If Aliens have the ability to come to Earth, then we are completely at their mercy. It’s not like in the movies where we magically win the fight if they attack.....If they have the technology to easily get yo earth then they’ll probably have farrrr superior weaponised technology too. It would be like a caveman fighting a Jet equipped with an arsenal of nukes.
I'm confused about the last line of the speech asking will we be the colonists or the Aztecs. Does he see the only two choices as basically kill or be killed? Seems there should be a bit more nuance...maybe I am just misinterpreting.
I think this reflects a destructive nature of human being, like you said, kill or be killed. On my opinion this is sad. Just because human beings are destructive, does not mean that other alien species (if there are any) are the same and seek only selfish needs, like to take others in order to reproduce more and take over the universe essentially. I would say here that there is also a possibility for a third option: peace between species in order to work cooperatevely and seek technological advancement and universe exploration together, with sharing resources and knowledge. Maybe there are fourth option, and fifth... and even more. I think we need to stop taking, but encourage giving in everyday life.
obuoliuks I think that a taker is more likely to evolve than a giver. that's just basic Darwinism. maybe once a taker becomes intelligent they can see the benefit of mutual giving, but I don't think a giver will survive in an environment where there is a taker, you can look at our own history for that. a perfect example is Columbus' encounter with the (was it Cubans?). I think that humans are on some level going through this problem right now- realizing the need to be givers but still being hard wired to be takers.
No just in recorded history contact between a more and a less advanced civilisation has always ended badly for the less advanced one. Which side of this we will be on is all his analogy about Aztecs was about. No deeper human nature etc
I like to think: If we were to 'magic' up an interstellar star-drive tomorrow and travel the galaxy, then we happened upon some bronze age intelligent alien life (whether humanoid or not) would _we_ either kill them or just lay down and die in front of them? I rather think we'd try helping them and learning all about them, while minimising our impact upon their development. I think we'd behave this way because we've grown intellectually, socially and morally almost immeasurably over the last few centuries. I can't imagine this progress being reversed, either, only improved upon. Thus (and I recognise that I'm projecting, here) I'd expect that an alien culture reaching our current level of technology would also go through similar social, moral and intellectual growth. Thus, it's entirely within the realm of possibility that if intelligent aliens do indeed exist, and if they were to one day come calling, that they might only be interested in helping us, in learning from us and in teaching us.
@Leander Herman I can't be certain either. I mean, for all we know, the first alien race that might come calling, might consider Blood Sacrifice the most honorable manner of death. They might believe in their ways so devoutly that they would never dream of forcing anyone to submit to becoming a blood sacrifice against their will. HOWEVER, they would *CLEARLY* be millennia ahead of us technologically. They might be entirely happy to share their technology with us, but before they do this, we would need to prove to them that our people are as "spiritually" devout as they are. Thus we might need to find (for example) 50,000 people willing to sacrifice their lives on the blood altar and in return, the aliens would share with us tech that would eliminate all disease in all living beings on Earth. They might demand that we find 5 million willing and eager blood sacrifices before they will share with us the technological secrets that would allow us to travel freely and easily throughout our solar system. It might be as high as 50 million *willing* blood sacrifices for them to teach us how and to share with us the tech that would allow us to terraform a Mars sized planet in only 9 months. Ultimately, to be able to travel between the stars, they might require that we find 1 billion people who are willing to sacrifice their lives on the blood altar, before they share with us the in depth knowledge and tech to be able to perform interstellar travel as easily as we travel in aeroplanes, and to accomplish such travel without having to worry about stasis booths/ time dilation/ etc... Now that's just a random example off the top of my head. And yet, I can't help but wonder; if this exact scenario were to play out in August of this year, would we as a society be willing to accept such measures? While the death toll would be no less than horrendous, we'd be eliminating disease for all future generations. We'd be able to colonise the moon, Mars, Venus and the Jovian moons and be able to live on them as easily as if we were living on Earth. We'd be able to travel to the farthest flung stars and terraform what planets we find there and live on them too. And all the while, we'd be able to do so without ever having to worry about any diseases that might otherwise afflict us... In such a scenario, I have no doubt that all world governments would offer their prison populations as blood sacrifices, which is why- in this scenario- I stipulated that each and every sacrifice must be willingly offered, not compelled (but then the governments would simply offer rich rewards to the families of anyone willing to sacrifice themselves and once again, it would be the poor people who find themselves dying for the benefit of the rich)...

This isn’t very logical, as it assumes that aliens do exist, are watching us, and are capable of contacting and controlling us, none of which has been proven.
Contact with who or what? If someone else like humans and 10,000 light years away you can not contact them nor them you. Unless of course they come in crafts that can go beyond the speed of light. Contact otherwise would take 20,000 years there and back if you could even send a readable message. By that time we could have expired on Earth or they may have 5,000 years ago. If they were in another Galaxy we would most likely ever know. It takes humans over 50 years just to get to outer edges of our solar system. 10,000 light years would be over 2 million years of travel at our technology. There are no worm holes and even if they exist where do they end up at? I am afraid Star Trek and others have given us a impression of possible things that there is no power on Earth that can do things such as. Have a 50,000 ton space craft go anywhere need the Speed Of Light. Light has no mass. Transfer our bodies over great distances. You can not just appear 1 light year away unless you had device capable at both ends. Any contact will be made by THEM. Then it is in their ball park since they own all the marbles.
Too late. We have been strobe lighting the galaxy with radio waves, space probes, radar beacons, etc. for decades. Even if we suddenly went radio silent, ET's looking for us would detect the noise for centuries as the signals slowly come to them.
Those are only extreme conditions for us, not extreme conditions for other life - those are completely normal for them. Call them normalophiles. XD Seriously we don't know what extremeophiles are like - we only have conditions measured here on Earth. It goes quite a bit colder, hotter, or chemically (at least for carbon-based life) wildly extreme settings.
Finding microbiological life is a natural step for science and maybe a good stepping stone for the global population. Because we all know they are out there, we need to get ready for it.
The story of Humanity, Extraterrestrials, Beings, Spirits, Souls Etc... is a complex one. Earth and its inhabitants are more likely a Prison with very limited contact if at all with the outside that being the rest of the inhabited universe but with little control and manipulation it's minimal considering human's current technology and inability to communicate effectively very far or travel what humans think as vast distances.
Gene Jordan- you are thinking of abilities we have as humans with our human intellect. We don’t have the capabilities to even begin to understand advanced technology. So no, it’s not possible with the possibilities we can imagine as humans. But they don’t have our primitive thinking. Spiders don’t think of flying in airplanes but we do. It doesn’t mean it’s not possible at all, just not possible for a spiders thought capacity. {Hint: we’re the spiders!}
To the final question: Why is there only these two options??? Why can we not co-exist with other species? I think we should learn that first. And we need to do it here on earth, where there are millions of other species we now either drive to extinction or enslave for our needs(comfort)...
The questrion is really "who's more developed - intelligent?" If we are the colonists - we're smarter. The Aztecs will want what we have tech wise while they'll have what we want resource wise. If we give them the tech they will use their resources (which we want) to make it, and not only that, but we'll have competitors who are inexperienced with said tech. Doesn't that kind of sound like a disaster? Sometimes you have to use others for the sake of humanities future before they use us.
Actually there is one single option for the Aliens. If they are to travel all this way then: 1. They are most likely so far advanced then our Human Race. 2. Their biosphere is not going to be the same as ours. 3. If they wish to stay. If? Who is going to travel 1000 light years just to say hello and return home? 4. When they decide to stay then they want our planet to be a livable place for them. 5. Change our atmosphere to 4000ppm co2(.4%) 14% oxygen, 84% Nitrogen , 1% Argon etc. This leaves us Humans out of the picture. Now to answer your question. Why Can't we co-exist with other species? If you take a look at human history the question will be answered. Because humans are all wanting to be in charge anyway possible. If it is not by religion then by pure force. Empire after empire and now every country battling for their piece of the pie. If it were not for Armies, police and protection then others will take what you have just because they can. Most humans do not think the same as others. It is about their God, beliefs, way they wish to control others with an iron fist. It does not look good when E.T comes to visit us especially finding out how violent humans have been since the Dawn of Man. It is said out of the last 3400 years only 270 have been without wars. If you were an Alien and you knew this then how would you act? 100 million humans lost their lives in WWI & WWII. This and others through out history spin a true tale about human humanity towards others of their kind. Then look at how we treat animals and other species on this planet. With complete disdain to just kill them for profit or the fun of it. Co-exist with Aliens? Tell me the 8 billion human inhabitants on Earth are all going to turn over a new leaf. If King Kong comes from afar it will be the new master of our Jungle.......
And who are we to say that they are going wayyy out of their way. 2000 light years? It might be a 5 minute travel for them though a wormhole. So many if´s.
Given what science can understand about evolution. We know species rise to the top of the food chain being predators like our species. And a alien civilisation with technology to travel to our planet will have a much longer time frame. Hundreds of thousands or millions of years ahead of us with technology. They will plan out ahead of time what they want to take from us and how could we stop them
I had real contact because I found the answer to life, the universe and everything. It seems that they're only interested in someone who also knows the ultimate secret of the universe. I published my science research. You can study it if you want to know the answer. But it is suitable for well educated people only. I surpassed all space agencies on Earth, which makes me the space champ on Earth. I did my research alone I never worked for any space agency nor science lab. Obviously it was the right choice. And I'm still young having it. Huge win for me I can say! Now we live in the Age of having the ultimate answer of the universe.
"Aztecs ceased to exist". Considering they were a warrior society surviving on the slavery and subjugation of other peoples, and even practicing horrendous human sacrifices, maybe their demise was a good thing.
Earth like =Like Earth, it means those planets within the "Goldie Locks Zone" an area in orbit around a sun where a planet is neither too hot nor too cold to support life. If Mars wasn't smaller which resulted in less mass and thus less gravity; it would have held onto it's atmosphere and probably been more Earth Like, had Venus had a history that promoted green house gasses, it too might have been more like earth.
I don't know of any Nation that has a codified First Contact protocol. If such exists, then by keeping it Secret, the entire purpose of the protocol is short circuited.
I disagree with his comment on Charles Darwin and his work affecting faith groups. I believe that his work and the science that has followed has directly lead to the growth of atheist Europe today.
mxuk There are more than 2.18 bn Christians and 1.6 bn Muslims plus others of different faiths, so at a global level it is not really fair to say that Darwin's work, whilst one of the pivotal discoveries in life science, has shaken faith. Europe too has more people that identify as having faith than athiests. I agree with you that Darwin's work has most likely led to a growth in athiesm but faith is still a strong basis of human culture worldwide.
Steve Pointing Don't forget that most people in Pakistan and The Gulf have never even heard of Darwin, as evolution is banned from the curriculum there/as well as the fact that many people don't have access to education.
So, the extremophiles discovered on earth were using photosynthesis to create their food, but, did they need water, and, co2, to produce their food, and, waste oxygen?! I understand that around undersea volcanic vents, there's a food chain, starting with the chemicals expelled from the vents, and, the superheated waters, creating a chemosynthesis, at the base of THIS food Chain! Do the heated chemicals provide the energy AND food required to start THESE chains?!
Also humans being probably the only species on a planet that pays money to pump the most important thing in life, water into our houses to poop in one day and two weeks later brushing our teeth with the same water or ask a human what is the closest star to Earth that you can see and 9 times out of 10 they will look right pass the one we named Sun.
I already know what humanity would be like after alien contact. Just look around. The impact of the discovery of alien extraterrestrial life is easily measured. It's impact is enormous! There are billions of professed Christians on this planet. This would not have happened without the alien extraterrestrial encounter which occurred almost 2000 years ago! . John 8:23 So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world. . . If you carefully examine the events of this well documented extraterrestrial encounter you should realize that their technology far exceeds anything we could possibly imagine! . Why would anyone think that alien contact might disturb someones faith? . .

To bad he had to go into religion for a bit. People and their gods and religions. And off course we are going to be the colonists. We are the survivors of our brutal ancestors... It is what we do. We are not here to take part, we are here to take over :p

You can have that now, given the insane views of the rainbow crowd. A big guy named derek wearing a dress who believes he is a alien, you have happy times with him
In my opinion, it's dead incorrect about different times in history when religion and faith were shaken or worse replaced by discoveries in science many people have changed their minds and viewpoints over the years, In the future when extrasolar life is a reality religion and faith will be even more shaken if not start major downfall. Yes, there are still quite a few people that " Are of a Fayth" but their devoutness to me is very questionable in comparison to those of antiquity if not entirely of a different nature. I think most of the major religions will continue to justify the old viewpoints and survive but newer ones will incorporate a new paradigm to fit with other new life and beings outside our Earth.
Yea, actually according to the bible, the aliens are the angels, from the bible. Ezekiel describes a round craft that flew back and forth like lightning. Not like a bat or a bird. The round craft is described as a wheel with wheels and a crystal dome over the top. And the living God, and the angels are Spirit beings as well as physical. It is written we are created in God's image. That means that they are physical beings. And they were able to create Adam and Eve, nearly 10, 000 years ago. They created us with their DNA. And they don't have green skin. It's the clothing that they wear. Just like people they wear clothing. And the angels are actually physical beings, just like the devils are. The devils are the predators, if you have watched the movie. Prededor. The movie is based on a true story.
Controlled storytelling - So they don't have to compensate the individuals and families that were threatened, silenced, lost their jobs etc, for half a century. A very nice story - for little children .
Life is so rare given the millions of accidental things that must randomly occur before it happens that any other minimally intelligent beings that might possibly exist would be so rare in the universe they are probably millions of light years away and would go extinct before ever leaving their own solar systems little own visit ours.

Gene Jordan- you are thinking of abilities we have as humans with our human intellect. We don’t have the capabilities to even begin to understand advanced technology. So no, it’s not possible with the possibilities we can imagine as humans. But they don’t have our primitive thinking. Spiders don’t think of flying in airplanes but we do. It doesn’t mean it’s not possible at all,
just not possible for a spiders thought capacity. {Hint: we’re the spiders!}
inhospitable really is just a matter of perspective...
To the final question: Why is there only these two options???
Why can we not co-exist with other species?
I think we should learn that first. And we need to do it here on earth, where there are millions of other species we now either drive to extinction or enslave for our needs(comfort)...
The questrion is really "who's more developed - intelligent?"
If we are the colonists - we're smarter.
If they are to travel all this way then:
He's wrong about why Bruno was burned at the stake.
Great talk
Good talk
Who are the missionaries, the humans or the extraterrestrials?
See ‘to the stars academy’ alien contact with this planet is now being rolled out making this somewhat redundant.
faith is an unreliable method for determining true belief.
I would postulate that from a larger perspective, that ultimately, humanity evolves and survives, albeit,at a very high price.
Check out "All Tomorrows " by C.M. Koseman, it has amazing illustrations. Your comment made me think of it.
Aliens: ok primitive humans, you're our slaves now. Get to mining! *Whip!*
If widespread religion is affected by alien life is dependent upon if the right people get to speak
Wherever there is Atmosphere there is Life. Life takes hold in any kind of eviroment with a Atmosphere.i had a vision
It's sad one has to be bullied to be secure like that.
If the Pope baptises an alien, I'm leaving the universe
Philip Peak I would lose all hope in humanity😂
😁😁😂😂😂
@@dannyvangiersbergen1997 I would lose all hope in aliens.
WE ARE THE ALIENS MY FRIEND!!!!
@@dannyvangiersbergen1997 why, that would be badass
"Aztecs ceased to exist". Considering they were a warrior society surviving on the slavery and subjugation of other peoples, and even practicing horrendous human sacrifices, maybe their demise was a good thing.
Why do scientists not clarify what they mean by "earth like."
Why be either? There is no need to be a colonizer, or be obliterated.
@bangmeister2012 they alien remember
Steve Pointing Don't forget that most people in Pakistan and The Gulf have never even heard of Darwin, as evolution is banned from the curriculum there/as well as the fact that many people don't have access to education.
macsporan Irony!
VENUS. IS CLOSER THAN MARS PAL
I've Seen One Before, But I won't tell Anyone
Doesn't matter if a planet moon comet or astroid if it has a Atmosphere you will find life
Looking for life on mars is a waste of money.
How so?
So, the extremophiles discovered on earth were using photosynthesis to create their food, but, did they need water, and, co2, to produce their food, and, waste oxygen?! I understand that around undersea volcanic vents, there's a food chain, starting with the chemicals expelled from the vents, and, the superheated waters, creating a chemosynthesis, at the base of THIS food Chain! Do the heated chemicals provide the energy AND food required to start THESE chains?!
Karma says humans will be used as a source of energy/nutrients.
Now we know we're the phrase Dog Eat Dog world came from.
Aliens mets humans.
What humans we were so smart we wanted to forget our knowledge bc we was scared of what we would become
He's wrong. Alien probes are here now
Call me crazy weird or creepy I saw this at 2:33am
Religion is what kept us humans from really evolving.
I already know what humanity would be like after alien contact. Just look around.
The impact of the discovery of alien extraterrestrial life is easily measured. It's impact is enormous! There are billions of professed Christians on this planet. This would not have happened without the alien extraterrestrial encounter which occurred almost 2000 years ago!
.
John 8:23
So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world.
.
.
If you carefully examine the events of this well documented extraterrestrial encounter you should realize that their technology far exceeds anything we could possibly imagine!
.
Why would anyone think that alien contact might disturb someones faith?
.
.
You have no evidence Jesus even existed, let alone that he was an alien.
People are still fast asleep, people need to take the red pill and be awoken.
@@roy9161 im saying... This psyop is losing all momentum. You think they will hurt innocents though?
We have already made contact, look up unacknowledged, and look in to ce5. Physical contact from meditation where fully materialised craft will appear. They are waiting for the masses to become consiouss enough that when there is mass contact they don't end up being shot at we already do this with elecromagnetic weapons. We need to stop being steeple! Love to all namaste
To bad he had to go into religion for a bit. People and their gods and religions. No matter how smart a person is, I always find it difficult to take someone serious after knowing they believe in deities and take part in cult like behaviors.
And off course we are going to be the colonists. We are the survivors of our brutal ancestors... It is what we do.
We are not here to take part, we are here to take over :p
*Tips fedora *
that ending was bad.
Naa..not really..😱👽😱arghhhh my ballss😅😅😅👽👽🗿drink my sons drink mexican beer corona extra..🍺 🍺
We would be the aztecs because if aliens have a ship on our planet that right there proves they are more advanced
There already here the y contacted me via pineal gland
We are going to be the Aztecs
Anything sounds better when you were told until 13 babies were dropped off by a large bird carrying a baby in a disper by his beak. Funny but true. She would have continued then my sister came along. Not via bird!
they got 4 more years to prove
The bullies are nowhere now.
See what happened to society when it found America. We can't even get along with ourselves, nevermind the species out there in the stars.
No no no no no.
The real question is: Are we going to be forced to breed with aliens? I mean, I wouldn't say no offhand.
If you wouldn't say no, how would it be forced?
You can have that now, given the insane views of the rainbow crowd. A big guy named derek wearing a dress who believes he is a alien, you have happy times with him
That's great how about the truth now. I personally encountered extra terrestrials and they were not microbes.
3:38. Please stop calling them "little green" men. We all know they're grey. Geez.
If they happen to be xenomorphs we all are fcuked
The Colonist's or the Aztecs ? Neither !
wow. sloppy language. he's hyping waaaay too much
In my opinion, it's dead incorrect about different times in history when religion and faith were shaken or worse replaced by discoveries in science many people have changed their minds and viewpoints over the years, In the future when extrasolar life is a reality religion and faith will be even more shaken if not start major downfall.
That was so positive, 😕 not.
exterminatus of any alien life form, or ells we end up like native Americans after meeting Europeans.... Emperor Protects, it is his will...
What happened to native Americans?
Yea, actually according to the bible, the aliens are the angels, from the bible. Ezekiel describes a round craft that flew back and forth like lightning.
Not like a bat or a bird.
The round craft is described as a wheel with wheels and a crystal dome over the top.
And the living God, and the angels are Spirit beings as well as physical. It is written we are created in God's image. That means that they are physical beings. And they were able to create Adam and Eve, nearly
10, 000 years ago.
A very nice story - for little children .
anyone else here from school
Life is so rare given the millions of accidental things that must randomly occur before it happens that any other minimally intelligent beings that might possibly exist would be so rare in the universe they are probably millions of light years away and would go extinct before ever leaving their own solar systems little own visit ours.
See 'Richard Dolan-best speech ever' then you will be able to get the proper perspective on this whole subject. You stick to your green algae Steve, I know who my money is on.
Isn't God an extraterrestrial ?
No, your so called 'God' is an imaginary puppet master that lives in the sky !
Keplar has already discovered thousands of "earth-like" planets? You sure about that? LMFAO.
