it's good for dbd but it's especially good in games like bannerlord, because the smaller you're the bigger area your shield is covering and you actually have less chance of getting hit and not just by arrows, but by melee attacks too. so yeah being a midget is OP
Lotta people are confused about the pick-up animation. Y'all do realize that Chucky is a toy possessed by some psychopath named Charles Lee Ray, and that's what's happening. Charles picks you and the survivor up to carry, this is also why Chucky is in third person. We're watching everything through the eyes of Charles. This is why we don't see him during the carry because we are actually Charles, controlling Chucky like a puppet. It also explains why Charles is there when in a queue as well.
"Y'all do realize that Chucky is a toy possessed by some psychopath named Charles Lee Ray," Bold of you to assume that DBD players know anything about the properties these characters come from
It's just a little awkward since Charles Lee Ray's ghost is not really depicted that way. They might have wanted to make Charles Lee Ray the killer and have his power voodoo if it was more lore accurate
One of my favorite things about him is his 3rd Person Camera, since it really does prove the bhvr are willing to try things that shake the core mechanics of the game, which DBD has needed for a long time. Hopefully this means they might try some patch to make doing gens actually fun, who knows.
Yeah, he catches up at loops *noticeably* faster than other killers. The footsteps mechanic is definitely a drawback designed to counteract a lot of his upsides, and there's a lot of little knobs there that they can tune to balance him if need be, which imo is great. If it turns out he's too strong or too weak in the PTB, they have a ton of options for adjusting him for live.
@@ScottJund was testing it with a friend and that seems to be the case unless hes carrying a surv, for example those awkward rock fillers in the middle of the street in garden of joy elevate him when he steps on their sides, whereas normal killers/when hes picking someone up dont get elevated. it may be VERY slight or just graphical but idk
@OOM-26maybe but the difference between Myers and Chucky is that Chucky is fucken tiny and like Scott said it’s really easy to mind game survivors as him thx to his 3rd person pov and stealth So perhaps a 105 movement speed might actually be warranted with how many advantages he has And unlike tier 1 Myers, Chucky has a chase power further making 105 make more sense, plus he’s a tiny ass doll it would make sense if he was slower then usual
Brad Dourif absolutely SLAYED the voice acting. I feel like Chucky wouldn't be nearly as fun without the authentic lines and trash talk, and holy hell did he deliver. You can just tell how much fun he had playing this role in the studio, it's hard not to smile. It makes you wonder what Freddy would be like if BHVR actually got Robert Englund. Also, the fact that the legendary skin will be voiced by Jennifer Tilly means that BHVR will have added the talents of not one bu two Oscar-nominated actors to the game roster in the same year. Can't wait to hear her jokes, because you just know she's going to be just as animated.
Robert Englund is seriously underrated as a voice actor. He was so good as Scarecrow in Injustice 2. That would be the closest you'll get to what Freddy with proper voice acting would sound like.
Chucky: "Hey guys, check it out., My power lets me go into a stealthy mode where I'm real short and sneaky, and then after shouting real loud I lunge forward really fast at the survivor and stab them! Eh', must be nothing." *Camera cuts to Pig, sobbing heavily while drinking an entire bottle of whiskey through the mask*
I'm pumped for Chucky. That said, not sure why people are comparing his ability to Hillbilly or Oni as you did when it's closest to Pig's. Stealth Mechanic with a Charge Dash Attack. It's better than Pig's, but it's the closest comparison versus anything else people are using.
I'm fairly certain it's just because of actual controls. It feels like an Oni dash, not a Pig dash, even if it mechanically is more like Pig's since like you said it comes from stealth.
I think batteries included with NOED in endgame is gonna be amazing, that is an almost perma 9% boost, as all the gens count as completed. If you run no way out with that, you are an endgame beast.
@@logan6768 yeah I didn’t assume they’d get him tbh, they haven’t always been able to cinch that stuff. Makes me hopeful for the game’s future. They’ve been doing a lot of good work
Friends til the end is actually a decent combo with STBFL since the perk can discourage the obsession to come for rescues. Even though it’s inconsistent, Knowing where the obsession is, is great info for STBFL
I feel like battery could be used in a very gimmicky "stronger as the game goes" build with fire up and maybe something similar that gets stronger as the game begins to shift to you losing
I've been asking for chucky in the game for years now. Always just thought it would be funny having an extremely short killer. He seems tricky to master but can be very satisfying to play as and against. Looking forward to seeing him
One Niche thing about the perk Friends till the end is the ability that the Obsession will switch off to that one random survivor. So what does this mean? You can use the perk Fugitive Chase where as soon as you hook the obsession with Friends till the end, another survivor will get the obsession at the same time you will get the undetectable status while knowing the location of that survivor. If the hooked survivor gets saved, the effect of fugitive chase won't work because the one hooked is no longer the obsession.
I love this killer, most of the licensed killer's I already knew and loved before they were added, this one made me love it and got me to watch the 1 and 2 movies today
furtive chase + batteries included might be a decent synergy. if you are on a map with a middle generator, it might be in your best interest to let survivors complete it that way the rest of the game you will activate batteries included many times. especially if that middle gen is in a main building, you can get that speed boost while looping main (think of saloon or haddonfield main building loop)
One more thing about two can play is that I will constantly reactivate as long as there is a dull totem after the previous instance of the perk was cleansed so long as you are stunned or blinded twice
Honestly, I’ve been loving the design choices in the last few chapters. I think they are on a good streak when it comes to killers. I’ve pretty much loved every killer after Skull merchant (we don’t talk about her). I think this is the peak of their creative teams ability to make fun and engaging content. When I saw Otz's video recommended to me I ha to check to make sure this wasn't April and is in fact still November. Child's Play was never something I expected to see in Dead By Daylight. Chucky being so short is really going to mess with so many people, especially trying to blind him. Mostly thanks for the video Scott, except for the Mori block.
Hidey-Ho mode seems like a bit of a better implementation of Pig's crouch. Like Pig, it's both his antiloop and his stealth. Instead of trading off movement speed or offensive capabilities, it just only turns on for a certain amount of time. So, players looking to dash forward realize "Huh, I have to enter this 'mode' before I can dash? Okay..." Then start experimenting with good ways to use that stealth just before applying that dash hit.
The main thing I think is super insane is gonna that friends for life perk is with the obsession swapping perks. That thing is gonna be NUTS when you do things like that.

One thing you're forgetting about the survivors side is is that you can see chucky's foot prints through walls of he's close enough. I've had great success using just that to loop him when you can't see him.
Because of the killer 3rd person with this, I think it would be cool to have a voodoo killer who's power would let them have 3rd person perspective and force survivors to 1st person for a while.
I don't know if it's just me, but does he have Alien Syndrome where if his misses his power, he still gets loads of distance before you can regain control? There's a reason that was nerfed for Alien, so I hope they didn't do the same thing twice

1:30 dear god, on a good nurse
Really cool to see a complete opposite of characters being super tall now being super short
So glad Springtrap is finally in DBD
This killer will be so fun with Beast of Prey
