Let’s not forget this lovely young woman had already gone through a lot of trauma…Stage 3 ovarian cancer, fertility treatments, pre eclampsia and then this! What a strong couple they are and their little Jo is a beautiful, well deserved miracle.
Yes, but nobody is telling will this baby have any debilitating disabilities as most of these kids have. Also, mom is an amazing human being, but stage 3 ovarian cancer...is terminal as much as I hate to type it. She'll be soon dead after the remission is over and that precious baby will be left without a mom, God forbid having some severe disability and taken care mainly by dad who'll have to be everything for her. No, this story is not at all a fairytale, it's a huge human tragedy.
Precious baby girl!! My husband's (he's 75) father was born very early back in about 1922. There was no technology like today. The doctor came to his grandparent's home to deliver the emergency baby. The doctor asked who should he save because he couldn't save both. His grandfather said, I'd like you to save both. The baby boy was born, 1lb. They put him in a teacup and into the warming oven of the old wood cook stove. They both survived. My father in law grew up and became a wonderful Pastor. Was married and had 3 children. My husband is one of them. God had His hand on him and He does also on this precious little girl. God bless you all!
Thank you for sharing this miraculous story! Not only is it amazing how your father in-law survived being born so early in 1922, he also led a fruitful life. Brought me to tears.
90 yes ago my mother was born “early” in a remote snowed in cabin on a mountain. She was placed in a boot box in the warming oven also. She was nearly 4 mos old when the snow broke, she was weight at the general store at 3 1/2 pounds.
I was born at 24 weeks in the 80s and weighed 1 lb 6 oz. I had a 50/50 chance of survival and am so lucky to be alive! I was in the NICU for three months and got to be brought home in a limousine and was even featured in the Oregonian newspaper as well as on the local news. I’m now 35 years old and am about to give birth to a healthy baby boy at the same hospital I was cared for at ❤🥰
I’m an ex-NICU nurse. I worked in my NICU for 47 years before I retired. These very little babies are very challenging to care for and they have a lot of obstacles to get past. This baby was fortunate to have had only a minor cerebral hemorrhage. I hope that she and her parents will continue to do well.
I had a 22 and 2 baby that weighed more than this sweet babe. Mine was 1lb2oz with intubation tube. Babes are so resilient, my husband and I couldn’t help but follow her resilience. She spent 131 days in the NICU and is 2 1/2 now. She’s running, singing and wild. We love her and are so thankful that we get to parent her.
As an NICU nurse, I had the privilege to take care of little 11 oz premies. To see one who does so well is a miracle. It is definitely a team effort and lots of love and prayers.
You mean there have been others who survived that tiny? Honestly that’s incredibly miraculous really. How tiny all their vital organs must be and their little fingers and toes. I’m sure your job has both a lot of joy and a lot of heartaches. Much respect to you. Thank you.❤
@@julievanderleest they don't always survive. There are so many variables involved. But working with little ones is so rewarding when they make it home. We also become bonded with the little ones along with the parents and family.
Having a micropremie is both the hardest and most beautiful experience ever. My son was born at 23 weeks 3 days. And only ONE of major challenges my son faced while in the NICU was he became septic at 4 weeks old and was told he had less than 24 hours and to say our goodbyes. They offered to stop all treatment and I told them no to keep treating him with everything they had. And I’m glad I listened to my instincts because… My son is now a healthy, loving, amazing 6 year old boy ❤ I love you Oakley so much!
Wow. Your son is truly a miracle baby. So many healthy adults that come down with sepsis don’t make it and your son fought through it and is a survivor. He’s a strong little warrior. God bless you and your sweet boy.❤
@@Ochtroost That's great!! Skin to skin contact is usually reccomended and is thought to play a role in a premature child's health, but sometimes it's just not possible and the baby needs to stay in the good hands of the doctors. Congratulations to you and your son! 💗💗
Everyone wants to have the golden hour and get skin to skin contact as soon as possible. My son was born early and they wanted limited stimulation so we couldn't hold him for weeks.
My daughter was born at 24 weeks and I thought she was tiny at 1lb 6ozs. This is the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do, but my daughter is 18 now and she’s wonderful.
I was born at 1 pound 2 ounces at 24 weeks, my mom had pre-eclampsia. Somehow I survived and now I'm 31. I grew up with such a unique story, it's amazing how the internet can connect us all to show so many stories of survival.
This made me cry. I am a high-risk pregnancy, and it has been a roller coaster. I have made it to 29 weeks and tomorrow 30 weeks. Rejoicing made it this far. Prescious baby ❤

My daughter was born full term but had a medical emergency shortly after being born and was in the NICU for breathing issues. We were only in the NICU for a week, but i developed such a heart for the babies and families that have to spend months there. I would love to volunteer at a NICU someday. ❤
She’s a tough little nugget for sure to survive and thrive coming into the world at 23 weeks. My (surprise, natural) triplets were born at 27 weeks and were so tiny, ranging from 1lb 12 oz to 2lbs 1 oz. I too remember searching for them in the isolette since they were so buried in wires, tubes and equipment. They looked like little baby birds❤️ And I cringe remembering that stomach dropping fear every time the phone rang. We said goodbye to our smallest twice, which felt like someone ripped the soul from my body. That was 7 months ago and I have three very active, healthy babies at home, two boys and a girl, all thanks to the amazing NICU staff and the ongoing care by the pediatric cardiologist, pulmonologist and pediatrician. I wish these parents and their baby Jo all the good health and luck in the world.
How beautiful. I have a friend who was born at 6 months weighing 767 gms, 47 years ago. He was so tiny. I always say to him you were definitely born for a reason; you were meant to be here. He has cerebral palsy, but nothing stops him from doing what he wants to do. He drives a car and works 3 part days a week. He is a truly happy person and is wonderful to be around. Such an all round positive person. He always says G'day Legend when he asks how I'm doing.

My first daughter was born in May 1987 at 24 weeks weighing 2 pounds. Back in 1987 she was considered a miracle. Everything this couple went through I know so well. My baby girl went through the same struggles and also came home in oxygen. My daughter is a surviving twin. Baby A was born at 22 weeks and only survived for a few minutes. I was able to keep my survivor in an extra 15 days to be born at 24 weeks, she was 1.2lbs. Her eyes we also fused shut still. At 9 days old she got NEC and perfed her intestines. They had to do surgery and placed an iliostomy. At 9 months old they repaired and reconnected her intestines. The doctors said they had never seen a baby that sick survive. She is now a happy, healthy 9 year old.
35 years ago, I taught a 2nd grader who was a preemie. He was the smallest kid in class, but had a big personality. I don’t remember how early, I just remember the picture of his dad’s wedding ring on his bicep, with room to spare. He also had a large port wine birthmark on his face and was one of the first kids to receive laser treatments to reduce its prominence.

The NICU is a place I never thought I'd see the inside. But I'm honestly so thankful for our time there as well as for the NICU nurses. They were angels that took such special care of my son and I can never thank them enough.
My daughter was born at 29 weeks and 6 days and she weighed 2 lbs 13 ounces. She was amazing! She came home after 6 weeks and 5 days in the NICU and hit all of her milestones early-she was walking at 10-11 months old! Now she's almost 17 and very smart and an amazing artist!
I had a "whimpy white boy" born at 27wks 1.6# a nicu roller coaster is exactly what it is!! We were at riley children's hosp in indy, where their record smallest baby 18 y ago was 22 wks. My son now is 18 and sassy, completely fine!! So blessed thank you Lord🙏 the nicu is the most amazing place in a hospital, 98% of my nurses were absolutely amazing ❤
My daughter was born at 30 weeks and 2 days. She weighed 1220gm. She was really tiny, but this Bub is super tiny! I wish her and her parents and amazing life. Bless. PS. A big hug to all the staff at King Edward Memorial hospital in Perth, Western Australia for taking care of us and ensuring we took home our healthy baby.
How can you cry so much for someone you don’t know ??? While looking at that precious baby I saw God !!! Such a beautiful story. Thank you so much for sharing it with me !!! ❤️🙏
My cousin was born at 6 months and weighed one pound he had a brain bleed that they caught late…it was the 90’s. He just turned 32 they said he would talk, walk or read because of the bleed that led to cerebral palsy. He does all that and more he even has a job and can discuss any topic.
Everyone who helped little Jo is fantastic and beyond words of praise, it's wonderful to know this is even possible as back when I was young there was simply no chance of survival outside the womb at this age.
These doctors and nurses are earth angels from God to care for these little micro babies , my heart for the parents ❤ my own little grandaughter was 26 weeks 950gms a bleed too and is 8 now doing amazing my daughter didn't get to hold her for 3 weeks but the mothers who looses thier premies break my heart I honestly think all mums to be should be brought and showed premies photos xx
I am so glad baby and mom and dad are healthy! I had preeclampsia and hellp syndrome too with my youngest. I couldn't imagine her being born at 23 weeks. Wow. So strong!!
James was our little nugget. He only weighed slightly more than Jo. First child and grandchild 💕 and we were scared. The hospital care was awesome. They gave us hope with reality as well as great care for this blessed little boy. Today he is 15 and a wonderful caring young man. He is very smart and shy. His plans are to be a teacher of math or history. God gave us the right doctors and nurses to pull this tiny nugget through. We are so grateful for his life 🙏. And hearing this story tells me your family will be too. CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
My son was 31 weeks and died in my arms. This is amazing ❤️. I should say though that my daughter born 2 years after my son...was born early too. Nicu for a month. Now is in nursing school. She wants to work in nicu.
Looking across the room at my son who is 25. He was born at 34 weeks weighing only 2.3lbs & 13” long. He has muscular dystrophy that we know now was the cause of his small size & all the medical issues he has today. The NICU TEAM truly are angels on earth.
I had mine at 25 weeks emergency C-section 1lb dropped to 10 0z he was in nicu for 3 months until 4lbs on oxgen machine and pulse ox machine for over a year he is now 17 1/2 taller than me and graduating this year also works part mine. He’s my miracle and at the time I was told he was the smallest premie they have delivered and fortunate to have the equipment to help them survive today
May God continue to Bless all the nurses and Doctors who helped this little one live. God does indeed have something special for her life..I pray for mom and dad to stay strong rely on each other but rely on Father God most of all and Accept Jesus..
My baby was born at 24 weeks. 1#7 spent 152 days in the NICU. Hardest thing to walk through. This doctor got it right God has a plan for these tiny babies. My daughter will turn 12 next week. I tell her all the time that she is a miracle. ❤❤
God is indeed, good...I'm crying that what seemed impossible...🙏🏻....WAS possible...🙏🏻God bless Baby Jo & her loving parents, & I can't help but wonder how the sweet Mom's health is now...Beautiful family...❤
My sister had a emergency C section and my nephew fit the palm of our hands. He was very sick and it took 2wks to get the diagnosis but luckily he did need surgery cuz there was zero chance of survival. When we got the diagnosis it was that his lymph nodes were not fully developed and so he was leaking water into my sister and she was jaundice. Luckily he began getting better and bf long it was touch and go but he’s 30 now and a great human a musical 🎶 prodigy 😮 yes! So look for big things God made them special. 🤗😘🙏🏻
Absolutely amazing & what a beautiful little girl y’all have. You gave her the love & strength she needed to continue to fight as hard as she did. From one mom to another & dad too, congratulations on your beautiful bundle of life & I hope y’all will have a very long, happy & love filled life ahead!!! ❤🙂🇨🇦
Omg - bawling my eyes out!! What a little angel!! She’s so beautiful 🥰 As the good doctor said, with God all things are possible - AMEN! And doctor, you are one of God’s angels on earth working for Him! Bless you ❤
So precious and brought back so many memories for me, I had twins at 27 weeks 4 days due to severe preeclampsia, lost my vision the works they were both barely 1 pound each and after countless surgeries and living 5 months in the hospital your NICU family becomes your life long family, my twins are 6 now and we still keep in touch with most of their nurses and respiratory therapists and doctors.
A miracle baby born from a such strong and wonderful parents.. ❤ Glad to see an amazing support from the doctors and nurses at NICU! My son was in NICU for 4 months, last week he turned one and his NICU doctors came to visit and brought him birthday presents, they're such wonderful doctors..
And here we have people still saying that abortions are okay because the baby is just a fetus. Little baby Jo was extremely tiny and yet clearly was a baby who fought to live. What an incredible miracle.❤
Until out of the womb it is just a fetus. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I still say that. Abortions are okay and it's no one's right to prevent them because of feelings
My niece was born at 25 weeks. She was 1 lb 10 oz. She just graduated college as a physical therapist. No problems whatsoever. She was never even on oxygen! Breathed on her own since day 1. God is so good.
That baby lived because of the faith of that Dr. She acknowledged that it was God! She gave Him credit and He honored her for that. ❤ Wish we had more doctors like her.
That is an amazing. God is so good and so are the Drs and nurses trained in this very difficult position. Most of the time they see tradgicy and jo defined all odds. Congrats to you and thank you and praise God for your hospital team. Amazing ending.
My grandbaby was born at 23 weeks she was so tiny and you could see right threw her skin we wasn’t allowed to hold her for almost 2 weeks!!!!It was so scary but god was with us all my grandbaby was a fighter she’s 5 yrs old now and she’s so healthy!!!!!

What a little doll Jo is! I’m so, so happy that she made it considering the odds.
What a blessing. I worked NICU back in the early 80’s. Grateful for this family that little Jo is thriving. God bless you.
I had twins a girl and.a boy at 23 weeks. They’re now healthy 13 year olds
That sweet little tiny baby is a fighter. God bless her family and those that cared for her.
That baby was blessed with a great doctor!
She's strong little girl and I hope she grows and does well!
My cousin was born at 6 months and weighed one pound he had a brain bleed that they caught late…it was the 90’s. He just turned 32 they said he would talk, walk or read because of the bleed that led to cerebral palsy. He does all that and more he even has a job and can discuss any topic.
Mighty JO young. What a true blessing she is. Much love and many prayers sent your way Mom & Dad.
God's miracles for sure. God bless you both with your amazing precious little miracle, baby.
Special parents, special nursing team, special nurse and especially special little baby Jo. Go girl! Love to you all ❤
I am so glad baby and mom and dad are healthy! I had preeclampsia and hellp syndrome too with my youngest. I couldn't imagine her being born at 23 weeks. Wow. So strong!!
Nothing Better Than A Doctor Who Loves God And Gives Him The Glory ❤
That's fabulous. I wish her luck. And I give you my condolences for your loss. ❤
Looking across the room at my son who is 25. He was born at 34 weeks weighing only 2.3lbs & 13” long. He has muscular dystrophy that we know now was the cause of his small size & all the medical issues he has today. The NICU TEAM truly are angels on earth.
I just realized that her 1st birthday just passed! 😃 Happy Birthday little one!!
Strong baby she here for a reason ❤❤❤
The NICU nurses and neonatalogists are wonderful!
Baby Jo is a miracle baby girl. Guardian angels are always there with her and her parents. ❤
My niece was a premie and was only pound when she was born. Thank God for all NICU workers! She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.
My daughter was 2lb 4 oz 😮 I thought SHE was small!!! What a beautiful tiny lil blessing
Lovely to see how they look into each other's eyes and allow each other to speak without interruption.
Just such a beautiful story of hope. To God be the glory ! He’s got a plan for you baby Jo.
Jo is a miracle! She has wonderful parents and a fantastic, caring doctor.
What a beautiful, happy baby. She is a miracle.
Love Dr Everette, and the family is just amazing! 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you to the team of ANGELS that saved baby Jo. xxxxx
Oh my gosh what a roller coaster of a ride! Thank God for modern medicine & knowledgeable doctors who saved this little girl’s life ❤
Absolutely amazing God bless this baby and the beautiful doctors
What a beautiful couple and fantastic Doctor 🙏❤️
Miraculous mother, miraculous little girl. Sending well wishes to you all.
What amazing parents and doctor
My daughter was 2 lbs 12 oz and so tiny. To think she was 2 lbs bigger than this baby! True miracle! ❤️
My niece was born at 25 weeks. She was 1 lb 10 oz. She just graduated college as a physical therapist. No problems whatsoever. She was never even on oxygen! Breathed on her own since day 1. God is so good.
@@andreamasci4741 Wow no oxygen and that little?? Amazing! Congrats to her on her graduation!
That baby lived because of the faith of that Dr. She acknowledged that it was God!
She gave Him credit and He honored her for that. ❤
Wish we had more doctors like her.
Wishing them a beautiful life ahead.

Amazing parents too.
