I use this crossing regularly. Traffic going over the crossing is also stopped at a red light while traffic in the main road is moving. Essentially it is a standard road layout T-junction and is signalled as such. However when the barriers are to be lowered, traffic on Logans Road is signalled red, and also traffic turning left and right from the main road is also stopped. But traffic staying on the main road is allowed to continue moving. I don't see how this crossing and junction could be signalled using wigwags - doing so would mean that would need to operate at times when the barriers weren't being lowered.
This is one of a few to have this traffic island intergration system at it. Wigwags would solely be used for the crossing rather signalling the junction, if indeed there was the room here, I'd imagine
There's just not the space to fit any. The existence of the traffic signals (NOT Mellors, but Siemens) is a real saver here. There is room for pedestrian signals, and how they've not been put in yet is a mystery tbh
Idk, looking at the crossing on Google maps makes it look like there’s plenty of space, a wigwag can easily be put of the pathway where the bridge is, the only problem I see is the bridge on the side your on, however it’s not on the side of oncoming traffic, so a wigwag there won’t really be a necessity
Excellent video as always 👍
That’s a very interesting crossing there. Brilliant Video! Really enjoyed your Scotland Videos! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video and crossing! Love the unusual set-up there, definitely have enjoyed the videos you've posted from Scotland!
Glad you have been! Always love an unusual setup that sticks in the mind.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Same. Part of why I decided to make a whole compilation of them a few years back, lol.
This is quite a cool crossing I must admit. Interesting placement of the Yodalarm at 3:28 - never seen one mounted on a footbridge before!
It's a very strange place to have a yodalarm. I love this crossing.
Great alarms here!
I was surprised at what the closest one sounded like when I first heard it after it was fixed.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings it’s my favourite type
