Oh yes the problem with R-Spec and C-Spec happens to A LOT of people! I know several Bolt owners who sold their C-Spec or rebuilt it to an R-Spec. It's really confusing when buying a Bolt because one would assume a Bolt is a Bolt... I got my R-Spec since several years and I'm so happy with that bike. Exactly the kind of Bobber / Cruiser I've always wanted. I guess if you would've bought an R-Spec, you'd have been happy, too. Your new bike looks also amazing. I wish you lots of fun on it! Ride safe! 🏍️🤗
I definitely recommend test riding a Bolt R-spec. It has very different ergonomics and is more in line with a Sportster. The Bolt also has another model... The SCR950 which is, lol, a street scrambler version.
I own the Bolt C spec.I am also 5'6". I believe my inseam is 29" So I have a long torso that works for reaching the bars. My dislike is the hard seat. Ended up buying a padded seat cushion off Amazon. It helps although now the bike is taller. Always a trade off!
@@Bandiccoot Its the LKV motorcycle air cushion. I have used it around 6 mon. Infrequently though. If this companies cushion is too small, there are similar ones that are bigger on Amazon.
@@fearandloathinginamerica if I knew about the R-Spec to begin with, I would have bought that bike instead of a C-Spec. I didn't know there were 2 different types of Bolts.
Has peg kit to ,mov pegs forward 6-9". Has tpms, temps, quick shifter, cruise controll?? . Like most other, that are cheaper ? Replace exhaust, seat etc. Yes start over
The R-Spec is a different model, not an upgrade to the C-Spec, both bikes are exactly the same save for the ergo ;) . Share it wasn't for you, i personally love my C spec (in europe its XV950 Racer) and I can't see any bike replacing it, if anything I'll probably get a second bike to compliment it lol. Anyway Street Scramble is a cool bike too, I once owned a Street Twin, very cool bike but was a bit too small for me.
I just sat on an XRS900. It didn't feel right because it has a forward racing bike position. Hated it. I am a upright rider. My back cannot accept any type of lean in this context. I have a Tenere 700 which provides the best ergo feel out of all my bikes, even better than my Ducati Scrambler which is upright but legs are more tucked, not to mention the transmission is clunky. Lesson is never just buy a bike on coolness. Sit on it and never accept adaptability to the seat position.
It cost next to nothing to swap bars on this bike if you can find a junked yamaha dirt bike and get the bars/clamps. You need dirt bike handle bars and clamps. The holes for the clamps are under the black plastic cover on the triple clamp. You need a new mechanic, he didnt even look at your bike and was trying to sell you parts. The scr950 has the same controls on dirt bike bars stock.

I had no idea! I know now though and am grateful for the experience. I think I would've been happy too if I had the R-Spec instead.

The R-Spec definitely looks like a Sportster too. I just googled the SCR950, looks like a great bike. The seat height is too high for me though :(.
THank you for your humility. Because of it, you were/are a blessing.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words.

Yup, there is always a trade off!
@Orange, do you have a link for the seat cushion you got from Amazon? I wonder if it would fit my R- Spec.

Dang did the swap and i love it!!!! Made my c-spec into a scrambler, a s-pec ya could say
LOL!!
Great video, and honest assessment. I've used that ergo simulator in the past...a great tool. Enjoy the Triumph!
It is SUCH a great tool! The seller told me about it and I've seriously told 10+ people about it! Such a great tool.
Great info! Especially in regards to sizing yourself up to a bike..subscribed 💯🔥👌🏾💪🏾
Thank you!
R spec is the way to go honestly
Wish I knew what I knew then now!
@@msmichellerides what do you mean?

Cycle ergo shows the Bolt R-Spec having a near perfect upright seating position.
I know, I wish I knew back then what I know now!
You live in OC. You're riding north on Newport Blvd through the 55 north. That part of my commute to work. New I recognized it.
Good info! Ride safe and have fun!
Thank you Michelle.. let us know how you like your Triumph.!
I'm loving the bike already! Will share updates soon :).

That street scrambler is sexy! Let's see more of that bike! 😉
It definitely is :D. And the previous owner was so so nice ;D. More videos coming soon!
Thanks for sharing very valuable information!
Thank you!
It appears that it has aftermarket handlebars which appear to be lower down, which would affect your riding position.
Nope, those are factory bars for the c-spec specifically

The Yamaha bolt was dropped here about 2 years ago.
Could have changed the top triple clamp from a r spec🤷
I brought it to the mechanic and he said for the price of changing the C-Spec, I might as well just buy an R-Spec.
How much did you sell your bolt for?
And how many kms was on it?
I sold it to a dealer for $3K. I It really didn't have many miles on it...I don't remember off the top of my head.
You bought a wrong bike at first place. C-Spec is cafe racer spec. You should buy Yamaha SCR950.
You said upgrade model of the c-spec? Are you serious? C-Spec and R-spec exact same bike just cafe and sportster! lol
You sound like AI😂
