It's one of the ones in the area I'm personally least-fussed about tbh. It'll still hit home seeing a crossing on my old local line be no more, and it'll be the first crossing in Surrey I'll have ever seen go.
Great video! Shame this is going, I wouldn't be too surprised if the gate mechs and arms get reused somewhere else given how new they still are. Love the older tri-light wayside signals there as well, looks like one's gotten LED bulbs at some point? It's interesting that the crossover just east of the crossing doesn't seem to have any way of indicating if a train is lined through it or not either.
I too read that article. An accessible footbridge seems to still be part of the plan as of now, but it seems that'll be delayed now as has the main bridge's opening.
@ it would be interesting if it did happen but I don’t think it will now as I think they changed their plans now to keep that crossing for pedestrians only
It probably will stay until at least a little after November, but I wouldn't hold that as 100% sure. Something has to provide a step-free connection between the platforms until a footbridge gets built.
Excellent Videos! Really gonna miss this crossing.

Excellent video, Another Crossing bites the dust!
Indeed.

Nice video I filmed this a couple of weeks ago shame it’s going though and I’ve only seen it once!
Nice video! Shame it's going. Also what is going on with the signal at 4:42 ?
That'll be the refresh rate of my camera in relation to the alternating frequency of the lights' feed. It wasn't actually flickering at all.
Great video! Will be interesting to see how long this lasts as a step-free arrangement for the station...
Thanks, bud! That is what I am going to be wondering. It really could go any time after the road bridge opens, but not too soon after.
I heard that this crossing is not going to get removed now it’s actually going to be for pedestrians only and all the vehicles will use the new bridge

Ah this is a shame, i dont see why its closing. Fab catches.😊
It's a busy crossing that's lowering frequently, as well as forcing traffic onto rural, unsuitable roads, and misuse too.
I'm very annoyed bc I could've gone here on my Kent trip
That is a pity. You've still got time if you're heading anywhere towards London in the coming months
NOVEMBER!? Ugh, no chance for me filming this crossing then? Hopefully it'll be kept like Ely and Kings Dyke, so it won't be torn to pieces

@@SouthEastLevelCrossings fair enough. Or they can turn in into a Sherburn In Elmet Style Crossing, which may be better than the current setup
