Gotta say you're music's actually helped me through a lot this year,it's been hell honestly, but you inspired me to start working on similar songs, vocals ect. I started out with rap,hip-hop, and now I'm singing rnb, country, pop type stuff, metal and rock.but anyways could I send ya some of my music, not wanting to release to UA-cam ECT right yet,I've got close to 300 songs atm and still working on more, need opinions on mastering and different vocal styles I use, maybe some tips ect.
This is a piece of art. I'm blown away by the concept of the video. So here's my take on it: The girl has been shown plucking flowers which symbolizes fragility and selflessness which the artist himself shared, " This piece is an ambiguous example of how fragile we feel in a position of selflessness, yet also how authoritative & powerful we feel when being selfish, even though, in reality, we eventually realise it is always the complete opposite" Then the girl cut the rose and gift him wilted and pale flowers without petals. The painting also started melting, and the black paint smudges all over. The painting wasn't black, the real painted image is shown on 1:00. Then she starts opening it ( She told me shading made everything more beautiful, but I don't see it at all I'm more deranged than before ) and the guy pierced the knife on the canvas which destroys the real image because he want her to forget things and find her true self which the lyrics also states (I don't ever want to be the selfish reason you don't ever find yourself) The white area shown where he sat and stared the painting symbolizes he took all her memories and scars upon himself, he was trapped within a painting (I'll be anything you ever ask, I'll take your memories upon myself) and lastly everything was gone as the girl sniffed the rose. He gifted her his wisdom and thoughts and everything got erased from her mind and she was a completely different person. It's my personal observation. I'd love to hear more explanations from you guys!
I think this is by far the most accurate interpretation i've read since i strted mulling over the symbolism of the song and i totally agree, i have the same opinion, i just hope the msuic industry would incline more into this sophisticated type of productions, it's really one in a million nowadays. Peace.
It is good interpretation! I thought they were self destroying because he was trying to take all shade on himself but at the end she finally saw the true flower , she found herself
Hmm good interpretation. However each song has a message which relates to God and jesus. 'if I make my arms the harm you seek' He is willing to let her hurt him continously to take all her pain. 'may I clean your slate and wipe your consciouance clean' He is taking all her sin so she can be pure hence the flowers are alive. However he can no longer take all her sin and needs to give her it back as she gives him his pure heart back (flowers) and he gives her back her sin (painting) and 'shaming makes everything warp' he has shamed her and her ripping it up is her discarding him and the work he has done. It is sad and he feels if he wipes her consciouance all the time she won't ever find her true self and will keep doing the same thing.
I kind of feel like these are the many steps of growth in difficult relationships. For example, how we become completely enamored by a person in the beginning, seeing past all thier faults because we want so much for things to work. But then, in time, that shine dulls and we can see the situation more clearly, however we still won't remove ourselves because we want to help. We convince ourselves that if we can love this person enough we can heal what's hurting them, thus repairing the relationship and getting to that romanticized movie type relationship we've been trained to believe is possible. But in the end we sacrifice pieces of ourselves to attempt to accomplish this while, sadly, it rarely work out how we imagine it will, because while the selfless person is giving, the selfish person keeps taking - usually with little to no regard for what is being done to sustain this relationship. The taker mostly cares about thier own personal well being and often will blame the giver for giving too much. It becomes an unhealthy balance. But in this video, it looks like the typically selfish character actually loves the giver enough to recognize they're killing themselves to make this work. He realizes the best thing for her is for her to leave, so he takes on the pain of the relationship ending so she can go and grow. These are the relationships everyone needs at least once in thier lives, even though it hurts because pain always teaches so much more than happiness ever will.... But thats just my opinion.
lyric guy : :) I let every thought thread a weft of yarn Weaving through the warps, a tapestry of us If I make my arms, the home you seek If I sway my brush, would I capture thee? If I hang your scars in a gallery As a work of artistry May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience Lay it on another shelf I'll be anything you ever ask I'll take your memories upon myself If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom I will find another shell I don't ever want to be the selfish reason You don't ever find yourself I felt every thought claw the strands apart Weaving into knots, a travesty of us If I stay my arms, and I pull your sleeve If I snap my brush, would you trust in me? If I trace your scars with the broken piece As a work of artistry May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience Lay it on another shelf I'll be anything you ever ask I'll take your memories upon myself If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom I will find another shell I don't ever want to be the selfish reason You don't ever find yourself Watching the needle thread through every pore She told me shading made everything more Beautiful, but I don't see it at all I'm more deranged than before Standing in paints as it pools on the ground Colours of empathy blending with doubt Witnessing everything melting around Until I drowned May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience Lay it on another shelf I'll be anything you ever ask I'll take your memories upon myself If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom I will find another shell I don't ever want to be the selfish reason You don't ever find yourself May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience Lay it on another shelf I'll be anything you ever ask I'll take your memories upon myself If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom I will find another shell I don't ever want to be the selfish reason You don't ever find yourself
My interpretation: They both want to give their precious someone a gift created from what they believe is the most beautiful and valuable thing in their lives. The two care immensely for each other as you can see how much thought and time they put into their gifts. The girl picking and choosing and going back and forth in rearranging. The boy carefully deciding how to make his first stroke on his blank canvas. However, upon exchanging gifts-- we can see that the boy is disappointed. All he saw were dead, dusty, rotten flowers. But when the girl was making it in her hands at the beginning of the video, it was so beautiful through us, the viewer's eyes. How can it be that when the boy held it-- it was so ugly to him? The girl who was already hurt from the boy's sour reaction to her gift went home. When she opened the boy's wrapped up gift, she saw trash being presented to her. She's so mad and disappointed that she destroys the painting. How can the beautiful painting that the boy put so much time into making, which we the viewers witnessed ourselves at the beginning of the video, make her so unhappy? Now here is where we see the two characters diverge: Upon the two realizing they both did not value and approve of each other's gifts, the boy decides to destroy his own paintings. He is destroying that which he believed is the most beautiful and valuable thing in his life. He tried to change himself for their relationship to work. The girl on the other hand reacts very differently. She turns back to making that which she believes is the most beautiful and valuable in her life. At the end, the boy is left empty. He has nothing. No painting. No girl. The girl on the other hand is seen picking up a snipped up rose head that turns green. Green is a positive color often symbolizing youth, fertility, to go forward, etc. The girl has found a new happiness in her life. The boy is last seen in a mess of black ink worn out and crying into his arms. This is essentially my long winded version of: When two people value very different standards of what is considered good and bad, even with the best of intentions, they will inherently hurt each other by simply being themselves. You can gamble like the boy and change yourself to match up with your beloved. But you will hurt yourself and be unhappy. And there is no gurantee the other person will stick with you through all of your sacrifice. Or, you can be like the girl and continue to pursue your values, standards, and passions. You may find yourself never finding a happy conclusion. Or maybe before you know it, you find closure for yourself and move on. Who knows?

I grew up in a ruff childhood alone and now in my adult days I find myself in struggles no one wants to be in. All the memories you wish to forget and yet always wanting to take others pain away from them.... This song is and has become my new favorite. As art and music is what I ALWAYS turn to. I've never known any artist who could tap into my life as you have with out even knowing me. It's speachless in a good way!!

Are you going to make this entire song about God and Jesus? I'm just saying because you made this same reply on another person's interpretation of the song.
Josh234 You’re right. This song is about that... but the Holy Spirit does change and wiped consciences. It’s done if the Holy Spirit acts. Sometimes as Christians we feel like Jacob tells in these lyrics, we get to a point of feeling selfish for wanting that person to change, because their spirits are not in Christ like ours. There’s a battle of good and evil (that person may be good, but their eyes are shut still), and we think about leaving this person be and just lose faith. But the prayer and love of Christ is so strong, that it’s done when He speaks and in His perfect time. We don’t have to lose faith. God bless you.
Jacob Lee you are Amazing, how is it that ever one of your songs makes me so HAPPY on the inside. Your voice is so Beautiful, again thank you for Sharing your Heavenly talent with the world.😊😍🥰
Here we go. So happy to see queenie in another video! Omg I love this Jacob it’s got the whole family in. 🥰 can you guys get any better? Such a beautiful love story. Epic work. Moonboy magic yet again 😍 thank you for this beautiful gift 💝
Well this is a live representation of how a nice guy will end after trying to fix a troubled girl. It kicks in with him fully fledgling his heart and soul to introduce her to the joys of life that she no longer cares for. Trying to build her from scratch sacrificing himself in the process, pouring his soul and heart in her losing himself to her so she can be. And we all know how that ends, by him being destroyed and she is getting back to her old shell. The visuals and the art in this are overwhelming. Moral of story "don't help someone who doesn't want to be helped, and be careful while helping someone who actually wants to be helped" J.B.P.
I love the meaning behind this song. Its bringing to light how even though you can bring your love to someone and you can think its enough, there will always be someone who tears it apart. And if one of the partners still loves their past person, and their past person wants to move onto someone else and leave them behind, then they will sacrifice themselves so that the person they still love is happy...even if they arent and feel torn down. Very well done! 🖤
Like drowning in the muck when love isnt what you expected. Never feeling good enough 🐝 cuts to the core. Thank you as always. What a gift. I love to cry
Here's my intrepretation: They both had good intentions when they were preparing the gifts they wanted to give each other, she picked the beautiful flowers and he painted a beautiful painting, but when they met to give the gifts, there was something wrong and they gave the wrong message when the flowers were dead and the painting was all black, then they turn away from each other, he didn't understand what went wrong and was hurt by her giving him the dead flowers, and she was mad at him and destroyed his painting and by doing so hurt him even more. After all that they both go down a dark path as he hurts and lays down on the black paint as a sign of depression for her leaving him, and she went from a innocent picking up beautiful flowers to someone darker, picking up the dead ones to make the bouquet. By the end she finds herself and her innocence again in another beautiful flower, as he takes all her pain and stays silent. I think the message of the video is that sometimes meaning well we get lost in translation and pass the wrong message without even realizing, some people can take the blame and keep it to themselves even if they don't know what happened, as a way to spare the other person from suffering. Many relationships suffer from that. The end of the video shows that even in our darkest hour, we can still find light in the darkness and follow that light to get back to our old innocent selfs. I might be wrong, but anyway that was my intrepretation. I can't get enough of this song, it really speaks to me as every other songs from Jacob, i'm obsessed with his music since i found him. I think somehow his music is changing me and making me a better version of myself. As an artist he is inspiring me. Thank You Jacob! Keep up the amazing work!

My perception on the video: she is the one who paints. He is the art itself. What happens is that she doesn't treats herself well, she despises her own art, that¡s why she breaks it and pulls her arms throught the canvas and hurts him.
"If I keep my arms, the harm you seek" was something romantic, like if you want to harm yourself in some way, stay in my arms and later "I'll be anything you ever ask" speaks volumes for him but not forever as himself. You can loose yourself in the way you love or have loved someone and it can be a beautiful gift and a work of art or something you put so much into and are so burnt out from what you put into it it's draining or something similar. I think the line "If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom, I will find another show" hints that if he was always on her mind and learned him as well as healed (bc he wanted to clean her mindset that lead to those scars. He accomplished that for the most part I assume, based on the ending for her). He wanted this beautiful healing between two souls to be at more than just one art gallery but in the end they only had that one show together versus if she did the same back for him. He wiped the slate clean in some way in her for her to feel not just enough but herself but his own health is shown taking him down alone? How long, really, did they simply enjoy the gift exchange?

My favorite song !!!!! It's crazy cuz I had a moment of being hypnotized and I'm laying awake but can't move , everything around me was black and I'm staring at a black sky. A black hand reaching down into my soul from the other side . The further it reached the longer I tried to inhaled . I was in panic . It's hard to even explain it seemed for ever reaching deep deep, such a hollow feeling .I finally woke up coughing and choking catching up on my breath. It was scary but then I heard this song and wowwww it's my #1 song ♥️ love your artistic talent .

Absolutely beautiful work! In every way. Congrats mate. This is spectacular.
💘!
Each song has a message which relates to God and jesus.
'if I make my arms the harm you seek'
He is willing to let her hurt him continously to take all her pain.
'may I clean your slate and wipe your consciouance clean'
He is taking all her sin so she can be pure hence the flowers are alive.
I'm speechless, this is literally one of my favorite songs and this video is so so so powerful!!! Beyond well done ♥
So happy you enjoyed, thank you!

Here we go. So happy to see queenie in another video! Omg I love this Jacob it’s got the whole family in. 🥰 can you guys get any better? Such a beautiful love story. Epic work. Moonboy magic yet again 😍 thank you for this beautiful gift 💝
Thank you as always ❤
Yes!
Artistry is a premium brand as well
Excellent music and video modern
I love the meaning behind this song. Its bringing to light how even though you can bring your love to someone and you can think its enough, there will always be someone who tears it apart. And if one of the partners still loves their past person, and their past person wants to move onto someone else and leave them behind, then they will sacrifice themselves so that the person they still love is happy...even if they arent and feel torn down. Very well done! 🖤
Like drowning in the muck when love isnt what you expected. Never feeling good enough 🐝 cuts to the core. Thank you as always. What a gift. I love to cry
No one:
Jacob Lee: Let's put a drop before the first chorus is the mv
Thank you, Jacob Lee. Your intention clears me, of all I am releasing. Blessed Be. Namasté
I'm a becoming a big fan of Jacob Lee. There's something about his voice which my touch my heart and soul deeply.
Here's my intrepretation:
They both had good intentions when they were preparing the gifts they wanted to give each other, she picked the beautiful flowers and he painted a beautiful painting, but when they met to give the gifts, there was something wrong and they gave the wrong message when the flowers were dead and the painting was all black, then they turn away from each other, he didn't understand what went wrong and was hurt by her giving him the dead flowers, and she was mad at him and destroyed his painting and by doing so hurt him even more.

All your songs together summarise how I feel in life but most importantly helps put in perspective the disconnection and shame I always feel for just being and saying what I am and have been through. This world needs to open up more. Your fans must be amazing people to connect and chat with

You know what I love about this song and video?
It's so complex and ambiguous yet smart that people can feel related to it even with polar opposite takes of its meaning.

Their songs are pure poetry, which inspire me every moment. They help me in the arts I do and intend to do like you. You with your voice make me feel complete and free from the problems that the days bring. I love your job. And you too. How I know? I just know!❤
I kind of feel like these are the many steps of growth in difficult relationships.
I've known this song for awhile. Every now & then, I think of it and have to re-listen to it 20 times again
Who dislikes this masterpiece... No heart no feeling. Great song brother. Thank you so much
Appreciate you Morabit ❤

@@achrafatlas5550 yeah meaningful 👌
My perception on the video: she is the one who paints. He is the art itself. What happens is that she doesn't treats herself well, she despises her own art, that¡s why she breaks it and pulls her arms throught the canvas and hurts him.
Perfect insight. ❤ imperfect self love either creates beauty or shame.
❤❤❤❤
Your takr on this is very beautiful ❤😊

Wow! I heared this by accident on spotify and replayed it about 20x 🤩
I love this song so much. Brother Jacob Lee, you are artistry itself 💓
