MONSTER'S BALL is a hard-hitting Southern drama tempered by a story of powerful life-changing love. No lie I saw this bootleg DVD and thought it was monsters Inc. and the opening was them having sex. I was eight years old and horrified.
It's been known to happen lol I went to see Strays, that movie about dogs, so many families and kids there, they all left within the first 10 mins 😂

This movie won Halle Berry an Oscar. And she was the first (and so far only) African American to win the Oscar for Best Actress in a *LEADING* role. Every other Black Actress that won an Oscar has been for Best Supporting Actress.
It’s why they had her co-present Best Lead Actress at the 2022 Oscars. Having the first Black winner for Lead Actress had it off to the first Asian Winner for Lead Actress, Michelle Yeoh.

I just saw this movie for the first time since it came out. I'd forgotten they were in it! I only remembered Halle and Billy Bob!

First time I saw it was with my ex husband and friends and remember feeling so uncomfortable and blushed face. I just watched it tonight 23 yrs. later and it's heartbreaking yet deeply loving & human. Also the last time they got in bed together was extremely sexy, just words 🔥
