  • The legacy of St Thomas the Apostle’s missionary journey to India took a front seat in Indianapolis on Day 4 of the National Eucharistic Congress as the Holy Qurbana, the Eucharistic liturgy of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, was solemnly celebrated at Lucas Oil Stadium, presided over by Mar Joy Alappatt, the eparch of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in the United States and concelebrated by Ukrainian Catholic Archbishop Borys A. Gudziak of Philadelphia. Mar Alappat said that the Holy Qurbana has its roots in the early century as some of its hymns in the original Syriac language “originated from the time of St. Thomas the Apostle.”
