Flew my first ever drone tonight and it was this drone ordered less than 10 days ago. It was delivered in mint condition battery at least partially charged. Setup using the video here was easy and where I wasn’t too sure the instructions were sufficient. Auto take off was the best I got up and away first attempt and tentatively flew no more than a few metres high in and around myself. Found this real stable, controls weren’t over sensitive and within a few minutes I ventured about 10 metres away from myself. I even managed to land this about 6 times with no major upsets. It was dark and we are having some cold breeze in Ireland atm and this did affect the drone somewhat. One small issue which was down to my “noob” flying skills and I dropped the power before I caught a fence but all in all I can’t wait to get out in daylight with the extra batteries I’ve ordered. It’s weird the video works good inside and freezes when I’m outside. I’ve noticed several WiFi popping up on my phone in my area. Could this cause the video to freeze?

Update: I am not sure if this is a condition with my 8807 but when flying wifi It has on fallen from the sky without notice (about 20ft away) and the range is quite limited. However without wifi it flies great, has good flight time and range (I no longer fly with prop guards) for a toy grade copter. I have to say this copter is more durable than I had imagine. It has fallen from considerable heights while in flight and even one time onto the asphalt driveway and it did not sustain any damage. I have also crashed hard a few times with no damage only to losing a few prop caps. I give it a two thumbs up for being a fun flyer.

I tried it but it lose control over me like just around 5 to 6 feet away and luckily got it landed right by the road side and right before a passing by vehicle! Ps is pretty fast and fun crashed mine but made numbers with white tippex marker to remember important buttons, good fun I have so regret buying it, even tho I no longer play with it as novelty has worn off, hope you enjoy xad

I received my 8807 today and was surprised that it arrived so quickly. Although this is my second quad (the first having flown away on its maiden flight) this will be my trainer since I'm new to quad flying. I've really enjoyed the flight experience and I should up my skills in a short time. The quad feels really light but it flies great in windy conditions. The only problem that I've had, and its is minor, is one of the legs was slightly defective and would not remain locked in position - however crazy glue made a quick fix of that. So I got a surprise message in the mail. The package is ready for collection at the post office! And this in less than two weeks from ordering (shipping was supposed to be 15-28 working days). Super impressed. I'm picking it up tomorrow! :D
Hi there I have this drone and it is really worth it's money and was my intro to the hobby. Actually they really had a version with the visual positioning I saw it myself in china. There was a cam just before the battery door hatch . At the time I know nothing about these drones so I took the 8807 W version because the cam image was better then the one which had a two cams. I managed to get almost 30 min flight time in this thing. I used a 3.7V 2500mAh 18650 battery to which I soldered a hat connector. It fits in the hatch if you keep the set up slim. Just need trim a bit to the forward since the battery 18650 is a bit heavier then the stock. Another similar drone Visio 809 but that has a proprietory battery. They still sell it so it's a recommended for first timers.

No, and Gearbest support seems unable to resolve that question, although TheRCSailors in this very test states "It's JST, so they don't do a proprietary battery" (@ 01:45 minutes). I ordered a spare for the VISUO XS809W, hope that one fits.
The only extra batteries I found on GearBest for it was 850mA batteries. I got 2 for $12.52. They're a little bit smaller in size too. The only thing is that they all take forever to charge, at least 2 hours.
I agree, I really enjoy the flight time with this Drone. I bought 3 units, because it's low price. Well... There is no service center or spare parts for toy grade Drones here, so I choose cheap Drones and buy 2-3 units. One for taking videos/pictures for advertisement, and others for backups. I actually bought this for a friend whom I will be getting into the hobby. But for now will withhold the gift as I will be teaching him 4 channel line of site flying on the v911. I have to admit I ran across your videos quite by accident. I was looking to purchase some "Toy Grade" drones and decided to UA-cam some of the models I was interested in. So glad I found you guys on here. I appreciated your non biased reviews and because of that I ended up purchasing "8807hd g drone" and the "Hubsan 502E X4". I have to admit I love the GPS feature on the Hubsan drone. My goal is to eventually own a DJI MAVIC PRO - We shall see!!! LOL - Keep up the awesome reviews!!

great video guys . its the exact drone i bought and it just arrived in the post so im looking to learn how to fly it. i hope mine flys as good as that one. my only problem with videos like this is noone ever shows footage of which buttons youre pushing . i want to learn to fly it and i cant if i dont know what buttons to press to do certain things . apart from that , great job

This is an old review and I ordered it when u did the review. I been in the hospital for a long time n just hitting my drones out of the boxes. This one of mine had no optical in the bottom and the manual clearly said it had barometric alt hold. Bummer is the app is no longer in the play store same as my BayangToys X 21 dual gps I had bought. What do we do bout that?? Any suggestions??

Just ordered one but wondering what camera yours has? the one I got is 700w 720p cam on it at about $65 I know the other model they have is the one with the 300w 480p cam for bout what you paid but I just want to make sure :) thanks
I got one soon after watching this review when it first came out. For the price it's a really good beginner drone with the very good altitude hold. The only thing is if you bump one of the props against something the little chrome caps on the props will pop off. I've already lost one. There are 2 extra spares that come with it though. I also got 2 extra batteries but could only find 850mA ones at that time. Amazon has four 900mA batteries with a 4-port charger for $25 now. I will be getting that soon. Another thing is it would be nice if the drone or the transmitter would beep when the battery got low rather than just the lights flashing which are kinda hard to see in bright daylight. When the lights flash you still have enough time to bring it in close and land it. I checked the battery and it was down to around 3.5 volts. I would recommend buying it as it's easy and fun to fly.
Update 9/30/18: Now for some reason the drone will randomly just drop out of the sky. It doesn't matter the distance away from the transmitter or how long ti's been flying. The battery will still have plenty of juice in it. The drone will still be powered on but won't fly until I rebind it and the transmitter. Maybe the ESC is overheating I don't know. Right now I wouldn't recommend buying it.
Update 9/30/18: I may be unintentionally pushing the right joystick down which is the emergency stop that stops the props turning. Or the contacts in that switch may be randomly making contact and shutting the motors off. Going to check out some other things.
Update 10/5/18: The problem with the drone dropping out of the sky is the left stick on the controller. When I move the stick down to about half way down from the center position the power will just cut off permanently. I just can't raise the stick up to start the motors again. I have to push the start button to get the motors to run like at the beginning of a flight. I don't know if it's a bad stick or what's going on. Maybe more on this later.
Just took mine for its maiden flight. It is very light but handled the wind quite well considering. I was back yard flying so it helps that its a pretty stable quad. Everything just works so far. No flips etc yet until I hit the fields. Very impressed with the camera quality. Yes its not the best quality build in the world but for the money total bargain.

I get 10 gbs a month w my phone plan The reason I ask is bc I live next tot the airport Here in ca and it’s a no drone fly zone bc it’s also a school for flying. Can I use my hotspot : cus I would have to drive to the park . Also can it be used remotely like radio if you run out of data????
I need a small controller (transmitter) like the one with this drone and a receiver that I can put on a 2 channel RC robot base (a wheelchair base being converted to RC control). What I really was trying to find was a one handed remote that had one joy stick (L/R, F/R) but I can't find that. Do you know if the receiver can be removed from this drone and used elsewhere like a Futaba receiver? This tiny controller would work nicely for me if only the receiver can be pulled from the drone and used for my other RC application. Thanks for any insight!!

Great question! Yes, this is still a very viable option than thousands of people have picked up as their first drone as well! The controller pretty much resembles the Syma ones. Definitely a 2 thumbs up on this one. Excellent video Nate & Abby!! :)

No, and Gearbest support seems unable to resolve that question, although TheRCSailors in this very test states "It's JST, so they don't do a proprietary battery" (@ 01:45 minutes). I ordered a spare for the VISUO XS809W, hope that one fits.

The only extra batteries I found on GearBest for it was 850mA batteries. I got 2 for $12.52. They're a little bit smaller in size too. The only thing is that they all take forever to charge, at least 2 hours.

I agree, I really enjoy the flight time with this Drone. I bought 3 units, because it's low price. Well... There is no service center or spare parts for toy grade Drones here, so I choose cheap Drones and buy 2-3 units.
One for taking videos/pictures for advertisement, and others for backups. Nice Reviews and Good luck :)

Thanks for the review. I just purchased this quad from Gearbest and hopefully will be at my doorstep in less than 30 days (shipping from China). I actually bought this for a friend whom I will be getting into the hobby. But for now will withhold the gift as I will be teaching him 4 channel line of site flying on the v911. I do hope this quad ( I refuse to call these drones) flys well and works out. Thanks for the review!
I'm sure you guys will have a great experience with this :) You sound like a very good friend too! I don't blame you about calling them quads rather than drones. We used to resist, but eventually just gave in when we saw manufacturers calling them drones as well

Since I know how to fly, I want to inspire him and just maybe, this will spark his desire to do more. Today I sent him home with a Syma coax to start him off. Wish me luck! So glad I found you guys on here. I appreciated your non biased reviews and because of that I ended up purchasing "8807hd g drone" and the "Hubsan 502E X4". I have to admit I love the GPS feature on the Hubsan drone. My goal is to eventually own a DJI MAVIC PRO - We shall see!!! LOL - Keep up the awesome reviews!!

great video guys . its the exact drone i bought and it just arrived in the post so im looking to learn how to fly it. i hope mine flys as good as that one. my only problem with videos like this is noone ever shows footage of which buttons youre pushing . i want to learn to fly it and i cant if i dont know what buttons to press to do certain things . apart from that , great job

That's the actual recording. This drone isn't meant to set any quality records. It's just a well rounded, fun to fly RC ;)
This is an old review and I ordered it when u did the review. I been in the hospital for a long time n just hitting my drones out of the boxes. This one of mine had no optical in the bottom and the manual clearly said it had barometric alt hold. Bummer is the app is no longer in the play store same as my BayangToys X 21 dual gps I had bought. What do we do bout that?? Any suggestions??

I got one soon after watching this review when it first came out. For the price it's a really good beginner drone with the very good altitude hold. The only thing is if you bump one of the props against something the little chrome caps on the props will pop off. I've already lost one. There are 2 extra spares that come with it though. I also got 2 extra batteries but could only find 850mA ones at that time. Amazon has four 900mA batteries with a 4-port charger for $25 now. I will be getting that soon. Another thing is it would be nice if the drone or the transmitter would beep when the battery got low rather than just the lights flashing which are kinda hard to see in bright daylight. When the lights flash you still have enough time to bring it in close and land it. I checked the battery and it was down to around 3.5 volts. I would recommend buying it as it's easy and fun to fly.
Update 9/30/18: Now for some reason the drone will randomly just drop out of the sky. It doesn't matter the distance away from the transmitter or how long ti's been flying. The battery will still have plenty of juice in it. The drone will still be powered on but won't fly until I rebind it and the transmitter. Maybe the ESC is overheating I don't know. Right now I wouldn't recommend buying it.
Update 9/30/18: I may be unintentionally pushing the right joystick down which is the emergency stop that stops the props turning. Or the contacts in that switch may be randomly making contact and shutting the motors off. Going to check out some other things.
Update 10/5/18: The problem with the drone dropping out of the sky is the left stick on the controller. When I move the stick down to about half way down from the center position the power will just cut off permanently. I just can't raise the stick up to start the motors again. I have to push the start button to get the motors to run like at the beginning of a flight. I don't know if it's a bad stick or what's going on. Maybe more on this later.

Just took mine for its maiden flight. It is very light but handled the wind quite well considering. I was back yard flying so it helps that its a pretty stable quad.
Everything just works so far. No flips etc yet until I hit the fields.
Very impressed with the camera quality.
Yes its not the best quality build in the world but for the money total bargain.

I need a small controller (transmitter) like the one with this drone and a receiver that I can put on a 2 channel RC robot base (a wheelchair base being converted to RC control). What I really was trying to find was a one handed remote that had one joy stick (L/R, F/R) but I can't find that. Do you know if the receiver can be removed from this drone and used elsewhere like a Futaba receiver? This tiny controller would work nicely for me if only the receiver can be pulled from the drone and used for my other RC application. Thanks for any insight!!
