@@jayk9068I couldn't care less about a trans person being in a video game as this is a wizarding world with no historical accuracy, but calling someone who doubts if there could be a trans person 200 years ago in the UK transphobic because hindus practice it in their own way is the reason why so many people are put off by the trans "gotcha" movement.
I mean... trans people have always existed and it's a fictional world with literal magic. How can you apply real world logic to it? A trans person in a magical setting wouldn't need access to HRT if they can just point a wand at themselves and transform their body a bit.

So far one of my absolute favorite trans characters in gaming is probably Claire from Cyberpunk. Claire is also voiced by a trans voice actor! Another good one is Catalyst out of Apex Legends! The Catalyst voice actor is also trans! So its nice to see some representation in games even if its not something that happens all that often, but i think its slowly getting there.
A disappointment and colossal failure
I think it has to do with 2 things. One is the time period, and the realty that magical people would most likely have the best opportunity to physically Transition, but we're still in the early stages of doing so. The other is simply that Transition is not something every trans person experienced the same way. Some only Transition with name and clothes, some others with surgery and hormones. It's all about what makes them comfortable and happy in life.

I will not buy this game or any Harry Potter merchandise-book, because, even if they put a trans character in the game, the money, all the same, goes to supporting hate, and a hateful ignorant woman. Sad to see something so good, come form such a spiteful person, but just cause it looks good on the outside don't be fooled. Is Rowling genuinely apologizes, then, I will consider supporting her and her product, but till then, there are other better none transphobic authors you should be supporting.
That's fine, completely ignore the entire development team and game studio, or the fact that she wasn't involved in making the game and she receives almost nothing for this game, if you really want to hurt her bottom dollar protest her toy sales and universal studios, instead of taking the easy route and protesting a game she has no involvement with
she already made all the money she will make off the game a long while ago. any money spent on buying the game just goes towards the people who made it.
and even if rowling were to apologize, which she won’t, i don’t think that will redeem her after all of the damage she’s done willfully and intentionally.
@@SoullessKuriboh this is such a weird argument to me, because why does the fact that the game was made by a dev team and game studio matter? Everything is made by people, you could say that about literally any boycotted product. Rowling profits off of the game's sales and the continued popularity of Harry Potter that buying the game signals.
Anyway, I'm fairly certain most trans people are also not buying all the other HP products that come out, myself included. The game was the most recent big product for the brand that had a lot more issues beyond JK's involvement (including its first lead designer having an anti-LGBT youtube channel, and arguments for its Goblin rebellion plot being anti-semitic), so obviously it was going to get this kind attention. Why not try refuting the actual arguments against the game and its creators instead of changing the subject to something completely irrelevant?
