    I’d really like to ask one of teals inner circle members, “so what knowledge or wisdom have you garnered through devoting your life to her? Was it worth the exchange of your own personal life?”

      Right. That proves things. None of us would feel defensive or angry after a documentary about us being edited so manipulatively as this video shows it was. I feel so relieved that I don't have to use my brain anymore, I just have to point a tone of voice or facial expression to see all my biases confirmed.

      After seeing how they edited things, it's clear that the makers of the documentary are maliciously manipulative, yet nobody calls them out for it. I think that maybe Teal has never been fully right in the head and the type of work she did with those groups is the typical unhealthy New Age dive into fantasy, and opening up to strangers and 'spiritual therapists' too much. But the sociopath image that the documentary builds on her becomes extremely uncertain after seeing how they edited things. The documentary just can't be trusted after seeing the unedited stuff.

    • @Montanero
      @Montanero 6 місяців тому

      Exactly, they mixed truth with falsehood making the nuance more challenging to dissect, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t some truth to what they presented in the documentary. Teal provides some self-help material but clearly displays holding some childhood trauma that is projected as self-centeredness and the form of aversion to close parental relationships. This could have serious repercussions for those who are infatuated with Teal’s persona and follow her devoutly.

    I agree it’s unethical for the crew to likely suck up to her in order to get the footage they need, but at the same time, her inner circle is a cult. Teal has caused some major harm, so I can overlook the ethics issue to help get the word out about real.

      It goes beyond just her inner circle. Her casual fans who just watch some of her videos, no. But people who become avid fans, yes. I used to be a part of it so I know from experience. “Teal tribe” as we were called, many people burned a lot of people, I saw it first hand. I wasn’t one of them but I got away from it in my own. Do some research on it. There a number of people who have touched upon it on UA-cam alone.

    Interesting. It doesn’t change my mind as far as how manipulative Teal is, I think she’s just frustrated that she’s been “bested” by a crew she thought would put her in the best light possible, but showed more of her true side than she ever wanted a spotlight on.

    maybe it's because i went to film school, but what the filmmakers did isn't much different to how documentaries are made. they edit things in a "creative" ways, that's wht you have to Always do your own research. i think she's upset because she expected to be shown in a good light. her reputation took a hit, i mean she could as well sue for slander if she has proof 🤔

    • @BHaney
      @BHaney  Рік тому +13

      @@BHaney 100% agree, maybe she expected an ad, not a critique. she's living in a bubble, i guess for example the crew contacting people who left her little group hit her where it hurts since it's hard to prove they are lying. she's pushing the malicious editing angle bc she knows the crew probably won't publish unreleased image (possibly due to licensing issues) so it's easy for her to hang on to that and use the couple recordings she has

  • @sourgreendolly7685
    @sourgreendolly7685 Рік тому +15

    For the one scene where there is proof that the real conversation is entirely different, I think differently of the filmmakers and I wish they hadn't gone that far. Filming for 3 years, they should not have needed to do that and doing so only makes the rest look suspicious to those who aren't already aware of Teal.
    That said, there is no proof that could change my mind about Teal as it was made up years ago when I nearly got sucked into her shtick. The one good thing I could say about her is that she doesn't hide what most consider red flags. Once I started seeing her talk about how you can't just take what works from and leave the rest, I knew I was in the danger zone.
    Her views around suicide I can personally understand but are never something I see as something to suggest. It's a dangerous standpoint for a lot of people, I think people that find comfort in it like we do are less common and people need to come to their own understandings regardless.
    To be clear- this was all on UA-cam in about 6 months time. I never met Teal or joined any groups. This is just what seems very obvious from that experience. She made is very clear that she believes she has THE solution or solutions in life and that will never be a safe thing in my eyes. Honestly makes me more angry that they edited things so clearly to be something else in the docuseries because I know every experience looks less credible to the general public now.

    Regarding the water breath perspective ~ The filmmaker was showing the experience from the perspective of the person experiencing it. That is going to be exponentially more chaotic and negative than someone who is on the outside and not empathizing with the person.
    Teal sees it as calm because she isn’t empathizing and isn’t experiencing it.

    Curious, that Sabrina is hurting and saying she wants to kill herself. Yet TS is concerned with how Sabrina's suicide would reflect on her, if Sabrina did go through with it back home. I find that very telling about TS's ego. Also in one of the clips TS shared, with the woman married to a man twice her age, the woman is afraid of what family will tell her when her husband dies. And TS and the audience all say to her, don't be around her family. Not giving ways to reconcile the situation, they all just went straight to, stay away from your family. Hell of a thing for when she's a widow.

    I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, she is a dark shaman that has not done her own work and therefore is a danger to others. She is messing around in the shamanic realm without having healed her own shattered self. To me, it was very telling in a previous episode when the guy (Simon) asked her who HER teacher/healer is. Her response was perfect narcissistic projection/deflection. Very sad because it is true that a lot of her insights and teachings are extremely valuable and have the ability to help those in tremendous pain. It’s because of her own unhealed parts that she has the ability to inflict SERIOUS damage on the vulnerable who do not have the ego strength or boundaries to be able to stand up to her viciousness when she perceives one of her own weaknesses in them. She simply has to tear that person down for her own “comfort”.

    I would like the perspective of the film makers. They spent 2 years filming her. I mean everyone assumes they went in with bad intentions. No one has seemed to consider maybe they started of neutral and did not like what they witnessed which then resulted in such editing. So would be nice to know why they edited it this way. Also TS's best friend from childhood said TS liked to shock people and be the victim for sympathy. I find it curious that this docu that she allowed, has given her victim status.

    Teal saying that she basically resents being told that she can't help suicidal people, and that she demands to have a way made for her to do so, is so incredibly entitled and self aggrandizing. She has NO SKILLS to work with people like that, period. Her suggestion to Sabrina that she may need some of her stepmother's traits to succeed in life is a very poor call, clinically speaking. Sabrina cannot differentiate between her stepmother's hurtful traits and her more positive ones, she appears to see her as a source of harm and a threat, and is incredibly defended against her. To do what Teal did is so incredibly mis-attuned and plain stupid, she is completely ignoring the reality of Sabrina's emotional state. No wonder she couldn't help her. She has no skills to do so, and instead is blindly stumbling around hoping for the best. This is not something you do with people in severe psychological and emotional distress, especially those with suicidal ideation.

    Objectively speaking the documentary mixed truth with falsehood, which made it more nuanced and challenging to extract the truth about teal’s organization. Just because there was falsehood in the documentary still doesn’t mean there isn’t some truth to what the deep end presented. For anyone who follows teal and her message, it’s clearly self-help, but it’s also apparent that teal, as though she helps people and seems to somehow care, also has the vice of centering the whole organization and movement around her, sort of making herself the kingpin of everything, which somehow may translate to even her subjective preference during a given situation to which her inner circle have to abide by. The self-centeredness is clearly demonstrated.
    This was further aggravated by how she disrespected and insulted Blake at the very end (calling him weak, dishonorable…). One could argue that it’s also Blake’s fault for not drawing clear boundaries and not having a backbone in such situations, but still Teal shockingly surprised me since this juxtaposed with her image of being a healed healer and somehow a spiritual teacher. She also displayed strong opposition to those who had questions on authority that may relate to her even mildly, which showed some insecurity (ie being offended if asked on how she claims she doesn’t look up to anyone).
    To me it appears that she does indeed provide some valuable help to her followers but she’s not that infallible almost revered figure that some may perceive her as such. She shows that she still holds trauma from her past, and projects that trauma in the form of self-centeredness and aversion to parental family relationships with regards to her clients/followers. The latter part can have serious implications for her followers who chose to severe ties with parents that are misrepresented based on Teal’s advice and eventually causing more chaos and pain to the follower at hand.

    Teal should have known they were disingenuous but maybe most weren't cause, think about it, most of the crew does not produce or edit footage. The editor, producer, and director may have not decided on the full scope of the project before filming and Teal did let a PI go through her life...from her family, ex-inner circle, past participants, and childhood friends, she may not want that all known to the collective. I think her forthright opinion, bluntness, and back story may have 'bit her in the butt'...Does that make her a monsterous guru...No, just a very human condition...loss of superpowers. I can see her dismay, anger, and sadness but it truly is her fault, she let them in and was herself. YOU; You are wonderfully fair, sympathetic, and have common sense...love the channel.

    It's just weird how Teal defends herself. It's like she's defending things we did not even think? Like emphasizing it was Blake's fault the fish died, like we thought it was hers. And claiming they made it look like she was running from her emotions on that run when it didn't, and saying that they made it look like she is such a lonely, miserable person that she gets her closeness through people being in pain. Who even thought that? So is this Teal telling how she really is like, and what she really does? Because I can't remember thinking any of this when I watched the docu. It's interesting to consider it now though.
