My Note 5 hasn't exploded so I'm happy. Honestly, it's still and will continue to be a great phone.

It's 0.02% or 1/42000 units. Samsung is just being responsible for just in case something apple would never do.

People are complaining because iphones iterations are minors upgrade, but what to think about note5 to note7 ? Not even an upgrade, it's a downgrade (you lorst the best feature, the fast note by double taping with the stylet).

The reason I am looking at note 7 is that, my note 5 don't have *always on* screen and pin note on the *always on*screen. Because I always tend to forget to do many things.

Important issue you missed to mention !!
Note 5 comes with 32GB only however nearly HALF is used by system that can not be freed.
So basically, the note 5 has only 15-18 GB of internal memory excluding the apps you will download.
That takes it down to less than 15 GB ONLY available.
Otherwise, its an amazing phone once rooted.

The note 5 rooted means u can install custom ROMS that make it a beast.
Note 7 fixed phones still have issues and unreliable. especially for such an expensive device with battery issues, battery duration and stability. lags in software, and so on..
I would rather Rooted Note 5, till Note 7 becomes reliable in 6 months and cheaper.

I have a note 2...still an amazing phone...thinking of upgrading.The s pen seems really nice...would love to take notes with it.
Note 7 is a worthwhile upgrade from Note 4. Barely. Because of Sammy pay combined with sealed battery, I will avoid root. Because of the decent software experience out of the box, I'm ok with that choice. Note 5 is like having a Ferrari with a 2 gallon gas tank.
What were the games you were playing in the review?
My Note 5 got sweat on it from cycling and got messed up. I switched to the S7 Edge until I got the Note 7. I liked the Note 5, It's a great phone, but the Note 7 is so much better. It has the ip68 rating, no more worries about getting it wet! The expandable memory is great, the updated s pen is pretty cool also.
So I'm still undecided. There is only a $5 difference on my plan between both phones. Should I go for the 7 or 5? I currently have a Note 3 that I'm upgrading. I'm a heavy phone/data user.

The edge functions are not really hardware specific, because there are custom ROMs for the flat Galaxy s6 which have it but of course Samsung won't update the Note 5 with it because they obviously want to sell the edge variants.

I love my Note 5, but I also want the Note 7... Just don't want to get blown up! After the "fix", I'll observe and if nothing else has gone wrong with the 7, I probably will but it.

After the latest news of a Galaxy Note 7 replacement phone supposedly catching fire on a plane I've changed my mind. I'll buy the Note 5 and get the Note 8 a year from now. I carry 2 phones around so hopefully won't feel the lack of external memory of the Note 5 too much.
Or it might be the Note 9, You never know.

I'm getting 6+ hours with my SD820, and ive been screen protectorless sense the recall and haven't had any problems. (I work in a dusty dirty warehouse and haven't had a single scratch, even dropped it face down on a concrete floor.. just saying)

Also I may grab the rom or port rom to flash to my note 5. I don't need anything else. lol. However I have no lag on the current stock rom.
I would/will seriously consider getting a Note 5 now. It seems silly, but absence of SD card expandable storage kills things. Having that would make the 32GB model VERY attractive. Please don't remove useful things from phones like SD slots and 3.5mm jacks.

naim mohammed yes. I have note 5 64GB exynos. my friends use S7 edge and eventually it became leggy because it's snapdragon.
Note 5 vs oneplus 3.. I am confused af. The only oneplus 3 does wrong is camera! and note 5 is a bit dated in terms of chipset, I dont really game a lot nor am I, a photographer but when feel like doing something graphic intensive or shoot a photo/ video it should be really good!
I bought the note 7 after note 4 only because of the memory card. my Note 4 became useless after the last software update, it started powering off and on by itself. unfortunately due to battery issues I have to return my Note 7(still have it) just really don't want to give it back since it works fine and doesn't overheat while charging but eventually I will since it won't be allowed on a plane and I will have to travel. I decided to go back using my Note 4 but did request an exchange because of the software issues, t mobile didn't have any refurbished in stock so they sent me a brand new sealed in original box with all accessories note 5. I now will have a note 5 instead of note 7. hopefully I will like it but will definitely upgrade as soon as Samsung releases one of the 8th generation phone with the pen.
