How To - Mares Milk Test with water quality/pool strips

Since I always reference the milk test on my foal cams to give you my guess if she will foal or not, I thought you might like to see the process and also give instructions for those that breed horses and have not used the water quality/pool test strips for foaling predictions. For detailed instruction watch the video.
Here are the amounts and links to items I use
1 mL of mares milk to 6 mL of distilled water. If you can't get enough milk for 1 mL you can use .5 mL to 3 mL of mares milk.

why do you take so much milk when you only need 1ml? Aren;t you worried about taking colostrum? I have found some results without adding water, just the straight milk.

because one or 2 squeezes gives me that much and I also evaluate the color of the milk. Plus I have plenty to retest if needed. It is also how I get my maiden mares accustom to letting the foal nurse. Before I started doing this it would take a long while for my maiden mares to let the foals near their very tender teats. Milking them beforehand gets them used to it. It is no where near enough to effect the colostrum for the foal. All the years I have been testing this way I have never had a foal fail it's IgG test. They have been over achievers LOL
