Marv Albert and Paul McGuire and O.J Simpson calling this game on NBC at 1pm in 1993. Vinny Testaverde 1st year on the Browns and Eric Metcalf was dangerous on punt and kick returns.....wooooo .Two 3-1 Teams clash in Cleveland. Classic football.
If Marino don’t get hurt we go to the superbowl remember they was 9-2 with Scott Mitchell and Steve deberg plus we beat the afc champs and nfc champs that year cleary the best team Peter king said it too
Man, I miss the atmosphere of the old stadium. It’s just never been the same with the Browns. I was at this game with my Dad, I remember this game being when it finally started to seem like the Browns were turning it around after the previous three disastrous seasons…. Then Bill cut Bernie…
Fins were rolling that year. Even with the Marino injury the team kept going with Mitchell at the helm. Injuries finally took the team down. Had Mitchell stayed healthy all year the Fins make the playoffs
@Reality2016 Miami also beat the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving day. I don't think the Dolphins would have beaten the 'Boys a second time in SB 28.
The 'Phins had a really good team in '93, this was probably the best chance to get back to the Super Bowl. It would have been tough to beat Dallas but they were starting to roll until Dan got injured.
4:00 accurate comparison. Bryan Cox was the biggest reason not only why the Dolphins' defense got better after the doldrums of the late 1980s but more importantly why the Dolphins as a team got back into contention.
@@joshuaecht I'd definitely add '94 to his heyday. He was as good as ever I'd seen him that year and the team was one bad 2nd half away from another AFC Championship birth.
@@BenniatorYeah, they definitely should have beaten the Chargers in the Divisional round. Had they done so, I think Miami would have gone on the road and beaten Pittsburgh in the AFCCG. Just imagine, Marino could have played in SB 29 at home. I don't think Miami would have beaten the 49ers, though. Steve Young was unstoppable that season.
What's weird is the Browns would lose to the Fins from '87 to '04. They never won until Crennel's first year against them. It's like the Broncos. We went 28 years between beating them ('90 MNF at Mile High to '18 Peppers sack game).
1:00:56. I think Jones knew that was an ACL tear so he was respectful and just bumped him. Today's players would have destroyed Marino after the twist.
ABASPORT13 my fave Cleveland Browns team. I blame Derrick Alexander for dropping those two balls in the playoffs against Pitt for them not getting to the SB
@@MrJsfingers Alexander did not help at the start but the Steelers offense found a way to stretch the Browns defense with those running sweeps to carry them to that victory. Michael Dean Perry said that after the game.
Belichick’s playcalling in this game = horrible. NE fans getting a taste of this in 2020. Kosar hated it...look at how well he plays that Dolphin D early on...but Bill couldn’t let Bernie run the offense...ego and arrogance. Plus it was evident at this point that Belichick wanted Testaverde at QB...you almost get the sense he was looking for an excuse to bench Kosar. Bill has a dark side...the brilliance of Brady shielded that from the world. Bill is a genius, make no mistake - , and he was definitely that in Cleveland, building a monster D and brilliant special teams - but always a flawed genius.
Tears his Achilles, still completes the pass. Dan the Man. Legend.
I was at this game thanks for uploading this. Hated to see Marino get hurt, glad the Dolphins still got the W

I was at this game. Najee Mustaffa grabbed that pick in what seemed like right in front of me.
Sweet I was there to senior year in high school with my best friend at the time
I remember watching this game when i was 15
OJ really killed that interview.
Yeah, he was sharp that day.
He cut through the defense with such accuracy
Speed kills

Wow……Peter King…..if Marino doesn’t get hurt they’re still Buffalo’s bridesmaids. Also your grammar is first grade level at best.

all you need to know off the bat bryan cox is like fuck as they're checking him out on the field

it was the defense injuries that ended up being more of a problem, the offense continued to mostly do fine with Mitchell then Deburg at QB
@@knight2000-NC That's a good point.

Marv Albert and OJ Simpson that’s scary
Marv was the GOAT
Paul McGuire is talking about the field conditions, and 2 plays later Marino tears his Achilles
I’m heart came out my ass when Marino got injured
I am going to watch this game even though I know what is going to happen. The game that ended their super bowl chances that year

The Late, Great Don Shula I Garontee!
1:00:07 Dan Marino torn his Achilles tendon
Surprisingly, miami's season didn't end here, at least not yet
Where Marino got hurt was where they replaced the baseball dirt, that was the part of the field that was slippery.
Tommy "No Touchdown" Vardell
The end of a likely Super Bowl team.
Yep, '84 to '93 were the heyday of the Marino era. Like the '89 Browns were the end of the Kosar era. Good comment!

The fans cheering as he is hurt? Stay classy Cleveland
As a Browns fan I felt so sick for Marino watching that game. Anyone that would cheer for that would have to be mentally ill.
Christian Boddie they weren’t cheering clown
Aaron Braucher Yeah my ears are deceiving me, clown.
Oj before the murders.
Bill Belichick vs. Don Shula. The NFL's two winningest coaches of all-time.

As a Broncos fan that's why we had to fire our coach Vance Joseph cuz it's like no we don't lose to Cleveland this isn't acceptable LOL
the game that ruined my year seeing Marinos injury in real time.
OJ drove a Bronco to the game.
Oh….silly you…..how clever is that
14 of 19 for 161 yards and 1 TD…it was his year
You could Hear the Cleveland fans react when Dan Marino went down.
This would have been their year.

Achilles tear
Who the hell was their qb? Vinny?? Good ole Vinny T ... good ole hammer

Any team that starts 9-2 should make the playoffs. But to be fair they did go thru 3 QBs that year.
