- At the fifth episode of my kite trip in Ceará, Brazil. Alex Neto and I will go from Ilha do Guajiru, all the way to Preá, stopping in Lagoa do Paraíso.
A famous spot that usually people go to spend the day in cool bars, but this time for a nice kiteboard session.
We will show you a beautiful downwind you can do in Ilha do Guajiru, a crazy session at Lagoa do Paraíso and some nice kiteloops at Preá.
ILHA DO GUAJIRU:
Very famous place for kiteboarding, the time to kite there is during medium tide.
Take care riding there on low tide since it gets really shallow. High tide it gets a bit choppy.
Nice hotels with all kinds of prices and styles lined up right in front of the river.
You can ask your hotel reception about the downwind around the mangroves. For example at Hotel Barraca do Kite, they take you in a small boat all the way upwind, so you can do this amazing downwind back to Ilha do Guajiru! Definitely worth it to do!
LAGOA DO PARAÍSO:
This huge lagoon between Jericoacoara and Preá is very famous for their nice bars in front of the water. You can drive it around if you have a 4x4 car and just find a place to kite exactly how we did.
Everywhere you go the wind will be gusty because of the trees that surrounds the lagoon, so not the best kiteboarding conditions, but nice for cool shots!
PREÁ:
Preá is one of the most famous places in Brazil for kiteboarding.
Because of the strong winds almost everyday and so many kiteschools, it makes it easy to just book your ticket and don't need to be worried about the wind forecast during the high season.
At the high season you can easily get the most of the days with 35 knots.

Um local famoso que as pessoas costumam passar o dia em bares legais, mas desta vez para fazer uma boa sessão de kitesurf.
Mostraremos um belo downwind que você pode fazer na Ilha do Guajiru, uma sessão irada na Lagoa do Paraíso e uma sessão incrivel de kiteloops legais no Preá.
ILHA DO GUAJIRU:
Local muito famoso para o kitesurf, a hora certa pro kite é durante a meia maré.
Tome cuidado ao velejar lá na maré baixa, pois fica bem raso. A maré alta a água fica um pouco mexida.
Existem muitos hotéis agradáveis com todos os tipos de preços e estilos alinhados em frente ao rio.
Você pode perguntar à recepção do hotel sobre o downwind em torno dos manguezais. Por exemplo, no Hotel Barraca do Kite, eles levam você em um pequeno barco até o ponto mais upwind, e então você pode fazer esse incrível downwind até à Ilha do Guajiru! Definitivamente, vale a pena fazer!
LAGOA DO PARAÍSO:
Essa enorme lagoa entre Jericoacoara e Preá é muito famosa por seus belos bares em frente à água. Você pode chegar até lá se tiver um carro 4x4 e buscar um lugar para velejar, exatamente como nós fizemos.
Onde quer que você vá o vento vai ser sempre rajado por causa das árvores que cercam a lagoa, então não são as melhores condições para o kitesurf, mas bom para fotos legais!
PREÁ:
Preá é um dos lugares mais famosos do Brasil para o kitesurf.
Devido aos fortes ventos quase todos os dias e às tantas escolas de kitesurf, fica mais fácil reservar apenas o seu bilhete e não precisar se preocupar com a previsão do vento durante a alta temporada.
Na alta temporada você pode facilmente aproveitar ao máximo os dias com 35 nós.

Hi Reno. Might be planning for 2-3 weeks of northern Brazilia this November/ December. I am used to castal waters, like the waves. Normally combine a waveboard session and a TT session “as one”. What 1, 2 or 3 spots would you suggest?. Nb - didn’t see any reef/ sandbank, point breaks at all in your series … ? Thanks.

Armei um 12 uma vez e me perguntaram se eu sabia o que estava fazendo, kkkkk, n há condições de manobrar de 12 no Preá na alta temporada kkkkkkk. velejei mas n arrisquei a pular... velejo muito bem em ventos fortes mas n tenho essa coragem toda kkkk.
hahaha pois é, no Preá realmente é um kite gigante né! Mas é isso, saltar o mais alto possivel tem que ter kite grande! hahah abraços!!

Você tem como ir pra todos eles obviamente de carro normal, mas com um 4x4 você pode chegar sem se preocupar em vários outros picos que valem muito a pena.. eu acho que vale o investimento!

Yes! I personally like the 22m way more, it’s a like a “sporty version” of a car if you want the kite to fly a bit slower and react not so quick, you can put 24m..
24m will also allow you to kite with less wind than 22m and have a bit of more hang time in the air!
