  • 2021 has had many movies but the end of the year report clearly shows that #Pushpa has become the most successful indian film of the year. The film starring #AlluArjun has amassed a huge fan following and its only growing as it has become available on #AmazonPrimeVideo but was my assessment of the film wrong when I saw it in theatres. Here's me looking at my review and seeing where I must have faltered. I hope you like the Pushpa Review & Analysis.

North India? Really? I am from Assam...And Allu Arjun is far more poular here as compared to Bollywood actors.

Sometimes story doesn't need to have twists when screenplay is so engaging.

A couple of points that I disagreed/ felt were missed in both versions of the review. Firstly, I felt Keshava's character is extremely memorable. Secondly, the soundtrack is not average but rather above average - Srivalli, Oo Antava and Ey Bidda are all worth putting on a playlist

As a Tamilian I loved the movie. I was not a Allu Arjun fan. His performance was mass. I'm a huge Fahad Fasil fan. His intro just spiked my interest

I personally feel there was more to each character development so they took it in a slow pace to pick it up in next movie so not every character gets hyped up and may look faded out now, so that in upcoming movie audiance's should not feel that they are witnessing underwhelming performance due to their anticipation

When I saw pushpa in theatre I was very dissatisfied as i am very found of sukumar's films from Arya -2 till now. But when I saw the movie in ott the 2nd time my perspective of viewing the movie changed. Pushpa (the rise) is just an introduction to the world and characters of pushpa, nothing more. When this thing was kept in mind, only then I was able to enjoy the film in which way the director intended it to .

Modern day reviewer: Not worried about the ethics of the Main lead being a smuggler coz it is honest to the narrative

Being from the same locality as the story is set to happen, I can say that the accuracy of local accent (I'm sure intensity of those dialogues lost in dubbing and subtitle translations) and mindset of people in this region which leads them to respond in a certain way (like Rashmika reactions in romantic scenes or AA's mom responding to various situations), are spot on.

The mistake that many Bollywood studios often make is that they underestimate the significance of the lowest common denominator audience. No matter the quality of their taste, they play a humongous role in the success or failure of a film and you can't really afford to ignore them no matter how big a studio you might be. Not a fan of Salman but he was kinda right in stating that certain Bollywood filmmakers think India starts and ends in South Bombay.

As a mass film, it works just right. Story was interesting and can't wait for Fahad vs AA in the next film!

I am super proud of the movie. It has in a way joined north and south india culturally. Both Chennai express and chetan bhagat alia-arjun movie did a terrible job of doing that. This movie has moments, that soo accurately captures how we all feel, that it gives me immense pleasure. If you missed this one then you are one of those who stay in their own bubble of posh hyper local narratives and fear of cancel culture.

Regarding the perversion (1000 rupee and 5000 rupee scenes) that you mentioned, I felt that scene was waaayy cleaner and innocent compared to the vulgarity and sleazefest in bollywood and OTT.

When people starts bashing a movie because it didn't satisfy their artistic and aesthetic preferences ,they have to remember these are movies made for the mass audience to enjoy and the baseline is just entertainment. so there is no need to find logic .

Honestly even though the writting of the film is not mind blowing and the romantic angle was not something that I liked still I enjoyed watching the film especially the climax.Allu-Faahad magic🔥🔥

Srivalli didn't fall in love because of (1000 or 5000 rs) money. She herself clarified it in the later part of the movie when she went to ask pushpa for help. Either you are blind or deaf or you completely ignored that scene. I watched the movie in telugu if they changed the dialogues in hindi then its not your fault.

Jammy. Have to disagree with a part of your analysis. When you set out to make a 2 part movie; you have the opportunity to explore all aspects of ones life.

I am a fan of Allu Arjun. The genre and Bunny's acting was the main reason for the success in Bollywood. The movie has it's emotional highs and elevation scenes.

What's really under appreciated is your effort to understand the other side of any argument as well as fostering the same sense of constructive discussion in your community unlike most content creators and influencers, both locally and globally. You've taught people like me a lot of things, including elevating our inclusivity of content across languages, genres, and target audiences.

This movie was a big surprise for my analytical and critical brain towards mass entertainment movies also. I couldn't help getting engrossed in the masaala with ultimate swagger of Allu Arjun. It was like watching an old 70's Amitabh movie with all the action, drama, comedy, surprise twists, mixed bag of characters fitting in as needed...that is what clicked with Hindi speaking audience to become a blockbuster...nostalgia and paisa vasool. Even you, Jammy, are looking forward to watching the next part...that itself is a winner 🏆.
