    Thank you for the review. I have played this at 3 player count. We largely enjoyed it. We did not have an issue with duplicate cards but I do see where you are coming from, especially at 2 players. The only problem I found was the lack of player interaction during the build phase. Overall it is a very good, quick, combo, engine building game.

    I agree with everything you said the duplicates, lack of most direct interaction, etc and it honestly I think my go to for a filler worker placement game. One thing I don't think you addressed since you do two players mostly is the speed of play even at higher player counts since most of the game is simultaneous

    Thanks for this Rahdo great job as always.
    I'm torn between this with expansions or Machi koro 2. What would be your recommendation?

      for me there's no contest. FF is a much richer and deeper experience than MK :)

    Would've been nice if you mentioned where you can get it... is it released? next year? Kickstarter? I can't find it on Amazon, and don't have access to BGG. Thanks

      It was fulfilled to backers this past month. Currently limited retail release with wider distribution in January. For now you can order it directly from the publisher: fantasticfactories.com/

    Hi Rahdo, thanks for the playthrough of this game (and all your other playthroughs!). Do you prefer Fantastic Factories or Gizmos? I am thinking of getting one or the other and not sure which to go for.

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  4 роки тому +1

      FF definitely. gizmos is very cool, but a much lighter game

      @@rahdo Thank you, appreciate the quick response! How quick do you think a solo game can be played in FF and Gizmos?
      It's interesting that Gizmos is considered lighter but they have similar ratings on BGG. I guess there is a lot more thinking required in terms of card interaction in FF.

      @@jayplays568 gizmo's has a solo mode??? i was not aware of that, so i don't know much about it tbh.
      it's interesting, i guess they're comparable length games, but gizmos 'feels' longer because it takes more time to get interesting combo engines up and running....

      @@rahdo Not officially, but there are solo variants on BGG that look really interesting. Here is a link to one, I would be really interested to hear (or see!) your thoughts on Gizmos solo! boardgamegeek.com/filepage/170465/gizmos-solo-variant-custom-gizmos

    I liked the concept but the absolute lack of interaction killed for me... It is not simply that I dont affect another player much, I don't like games in which you take all your actions almost secretly and then simply state in the end how many points you made. People can cheat or simply make mistakes, and these become uncheckable. And you are to stop and play one at a time and audit each others movements, then it just gets too long. In that end it feels underdeveloped to me.
