You’re awesome. Now if we could only have him stay on sensor mode as soon as power is applied that would be sweet too. I saw a mod of someone using a wide area motion sensor wireless one that ties into that try me mono plug you’re talking about. I feel that would complete the whole thing. Wouldn’t need to go into any other mode because off is the try me mode which triggers movement. The sensor is from Harbor Freight. I’m going to probably go buy one tomorrow to try it. I have a few mono plugs I can splice and see how that works. Your eye mod is spot on. Thanks for sharing.
Can anyone send me a link on what wires to buy that would work best for this project? I’m new to soldering so I just want to make sure I’m. Using something sufficient. I’m not sure what gauge wires to buy.
My task for today. I'm going to see if I can use flat tab connectors on the circuit board and tie into the wires within the Dupont connector so as to not have to solder anything. I'll let you know how it goes.
So I ended up soldering the wires to the circuit board posts as you did, but I removed the female pins for the red and black wires from the connector spliced them in with their corresponding wires and reinserted the pins back into the connector. It Works GREAT!!! I Cannot Wait To See It Tonight!!! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!
You the man! Is it still working as expected since the mod? Also did you ever find out which ones controlled the mouth LEDs? I'D like to hook those up as well and just leave the sound and movement to be activated by the sensor.
Yes, it still works as expected. I have not had a chance yet to go back to look at the LEDs unfortunately, but think I probably misspoke in the video about just hooking the led directly to the 6V. I think if you're going to do that, you would probably need to add a series resistor to limit the current through the led or risk the possibility of burning it up. I'm getting some parts delivered today to hopefully build a better sensor that will work in the Try Me port.
Hello, ours works but when he howls the head doesn’t move back and forth. Is there something I need to do? I’ve watched so many videos. Can’t find anything.
Do you know what cable controls the eyes I just bought mine today and put it together everything is working except the eyes and not coming on at all. I checked the cables look good I do notice on the black one the prongs are alittle bent
I don't remember exactly now - it seems like one of the cables had the red/black power wires to the eyes along with wires to one of the motors. You could backtrace the cable from the red and black wires where they directly attach to the eyes up in the head (looking from the back of the werewolf's head at the back of the eyes). Hopefully that makes sense.
Another idea. What about using the stock sensor and tie that directly into the try me plug somehow? I’m going to look and see if the circuit is easily viewable or the sensor itself to see what power it uses? Let me know if you can figure that out too.
That's a great idea, the more I think about it, the more I actually like the idea of him coming up into try me mode because then we can add our own trigger, like a proximity, or wide angle sensor instead of the little built-in sensor he comes with. We could also have it on some kind of timer or other control.
@@headsdownharry Sure, I tore into her control box a little last night and started to have a look at the electronics. She's a little more complex with the purple and green LEDs but has an easy way to keep the eyes on if that's all you need. I'll post something soon.
Would you be able to show how you did it with a diagram or something? Just purchased this and would love to do this but I’m not very electronics savy. Thank you!
I'm getting ready to attempt this myself today. He shows us a still picture of the soldered board, if you zoom in you can get a pretty good look at what he did.
@@DMH57IND I just used what I had lying around and don't remember for sure. it was probably a little thin, but I wanted to make sure I could easily bend and work with it. I'd just use something close to the gauge of the red and black wires that go to her eyes.
You have great taste! My dad bought that baby brand new in 69. It was the family car into the 90s and shows all the signs of shoving 4 kids into it all those years. He’s passed on but my son and I have it running and are slowly trying to restore it.
BLESS YOU, this is incredible. I was so annoyed when I realized both my witch and my wolf had this ridiculous design flaw!
This, and your other video on the sensor harness, are EXACTLY what I've been looking for!!!
You're a lifesaver....thank you so much!
Followed your instructions and his eyes now stay lit and every thing else works as it should. Thank you!
Thanks Bryce! This mod worked perfectly! This is how it should've come from the factory!

My soon to be Mother in law just sent me this... Goona get some brownie points for sure, thanks for the how to!
Guess what, I found this same prop in my old neighborhood called south fork in Las Vegas nevada
Thanks for this! We thought the eyes were broken
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Those wires stink though. So thin and brittle. lol.
"WOLFMAN'S GOT NARDS!"
Anyone had issues with the sound?
Love this! I have been trying to figure out implementing a fog machine to turn on at the start of his howl. Sort of fog on the moors kind of vibe.
Nice! Did you figure it out?

I did this but now for some reason he keeps howling for no reason, no one walking by. Anyway to fix this?
The eyes on my werewolf are not lighting up, what do you think could be the problem?
Mine aren’t working either
You could use a PIR sensor and relay connected to the try me port to get motion activated animation
Yep, that's exactly what I did.

How would you wire these to keep the ENTIRE (lights, sounds and animations) animatronic on all times?

Dude are you able to figure out how to keep the witches LED lights constantly on in sensor mode??? The eye mod you did works fantastic
