3:25 Probably one of my hardest fights ever against my sparring partner
After the first 2 Exchanges it counted 6:0 for him since he scored 2 head hits
Still managed to get a comeback into 7:6 and 3 unharmed bouts
Especially the exchange at 4:05... we know each others actions so well... and he normally expected a feint which I didn't do and with 100% intention and risk when directly for the head strike after raising my hands....
The tension and focus of us both was beyond extreme sadly the fight didn't go any longer since the tournament rules had a short set of exchanges determined.

As a grappler I think grappling is one of the worst looking things we do in a fencing match tbh, especially when it has to stop because bits of gear are flying off 😂

yeah In my opinion ringen only works if both are trying to apply it in the same moment.. if the skill level is high enough I think the fencer who doesn't want to engage in ringen can most of the times always get a zwerch/umschlagen across... really hard to force a ringen exchange upon someone imo
