The Phantom was the big stick when i was a youngster and I always thought it looked amazing. A brute of a machine but with all the weird anhedral and dihedrals on it they looked pretty futuristic.
GREAT flight Captain. The UK Coast is safe again. You got about aggressive as you can get in the sim. Luckily they turned tail and headed for home. Reminds me of the old Top Gun days! !! !!!
Haha, thanks very much Mark! Let’s all be grateful that the UK isn’t actually relying on me for our safety and freedom XD It was a fun little scenario to run in the sim, although it would have been about 20 times less work to set it all up in DCS haha (and I’m definitely looking forward to flying a certain F4 in that sim at some point!). Anyway, we all live to fight another day! Thanks for watching ; )
I remember the last days of the Phantom QRA at Coningsby when they were winding down the fleet to be replaced by Tornado. Managed to get into the hangers and take a few good pics of F4's undergoing maintenance.

Yes. When I have ever chatted with ex RAF chaps who flew these sleds in semi anger they still speak in revered, hushed tones re. the acceleration etc,.
@@tomsear1 re acceleration … I once saw an F4 in a 2 circle BFM with a Lightning F6 off the east coast it was a long time ago but they were very low … The F6 lit the burners and went straight up and the F4 did the same let’s say there was a marked difference in performance we all had a good laugh about it !
Loved the editing in this one! Such a cool intro 😎 I didn’t buy the Phantom, but I did buy FlightControlReplay after watching this 😄 I’m more of a Tomcat or Viper guy, so may have some fun with those DC/SC aircraft with an AI wingman! Tried it with the corsair today and it really adds some immersion when flying military aircraft.
Thanks very much Øystein, I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed it! Legend has it, those bears were so loud the pilots of the interceptor aircraft could hear and feel them when they got up around the distance you did, if not a wee closer. Say what you will about the Roosekies they did build one helluva machine, almost if not completely equivalent to the B-52 as far as longevity, and ability to still raise hackles.
My pleasure, Cade. Thanks for watching! I’m very much looking forward to the DCS F-4; I have no idea whether I’ll be able to cover the addon at release (that will rather depend my work schedule etc), but I’ll certainly be featuring the Heatblur Phantom at some point! Many thanks once again : )
Thanks very much Mr W! I’m really glad you enjoyed the intro; I must admit that I was pretty pleased with how it came out haha. I’m thinking, I may turn that intro + a few other clips, into a much shorter, purely cinematic video, at some point : ) Cheers and all the best!
Good morning from the States sir! Thank-you for demonstrating the DC Designs Phantom II for us. Despite the lack of realism, it looked like a fun aircraft to fly. I thought it was a nice touch to chase away the TU-95 Bear from your airspace. However, I am surprised that MSFS’s Zeus and the boys from Mt. Olympus would allow such violence to be simulated (JUST KIDDING!). Actually, I thought the chase added an air of excitement and realism to the demonstration rather than merely flying the aircraft around and performing aerobatics. Something that I think would really add to an F-4 experience would be for someone to invent inflight refueling on MSFS. That would enable a pilot to make transatlantic flights without artificially refueling via the weight and balance sliders. Unfortunately, I am very limited in regards to commenting on the aircraft’s authenticity at this point in my life. However when I was much younger, I knew just about everything there was to know about the F-4 and other Air Force aircraft. I do remember McDonald produced 2 versions of the aircraft, one for the Air Force which flew from improve runways and one for the Navy which require modifications for carrier operations. It just so happens that the RAF purchased the naval version for use in your Air Force and Navy. The Air Force version had a more elongated. tapered nose and appeared to be sleeker looking. For the navy, the nose was somewhat blunted with folding wings in order to save space on the carrier. It also had the tailhook and beefed up landing gear for carrier operations. And so… I have exhausted my expertise on the F-4 Phantom. Again sir, thank-you for sharing your flight with us.
McDonald? You Mean Mcdonnell Douglas? Still though, sounds pretty cool! i have a P-47 i fly all the time, and im still waiting for the day i can finally purchase a decommissioned Tomcat and fly her around, their so expensive though, what would you know about the maintenance requirements if i do happen to find myself one? haha!
@@XLexieXBabyX Ha! Great catch and sorry for the error. Indeed, I spelled McDonnell wrong. But it at times does get confusing. McDonnell developed the F-4 Phantom, but then in 1966, it merged with Douglas. So then, it became the McDonnell Douglas F-4. Hopefully, I got it right this time. But, thank-you for keeping me on my toes.
Hello Guerry, Thank you very much, my pleasure on the video! That pretty much sums up the DC Designs Phantom; not necessarily all that realistic, but the addon still offers up some fun nevertheless. It did take a minor Herculean effort to set up that scenario haha (as you allude to, the sim isn’t really designed for this sort of thing), but I thought it would make for an interesting flight / video and I wanted to do the Phantom (probably my favourite fast jet of all time) absolute justice. I’ve never been one for knowing all of the stats, rivets and specs of an aircraft (although as a kid, I did own a set of military aircraft Top Trumps cards haha), though I do okay when it comes to aircraft recognition etc. I’ve always loved the Phantom, specifically the British versions (and especially the naval variants), with their slightly wider / stubbier look. Thanks very much for sharing and all the best! : )
Hello. I'm after watching number of your videos and I would love to know your trackIR are settings and your Zoom settings in Microsoft flight simulator options. You seem to be sitting very close to your dash. I love that. Have a great day
Hello FD, My TrackIR profile, is actually available over on Flightsim.to (just search “Into the Blue” and you should be able to find it) - feel free to give it a go for yourself : ) I usually use a default zoom setting, but do tend to move the camera into what I deem to be a more “realistic” seating position, depending on the aircraft / addon in question of course (I don’t have any set figure for you I’m afraid). I hope that helps a little. Have a great day also. Cheers!
Hello Marcel, Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! I downloaded a freeware version of the aircraft and then converted it into MSFS. The following video details the steps required: ua-cam.com/video/fVfohjzFZQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rR-HAy97-giRhdbS Just to warn you, before you get stuck into the somewhat convoluted process; the external model of the finished result is decent enough, but the virtual cockpit is very poor (even by FSX standards). The model will work, but it was causing me some issues with MSFS - namely the sim tended to hang when closing the flight. I used a different (freeware) 3rd-party recording tool to record the Bear and then played that recording back as AI, for the intercept. A bit of a messy process overall haha. I hope that helps. My pleasure and all the best! : )
Cheers Calum, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! What specifically is the “this” you’re referring to haha (what element of this particular video was it that you enjoyed)? I’d love to know, that way I can potentially create future content in a similar vein. Many thanks and all the best : )
Ah well that’s very cool, Steve! Were you flying in the RAF? Either way, being in the RAF during the 80’s must have been pretty awesome - so many iconic machines flying around back then! I’m glad the video brought back some good memories. Thanks for watching and all the best : )
Ah cool. I watched a couple of short documentaries on QRA intercepts (including the controlling), whilst prepping for this video - very interesting. Gosh, 4 in day! They kept you busy then haha. Thanks for sharing Steve, all the best : )
Hello David, The scenery was previously available over on flightsim.to but, unfortunately it is no longer available for download. As it’s not my work, I’m afraid I’m not at liberty to share the addon with others. Sorry about that. All the best!
I may have missed it but did you have a video with some details on your track IR settings? New to track IR and struggling to get it quite as smooth as what you appear to have, any help would be much appreciated!
Hello Toby, I don’t have such a video but, I can do you one better than that. My TrackIR profile is available over on Flightsim.to; if you head over there and search “Into the Blue”, you should be able to find it and you can give it a go for yourself. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Ahh, very good, sir haha! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully you recognised one or two spots as well then ; ) The Phantom isn’t bad overall. It’s a pretty typical DC Designs product; the aircraft could be prettier and modelled better internally, but otherwise it’s decent fun. I hope you’re keeping well! It looks like the job and the channel are both proving lots of fun : ) Cheers Brandon, all the best!
For once I'm ahead of the curve here, I've been enjoying the F-4 for a while now, enjoy flying around in it. Don't recall the TU-95 being in Microsoft Flight Simulator though...
Haha! Well, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the Phantom, Deku ; ) I downloaded a freeware version of the Bear and then converted it into MSFS. The process was a bit convoluted and the results were rather hit and miss, but it was good enough for this sort of thing, Happy flying and all the best! : )
Haha, I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content, Josh! Thanks very much for the kind words - I’ll try my best to keep the videos coming ; ) Cheers and all the best!
Haha! I can see how that would be easily done, Streaky and I can see why the video may have been somewhat of a disappointment thereafter XD Obviously, the DC Designs Phantom isn’t in the same league as it’s upcoming DCS competitor, but I had some fun in the aircraft nevertheless : ) All the best!
Haha, well I’m much more excited for Heatblur’s F-4 also Jep, but I couldn’t resist a look at a Phantom available for MSFS (though obviously the two products will be worlds apart ; ) The ATC was real-world recordings, which I added into the video myself (for cinematic effect). Thanks very much and all the best! : )
Hi Pythos, I am indeed using a tool called “Flight Control Replay”. It’s primarily a flight recording tool, but one of its addtional features, is a “Ghost” option, which essentially allows for a virtual wingman. It’s an expensive, but pretty useful addon overall and it gives a very nice bump in immersion for these sorts of flights : ) I hope that helps. All the best!
That’s a negative I’m afraid, AL. Well, for the most part anyway; there are one or two addons that have visual effect for certain weapons, but there is no destruction etc as a result of using said munitions. I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
My pleasure! Haha. It is perhaps a little bit of a tease but then again, modern military aircraft generally spend most of their lives outside of combat (so I still think there’s a place for them in the sim). Cheers : )
Hi LoFi, The wingman is AI generated and is one of the features included with “Flight Control. Replay”. FCR is somewhat pricey, but there are some nice features included; I may do a slightly more detailed video on the feature at some point. I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
You’re most welcome! I’m afraid FCR is only available on the PC, yes (so far as I am aware) - it definitely makes me look far more talented at flying aerobatics than I actually am XD Cheers!
Hello Matt, I downloaded a freeware version of the aircraft and then converted it into MSFS. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Very interesting video thanks. I’ve just spent three hrs having a first go with it - great fun ! You’re right re the landing technique - hold the alpha and drive it into the deck/runway, don’t flare and throttle back when on the ground. Although, on the deck it’s full power until you feel the retardation, or you might do the infamous “whispering bolter”. Why Honington ? It was a Buccaneer base, the F4s were down the road at Wattisham. Rgds Chris
Hello A53, Unfortunately, the Honington scenery is no longer available for download. It was previously available over on Flightsim.to, but it appears that the dev pulled it some time ago (I was able to make use of a previously downloaded copy, but can’t share it I’m afraid, as it’s not my work to share). Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best : )
Cheers Chris, my pleasure. I’m glad you’re enjoying the Phantom! Yeah, I realised when watching the video back, that my “gentlemen’s landing” wasn’t really appropriate for the F-4 haha. Out of interest then, given that you say you were on the Buccaneer (very cool) and in the RAF (if memory serves me correctly); is it par for the course to make a carrier style landing (when operating a carrier capable aircraft), even when operating from land bases? I went with the Honington scenery, purely because I loved the detail that the author had included (and it therefore looks more convincing in the video). So far as I’m aware, no such scenery exists for Wattisham. Thanks very much once again! All the best : )
Indeed, it’s a real shame that the scenery got pulled. I suspect it might pop up as payware at some point though; the author’s other scenery was also pulled and is now available for purchase instead. I would love to be able to share it with you chaps but again, unfortunately it’s not my work to share. Cheers!
Hello, my friend, I have a problem with a simulator, how can I draw a map towards the landing runway, and I watched many videos and found a solution to the problem, but using an autopilot when approaching an airport, a pilot pilots a plane instead of me. Is there a way to draw a flight plan and draw towards the runway or the landing route without using Autopilot Please reply as soon as possible
Hello Abdllah, I’m afraid I don’t fully understand the question. You want to know how to draw a line on the map, from your present position to the landing runway? So far as I’m aware, you can either build up a flight plan on MSFS’ world map and then use the in-sim VFR map to display the route, otherwise, if the aircraft has a GPS, you can perform a “direct to” and that will take you direct to the airport (though won’t necessarily align you with the runway). I don’t think there’s an easy way (mid-flight at least) of doing exactly what you’re after, unfortunately. Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best : )
Yet another amazing video! Already have the Phantom, for whatever reason when i spool her up she smokes heavily and i follow the checklist religiously haha! Also still trying to figure out that wingman feature you have there, and how would i be able to get the TU95? that was a great scenario and i'd love to simulate it myself lol, can't wait for the next one buddy!
If you're talking about white smoke, it's the wing lights switch. Switch on is for smoke, switch off turns it off. Not sure why it's there or even on the lighting panel, I assume for aerobatic smoke with the Blue Angels livery but again having it on a lightning switch is weird
Thank you very much once again, sir! I’m glad you enjoyed the video / scenario and it’s good to hear that you’ve figured out your smokey phantom haha. The wingman feature is courtesy of “Flight Control Replay” (which has a “Ghost” function, amongst a number of other features). To get the TU95 imported into MSFS, I followed this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/fVfohjzFZQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rR-HAy97-giRhdbS. For the intercept, I then had to record the Bear with a different 3rd-party recording tool and replay that recording as AI. It was actually quite a bit of work to get everything set up, so by all means give it a go, but it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth to be honest haha. Also, the TU95 did cause me a couple of issues in the sim, namely the sim would freeze after quitting the flight. Cheers once again and have a great day! : )
Hi GB, The TU95 was a converted FSX freeware model. The following video outlines the process: ua-cam.com/video/fVfohjzFZQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rR-HAy97-giRhdbS Just to warn you, before you get stuck into the somewhat convoluted process; the external model of the finished result is decent enough, but the virtual cockpit is very poor (even by FSX standards). The model will work, but it was causing me some issues with MSFS - namely the sim tended to hang when closing the flight. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
My pleasure! It is *really* poor haha. The conversion is not worth the effort to be honest. Hopefully we’ll see a native TU95 in MSFS at some point : )
Haha, thanks very much, Martin! I’m sure there was more than a couple of things that I missed but, I certainly try and do my homework ahead of a review (and learning about the aircraft, is one of the aspects of simming that I enjoy : ) Cheers and all the best!

Great video I enjoyed it, although I have to say, after watching it the plane is not a must buy for me. Blackbird and Simworks have models in the pipeline so it will be nice to see how they look/fly.
Thanks very much Andrew, glad you enjoyed it! That’s fair; I didn’t realise that MILVIZ / Blackbird had already announced their Phantom for MSFS - that’ll most likely be the best option in the long run - very much looking forward to that one (their F-4’s looked great in FSX / P3D, although I did hear that the flight model was a little bit “quirky”). I’m very much looking forward to the DCS F-4 also, but a truly great Phantom in MSFS would be very welcome (since I spend the vast majority of my time in MSFS these days). Thanks again and all the best! : )
Thanks for yet another nice video. While i love the F-4, there just seems to be something odd with the exterior model, specially on the E from what i have seen. Mainly the nose, bit other bits here and there just look "off". But then again, i'm probably just overly picky on that stuff. And let's be fair, there is only one F-4 on my radar atm. Since you like the F-4, i am so bold as to assume we may see that one here at some point? :D
A pleasure as always, sir! I don’t think you’re being picky: I’m rubbish at rivet counting, but if the interior is anything to go by, I’ve no doubt the exterior has some accuracy issues also. For me personally, the addon looks enough like a Phantom to keep me reasonably happy, but I know that won’t be the case for everyone. Absolutely! I’m very much looking forward to the DCS F-4 and plan to cover it as soon as possible haha. Cheers! : )
Cockpit is always bad with this dev. They always look like ports from FSX. I've been watching him post for 2 years about improving them but they still look poor in my opinion. Even the new upgrades for the F14 he has posted on Facebook still look like FSX cockpits. Worse still, they look better on UA-cam then they do on your own screen. After the Harrier I'm done with this dev. So many better jets on the way like the new F14 from Heatblur/IndiaFoxTecho and they have others in the pipe like the F16 and Eurofighter.
Thanks very much, RAF! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them : ) The sound effects are from all over the place; basically, real-world recordings, from various sources, which I’ve then edited into the video. Cheers once again!
Definitely looking forwards to Heatblur's F-4 in DCS. Apparently Heatblur is working with IndiaFoxtEcho on bringing their F-14 to MSFS, and it will be really interesting to see how that works out. On landing, the AoA for the F-4 is something like 15-19 units of AoA in the indicator, but that's not actually degrees of AoA. After looking at some F-4 landing videos on UA-cam (search F-4 landing), it does come in at a very nose high angle of attack.
Likewise Harry; I’m very excited for the DCS F-4, especially given that it will be a Heatblur module! I’m looking forward to their MSFS F-14 also, but I’m a little bit more reticent about that one, as India Foxt Echo are doing the flight modelling and as much as I love some of their addons, I find their flight models a little bit “odd” at times. Fingers crossed and let’s see. . . Cheers for the pointer. Thanks very much for watching and all the best! : )
I bought this thing recently but I can't seem to get the weapons to appear. Is this because I bought it from the MSFS marketplace? If so, is there a download I can get that will allow me to add them?
Yes, it's because you bought it from the marketplace. There is a DC designs mod that enables them again. I remember seeing it mentioned on their facebook page. Not sure where it is listed though, sorry.
Hi TNM, Yes, that issue is as a result of having purchased the addon through the Marketplace. Luckily, DC Designs are one of the few devs, who (for PC users) provide an external download to remedy the problem. If you head over to Flightsim.to and search “DC Designs weapons”, you’ll probably be able to find the requisite file (I found the download previously, but I can’t remember exactly what I searched for I’m afraid). I hope that helps a little. If you get completely stuck, let me know. All the best! : )
I don't have a problem with it not being study level (I don't have the time in IRL to devote to the sim), so I'm a sucker for the visual model. But this looks a bit 'cartoony', which is disappointing. One thing that didn't look cartoony though was your intro! Epic! 👍😃
That’s fair Adam. I don’t mind the lack of “study level”-ness either and I can “put up” with the visuals, but I don’t think anyone could claim that DC Designs aircraft are the best looking addons in the sim (even DC Designs is somewhat candid about that, to be fair). I’m really waiting on the Heatblur Phantom in DCS and hoping that they might also brings the aircraft to MSFS one day (as they’re doing with their F-14). Further to that, I gather we’ll see a MILVIZ F-4 in MSFS at some point, so I’m very much looking forward to that. This addon will tide me over for now though haha. I’m really glad you enjoyed the intro! I must admit, I was pretty chuffed with how that came out : D Many thanks as always! Have a great day : )
Hi IBTC, It’s an AI wingman. Both “Flight Control Replay” and “Airshow Assistant” allow for one, with Airshow Assistant having the much better implementation / functionality overall. I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
It’s a fair criticism, Arixodia. I too would like to see more visual fidelity from DC Designs products (particularly internally). The MILVIZ Phantom is a really nice rendition of the aircraft and visually, it looks like it ports into MSFS pretty well. Apparently, MILVIZ have announced that their F-4 will be making a comeback in MSFS, so I’ll be keeping a close eye out for that. Cheers, all the best!
Well, I liked the nose-high aerodynamic braking on touch down. No idea if that's authentic but it certainly looked the part. A mach loop run would be cool (if you have time), maybe with a US version so we can see the J-79 and edge slats in action. Given that your FGR.2 (with no slats) was such a pussycat at low speed, I wonder if DC have given the hard and soft-wing versions the same flight model 🤔 Seemed like a very fair review to me, great stuff as usual 👍. Very tempted to pick this up.
Haha, cheers Roland. I think the high angle of attack is / was fairly realistic (by the sounds of it), but my inadvertent aerobraking - not so much (I should have just slammed it down on the deck ha). That’s a good point re the US Phantom. Though, I would struggle not to fly the beautiful RN paint job, were I to feature the DC Designs Phantom again ; ) As always, I tried to be fair. It would be nice to see more visual fidelity from DC Designs, but otherwise the Phantom is good fun. If you do pick the aircraft up, I hope you enjoy it! Have a great day : )
"Study level" military aircraft is an oxymoron in FS2020. Enjoy it for what it is a great aircraft in some great scenery. We all use another sim if we want to work the aircraft in a more serious fashion.
well thats a bunch of crap. for almost 40 bucks you would expect some resemblance of at least visual accuracy. also you can very much so make higher fidelity military jets in sim. you cannot model weapon systems, but you are 100% able to model the navigation systems.
I broadly agree Zobra - that’s basically what I alluded to in the video. Vlxxrd does have a point though; MSFS may not be a suitable platform for modelling weapons systems and the sim does still struggle a bit with this sort of flight modelling but otherwise, there’s no reason an addon can’t be high fidelity in most other areas. . . I still love this sort of flying in MSFS though, as the scenery / visuals are just too good to pass up! Cheers, all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations yes, i still enjoy flying military aircraft in MSFS, from several developers. i do however dislike addons like this that cost nearly as much as the high fidelity Hawk T1, yet look nothing like their real world counterparts.. At this point the lack of quality improvements in DC Designs products in the last two years is no longer excusable.
I think that’s fair Vlxxrd. I agree, that the promised improvements have been a long time coming and I had thought the Phantom was supposed to be done to a new, higher visual standard (I don’t see a tonne of evidence for that). DC Designs did recently state very clearly, that their focus will now shift to product improvements - I’m hoping that turns out to be true. Cheers : )
Hi JimJam, I know why you’re saying that and I take your point, but this video wasn’t intended to be a cold, hard review. Rather, this was intended to be a flight, where we look at the product as part of the process. It helps keep things interesting for me, mixing things up from review to review and I enjoy the creative process, so you’ll have to excuse a bit of “artistic licence” here and there haha ; ) I hope that makes sense. Cheers, all the best! : )

Thanks very much Mr W!
I’m really glad you enjoyed the intro; I must admit that I was pretty pleased with how it came out haha. I’m thinking, I may turn that intro + a few other clips, into a much shorter, purely cinematic video, at some point : )

@@Guerry-3 Sounds bout right to me haha! and no problem! Glad to help a fellow historian out!
Hello Guerry,
Thank you very much, my pleasure on the video!
Have a great day
Hello FD,
My TrackIR profile, is actually available over on Flightsim.to (just search “Into the Blue” and you should be able to find it) - feel free to give it a go for yourself : )
I usually use a default zoom setting, but do tend to move the camera into what I deem to be a more “realistic” seating position, depending on the aircraft / addon in question of course (I don’t have any set figure for you I’m afraid).
I hope that helps a little. Have a great day also. Cheers!
Great. Just got it and i will give it a go...Thank You sir@@IntotheBlueSimulations
You’re most welcome! : )
Great vid. Thank you! How did you do the Tu95?? Its not something one can do with the replay-software. I would love to recreate intercepts too.
Hello Marcel,
Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight!
I downloaded a freeware version of the aircraft and then converted it into MSFS. The following video details the steps required: ua-cam.com/video/fVfohjzFZQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rR-HAy97-giRhdbS
Just to warn you, before you get stuck into the somewhat convoluted process; the external model of the finished result is decent enough, but the virtual cockpit is very poor (even by FSX standards).
We need more video like this.
Cheers Calum, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
What specifically is the “this” you’re referring to haha (what element of this particular video was it that you enjoyed)? I’d love to know, that way I can potentially create future content in a similar vein.
Many thanks and all the best : )
That intro so brings back memories of my old job back in the RAF in the 80s
Ah well that’s very cool, Steve! Were you flying in the RAF? Either way, being in the RAF during the 80’s must have been pretty awesome - so many iconic machines flying around back then!
I’m glad the video brought back some good memories. Thanks for watching and all the best : )
No I didn't fly, I was based at Neatishead so on the controlling side coordinating the intercepts. Used to sometimes get 4 qra scrambles in a day
Ah cool. I watched a couple of short documentaries on QRA intercepts (including the controlling), whilst prepping for this video - very interesting. Gosh, 4 in day! They kept you busy then haha.
Thanks for sharing Steve, all the best : )
Hi
Can you please tell me where you got the scenery for the Raf camp at honnington ?
Hello David,
The scenery was previously available over on flightsim.to but, unfortunately it is no longer available for download.

Hello Toby,
I don’t have such a video but, I can do you one better than that. My TrackIR profile is available over on Flightsim.to; if you head over there and search “Into the Blue”, you should be able to find it and you can give it a go for yourself.
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Absolute legend! Thank you so much for the reply!
You’re most welcome, Toby! Cheers : )
Flying in my part of the world with Honington today, what a fantastic, in-depth and visually stunning video as always! The phantom looks pretty good.
Ahh, very good, sir haha! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully you recognised one or two spots as well then ; )
The Phantom isn’t bad overall. It’s a pretty typical DC Designs product; the aircraft could be prettier and modelled better internally, but otherwise it’s decent fun.
I hope you’re keeping well! It looks like the job and the channel are both proving lots of fun : )
Cheers Brandon, all the best!
For once I'm ahead of the curve here, I've been enjoying the F-4 for a while now, enjoy flying around in it. Don't recall the TU-95 being in Microsoft Flight Simulator though...
Haha! Well, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the Phantom, Deku ; )
I downloaded a freeware version of the Bear and then converted it into MSFS. The process was a bit convoluted and the results were rather hit and miss, but it was good enough for this sort of thing,
Happy flying and all the best! : )
Gotta love the RIAT comms 😂 love the content sir. Please keep them coming.
Haha, I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content, Josh! Thanks very much for the kind words - I’ll try my best to keep the videos coming ; )
Cheers and all the best!
Oh, I misread the title and got too excited. I saw DC..... and thought this was the DCS Phantom.
Haha! I can see how that would be easily done, Streaky and I can see why the video may have been somewhat of a disappointment thereafter XD
Obviously, the DC Designs Phantom isn’t in the same league as it’s upcoming DCS competitor, but I had some fun in the aircraft nevertheless : )
All the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations yes, was still a cool video, was just hoping to get to play with its DCS counterpart soon!
Haha, me too!
Cheers man, have a great day : )
looks ok but im holding out for the DCS Heatblur F-4......nice vid and review as usual
Is the ATC part of the phantom package?
I believe all of Heatblur's planes will be coming to MSFS eventually.
Haha, well I’m much more excited for Heatblur’s F-4 also Jep, but I couldn’t resist a look at a Phantom available for MSFS (though obviously the two products will be worlds apart ; )
The ATC was real-world recordings, which I added into the video myself (for cinematic effect).
Thanks very much and all the best! : )
How did you get the wing man?
He mentions in the video using Flight Control Replay.
Hi Pythos,
I am indeed using a tool called “Flight Control Replay”. It’s primarily a flight recording tool, but one of its addtional features, is a “Ghost” option, which essentially allows for a virtual wingman. It’s an expensive, but pretty useful addon overall and it gives a very nice bump in immersion for these sorts of flights : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thank you for the info.
You’re most welcome! : )
Are guns/missiles operable on military jets in MSFS?
That’s a negative I’m afraid, AL. Well, for the most part anyway; there are one or two addons that have visual effect for certain weapons, but there is no destruction etc as a result of using said munitions.
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thanks, I thought so... I was surprised they even have military aircraft in this game. Seems like a huge tease.
My pleasure!
Haha. It is perhaps a little bit of a tease but then again, modern military aircraft generally spend most of their lives outside of combat (so I still think there’s a place for them in the sim).
Cheers : )
Is the wingman a add on or a real person?
Hi LoFi,
The wingman is AI generated and is one of the features included with “Flight Control. Replay”. FCR is somewhat pricey, but there are some nice features included; I may do a slightly more detailed video on the feature at some point.
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thabks mate, I assume it’s not availabe on Xbox. I was only wondering if it was a add on or a very talented pilot haha!
You’re most welcome! I’m afraid FCR is only available on the PC, yes (so far as I am aware) - it definitely makes me look far more talented at flying aerobatics than I actually am XD
Cheers!

Where can I get the RAF Honington scenery?
Very interesting video thanks.
I’ve just spent three hrs having a first go with it - great fun !
You’re right re the landing technique - hold the alpha and drive it into the deck/runway, don’t flare and throttle back when on the ground. Although, on the deck it’s full power until you feel the retardation, or you might do the infamous “whispering bolter”.
Why Honington ? It was a Buccaneer base, the F4s were down the road at Wattisham.
Rgds Chris
Hello A53,
Unfortunately, the Honington scenery is no longer available for download. It was previously available over on Flightsim.to, but it appears that the dev pulled it some time ago (I was able to make use of a previously downloaded copy, but can’t share it I’m afraid, as it’s not my work to share).
Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best : )
Now that is a pity. I was a Nav on Buccaneers at Honington in the mid-70s and early 80s and was looking forward to “flying” from there again. Chris.
Hello Abdllah,
I’m afraid I don’t fully understand the question.
@@Arixodia oh okay i gotchya, thank you very much!
Thanks for offering up the help, Arixodia! Much appreciated : )
Where did you get the TU-95 for the intro, or was that just 3D animation?
Hi GB,
The TU95 was a converted FSX freeware model. The following video outlines the process: ua-cam.com/video/fVfohjzFZQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rR-HAy97-giRhdbS

@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thank you, now knowing that the interior is verypoor I think I'm going to stay away from it
My pleasure! It is *really* poor haha. The conversion is not worth the effort to be honest. Hopefully we’ll see a native TU95 in MSFS at some point : )
So damn impressed you know every little detail. 💞🍻
Haha, thanks very much, Martin! I’m sure there was more than a couple of things that I missed but, I certainly try and do my homework ahead of a review (and learning about the aircraft, is one of the aspects of simming that I enjoy : )

Cheers! : )
Pretty good. The cockpit is not as nice as some of the others I've seen. But much better than other F-4's I've seen in the past.
@@johnwicks4936 Yeah, this is especially bad with their concorde.
same. Way too expensive for cheap cockpits
"Not as nice as other's I've seen.... but much better than others I've seen in the past.... " Uhhh??? Have you see one's from the future? Confused????
Your into scenes are amazing
where do you get your QRA sound effects from ?
Thanks very much, RAF! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them : )
The sound effects are from all over the place; basically, real-world recordings, from various sources, which I’ve then edited into the video.
Thanks for offering up the help RG, much appreciated! : )
Hi TNM,
Yes, that issue is as a result of having purchased the addon through the Marketplace.
I must admit, I was pretty chuffed with how that came out : D
Many thanks as always! Have a great day : )
do you have a friend who flys with you, or is that an ai wingman?
Hi IBTC,
It’s an AI wingman. Both “Flight Control Replay” and “Airshow Assistant” allow for one, with Airshow Assistant having the much better implementation / functionality overall.
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
The horrendous interior, exterior textures and poor modelling of the E are unforgivable at this price point IMO. The Milviz F4-E port looks better
Given that your FGR.2 (with no slats) was such a pussycat at low speed, I wonder if DC have given the hard and soft-wing versions the same flight model 🤔
Seemed like a very fair review to me, great stuff as usual 👍. Very tempted to pick this up.
Haha, cheers Roland. I think the high angle of attack is / was fairly realistic (by the sounds of it), but my inadvertent aerobraking - not so much (I should have just slammed it down on the deck ha).
That’s a good point re the US Phantom. Though, I would struggle not to fly the beautiful RN paint job, were I to feature the DC Designs Phantom again ; )
As always, I tried to be fair.
Cheers : )
Should have used the missiles.
Haha unfortunately Andrew, due to MOD cost-cutting, the missiles are just there for show ; )
All the best!
Unless those piped in military comms are part of the package they shouldnt be used during the review.
Hi JimJam,
I know why you’re saying that and I take your point, but this video wasn’t intended to be a cold, hard review. Rather, this was intended to be a flight, where we look at the product as part of the process. It helps keep things interesting for me, mixing things up from review to review and I enjoy the creative process, so you’ll have to excuse a bit of “artistic licence” here and there haha ; )
I hope that makes sense. Cheers, all the best! : )
