“We’re so okay with wearing bikinis but you’d be so uncomfortable if someone saw you in your underwear. Why?!” …. Morgan that’s called consent. When I’m wearing a bikini at the beach, I’m giving consent and am obviously okay with everyone seeing me like that. If I’m changing in my room alone and someone walks in and sees me, yeah that would be uncomfortable because I didn’t consent/wasn’t prepared for them to see me exposed/almost naked. That’s the difference.

    • @norlingaming4405
      @norlingaming4405 2 роки тому +8

Yes! The difference is consent and the fact that they cannot see that, even though they RAN into the point a few times, is really sad and almost cruel that they do not have a sense of bodily autonomy and that is the basis of so many other civil rights issues.

I know this comment is old, but yes!! I was arguing with Morgan in my head, but couldn't find the words lol. This is perfect and makes so much sense. Also, I would say its about whats appropriate for diff areas. At the beach/pool we know there will be people in bathing suits.....at an office we know thats a professional environment and stuff like that matters as we live in a society with certain etiquette and rules. So I would say its a mix, consent and what you expect to see depending on the activity/environment. Also, I always wonder how they justify that their God brought us into this world naked. If we were meant to be ashamed of that then why weren't we born with clothes or fur? Don't they believe in Adam and Eve? Arent Adam and Eve always depicted naked? My biggest issue with organized religions are the religious texts.
The bible for instance is a book that was written thousands of years ago when society was very diff and by a bunch of dudes on opium (look up what Historians say about it).....so following a random book that literally advocates war, m*rder, and r*pe has always baffled me. What God would want that? Thats why even the Christians that are more moderate like, B, I just have to look at them with a bit of a side eye because they tend to pick and choose when to show common sense. At least the fundamentalists live closer to what this strict book says so I almost respect that more honestly (I think all religious texts are bull by the way because they depict a God who is not good and vengeful and I refuse to believe a God would be ok with the things I mentioned above and advocate for them).....sometimes I wonder if these people have actually read the whole Bible from beginning to end......there are literally tons of areas in the bible that literally encourage and endorse rape....this is God endorsing these things...I also always look at people who follow a book written thousands of years ago by men when the world was very diff as just being strange, but as long as no one is hurting anyone (thats the problem though is a lot of these people are hurting society) then I think adults can believe what they want.

I had something like this happen to me in regards to a swimsuit! It was about eight months post partum. I was self conscious with my body so when swimsuit season came, I picked the first thing I felt comfortable in ( a more modest bikini). I went on a church retreat and was asked to cover up because a group of like young men were about to go swimming and I was encouraged to hurry because they would be here any moment. That ruined the trip for me. After that, I couldn't even look at the photo of me (in my swimsuit) with my daughter because of that. I know everyone has diffent opinions and feelings about it. Now, I just dont like showing off my body so I wear other non bikini options. Good video B!

Morgan is so different when she isn’t with Paul. In this video I feel like she’s so much more calm, coherent, and genuine versus the fake, whiny, loud act she puts on with Paul. I don’t know, I just seem to like her more (or at least tolerate her better) when she is by herself, and able to speak without constantly being interrupted. While I disagree with her on basically everything, she is a much better speaker when alone. I feel like if she had never met Paul, she would have been such a strong independent person. And you usually sum up my feelings about it very nicely!
As for this video: I found it rather telling that the question Morgan got was about "your partner" not contributing enough to the relationship, but she immediately responded with talking about "your boyfriend/husband." @@evelynmatt2000 I used to watch their stuff out of curiosity a long time ago, and their dynamic has been interesting to say the least. Also, Paul does the editing, so thats always in the back of my mind.
When Paul takes the lead he acts different. I can't remember which video it was offhand, but it started with the tail end of an argument and Morgan saying something to the effect of, "it's fine, whatever, let's just just move on." It's also hard to watch, but why leave this type of thing making Morgan look bad in? It felt one sided like he's trying to make himself look more rational?
In this one when she takes the lead, it almost feels like he's hurt he isn't at the forefront. About a year ago I commented on a video that "huh, Paul interrupts Morgan every time she talks." I had actually counted and there was two times he didn't interrupt. My comment was deleted and I think I'm blocked now.
This is purely speculation; but I wonder if she doesn't feel heard and this is how she tries to push back on that by kind of doing this video where she leads? It just looks like there are communication issues overall and usually if only one of them was in the video it was Paul. This is one of the few I've seen where it's mostly Morgan.
That was probably way too much info, but it lives in my head rent free

I have been "catcalled" a ton... Most recently I have been getting it a lot on my Facebook page from men I've never met, even when the only thing publicly visible is a photo of me that is a headshot where I'm wearing a regular t-shirt up to my neck. They sexualize my smile, for God's sake. It's not my fault. And it's not okay to imply that it is. I did an experiment where I used a photo editing app to make my face into a man's face and made that my profile photo for a while. I didn't get a single inappropriate comment during that time. Not one. We have to stop saying it's a woman's responsibility to keep men from being perverts.

Not "you need to put more effort in" but "I don't feel I'm getting everything I need from our relationship right now." And make sure you've framed it not as your SO failing to meet your needs, but a mutual failure by both of you to make sure you were communicating about needs, including opening up a chance for your SO to air any of their needs that aren't being met.

Usually if a reaction video is made that person gets more views and then more followers. Maybe it's best her reach stays where it is and hope she fades away. Maybe wishful thinking but don't want someone blowing up on youtube because they got clicks from a reaction video. Just saying.

I think in part how strong your immune system is affects how strong your reaction to the vaccine is, at least in part. I got my first vaccine at 37 weeks pregnant and was fine. I normally never get sick but my immune system was compromised when I had to have an unplanned c-section. A week after getting home from the hospital I ended up developing postpartum shingles. So when I got my second vaccine two days after developing the shingles rash, my sides effects were minimal. My husband who also never gets sick, had side effects that were very similar to the flu. But I’m glad we got it as we are protected and our 6 week old daughter is somewhat protected as well.

It is common to get some milder side effects like a slight headache, fever and tiredness. That's normal and it's just the natural immune response. Some people get no symptoms and some people get more severe ones. But it doesn't mean that there's a problem with the vaccine.

How can they legitimately claim to be Christians, who are called to go and make disciples, while profiting from the outrageous and alienating statements they make? The thing you said at 6:38 which was that, "you can't just use Satan as the fall guy for any negative perception of organized religion," is something that I think Christians, specifically American Christians, need to really spend some time thinking about.
Christians often get so caught up in the idea of "us vs them" (believers and non-believers as our enemies 🤦) and they want to think it's the same with God too, that Satan is his equally powerful nemesis and they're both giving it their all to battle it out, good against evil. The Bible says that God has a plan for Satan, that is already worked out... He doesn't need out help with that.
And on that same note, the idea of "spiritual warfare" in our day to day lives would probably be better thought of as a battle against sin vs a battle against the devil and demons. Lastly, the idea that Satan is why people don't like Christians or why even other believers have fucked up views about Christianity is pretty laughable when Christians themselves do everything they can to make the religion as hateful and hurtful and drain-the-life-out-of-you terrible as it could possibly be, which goes against everything Jesus said and stood for.
It is very sad how what seems to be the pillars of Christianity, specifically evangelical Christianity in the US, are hate and rules. When truthfully, according to Jesus's own words, it's supposed to be about love and freedom. It's all very sad and just the way Christians are and have been for so long in and of itself shows why even believers have a hard time with it and everyone else sees it as harmful.

Jesus says if your eye causes you to sin, cut it out. I always interpreted modesty in dress as more of humility. Paul talks about wearing things to grab attention. Most people when they wear a swimsuit, it's more about wearing what THEY like, not what will attract a man. Most people at the beach, men and women alike, are just there to enjoy the beach and commune with nature. I don't personally like bikinis for myself. I don't like showing that much skin and wear more upf skin protecting because I have had to have a pre-cancerous place removed from my back. However, that is MY personal decision, and I would never tell someone else not to.

Their ultimate enemy is the devil, and I think they attribute all evil in the world to the devil's influence. These communities will also often reference "being of the world" or "worldly" so they kind of set up the rest of humanity as the enemy as well, because of their potential influence. Essentially, anyone who doesn't believe what they believe must be influenced by the devil and should be avoided, which is an obvious attempt at preventing the listener from hearing opposing beliefs. I say this having gone through it, it is intentionally vague. They have to keep you from listening to anyone outside the echo chamber. It's insidious, but effective.

I think Paul was extremely irritated when she commented on his eyebrows, particularly because that isn’t very noticeable on camera, and when he said “I’m about to trim them up” she just said “sure” which came across as very dismissive and he immediately tensed up and turned away from her. Then she moved onto the question but he was still irritated so he looked away. Body language seemed very irritated and I wonder how often they have these moments. They’re very image focused and as much as Paul seems to be controlling about their shared convictions (modesty, fitness, etc), I have no doubt that she’s giving her share of image-focused criticism. He cares if she’s skinny, she cares if he’s impeccably groomed.

God created us to be completely naked with NO SHAME and it was only when we started playing our own game that we started viewing our bodies as disgraceful. 99% of clothing has nothing to do with trying to be provocative, it's just the individual wearing what makes them comfortable. Clothing does not influence bad actions, bad character does.*

That's not fully correct. I understand your perspective, but in the garden when Eve ate from the forbidden fruit she became mindful about her body, she discovered she was naken. And God asked: "Who's told you that you are naken?". Following Genesis 3:6-7: "Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths". Why do you think they covered themselves?
Also, in 1 Timothy 2:9-10 it says: "Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness-with good works".
