Not sure if I like the fact that you had to get rid of all the DJI stuff to get it to fly like a real drone or if I think it should be able to do so without swapping everything.
Seems like a crappy frame for FPV :D
now you gotta do the opposite and put the dji parts in a carbon fiber frame

thing is...with fpv drones, you can modify the way it flies according to the frame it is in..... but with dji internals, it could be 50/50. unless the new frame tou put it into has the same motors,props same distance between motors and same center of gravity

Sleeper phantoms are old news. Seen Mavics refitted too. Both flew better than this jello fest..

Now that’s a drone! I bought the mavic mini as my first camera drone and have loved it. I just finished building my first fpv drone and it flies so much differently! Great video!

I think the best part about this is, you can fold it into pocket size. And when you're going out flying and start unfolding it, anybody would think you got an fpv-quad until it gets airborne.

Or you could've just went into the camera settings on the mini and changed it to FPV mode and not void the warranty by disassembling it the way you did 🤷♂️

I think dji will be releasing the dji fpv mini in 2022. But I think it will be a cinewhoop style quad.

Got a lot of jello on that footage, you should definitely put an nd filter on that Session
An ND filter is not a magic jello remover, it could maybe help a bit by adjusting the exposure time but with that amount I'm pretty sure it wouldn't make the footage good looking :/

I really loved the whole process . Great video. Only a suggestion as an upgrade to be even more like the Mavic mini and also not seeing the props . Would a fpv split cam have enough room inside to fit in the body ? Something like the runcam split or from firefly split 4k . So that you don't have the camera on top .
Hey thank you! I agree a hybrid 4K split fpv camera would make a nice addition. I just didn't have one available. Also, though, I think having the gopro on the top makes it seem even more like a wannabe FPV drone and adds to the absurdity! 😂

Building a mavic how it should have came from factory lol. I'm looking into mounting mavic motors onto a darwin baby ape frame since it has the correct motor mount holes.
Why would you do this? Loose a Camera Drone to make an FPV Drone. one crash later and you’ve lost both. Then what? Buy an fpv frame and start with that? Makes no sense. Some things just shouldn’t be replicated, people. But hey, it’s yours so do with what you will.
Didn't you need the FS-iA6B Receiver or similar module was already built-in the flight controller?
Kinda sad to see the DJI electronics go, at this point, you could have just bought a faulty Mavic mini and did it on that to save you some money
loved you kept the dji moros, i was wondering how pucnhy those could be, im doing the some but with the cloolest clone i could find and am dong a build for max flight time and better fpv, its more of just a fun roller coaster is what im building and want to keep the battery at 20 min min, 40 would be a big bonus if what i need is around.
Why the hell would anyone tear a DJI Mini apart to build an FPV drone instead of directly buiding an FPV drone?

You should put a Dji fpv air unit in it...then there would be a mavic that was compatible with Dji goggles since they fully shit on the community and havnt included support in the mavic air 2s
I did this. I kept getting run away shutdowns because the frame was too flexable. Considering reinforcment.

Ummm I am actually going to do the opposite with my new DJI FPV. I am going to remove all of the electronics from it and put it on my own custom carbonfiber frame so I can save weight and not have to worry about breaking it. Because lets face it the DJI line of frames are freaking WEAK!!
