I think the biggest piece of magic missing from the maker games is hidden exits tbh. It was so cool to find alternate paths that led to secrets with bonus levels hidden on the map.
Two things I would like to see added to Super Mario Maker 3. 1. Message blocks allow the creator to write messages in the level that will be shown when hit. It can be activated by the player or by an offscreen contraption. 2. Star Coins and a star coin system give players a bigger incentive to look for secrets than just 1-ups and 50-coins. Up to five can be hidden in a level and star coin gates can be used in a Super World to hide bonus levels or restrict access to the final castle.

I think the distance at which a player is launched from a pipe could be determined by the color of the pipe. Making red shoot the the furthest and blue the shortest. That way the player knows what they're in for before entering the pipe and helps the maker from getting confused when creating levels.
@@SmashyYT Yeah, but it could be also have an option to control the trayectory in which mario gets launched from the pipe, the color dosen't matter...😅
@@IvanFranco120 Immediately after reading your comment, I imagined a three-choice pick-a-pipe troll with pipe launchers where the one furthest to the right was right next to a pit, and the middle pipe is the one that shoots you to safety. The pipe furthest from the pit angles in a way that shoots you into the pit, and the pipe closest to the pit (the most probable choice of those trying to outthink the troll, I would think) shoots you up past a cloud or semi-solid platform into a place where your only option is a traditional pipe that leads to a time-wasting anti-softlock involving a launcher you can control the direction of, and moving blocks on a track acting as a blockade you have to time the launch to get through to touch something to damage/kill Mario.

@@Grane1234 I don't see any reason why the basic-looking wooden crates wouldn't be considered different objects than the ones thrown out by Builder Mario.
@@Grane1234 I'm not sure what you mean by that. Coding has never been an issue for Nintendo's programmers. for me, I want more technical blocks. (especially in SMW since that's my favorite) like i can't say how many times i've wanted to put an entity on a block that Mario can't stand on
1. Countdown platforms, while not really necessary, would be a cool addition to the game, so I agree. 2. Climbable fences don't really have a reason to exist with vines and cat suits + semisolids existing, but there's a bigger issue holding them back. When you're on the back side of a climbable fence, things on the front can't hurt you. But what happens if an enemy in front of the fence like a parakoopa flies away from the fence right as you come out from behind it on the side? 3. Now hot garbage pick-a-path levels can kill me for choosing the wrong pipe _in style!_ 4. Stretch platforms would be a simple yet fun idea to add. 5. While these would work functionally, I wonder how the actual flipping animation would work for such a thin, wide object in a 2D space. It would probably take some time to figure out exactly how these platforms would work in Mario Maker. Overall good ideas, but I see several hurdles keeping some of these items out of the game.
I love how the first entry on the list was literally just: * A feature that we already have but just jazzed up a little bit * : Nintendo *NEEDS* to add this! * A feature that we don’t already have that would be very useful for many people * : Eh, might as well I guess.
i want a purple-orange and yellow-green on-off blocks as well as the classic red-blue, as well as message blocks, ? and ! switches, as well as custom blocks that you can give certain sprites, atributes, and even different types (i.e. items, enemies and collectibles/gizmos) and “welding” abilities to link a block to another, such as parakoopas that fly with snake blocks (the paratroopas would do everything they would normally do, but now also keep up with the snake block without being on it) as well as an option to move an object to not snap to grid. (also, the ability to change the sprite of certain blocks would be p cool)
Theres a few things I hope they add in SMM3. 1. Water tiles | Lava tiles | Poison tiles. Instead of having an overlay of water, poison or lava, players can place down tiles that can be used for hazards or scenery in their levels. This can be a huge improvement as users won’t have to use ice blocks or lifts on tracks to make it seem like theres water in their levels. 2. Tanks. I’ve seen many users make levels that are based on tanks. This could also be a huge improvement for SMM3. 3. Geysers and waves. These could be used for levels thats mainly focused on platforming, and could help with castle levels as waves are seen in NSMBU castle levels. Thats all, I have an obsession with levels that have water in them for some reason, especially making one.
I think that in super mario maker 3 they should let you combine course themes. so lets say if you combine a desert and jungle you get the beach theme, or if you combine Jungle and cave you get sewers, if you combine water and skies you get a huge waterfall in the background of your screen which can allow you to use geysers.
Disco shell, Yoshi power ups, clear pipes in all styles (or pipes that function as clear pipes do), naked koopas + kicking shell koopas. I'll try to think of more
I heard that the reason more stuff hasn't been added to Mario maker is because the level editor uses all of the switch's RAM to load in all the items. I'm not sure if this is true though, but if it is then Super Mario Maker 3 will definitely need a console with more RAM to exist
Things I would like is more sub world options, also allowing either 2 or 3 checkpoints in each subworld (maybe only 2), and finally, longer levels (the thing that lets you pick how long the level is should be longer) Edit: even more things I want: the info block things from smw, the fuzzy of course, also the clear conditions from story mode that are not in the clear conditions, also those those electric sphere things in nsmb, and finally (I think) maybe some new enemies or items/power ups?? Edit 2: and I can’t forget , place-able lava and water so you can put it anywhere
i think mm3 will be availible in 2023 or 2024 bc mm1 was relesed in 2015 i think, if thats correct mm2 was relesed in 2019 that makes it 4 years between the games so i honestly think a leak or a mini trailer will come neer the end of the year, it sorta makes sence.
I think the most wanted thing for me seems like it should have been in the game already: water, lava and poison, but instead of being one huge body that is across the entire level, you can place them like regular tiles. That way we could have a castle filled with water, or a desert with an oasis.
another thing that needs to happen is the powerup hold on feature where you can have an extra powerup on you, this feature could be enabled or disabled by the level creator and you can not take powerups past levels unless its in a superworld and this feature would also be an enabled or disabled by the level creator option.
The ability to put pipes in slopes without floating above them due to collision, and also decorative pipe “walls” like uh those pipes that curve and go up I guess. I’m Bad at explaining things Oh and those hidden concealed areas in walls that are used in NSMB Wii and U
Technically, there already is the climbable grates. Way back with Mario Maker 1, somebody made a little trick to make them, by adding several vines, and then adding tracks for the koopas.
Ok but imagine a Nintendo Direct sometime in the future, you see a yellow box filled with familiar sounds. The title shows up: Super Mario Maker 2. The text becomes 3D, and the 2 gets knocked down by a 3D. The title now: Super Mario Maker 3D.
This is impresive! Hope Nintendo puts all those additions to the game. 🤞 😄 I will also put my own list of new items, enemys ir new options that i'd like to see in SMM3 in the future: - An option for Hammer Bros to throw at least 2 or 3 hammers at once, instead of separate. -The windmill platform from Yoshi's Island series. -An option for Firebros to thow fireballs repeatlly, and constantly. (An concept inspired by the Mario Fovever game) -Fire Vines (an alternative version of the vine object, than can be climbed on but only for 5 seconds) -An Pipe Sewer theme -Power Stars (An alternative object that can be used as a secret exit goal, just like the NSMB series) - Button Height Platform (An element inspired from Yoshi's Island DS) If something stands on that platform, it'll active an contraption that can be linked to somewhere. (Like an moving platfrom or an trap door) And, that's all, but these are just one of many examples, of SMM3 proofs that he REALLY needs! 😅
One thing I really want to see in Super Mario Maker but probably will never happen is the possibility to go back in time, just like in the game Braid. Just imagine, you go into a level and somehow you get softlocked, instead of waiting until the timer runs out/ starting over you can just go back in time a few seconds to the point before you got softlocked
As a new type of block or a setting which the creator can set so you can go back in time a set amount of seconds every so often and or a certain amount of times would be really cool and may save spaces for doors, as well as possibly giving new puzzle concepts
draw block would allow the persin to draw something and when its hit the drawing pops out and costume mushroom, you'd know what they are if you had a Wii U and the first mario maker game
What about the big platform in nsmb where you have the big platform that has a number on it showing how many objects can be on it at a time and when it hits 0 it falls
@@naturesfrontier1745 Yes, but also with SMB2 physics. But Nintendo probably won't scrap any of the previous game items, so that's why I had this idea.
Ya but what about the same thing for ground it can be round too and it can also extend its S to E then the original from Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for 3Ds, and Super Mario Maker 2 3:21 and also adding the "Three blocks Long Question Mark Block" and also extending the size for your "Super worlds" Too

- custom background colors
- custom object size
- more semisolid variation
- more enemies
- koopalings in different modes
- restart to checkpoint option
- banning all “refreshing” levels (kidding but still)
for me, I want more technical blocks. (especially in SMW since that's my favorite) like i can't say how many times i've wanted to put an entity on a block that Mario can't stand on
Super Mario Maker 3 should just have literally every feature ever included in any platformer Mario game
Yeah, but it still planing...
You're right
Bruh
3. Now hot garbage pick-a-path levels can kill me for choosing the wrong pipe _in style!_
Good list. Another idea is to have secret passages where you can walk through walls, and then there is a spotlight showing the hidden area.
I love how the first entry on the list was literally just:
* A feature that we already have but just jazzed up a little bit * : Nintendo *NEEDS* to add this!
* A feature that we don’t already have that would be very useful for many people * : Eh, might as well I guess.
The SMW message block could also be cool for story based levels, or to introduce a mechanic
I would really like to see item dropping enemies that can drop any power-up when you defeat them, balloons would also be a nice feature.
Actually, there are sound effects for the flip panels in the games files that go unused
They should add placable water too
Yep.
And lava, poison, and quicksand
@@jimmy_os any fluids what are in the games
i want a purple-orange and yellow-green on-off blocks as well as the classic red-blue, as well as message blocks, ? and ! switches, as well as custom blocks that you can give certain sprites, atributes, and even different types (i.e. items, enemies and collectibles/gizmos) and “welding” abilities to link a block to another, such as parakoopas that fly with snake blocks (the paratroopas would do everything they would normally do, but now also keep up with the snake block without being on it) as well as an option to move an object to not snap to grid.
I think they should also make it so that you can adjust the number on of times you can jump on the platform that falls when you jump.
Things I would like is more sub world options, also allowing either 2 or 3 checkpoints in each subworld (maybe only 2), and finally, longer levels (the thing that lets you pick how long the level is should be longer)
Edit: even more things I want: the info block things from smw, the fuzzy of course, also the clear conditions from story mode that are not in the clear conditions, also those those electric sphere things in nsmb, and finally (I think) maybe some new enemies or items/power ups??
Edit 2: and I can’t forget , place-able lava and water so you can put it anywhere
the electric sphere guys are called amps
i think mm3 will be availible in 2023 or 2024 bc mm1 was relesed in 2015 i think, if thats correct mm2 was relesed in 2019 that makes it 4 years between the games so i honestly think a leak or a mini trailer will come neer the end of the year, it sorta makes sence.
I brushed out laughing when I saw the rocky wrench kill itself with a bomb in the 3d land gameplay
I actually would like Charging Chuck's to be brought in
I think the most wanted thing for me seems like it should have been in the game already: water, lava and poison, but instead of being one huge body that is across the entire level, you can place them like regular tiles.
All I want is a "start from checkpoint" button to prevent intentional softlocks
The ability to put pipes in slopes without floating above them due to collision, and also decorative pipe “walls” like uh those pipes that curve and go up I guess. I’m Bad at explaining things
Oh and those hidden concealed areas in walls that are used in NSMB Wii and U
Technically, there already is the climbable grates. Way back with Mario Maker 1, somebody made a little trick to make them, by adding several vines, and then adding tracks for the koopas.
Guys just know that most if not all of these are in the mario bros x fan project if you wanna see that they can be implemented
Ok but imagine a Nintendo Direct sometime in the future, you see a yellow box filled with familiar sounds. The title shows up: Super Mario Maker 2. The text becomes 3D, and the 2 gets knocked down by a 3D. The title now: Super Mario Maker 3D.
One small thing I would love is to have different burner sizes
Extendable burner sizes would be nice, and having them remain stayed on or rotating would also be a cool feature.
I'm 100% sure that sequel for smm2 will come out before 2024
I hope if it does ever come out, it comes out on 2023 so it will have a lot of Luigi references
When does mario maker 3 come out
This is impresive! Hope Nintendo puts all those additions to the game. 🤞 😄
I will also put my own list of new items, enemys ir new options that i'd like to see in SMM3 in the future:
- An option for Hammer Bros to throw at least 2 or 3 hammers at once, instead of separate.
-The windmill platform from Yoshi's Island series.
-An option for Firebros to thow fireballs repeatlly, and constantly.
(An concept inspired by the Mario Fovever game)
-Fire Vines (an alternative version of the vine object, than can be climbed on but only for 5 seconds)
-An Pipe Sewer theme
-Power Stars (An alternative object that can be used as a secret exit goal, just like the NSMB series)
- Button Height Platform (An element inspired from Yoshi's Island DS) If something stands on that platform, it'll active an contraption that can be linked to somewhere. (Like an moving platfrom or an trap door)
And, that's all, but these are just one of many examples, of SMM3 proofs that he REALLY needs! 😅
English fail
@@alysdexia What??
@@IvanFranco120 an, one, he, proofs, et al.
@@alysdexia Those are my typical english spelling, sorry for that, i'm Spain... I did start with spanish language, before speaking english fine. 😅
@@IvanFranco120 the problem is diction, not spelling.
50 coins should be Yoshi coins or Star coins depending on the theme.
There should be a 100 coin and a final option for star coins. But what would the star coins do?
@@vadimyudkovsky9022 a 100 coin is just a one up though
@@tree6015 then the 300 coin, more satisfying then collecting 3 one ups!
Good concept! 😳
As a new type of block or a setting which the creator can set so you can go back in time a set amount of seconds every so often and or a certain amount of times would be really cool and may save spaces for doors, as well as possibly giving new puzzle concepts
@@slyar I actually thought that a button on the controller would do it
@@yeledcenter3906 Yeah, but all sthe settings about it set by the level creator
These were the most nice ideas for a game
Koopas of all colours, Yoshis of all colours, beach koopas and empty shells
They might also add bridges on mario maker 3.
The use of the "bridge" is when the player moves one piece on the bridge will fall as the player goes.
draw block would allow the persin to draw something and when its hit the drawing pops out and costume mushroom, you'd know what they are if you had a Wii U and the first mario maker game
7:37 these are already possible if you use the smb2 jumping mechanic and some more mechanics and theres already levels with that.
Yeah, it takes some time and stetup, here they want to put everthing in one second at all. 😅
2:27 watch at 0.25x speed for suffering
Man I love your Belgian Accent!
Couldn’t you use Skipskweaks as a way to make Flip Switch in 3D world
0:09 We actually saw the twisters, in the smb3 w2 in the iconic level of the sun
What about the big platform in nsmb where you have the big platform that has a number on it showing how many objects can be on it at a time and when it hits 0 it falls
Thanks for showing my level for the flip switch section! Awesome video Smashy :)
Awesome stage!

I just want tons of more themes, also, it would be cool if you could make secret areas in the terrain
We really need charging chucks
You know what would be cool? In SMM3, if you would pick up a SMB2 mushroom, everything around will change to the SMB2 style.
or just a straight up SMB2 style
@@naturesfrontier1745 Yes, but also with SMB2 physics. But Nintendo probably won't scrap any of the previous game items, so that's why I had this idea.
Assuming SMM3 even happens.
BUT if it does happen: Bring back stackable pipes!
Ya but what about the same thing for ground it can be round too and it can also extend its S to E then the original from Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for 3Ds, and Super Mario Maker 2 3:21 and also adding the "Three blocks Long Question Mark Block" and also extending the size for your "Super worlds" Too
I hope they add the mini mushrooms and mini pipes, ice flowers, fake walls, and star coins. I think they would be really fun.
Can't wait to SMM3!
With smm2’s low sales, I highly doubt that smm3 is coming anytime soon :(
This is a myth. It was the best-selling game in Japan during its first two weeks of release, selling 279,357 physical copies. By the end of March 2021, the game had sold over 7.15 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games on the Switch.
@@Rizarjay I literally bought the Switch for SMM2, but I doubt Nintendo would be interested in making another one due to the kind of the company they are.
@@UltimatePerfection That makes no sense. They’ve already made 2. 3 if you count the 3DS port. Seems like a weird place to stop.
Why not add alternative goal like the pole to smb3 and Mario world? Or have those exits in smb and new smb change how you can build an exit to finish
I'd like to see the cousins of the count down platform like the weighted lift or the directional lift from mario 3
It would be cool to see those green platforms from 3dw (the ones that you need to stand on to make them move)
I would add locked pipes so that people could make player fight a boss then go straight to the flag instead of through a door then a pipe
Like a cork in a pipe
@@jimmy_os yeah I was thinking like a Grey'd out one that can turn to any of the other colors after unlocked then you can go through it or if you put an item in it, it'll start spitting out the item or enemy at whatever speed the pipe color is.
I would be genuinely surprised if they made a Mario Maker 3, it seems so unlikely
Im hoping to be able to use any course part for any theme, so I could use clear pipes in smb1 or the goomba shoes in smw
...I wonder how many weeks it would take for the final update to be released if SMM3 was made.
Maybe, about 3 years or something...
The twisters you mentioned was actually in SMB3 in one level.. the level with the angry sun
We need more mushrooms platform options. We need the bouncy ones from NSMBDS and the stretchy ones from NSMBWII
I'd like to see a better version of the Boswer Jr. and the Koopalings Bosses with all their gimicks, a better 3d world gamestyle, a brand new gamestyle, everything you said on the video too but add a separate building system to, for example, make a wall blocking the exit in the front part then use the fence thing to go to the bg part, improved super worlds, firebros and boomerang bros in all styles, different color clown cars for each koopaling, costume mushroom, stacking pipes, story mode exclusive items on maker mode (including toad, carryable stone blocks, clear conditions, etc.), new course themes, and for now, that's it.
I feel they should add the blocks that allow you to give instructions when hit.
Can't we use the Red Blue Panels as Mario jump sensors?
a mini-pipe block for those all-pipe levels would be cool in my opinion!
Honestly some interactions with the background & foreground such as being able to have a mario clash game style. Or even an improved 3d world style.
Something I've wanted since the OG Mario Maker has been the option to make tracks invisible
Yeah, maybe...
People who make troll levels: 😈
A better feature would to be able to make tracks two tiles long.
I hope they add styles to Super Worlds. At at least add SMB3 and NSMBU world themes.
Me, who only has the original: *Confused screaming*
The countdown platforms would be nuts
0:59 a great thing using super mario construct with the countdown platform! it has the countdown platform!
I think the direction platforms would be a better idea than timer platforms.
