What beautiful children ❤. My father was born in 1942 as the surviving twin from a twin to twin transfer . At the time, little to nothing was known about this condition so Dads brother did not survive even though he was over 7 lbs. Dad, by sharp contrast, weighed 1 pound 1 oz. They were born at home in a poor farming community and the doctor didnt hold much hope for Dad. He told my Great Grandmother to make him warm and comfortable that he wouldnt survive till morning. My Gran told the doctor where he could stick his ideas and wrapped Dad in soft lambs wool , tucked him in her best roasting pan and put him in the warming oven of her huge old wood stove. (A sort of cupboard built into the stove away from the fire where food was kept warm). She fed Dad withnan eye dropper and he lived in his snug little nest for the first 6 months of his life. People came from all over to look at the impossibly tiny baby sleeping in a roasting pan 😂. Today, Dad is 81 and one of the tallest men in his family! ❤
Wow. The idea of a tiny baby sleeping in a roasting pan is so interesting. I’ve heard of women in the past that would use a drawer taken out of their bedroom chest-of-drawers/dresser, but never of something for an even smaller baby.
This happened to us. My daughter lost the first baby in utero. The second baby was 17 ounces at birth and spent five months in the NICU. She made 5 pounds, they sent her home with no apnea monitor. She died two weeks after coming home, from SIDS, they said. After breast feeding (pumping) and bonding with her for 5.5 months. My daughter was inconsolable, and losing two babies altered her deeply. She has a little girl now, and that baby girl healed her heart. We are SO thankful.
I wanted you to know after reading your reply to the video, I prayed for you, & your beautiful babies. May the Lord comfort you & make his presence clear he is with you. God Bless!

My sister and I had TTTS and she survived as well. We were born in the early 1990s. There’s only one picture that was taken a few days after our birth and while we were both very small, I was much smaller. I was pale and lifeless while she was red all over and her head was huge. I needed blood transfusions and she had to have blood drained. We have been through so much together. She’s my best friend.
My twin identical twins past away with this same syndrome on March 6, 1989. They would have been 34 years old now. I'm so thankful for your story and your boy's are beautiful and amazing.
Thank you so much. My girls were so sick inside of me and at one point I was seeing specialist often. Back then 34 years ago they didn't know much about it. After the passing of Kayla and Kelsey I made a decision that an optopsy be performed so that in hopes this would help other families in the future and there would be a cure to understand stand this. My identical boys with TTTS are 16 now. Born at 31 weeks. One 4 lbs the other 4.7. They are both healthy and strong now. But it was a rough start. I instinctively ate milkshakes and cookies everyday last few months of my pregnancy. And now Ive learned that TTTS calls for a very high calorie diet.

Ayyy, I weighed as much as a bag of flour too! Me and my twin sister were supposed to be triplets but the third egg didn't have a heart beat.I was very under developed and my identical twin sister took care of everything for me. A couple of weeks before we were born, doctors did a surgery to remove TTTS basically, but when that happened I didn't have much blood and my sister had lots. When we were finally born a month early, I was blue, and my sister was red. we had to stay overnight with my mother because we were born via c-section and I was very underdeveloped. Now I am healthy with just a couple lung spasms every couple years or so and live a great life with my sister. 😎👍✨

I also delivered a set of twins with ttts! It was 1963 and I knew there was a problem but it was never explained to me. I was very young and the circumstances around my pregnancy were terrible. My twins were adopted by a, what I now know, a lovely beautiful couple. It has only been 3yrs ago that my boys were brought back into my life by the grace of my Heavenly Father! Sorry, didn’t mean to go on like this. What have found out is because of the ttts they never left the hospital for 4 mths. Thank you for this information!
It's truly amazing what doctors can do these days! It's so great that you never gave up on your boys! It's incredible that babies are so resilient and strong to keep fighting to live through something so intense!
I’m so grateful your beautiful boys survived! My heart aches for those who lost twins to TTTS!! Our beautiful TTTS boys were the New Year’s Babies in 1980 in a small community in NE Minnesota. Born 18 days early via natural childbirth, Aaron weighed 6# 9-1/2 oz & 19”. 5 min. later, Ryan-in fetal distress- arrived and weighed 3# 14 Oz. and 17”. The attending pediatrician deemed him “a fighter”! It would be 2 years until we learned about TTTS. Now married and fathers of their own daughters, they are indeed a miracle!
Our daughter at the age of 22 was pregnant with identical twins, a miracle in itself as she had had a tube removed due to an eptopic pregnancy and was still pregnant with the twins. At 17 weeks she was diagnosed with TTTS, had laser therapy and lost one a few days later. This in itself is also heart breaking, having both twins scanned each time she went for a check up until Mark was born and then Jack who had not survived. Mark is going fine, but as pekka and speech problems but he is our miracle and a huge blessing.
MyTTT boys were born in 1998. I lost my donor twin at 30 weeks and my recipient twin was born by emergency c-section a week later. My living son was 4 pounds at birth, he is now 190, over 6 foot tall and I love him dearly, he holds my heart!
As the grandmother of out TTTS girls we prayed non stop and at 28 weeks our darling girls were born. One darling had CP but we fought hard to learn all the steps to her care. Her twin always had a mental connection and would warn us when a seizure was imminent. Learning to care for a handicapped child didn’t prevent our deep love for this truly spirited non-verbal soul. She sadly passed in 2021. She was almost 17 years old.😢
What a FANTASTIC MOTHER!!! I’m SO PROUD of you!!! I’m thrilled that everything turned out alright! Dad had so much faith that everything was going to be ok. What a GREAT HUSBAND!!! And your sweet little girl!!! Your beautiful family is richly blessed! Simply AMAZING!!! 🎊 🎉🥳
So glad they both survived. Life without your twin is hard. My twin sister was stillborn and I was 2 months early weighing 3lb9. We don’t know why my twin didn’t make it, she didn’t even get a name because it just wasn’t a thing but I named her Aimee.
My daughter had twin to twin transfusion. They were born at 26 weeks. Dustin was 1 lb 8oz Dylan was 1 lb 4 oz. Dylan was born with CP. They are 21 years old and very healthy. Nicki didn't have the option of surgery so they took out 2 liters of fluid every week until her placenta started to fail. Then they did a c section. Dylan had a 4 grade brain bleed and had a shunt put in his head to take off extra fluid at 1 day old. Thanks to all the doctors nurses and God they both are very healthy happy young adult men.
I am so happy for this family. Unfortunately, 20 years ago I lost my boys being six months pregnant to ttts. After seven long years of suffering with health problems and two more miscarriages I was blessed with two beautiful children. So, there is always a place for hope. God bless all you mothers, and your children!
Neighbors had TTTS twins at 29 weeks; neither had reached two pounds. They lived covered on their mother's chest for two months, taken off only to be cleaned or tubes changed in the day and for her to sleep some hours (not 8) on her side at night. Today they are flawless 10 year olds, running around in perfect health, which they luckily always had apart from being early and small.
My identical twin boys were born at term when I had just turned 17. I'm lucky, borh boys were healthy and good. Today they are 39, and I have 5 beautiful sweet granddaughters. I could not ask for a better life. ❤
I must share this with you I had just turned 17 and 4 months later my first child a beautiful girl was born she has 3 children my second child also a girl was born 17 months later she has the one son they were pregnant together and the boys are 20 days apart now 9 years old well they did the math and discovered I was only 17 when I had a baby....the one said that's only 1 year older than my oldest grandson and the other one said Jaja (that's what they call me) must be an alien 👽 💙 😅😅
I have identical twins and TTTS was one of our greatest fears. I am so glad, that everything went fine. They even were almost identical at birth at 36+0 with 2,5kgs. I love them ❤
This brought back so many memories of when I was pregnant with my twins.. we didnt have twin to twin but twin b had a slim chance of survival due to heart and lung diseases, we also got asked about aborting her and it could possibly cause issues for twin A (they arnt identical and they had their own sacks and placenta..so very different to your boys in that way)..but i felt the same feelings as you talked about..how could you let one go and have the other, knowing you let one go..I wouldn't be able to cope. Come delivery day the girls were born and I had that same goal all i wanted was to hear twin b cry..she made a squeaky cry and I knew she was fine. The twins are our 3rd and 4th babies. They are now 21 months and twin a is a little pocket rocket and twin b has her health issues and chromosomal abnormalities, 24/7 oxygen but she is smashing goals and the sweetest thing! Twin a was born 2.2kgs and twin b was 1.6kgs..born at 34 weeks..
I'm so very sorry you went through TTTS. I did as well with my boys in 1993. Thankfully, I was an inpatient & 34 weeks when they discovered the TTTS. After about a month in the NICU, they grew into strong, healthy boys. I also had a giant baby (9lb 2 oz) 3.5 years later
I am so happy that the twins managed to survive TTTS and are still going strong despite all the odds being against them, it is truly wonderful to see this! I am also very glad that their sister did not suffer the same problems and was delivered naturally at full term, I know she's obviously not a twin, but you get what I mean, as well as the parents being such warriors also. Also, I find it really sweet how you can still see the size difference between those boys even now they are in school, you'd certainly know who was who despite being twins! Great job to the hospital as well of course, they clearly did a tremendous job at looking after those boys and their mother whilst there, because both twins are still alive today!
Beyond amazing. Seeing them side by side after birth it seems impossible for Lincoln to survive but seeing him get big is truly a modern miracle. I cried when she said all she wanted was to hear a little cry at least…. Thinking he might die any moment all she wanted was such a small and humble ask. I think god had to bless her.
I lost my son at 28 weeks. Told everyone in hospital that I was in labour but no one belive me. Thank you Captain Wells who was at the BMH Rintell West Germany 11th August 1981 who worked on my son for over an hour trying to get him to breathe as he had a heart beat. But sad to say baby Ralph was not for this world 😢😢😢
So pleased it turned out OK for you and your family.. many years ago I nursed prem babies that had problems, they came to us from the maternity hospitals. I adored them and was so happy when they were able to go.home
Just 10 years ago there's nothing that could've been done and they both would've been lost. They (medical community) has tried and succeeded in finding methods to save twins with this issue. It's truly miraculous and thanks to those who came before and agreed to try unique and new methods.
This happened to my family 4 years ago. My wife and I were so happy to know that is will be twins, but, after two month we was shocked by news that everything points to TTTS. Since this moment we were waiting for a propriate time for specific surgery to separate babies placentas inside uterus. We checked weekly babies vitals to know if something becomes worse. After all, we made surgery at 22nd week. As doctor said - it's 50/50 that all will be ok, but it's 100% that childbirth will happen much earlier than usual 33-34 week. And at 24th week all went bad, bleading, unstable vitals... no one given a chance for our girls with weight 470g and 650g, but they survived, and won the battle for their lives. Now i have two wonderful girls and nothing remains about all this nightmares. Thanks all doctors and personnel who made all possible and impossible to save this little lives.
Never give up on life. I like that saying. My child was born with a chromosomal abnormality, and I too was given the option to abort. He's now a thriving teenager that I couldn't imagine life without. Never give up on life. Ever.
The mother and her story made me cry. Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. What a beautiful family. Hats off for the hospital that gave them the best outcome and the strength needed from each other (parents)!!! ❤❤❤
My twins were at risk for TTTS. The Drs had to induce me at 32 weeks or one of them would have died. They are both almost 5 years old now. The hardest part was leaving them in the NICU so I can go home and watch my other 5 kids. It was so hard leaving them behind but I made sure I got there every day and hold them.
My grandsons went through this. They were identical twins. They are now 30 and doing well. When they were born the first twin had to be given a blood transfusion. He was extremely white in color and the second twin was dark in color as he had the majority of blood A heart Dr had to check him out. I viewed the whole birth from a few feet thru a window. I saw the placenta put on a table right under the same window. You could see the one blood vessel across the placenta that they shared. 30 yrs ago they didn’t have much information on twin to twin syndrome. They were both studied and seen by traveling nurse very often for follow up and study
1 of my TTTS babies "stole" all the blood during delivery, that's how we explain it to others anyways, and how the doctors explained it to us. She was red like she was on fire, and the other was as pale as paper. It took months for them to even out. The crazy thing is, the 1 who was red, was the smaller one, the one all my doctors were the most worried about for blood loss during delivery. My girls think it's great because they can definitely tell who is who in their baby pictures 😂
It just amazes me just how strong those teeny tiny precious little babies are !!! And they picked the right Mom and Dad to show them the way !!! Thanks for sharing your miracles with me !!! 🙏❤️❤️❤️

I have miracle TTTS twin boys as well. They were diagnosed at 22 weeks and we were sent from Colorado to Washington state for emergency experimental surgery, this was 13 years ago. They made it without any dire consequences! I went into labor at 28 weeks and then again at 30 but the doctors were able to hold them off until 34 weeks. Boston was born 4 pounds 11 ounces and Jack was born 3 pounds. We were told there was a 60 percent chance that one would live when diagnosed, but I just knew they were fighters! Thankfully, we have two very healthy 13 years old teenage boys eating us out of house and home proving that miracles do happen! We are so thankful for the team of doctors we had around us!
😢😞. I got pregnant 2012 with identical twins, I was told they had TTT, I had a surgery done in Texas Children Hospital . They were born at 33 weeks they are Happy and Healthy and 10 yrs old .
I had a student who I think had this with her twin. Her twin was born healthy but she has cerebral palsy. Luckily her family care for her very well and got her the best power chair, signed her up for accessible activities etc
2 of my granddaughters went through the twin to twin transfusion problem. Sidney weighed 1 pound 3 oz and Allison weighed 3 pounds at birth. Both are severely handicapped with Rhett's syndrome. They need 24 hour intensive care. Happy your boys turned out healthy.
I .lost my identical twin girls to TTTS at 34 weeks almost 15 years ago . They died inutero. I had never heard of it and we were never warned of the risks. I am glad to see your happy ending
What a inspiring story, I was born one month early because my mother was pregnant with me and she had preeclampsia or toxic mania, I was born at 4lbs-9oz, and I had to stay in the hospital for 7 days because I was so fragile and tiny, when I was 2 years old, my dad diagnosed me with mild retardation, but I’m still a healthy adult and I have some medical problems, but I’m dealing with them.
I was pregnant with identical twin boys and the doctors would constantly have to monitor me for TTS. Every time the size/weight discrepancy increased between my twins, I would increase my protein intake and drank minimum 2L of water/day. I drank extra protein shakes in between meals and that would bring the twin fetus weight close to equal again. Not eating enough protein increases the risk for TTS. My twins were born 6lb and the other was 5lb 15oz. They were full term and healthy.
My sons are 28 now, they shared the same umbilical cord, I was watched and monitored from 6 months until I was hospitalized in my 8th month. Thankfully my small one wasn’t much smaller than his big brother and now he’s the largest of my children. I was hospitalized for 3 1/2 weeks at the end to try and keep them a little longer. They were delivered via emergency c section weighing 5lb 3 1/2 oz and 4lb 9 oz. My great grandmother had 7 sets of twins that died at birth from “stomach complications” which my Dr said was probably the same thing. She went on to have 13 living babies.
My mom had something I that. I had one brother born I was young so I don’t understand what happened but I’m glad to have a brother. I’m glad you have both of your miracle happen
My daughter was born 7 weeks ago on 10.11.2023 at the RHFW, too. As soon as she was delivered I knew by looking at her that she had down syndrome. Soon after that was confirmed for me with a genetic test. I hoped at least she'd be healthy, but she had a PDA and AVSD. She soon deteriorated and stopped suck feeding because of her severe work of breathing. She was whisked away to the newborn care centre, too and the care and attention she received was second to none. She went to westmead kids to have her PDA repaired. That was a success. She then came back to Randwick childrens hospital, which is next to the Royal. She is still here at the moment, but her work of breathing is mild and she does not need any breathing support. She is still on a feeding tube and we are trying to get her to increase her oral feeding stamina. She has an NG tube because getting her to grow and gain weight is the top priority so she can have her open heart surgery at 5 to 6kg. She is just now starting to gain weight. I pray 🙏 she continues on this positive trajectory as she is the light of my life and my soul mate and I can't wait to watch her grow and find a place in this world and I want to help her do just that. I also pray for anyone who has a sick child. May yours, too, be healed.❤
I had TTTS with my girls. We found out at 10 weeks...at the same time I found out I was pregnant. They were In the same sack and shared an umbilical cord. It was quite a shock! It is an extremely rare type of pregnancy. Thankfully, my pregnancy was amazing, and we had no complications. My girls were born at 35 weeks 5 days, weighing 5 lbs 4 oz and 4 lbs 6 oz. Baby A (the larger 1) went to NICU overnight due to loss of blood during delivery (c-section), but we knew that was a very real concern, so 15 nurses and 3 doctors were in the room for delivery to make sure each baby and I had the care needed. Baby A only spent a few hours away, and then she was back with her sister and I, and we all went home together 3 days later. They are 12 now and doing wonderful! Also, they have maintained almost the exact same weight difference, to the ounce, all this time. My doctor said the weight will only really change once they are old enough to control their diet and exercise habits. They are also still 1/2" different in height. Such an amazing thing!
Wow ! You have mo mo twins !! They are a miracle and I wanted twins so bad but mono twins is very serious and I’m so glad their cords didn’t tangle !! Take care !❤

She was almost 17 years old.😢
Such a beautiful family, they are blessed to have you as a grandmother! A praying grandma yields much fruit :)
Lost my twin girls to TTTS at 17 weeks six years ago. I mourn those little girls to this day and wish I could have had a chance to be their mom.
You Are their mom
Sorry for your loss. The same thing happened to my sister except she lost her twin boys at 13 weeks.
God, thank you so very much! This is so fantastic. I miscarried two sets of twins. This story makes my heart sing!
Bless your beautiful heart! I am so sorry for your loss. ❤
My daughter had this happen. Both twins were delivered. One twin was in level 2 the other ICU. Today they are 25. God is good. I believe in miracles.😊
😅
I am so happy for this family. Unfortunately, 20 years ago I lost my boys being six months pregnant to ttts. After seven long years of suffering with health problems and two more miscarriages I was blessed with two beautiful children. So, there is always a place for hope. God bless all you mothers, and your children!
What a beautiful story - and happy ending! Thank you for sharing your miracle and beautiful family with us!
I had to twin boys with this💔 Spencer lived 16 hours & Samuel lived for 3 days😇😇 They are my angels❤❤❤❤
Hugging you ❤
Neighbors had TTTS twins at 29 weeks; neither had reached two pounds. They lived covered on their mother's chest for two months, taken off only to be cleaned or tubes changed in the day and for her to sleep some hours (not 8) on her side at night. Today they are flawless 10 year olds, running around in perfect health, which they luckily always had apart from being early and small.
Such a joy to hear positive stories about loved babies in this crazy world we live in. Congratulations.
@@lauramaclagan3838 that is wonderful! Let me tell you what, being a single mom of twins is very hard. Both have mental health issues
I have identical twins and TTTS was one of our greatest fears. I am so glad, that everything went fine. They even were almost identical at birth at 36+0 with 2,5kgs. I love them ❤
Oh, the relief in my heart when I saw those boys grown!
Congratulations! And you made me laugh with the “giant baby” description! I bet it seemed so after your itty bitty ones!
May God bless you forever for choosing life! ❤ I can't imagine a life without my twin.
What a beautiful story! So filled with life and love!❤
Thank God for women like you who with your husband's support NEVER GAVE UP ❤
Just 10 years ago there's nothing that could've been done and they both would've been lost. They (medical community) has tried and succeeded in finding methods to save twins with this issue. It's truly miraculous and thanks to those who came before and agreed to try unique and new methods.
I believe this video was posted 7y ago and the twins were already about 8 to 10 years, so..
Ever.
Praise God!
Isn’t it sad that doctors are so quick to suggest abortion instead of trying to actually help? 😔
Ty for being willing to share this story...a story of hope! God Bless
@@TwinMama-jv3zb Thanks for sharing
I know a couple that went through this. Mom had an excellent doctor & the babies were born . Today, the twins are in their 20's and doing great!
It just amazes me just how strong those teeny tiny precious little babies are !!! And they picked the right Mom and Dad to show them the way !!! Thanks for sharing your miracles with me !!! 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Bless you all! So happy for you!
Thanks to the medical team and support that the family had!
😢😞.
I got pregnant 2012 with identical twins,
I was told they had TTT, I had a surgery done in Texas Children Hospital . They were born at 33 weeks they are Happy and Healthy and 10 yrs old .
Beautiful beautiful Godly story! Beautiful family!
Woa, he's so tiny, you had them just in the nick of time!! How beautiful
Thanks for having the courage to keep both! So happy they made it!
What an absolutely beautiful story. Nicole seems like such a great mother 💛 bless their family
What a brave mother! Thank you for saying yes to your two babies ❤
I had a student who I think had this with her twin. Her twin was born healthy but she has cerebral palsy. Luckily her family care for her very well and got her the best power chair, signed her up for accessible activities etc
This is a wonderful story. Thank you for not giving up on your babies, God was surely looking over them and you.
I lost both my daughters to TTTS. This video made me smile. Thank you for sharing💕
My mom had it with my sisters thankfully all babies are alright
Absolutely agree…don’t ever give up as parents. Much ❤to you and family.
tbh i feel like this shows just how impressive modern medicine has gotten.
Props to all of these people telling their stories in the comments. You guys have been through so much. ❤
What a heartwarming story! I think God Blessed you for honoring life ! These 3 children are beautiful ! May God Bless all of your lives ! ❤
So happy you never gave in to give up your precious babies. God bless you all.
My cousins sons, were only around two pounds when born, and they are graduated now!
Gosh, there's still a big difference in the size of the boys. I'm so glad they both made it, though.
I .lost my identical twin girls to TTTS at 34 weeks almost 15 years ago . They died inutero. I had never heard of it and we were never warned of the risks. I am glad to see your happy ending
What an amazing story with such a happy ending. Incredible
God bless your beautiful family and those who saved them!♥️
So very special. Bless you beautiful Mamma for sharing.
So glad they are happy and healthy❤ wishing the family and their loved ones nothing but the best❤
This video should start with a short definirion of what the syndrome actually is, I've never heard if it.
I haven't either. But I'm going to Google it and find out.
I love your story. I'm so glad it showed up, oddly on my suggestions
Beautiful children. Bless them always. 🌸❤️🌸❤️🐶❤️🐶❤️
What a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing the story of your miracle twins. ❤
How amazing and blessed your family is. God has saved your children for a purpose. I pray that your children will continue to grow and flourish.
I just saw two boys WOW HONEY GOD HAS BLESSED YOU FOR BEING A WONDERFUL PERSON. CONGRATULATIONS
God bless all of you! I'm so glad you didn't give up ❤
What a happy, moving story! May The Lord Jesus bless you and your husband and those beautiful children. May He bless the doctor that helped you!
My twin daughters died from this exact thing. I'm sorry your beautiful family went through this. God bless these gorgeous babies ❤❤❤
God is absolutely good. Thank you for encouraging other mothers-to- be. Jesus loves you and your beautiful family! Praise Him always!
My mom had something I that. I had one brother born I was young so I don’t understand what happened but I’m glad to have a brother. I’m glad you have both of your miracle happen
Very beautiful story thank you for sharing! Your babies are beautiful!
I'm so glad she chose not to terminate. It's sad how fast that option is offered and taken these days..
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful miraculous real life story I feel blessed to be able to hear this.
Children bring joy to our marriage and life. What a beautiful story. God bless them
Beautiful story! Now they are teenagers, right? Would be cool with an update.
Yes update will be great
Choosing life is never a mistake!
Seven years ago ❤ Hope the family is driving you crazy at times ❤ Thank you for sharing ❤ ❤❤❤To this wonderful family ❤❤
So happy the birth went well and you have 2 beautiful boys and a beautiful little girl, God is good, miracles happen.
God didn't do anything... unless you think he caused the problem in the first place. Fixing the problem was humans all the way.
What a wonderful miraculous story. May God continue to bless you all xx
