Hey all, if you're watching this, thank you! I love visiting a series chronologically, and I know we have to get through some of the earlier Zeldas to get to the real meat of the series, but I really appreciate those of you who want to join me on this journey from the very start! Let's do this!
So happy you decided to do the early games, especially the Oracle ones! Very few people cover em and they are my favorites of the series! P.S. - here's my ranking lol 8. Level 6 7. Level 5 6. Level 3 5. Level 4 4. Level 2 3. Level 1 2. Level 8 1. Level 9
This has to be one of the greatest channels I've come across in a long time. Between SoulsBorne and Zelda being my two favorite franchises, Billy always has topics that always immediately peak my interest
I'm so happy to see your content covering the older Zelda games! This is my favourite series along with Soulsborne, and with how well you consider and share your own thoughts as well as other peoples opinions in your rankings, it makes me really excited to see your thoughts on these games!
I practically grew up on content of the previous generation of gamers talking about these older series like Zelda, so I'm just excited to be able to join and keep that conversation going for people. Plus, they're all just solid games ^^
Billy you’re by FAR my favourite UA-camr I’ve discovered recently, it’s like you’re reading my mind and making the exact videos I want to see, all while coming across as such a lovely fellow:) Zelda will forever be my favourite game series. I may have other games that are my absolute favourites (Hollow Knight, Persona 5, Skyrim) but Zelda holds such large real estate in my heart I don’t think anything will top it. Even the music by itself…flawless. Very excited for the rest of this series…
I don't have many opinions on The Legend of Zelda because I've only ever played it without beating it, but I do really like how the overworld map for this was used for the first Adventure Mode map in Hyrule Warriors/Definitive Edition, with a bunch of the important landmarks corresponding to important squares in Warriors.
i like level 9 from the second quest more. while it has fewer rooms, it is a lot more puzzling. there was a nice sense of satisfaction when figuring out where the silver arrows were and you were given a clue as to find them. it does have some of the limitations such as an unreachable spawnable stairwell which makes a room a one way path and you can still get stuck, but for a final dungeon it still delivers. i also really like level 8 second quest as well. it is like a puzzle and the enemies are not very strong but there are a lot of dodongos and red bubbles do fill the dungeon.
'It's also fairly simple to find' - Billy referring to Level 2 Meanwhile, me running all over Zelda 1 Hyrule: 'Where the heck is Blue Dodongo Land?!' Can you believe I actually consulted the Adventure Mode map on my copy of Hyrule Warriors one time to find Level 2?
Why the heck do I remember Aquamentus from Level 7 having more health and a second phase where it literally turns red? Did my mind conjure images of something I wish Nintendo did by combining smatterings of old memories of fighting Aquamentus and Gleeok (the red color I ralsely remember Aquamentus turning in Level 7 is about the same shade of red as Gleeok's detached heads)?
I mentioned very early in the video that I'd be focusing exclusively on the 1st quest. It's what everybody knows, and I'm not very confident in my skills to complete the 2nd quest at this time.
Honestly I think its absurdly hard to rank dungeons for this game and links adventure my favorite personally is the first one despite not being around for the og zeldas and starting with botw if i still find something iconic than its great
The dungeons don't have a lot to differentiate themselves in the same way as the SNES and onwards Zeldas, but I think that's what makes ranking them fun. It's more difficult for me and I like that.
I hate darknuts so much. I wish the book of magic upgraded the wand to do damage against heavily armored foes like them even from the front. Instead the book of magic DOWNGRADES its damage!
It downgrades it's damage? I feel like the Wand had so much potential for being a powerful ranged utility, but they just didn't know what to do with it.

The perks of growing up as a playstation console kid & also a Nintendo kid, I bridge the worlds ;D
Hell yeah Billy this will be a great series. Lvl 9 is such a gauntlet of a dungeon that without a guide you’ll be lost in there for years
We can all agree that level 6 can die a thousand deaths

*Looks at Hollow Knight*
:)

You're a gifted writer and orator. Great editorial journalism. Cheers mate.
For dungeon 6- there are also keys for purchase in some shops. Expensive but maybe easier than finding another unused key for beginning players.

Hell yes... I see Zelda content coming over the event horizon.
And so it begins!
I've never played this game, nor do I plan to - it's just great, easy-listening content 👌🏻
New cid just dropped from Billy! W day now

Fun series idea. Cant wait until you get to the early 3D and GBA titles.
Definitely looking forward to some Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess when I get there.

Good ranking video man. But you know there's a 2nd quest in the OG Legend of Zelda with 9 more dungeons, right?

Next series elders 5 Skyrim boss ranking
I think I'll pass. I like Skyrim, but not THAT much lol
Are you going to do rankings for the multiplayer games and Hyrule warriors?
Hyrule Warriors, sure. Cadence of Hyrule too. The multiplayer games, sadly no. No way of playing them.
@@BillySYT Technically, Tri-force heroes could be played in single player …if you hate yourself.
Omg Level 3 is literally shaped like a swastika. Why the fuck did they think that was ok
Use sound to beat him soundly. 🤣🤣
I'm truly a poet with my scripting.

The fire caused by the "upgraded" wand does less damage than the default wand beam. @@BillySYT
