    Good Honest Review. I haven't rode a Bike in like 20 years, and it was a Sportbike. I am looking for a cruiser type now. I have seen many reviews on the Bolt, just came across yours. Appreciate your input. I'm currently looking at a 2023 model. I think it will fit me perfectly for cruising back and forth to work !

      Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and to leave a comment.
      You will love the bike, it is forgiving but also has enough power to ride comfortably and be fun. I took mine on an over an hr ride today, the more I ride it the more I feel comfortable on the bike and the more I like it.
      But as I mentioned in the video my goal was to always have an mt09, so I might be selling mine soon. But if I could keep both I definitely would.

      @@newbierides, the MT09 is a super nice Bike as I have seen. You will get one...keep at it !! Thanks for the info man !

      Hey Point , ... Good choice if you get one.... The poor man's Harley as I call it. Awesome ride and ...... Self cancelling turn signals .... ( after you move about 500 feet .... 150 meters ) .... and ummmm Yeah Hp= torque at 5252 rpm.... so that's ~60 Hp.... not what ever the forums tell you and at 5800 rpm that's ~65.5 Hp .... But you probably will run it around 4000 rpm which is the 45 Hp they reference.
      The bike is no slouch. it rocks if you are less than 200 lb's
      Any who ...... Stay Safe ...... Ciao

    I bought my bolt in march of this year. I love it so much. I feel more and more confident every time I ride

      I wish I could have kept mine, but I ended up selling it to get something more sporty and easier to commute on our crazy bay area traffic. But I learned to ride on the bolt and felt way more confident in just a month riding it. Loved the bike. In the future if I can keep more than 1 bike it will be a naked sports bike and either a bolt or something similar. Ideally I would want three bikes, an adventure bike for long day rides too haha but I would have to win the lotto on it.

    Been riding 15 yrs now, had my Bolt for 6 of them, 27,800 + miles on it now.( Honda and a Virago before that ), It's my go to bike. very nimble, and very fast for a mid-size cruiser. 65 to 80 mph is its happy place in 5th gear. As for passing on a hill or a straightaway, it's just 4th to 5th and you are gone, 4th up to 80 ~85..... into 5th and rocket up to 100 + if you are ballzy enough....I keep mine under 95 though, lots of twisty highways were I live and need to slow down quite a bit on my day to day travels.
    Keep the bike and get your FZ09.....I'm guessing that chances are you'll be on the Bolt more than the FZ .... especially on bike night where it's mostly Harleys and other V twins.
    Stay Safe

      I loved the bolt, but I ended up selling it and getting an MT07 which is easier to commute since it is so lightweight. But at times it feels too lightweight for the area I live in with the crazy high winds we get.
      I have a review video coming up on that bike this coming Monday. I wish I could afford to have kept the bolt as well hehe it was definitely a fun bike.

    Good video man. Bought mine new few years ago and 30k miles later she’s still doesn’t skip a beat. Be careful on the MT-09, they’re rippers

      Thanks man, yea the bolt is a lot of fun. I might end up with an MT07 instead of the 09. At least for now, trying to hold my horses and take ir slow haha. It gets too tempting to get an mt09 but I think it might be better for me to get something a bit more tamed for now.

    Most bikes u can lower or adjust the brake lever height - but make sure the brake light has to also be re-adjusted as well

    65-75 in top gear? And vibrates alot? its rubber mounted which almost eliminates any vibration, Somethings definitely wrong with your bike mines topped out at 118 and cruises nice at 70 low-mid revs in 4th 🤷 still does 70 in third screaming

    • @newbierides
      @newbierides  15 годин тому

      I think most of the issue was that I didn't have much experience when I got this bike. So I used to grip the handlebars too hard lol. But it was normal I guess for a cruiser, but also the lack of a 6 speed, which I feel like would have made it way more comfortable. After this bike I got an MT07 and it vibrated way less just because of the 6th speed. But overall this bike was awesome, every now and then I miss ridding a cruiser bike. I wish I could have afforded to keep it and bought the MT-09 that I now have.

    Good review why in the name of common sense would you want to go over 75 miles an hour on a roadway where people are in cars all around you and texting?

    • @newbierides
      @newbierides  8 місяців тому +1

      Idk where you live, but in the CA bay area if you don't, you get run over. Most cars ride at 75-80mph around here and it is always safer to ride a bit faster than traffic.

    Hi, do you have ticking sound from the engine when you ride? I got ticking when I ride from little bit of revs to the redline. Ticking is not there when idling. I hear ticking and exhaust note, until the wind gets too loud.

    • @newbierides
      @newbierides  3 місяці тому +1

      I think that might be normal on those bikes. I remember hearing some weird noise on mine too

    • @jaywinters2483
      @jaywinters2483 16 годин тому

      It’s an overhead cam engine. That means valve lash is supposed to be adjusted at intervals. Have you ever taken to get valves adjusted!? If not, you’re not doing the maintenance you’re supposed to. That’s the ticking sound you’re hearing. Don’t neglect the valve adjustment.

    In Australia the Yamaha Bolt would never be considered a Beginner bike and you can’t legally ride one in most states after several years of having a license, especially since they have a fair bit of torque

    • @newbierides
      @newbierides  9 місяців тому +1

      That's Crazy, it was an awesome beginner bike for me. Has a great amount of torque but it is forgiving it never felt scary the amount of power it has. Very linear power easy to manage.

    I just discovered the bolt after being set on getting a Honda rebel 500 as my first bike. I just sat on the bolt and it felt really comfortable the only thing I’m worried about is the amount of cc’s. So can anyone provide some insight on me getting this as my first bike. Is it a good or bad idea?

    • @newbierides
      @newbierides  5 місяців тому +2

      I don't think it is that much more than the rebel on power. It has more power but feels very tamed and easy to manage.
