Although I think it is less value per dollar than the T72 AV Turms, the br of T-55AM-1 is a lot more fun with competent teammates and not so many 1 death leavers. When I bought the AV turms to grind the russian tech tree my win rate is like 39% while the profile average is around 55%. If I could make the choice again I would buy the 55 AM-1. I am STUNNED. The editing and voiceovers are great. I love the little power point like presentation plus the explaination of each armor side. If only I would have found this channel earlier in my newer days of War Thunder.
Nice to see how YT changed something in the algorithm and for a month or so I'm seeing some new channels in my feed constantly. You have a good take on a pretty stagnant format, I really like the balance between being informative and entertaining - and as a 55AM enjoyer myself I 100% agree with you. The only thing that I would add to your mix is 2-3 smoke shells - they can be pretty useful in combination with rangefinder. With them you can preemptively disable some dangerous camper nests when crossing the open space. They're getting more and more useful with every new goddamn ATGM or tank with low profile safe-to-peek turret that's added to the game.
As a first time viewer, you channel is fantastic! The video is insanely good! Keep it up and one day you will get what you truly deserve for your channel and yourself.
I Own both the T72 AV and T55AM-1/ T55AMD/T55A/T64BV/T72A and out of all these MBTs, the AM-1 Is the best by far, It has EVERYTHING you need, and 8.3 is a fun BR. Avoids top tier Premiums.
I got it for 30 and I only have about 2 games in it so far. So glad I got it instead of the Turmst. I gave the T-62 and T-10M a tali anyways so it’s a great addition to my 8.3 line up

Great video! I love this channel. I disagree on crew points . . . as a personal vehicle lover myself, I would take those GE, wait for a sale, and purchase a nice mid tier premium vehicle in another tree (or even an aircraft). That way you can spice up your gameplay when you get bored.
Good point about spending GE. Of course crew points isn't absolutely the best use of golden eagles, but I just want to give people more options of what they want to do. High level crews make tanks perform much better, and to buy qualifications on high level tanks, you need high level crew. Saving GE to buy other stuff is always another option as well, that can be the better option if your crews are very low level. (Honestly the GE starts to burn a hole in my pocket if I have to much for to long)
I pretty much just load the ATGMs and APFSDS. I dont really find a good use for the APHE as the APFSDS can reliably kill a crew making the enemy unable to fire or blow up their ammunition. Its also less susceptible to angles than APFSDS. The ATGMs can be useful for longer distances and against helicopters, which I have shot down more than I should've.
Tbh I mostly load the APHE to mess with STRV 103 players, as the early dart round actually has a fair amount of issues with penning the angled armor. APHE with the LRF just makes it so much easier to snipe their cupola and nuke their crew, and less of a chance for them to escape like with the ATGM's
@@bb-152ussmeta9 I do have troubles with 103, although quite an uncommon enemy to face somehow. Where would be good spots to shoot at? especially APFSDS. I just never bring APHE at all, both to reduce ammo count and because on uptiers, which are most of the battles, they're not as reliable
@@reedman0780 For the most part, your best bet is to aim for either the lower plate if you can, or the copula's if your shell/missile has explosive filler, simply to overpressure the cramped crew.
@@bb-152ussmeta9 oof. Most 103s like to dig and hulldown. Making their lfp basically gone. Cupola maybe but im not familiar enough with 103 layout that I can shoot it even with an atgm because most 103s like using a fuckton of bushes

I regret buying the T72 Turms. While being an okayish 9.7 tank that did help me grind out the T90 and T80BVM it just isnt fun to play in its BR. Russia doesnt have the best lineup for top tier vehicles no mater how many people say that top tier Russia is biased stronk. You have the T64B? Congratzs you also have all other modern MBTs. I occasionally play 8.3 Russia and its much more enjoyable. The T55 and T62 are great tanks. The T55AM is 100 times more fun to play imo.
I totally agree that 8.3 Soviet is a more enjoyable lineup than 9.7, even though it's fell out of favour a bit as of late. But the turms is way better than okayish. It's easily the best 9.7 MBT in the game, with a great gun and round, gen 2 thermals for gunner and commander, rock solid armour and decent mobility. The only thing that lets the turms down are the teams, as mostly they are made of sub level 30 players with no backups who die without a kill then leave.
Why is this so good and funny. How are you allowed to have so few subs? Also, if you’d like, could you do a video on the TURMS? I’ve been hesitating for a long, long time between it and the AM-1 and I think it’d be great for others to compare both reviews and decide what’s better for them. But really, do whatever you want and I’m gonna watch it 100%.
Definitely go for the the AM-1 if you're still holding your breath. Maybe in the future I'll make a Turms video, but its not in "the pipeline" and I don't want to make any promises about future videos.

My russian 8.3 win rate is just above 50%. I have more than a 2:1 kda with this thing but the uptiers (80% of my 8.3 games) are just painful. Classic teams dissolving in 5 minutes. Don’t have much fun in this tbh. Good tank tho, i especially love the missiles on it.

Whats worse is that I got the BMK, but I cant build a lineup because spoiler: the BMK is 9.3. So frankly, just get the Turms. You can build a premuim lineup at least.
Sure, if you want a premium lineup 9.7 is absolutely the way to go. Have you tried using the darts for the T-55? It's pretty good tbh. XM-1 has horrible armor, so not really anything to worry about. The Merkavas are pretty tough, but if you can shoot the lower front plate with a dart, it goes through the power pack pretty well. Uptier = darts Downtier = APCBC
a bit late but just wanna say that smoke shell are fun to use, not to smoke yourself that just dumb but to smoke your enemy. someone holding a chokepoint? give them the smoke and they cant do shit and it is easier with laser rangefinder lmao. usually they just sit there fiddling their butt waiting the smoke to fade while you move to better position or they do something stupid and push out of cover because greed and got shot lol

@@conradkaplan1579 The T-55AM-1 is better for points and for grinding the entire tech tree. The IS-6 is easier to use and is a lot of fun, even for new players. If you don't have any "top tier" experience, the IS-6 would be better as you would be more likely to earn higher rewards per game. The T-55AM-1 isn't super "difficult" to use, but if you don't feel comfortable playing at 8.3, then you probably won't be able to get the most out of the tank. Every purchase depends on who's getting it, so choose what works best for you. (Also, wait for what might be a pack sale coming up sometime within the next month.)
YES so much yes. These are my favorite premiums. If could have bought them with the discount I would have. Definitely do it if you want a lot of rp and sl. The T29 is fun too because big gun go boom.
In most games I'll bring out the T29 and then when I die switch to the F80A. If I need another tank I would play the T34, the M46, or the T92. The T34 is basically the T29 but with solid shot only. The M46 gets HEATFS, the M82 shot, very nice zoom in gunner's view, and can drive pretty fast. The T92 gets APDS, HEATFS, and can be very sneaky. I don't like the T95 because it's too slow, but it can be fun if you just want to meme around. If you reeeeeally want to spend more money you could eventually save up for the A2D-1, which can get a bunch of kills with the x2 2000lbs and the x8 500lb bombs. The 20mm cannons are nice too. I very nearly got enough points for the nuke once from just the A2D-1. If you do decide to spend your money, then I hope you have fun and buy crew points for an even better experience. :)
@@CrabbyPattyMoox great advice now i know which tank I should research first. Which crew skill i should max out first and how much CP I’m going to need? A2D1 is already in my sight for a while. I even practice bomb run with it at the shooting range lol. I’m just waiting for the next sale, hoping they’re going to let me have it for half the price if they’re generous. Eventually im gonna get it since its a fun plane to use.
For 1k GE you get 17,500 crew points. Buy all the stuff on the bottom first: tank driving, gunner targeting/rangefinding, commander leadership, reload time, artillery stuff, and max all those out. In the logistics, buy the top repair rank so you can repair higher level vehicles in game faster, and don't worry about repair speed because that only affects hangar repairs (very confusing). Once all that is done go back and upgrade all the other stuff on the driver up to like 2.5, except the keen vision if you play rb. Then go to the gunner and do the same. The extra buffs only apply when that crew member is in the tank, so on smaller tanks there will always be two crewmen and upgrading past driver/gunner wouldn't be efficient. On bigger tanks the extra crew bonuses will be applied, but at this point you'll run out of crew points so just upgrade everyone up to 2.5 or as much as you can. You only "need" to buy one round of the 17k crew points, but I guess if you really wanted to throw away GE you could spend even more.
Ay yo. It's not about luck or skill. It's about up or downtier. Like when you play the Leo I and have a lot of 8.3 tanks after 5 minutes around your spawn. That just sucks.

If you reeeeeally want to spend more money you could eventually save up for the A2D-1, which can get a bunch of kills with the x2 2000lbs and the x8 500lb bombs. The 20mm cannons are nice too. I very nearly got enough points for the nuke once from just the A2D-1.
If you do decide to spend your money, then I hope you have fun and buy crew points for an even better experience. :)

A2D1 is already in my sight for a while. I even practice bomb run with it at the shooting range lol. I’m just waiting for the next sale, hoping they’re going to let me have it for half the price if they’re generous. Eventually im gonna get it since its a fun plane to use.
For 1k GE you get 17,500 crew points. Buy all the stuff on the bottom first: tank driving, gunner targeting/rangefinding, commander leadership, reload time, artillery stuff, and max all those out. In the logistics, buy the top repair rank so you can repair higher level vehicles in game faster, and don't worry about repair speed because that only affects hangar repairs (very confusing).
Once all that is done go back and upgrade all the other stuff on the driver up to like 2.5, except the keen vision if you play rb. Then go to the gunner and do the same. The extra buffs only apply when that crew member is in the tank, so on smaller tanks there will always be two crewmen and upgrading past driver/gunner wouldn't be efficient. On bigger tanks the extra crew bonuses will be applied, but at this point you'll run out of crew points so just upgrade everyone up to 2.5 or as much as you can.
You only "need" to buy one round of the 17k crew points, but I guess if you really wanted to throw away GE you could spend even more.

Ay yo. It's not about luck or skill. It's about up or downtier. Like when you play the Leo I and have a lot of 8.3 tanks after 5 minutes around your spawn. That just sucks.
