- Hey everyone! In case you missed my community post earlier this week, this is going to be my last upload for a few weeks while I finish up my final college assignments. I'd say a 10-week streak is a pretty good run haha.
In this week's episode we have the inevitable "protect the environment" episode featuring the return of season 1 character Sapna. How does her return stack up against her first appearance? Watch this review and find out!

Something you guys have been pointing out is that despite the fact that scorpion-tailed spiders exist, they still don't have claws, so I guess these spiders aren't really as accurate as I thought after all!
Shadow Streak turns out I was wrong about arañita but the ñ is pronounced like how you say senior not like nuh.
10 weeks is impressive for video uploads. You should take a break if you feel like it. Don’t let others tell you otherwise.
I mean considering their fictional and based around a fictional flower does leave a little leg room for the imagination
Oh right the professor's love interest from way back. I totally forgot about her. Also ppg and captain planet crossover would be something to see. If ok ko teamed up with him why not the ppg
If the OK KO crew were to make an actual crossover with PPG, there's no doubt CN would force them to use the ones from the reboot. Remember when Teen Titans Go did that? Or even Uncle Grandpa for that matter!

Scorpions are also arachnids, so it’s reasonable to think that maybe this spider lady we know only a bit about may also have some abilities connected to other arachnids when exposed to chemicals
That and she must be riddled with health issues.

I think there was a missed oportunity to get Sapna temporarily out of the show because she chose to dedicate herself to fixing all the damage caused by the pollution while looking for a cure, it's a little better than Javier doing all the work and letting her stay for free in the hotel (which makes him look more like an awesome guy)
They should have named the title Spider Scents as a pun on spider sense and the flowers' reputation for its spider attracting scent.

They should've called it "Spider Scents" since the flowers are known for their unique smell. That would've been kinda clever.

I've always been critical about the show's lack of action. It is the other half that made the original complete. Without it this show is so boring....
I miss the action too but the reduced action isn't the worst part. The original had some great episodes with less action like the clown episode. It's the fact that they use freeze frames that pisses me off.
Gone is the slapstick, physical comedy, satire, bad puns mixed with good puns, and witty dialogue. Now we have Adventure Time style surrealism.
The character nobody ever wanted comes back...I’ll try to contain my complete lack of excitement.

I think this episode has some of the best action segments in the whole reboot
The PGG see an ad for a vacation and they want to go then they realize they can't because they have responsibilities. To cheer up her sisters Bubbles organizes a staycation. She turns the house into a 5 year old's idea of a resort. And Bubbles should pretend to be the over the top tour guide. The rest of the plot is completely unchanged The Professors Girl friend could just be in the back yard. There is a giant forest behind the fence. Buttercup: Balls go back there and never come back. Dramatic Thunder Bubbles: There is poison ivy and bryer pathes Dramatic Thunder. And I thought of a better ending. All the villians show up and polute everything in the most obnoxious possible way. *Blossom:* Stop Polluting the environment you guys we are supposed to protect the earth. *Princess:* Like all of the Factories Cartoon Network hired that polute the air with all of your PowerPuff Girls merchandise. Then there is a cutaway to all of the products in a land fill. *Mojo Jojo:* You aren't supposed to actually go green you babies you are supposed to say you are going to do it but not actually do it *Powerpuff Girls:* Well if you can't beat them join them then they act the same way they are acting at the beginning.
*claps hand* HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE REVIEW AND THIS SOUNDS BETTER ALREADY.

That Captain Planet intro was a stroke of genius. KEEP IT UP, MY MAIN MAN! I mean Puff. LOL!
I mean, if the resort really is true, there probably is a giant armory for shooting clay targets that can be repurposed to actual fighting that Javier could use.

Didn't the girls decide never to leave Townsville because the last time they did they accidentally went forward in time 50 years to find the world in a post-apocalyptic state--oh, wait this show doesn't care about inconsistencies.
To be honest there is a difference between like a week and 50 years, plus half the villains would get board knowing the thrill is not there.
Spider Sense? what does this have something to do with Spider-Man?
The writers: "Be-because she's a spider? And....and Spider-Man reference!"
A big problem with the reboot is that they don't write episodes with gags in mind. Isn't the point of the show to be funny.

Reason the professor and girls can touch the toxic glowing green radiation river. Because the reboot never cares about consistency. I'd like to see anyone name one time when it cared about that.

@@mitchfletcher2386 The hair isn't Spikey enough. The shapes should be more angular and less round. The eyebrows look like Butch Hartman eyebrows though.

Also, let's not forget in the Crystal Heart special Sapna was a villain and tried to kill the girls over that maguffin for Bubbles.
I honest surprised Javier isn't a villain, he has that suspicious undertone in his character
Sapna would make a good Dark Souls boss.
If anything, that spider professor has a nice design. I mean as a human, though Scorpion people are a cool concept.

No idea if this was stated or not, but wouldn't a better title be "Spider Scents"? It would be a play on Spider Sense if they wanted to keep that, but it would play more into the aspects if the episode like the scent of the flowers as well as the spiders.
I think this is a massive improvement over her first appearance. The plot is good, the action is once again better than the first season, and the jokes work.
Also, good luck with your collage assignments! The amount of videos that you pumped out the last few weeks are more than enough 😎👍

Yeah I too thought they fucked up I mean I know Scorpions (As well as I believe centipedes) are Arachnids too because they said "Spiders" but they looked like by design Scorpions.

Hackie Puffs Actually arañita does mean little spider. The last letters -ita, -ito are diminutives (which is why the literal translation of burrito is little donkey) You’re right about aranHita though, I like his videos but it kept bothering me that he pronounced it like that.
When I was younger I kinda was led away and never looked at the more logical side.

So the girls screw up in every episode and are usually not punished or called out for it too much, but Javier screwing up and then resolving the problem he made can’t be let go.

Spiders are not scorpions. They are both arachnids, but it is the same difference as a bee is to an ant. The scorpion tailed spider thing loses credibility since they have pincers
Yeah but unlike the Chinchillazilla, this is far more closer to our reality. Yeah the pincers aren't realistic but the show took enough liberties that it still hangs relatively close to our reality. So much of a better improvement.

Man, Javier puzzles me. He has a Spanish flamenco attire at times, but then he switches to a Mexican wrestler one. What is he supposed to be? Switching between Spanish and Mexican is like switching between English and American.

Can you do a review of the Dexter's Laboratory episode 'Labels' please. That's my favourite episode.
To be honest I don't think this show is bad. It's just average. I think they could do a lot more with this but Cartoon Network plays it too safe so they try and take a more comical approach. Sure the original show had funny moments but it also knew at times when to take things seriously. It was after all a show about super heroes. Miller needs to learn how to write reboots better. Taking a source material and converting it into a more comical setting doesn't make it a good reboot. You need to know the source material you are coming off of. Take Ducktales for an instance. Even though that is a modern show I feel like I'm reliving the past seeing these characters and their exploits. It holds true to the original material. This though not so much. You could replace the main trio with different characters who also have light super powers and it wouldn't change a thing.

For a show about "GIRL POWER", the girls in this version really suck.

Yeah, SO IMPORTANT.
I mean, what else can I say? A badly forced environmental message with a character people have long since forgotten in a lackluster battle. Powerpuff Girls 2016, PER THE NORM. And I just realized something; one could argue that of the three, Bubbles and Blossom weren't be WASTEFUL but rather just randomly collecting weird stuff. From what I saw in the review, they weren't throwing it away, wasting it or anything. They were just collecting it which, if you could frame it in another way, could be seen as good because at least they would know how to store it and what to DO with them to make use of the items they collected for various purposes outside of the original means. One could also argue they'd make sure that nothing would go to waste of their specific item and they would find good usage for it even if it were damaged. An just because the bottles are 'unrecyclable' doesn't EXACTLY mean their UNUSABLE after their first purpose. For all we know, Bubbles could just wash them out and put in even MORE of her favorite lotion over and over and over and over and over again!
You know, sort of like RECYCLING!

BUTTERCUP is the only one who is actually being wasteful since she is not reusing or collecting the item she wants and just throwing them away en mass, even if it is still useful. Again....why the hell does she have to be the asshole in this? It doesn't make sense but it just keeps happening.
