imo it’s the definitive TWICE song
I really like "likey" because of the way the song is, like how it has an "upbeat" and "fun" tune that makes you wanna dance, but when you actually look deeper into the lyrics, it's actually kind of dark for a song with an upbeat and happy tune.
well I wouldn't say dark tbh I think deep is a better word since it talks about how they're caring so much about appealing perfect to others and it reflects a true situation in society where everyone is caring too much about looks (and it also talks about the rise of social media and how likes and hearts play a big part in life) and is forgetting to live their lives and be truly happy, anyway it's also one of my fav songs too because of this contrast!!
@@niimoni816 well it is pretty dark bc the rap talks about how they're sad and put off their friends just to sit and wait for the person they want to notice them, and when they finally do everything is good again and they're temporarily happy. it shows that they put on a fake persona to get people to like them. (not talking about the girlies just the song)
This song is about expressing your true emotions in front of a camera. 4:34 is without a camera and everything is dark & dull, and in 4:37 with a camera everything's colorful. They can't express what they truly feel in front of a camera because no one's gonna click the heart button if you don't follow the beauty standards of social media so they're busy and trying hard to be as beautiful as possible but on the bridge they're sad as they don't get to express their emotions freely. I love this song so very much it's about being cool with being yourself and reminding y'all that you don't need to create a fake version of yourself just to be loved and accepted by others.

LIKEY is an amazing song. It’s dark meaning, but it still having a fun and bouncy sound and mv. The song is so catchy, and the visuals are perfect! The whole package!!
FUN FACT: Likey was shot in Canada in an open space. Fans were watching them, and they had to modify the song to not spoil it. Fans leaked it and said it wasn't a good song only to find out that it wasn't the real song 💀

As someone who lives in Vancouver (where this video was shot), I remember when this video went up 😂 One of my classmates basically made my professor project it onscreen and everyone wouldn’t stop pointing out all the locations (btw fun fact: Jihyo’s part with the camcorder is in Steveston and that’s where Once Upon A Time was filmed too!)

One small detail I have always loved about this video is that the dress Jeongyeon is looking at in the window of the shop is the one she's wearing during the dance number in the square near the end of the video. That little detail was so unnecessary but really makes it feel like you're watching a story play out.
I've watched the MV soooo many times, exclusively looking at Jeongyeon, yet I did not notice that detail. 💀🤯
Wow im glad you made it to twice concert and it was even your first kpop concert i really want to experience how awesome being on their concert is, btw the idea of momo having a fast forward background is genius to me because she isn't really moving aside from her lips and eyes and its impossible to film her separately since the other members are touching her hair

This is one of my fav TWICE MVs! It has a vibe that's totally unique to this era alone. The MV feels so nostalgically simplistic yet so fun and colourful too! Thanks for breaking down some of the shots!! Your insight is always so enlightening.
Likey's MV was actually filmed in Vancouver and I'm mad that I was late to become a Once cuz I was actually there visiting a family friend when they were filming this lol. We experienced the rerouting of traffic/pedestrians a couple times and we saw stuff in the distance. Wish I had known...just would've been cool to know.
And I was kinda surprised to see it, but the hand-painted "Terry Fox Run" sign in the school locker room made me smile. Twice's team probably had no idea, but that's a happy surprise. It's a yearly event in Canadian public schools to raise money for cancer research. Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope is an important memory for Canada & his statue is in the Capital and everything. An unexpected and unintentional shout out haha.
Momo bias confirmed hahaha to be honest, she's an incredible dancer
In the shot at 06:25, I believe Momo was filmed against a blue screen (if you pause it while her hand moves away from her, you can see a blue color bleeding around her fingers), and then they filmed the girls jumping around in the actual background, all using a high frame rate for the slow mo. The props (paint tubes, pencils etc) were also filmed separately against a blue screen, since you can see the same bleeding around them. Then it was all composited together and the speeds were mixed and matched. Pretty cool effect!

I love how, during the chorus, when the choreo has them pointing their hands down to their hips it is always pointing towars where the 'thumbs up' like button is when watching the video.
Ooh you were at the Twice concert? Me too! It was actually my 4th kpop concert (I went to 3 BTS ones) but the girls were amazing and the energy was incredible. I went 5/15 so we got to say happy birthday to Dahyun!

Twice’s Encore concert in LA was also my very first K-pop concert. I had such a fun time, and I agree the vibe is totally different from any other concerts and festivals I’ve been to. Looking forward to more!
Actually the scene at 3:13, I think they recorded two separate things. They recorded all the girls doing her hair and slowed that down, then they edited a video of her lip syncing and cut out just her mouth and pasted it onto the slowed video. You can really tell when the other girls huddle around because the girls on her left cast a shadow on her face, but the area around her mouth is still bright!
