This is my dream job, now that I'm retired. I worked for > 28 years as an RN. I worked in the ER / House Nursing Supervisor / Recovery Room. Also I have 20+ years as an EMT.
Thanks for your insights as a nurse of 12 years, I have always experienced that the best doctors are the ones who trust and listen to the team they have around them 😊 Happy staff = happier patients.
It depends on the size of the ship, and the itinerary. It can vary from 2 nurses - 1 doctor, to 7 nurses - 3 doctors. Oil & Gas offshore nurses are some of the highest paid nurses in the world.
omg that's my dream job, as soon as my kids grow up I will be applying, is there any age limit? how does working on ship really works how many weeks/months you spend on ship/sea and how many back home with familly? How many hours per day is it same as in hospital (38h per week, 12.5h per day/night)?
Is there any chance, since I am finishing my healthcare studies, to find a job on a cruise ship directly after studies? (Without experience besides the internships) I'm thinking in terms of finishing an additional course or taking lessons etc. And am thinking in terms of 3-4 months right after studies 😁
Great content sir. Are nurse assistant or LPN's working in the medical department on the cruise ship also regarded as officers and also have single cabin.

Yes, you will be an officer on some cruise lines, if the medical department is under Deck. Not sure what happens when the medical department is under Hotel in other cruise lines.

You need at least 3 years of experience as an ER or ICU nurse - for your own sake as well.
Where does one start the process of working in a cruise ship as a nurse or midwife?
Google is a great start...
Great content sir. Are nurse assistant or LPN's working in the medical department on the cruise ship also regarded as officers and also have single cabin.
You have to be a board certified RN with solid ER or ICU experience to work on a cruise ship as a nurse.
How many nurses are there on a cruise? If it is not for me, can I just quit?
yes

Depends on the cruise line...it is best to ask your cruise line directly, if it is a deal breaker for you.
