@11:08 I don't think the documentary said eating fish is unhealthy. It just says that you would not be missing out on anything if you were to completely eliminate fish from your diet
Nobody pronounces it that way because it's written as one word. Most that like the movie or its cause can't acknowledge any flaws in the title. Makes me wonder if they would check the plausibility of the movie by applying any doubt.
@@dobleclanger whoa! that's such a big stretch! hahaha it's obviously a continuation of Cowspiracy and the "conspiracy" part is well known imo. Vegan docus is all about appealing to the gullible population. Always using extreme numbers and half-read cherry picked studies to deceive people. The backlash here is about the honesty of such documentary subject in which vegan filmmakers are known of having notoriety on.

I appreciate the overall non bias take on this but I wish you put more emphasis on how important protecting and sustaining our oceans actually is instead of mocking the creators. It’s proven to be a very fragile ecosystem which is responsible for supplying us with 80% of our oxygen and occupying 70% of the surface of our planet
The creators had an oportunity to send a clear and accurate message on this but they prefer to oversimply for shockvalue but is actually detrimental to the cause.

@@hhancp I know about radiation, believe me. Almost everything about the supposed Fukushima after effects is pure hype and based on ignorance. I'm not saying it wasn't a disaster. But no matter how much of that core leaked into the ocean, it's been diluted to completely insignificant levels by now. Even background radiation is probably hundreds of times higher. Locally though, it was a huge disaster, I won't argue on that.
An article I read hypothesized it was to go along with a series of pro-vegan documentaries by the same guy, the other one being “cowspiracy.” By putting the word “sea” at the beginning, it aligns closer to the theme in terms of the readability of the title.
I’ll tell ya. It’s the piracy of the sea :) So it’s meant to mean “conspiracy” (seaspiracy) and “the piracy of the sea” (seas’ piracy). That’s how I see it at least
The best thing I learned from this doco was algae for omega 3! I feel like it's a great solution and I've advised everyone who takes omega 3 to get an algae based one! Very very happy they included it in the doco
@Clarissa 1986 heya. Im pretty sure any omega 3 supplement can increase bleed time. That's why plastic surgeons or cosmetic places ask you to refrain from using fish/krill/omega supplements before surgery. Luckily I don't have diabetes and I don't mind paying a good price for quality algae oil. But what I found so far has been fairly cheap and comparible to omega 3 pills. Thanks for the tip on diabetes patients!
Clarissa1986 what article have you got that warns against algae oil and whom is it by and have you asked yourself who funded this report as many studies funded by different groups often have a vested interest in a certain result. However I must admit I do agree that in the long run it is better to get your nutrition through diet rather than supplements but you can actually consume algae and other seaweed / sea vegetable products. It's a very common in Japan and it's exactly where the fish get their omegas from. People have been using these products in one way or another for centuries. Also look at the benefits of Spirulina and Chlorella. Obviously anyone considering supplimentation needs to be very discerning about which one they choose. Some are far better than others with no fillers, chemical additives etc. Not everyone likes or wants to eat fish. Personally after alot if research have started taking an algae oil from a very reputable company while Iearn to incorporate sea plants into my diet going forward
Also important to note for anyone on any medication or underlying conditions who ate considering any supplements to do their research and discuss with their GP as many supplements and other medicines can interact with each other, not just in the case of algae oil. For example I take thyroid meds but have to wait at least an hour afterwards before having dairy products or taking iron supplements. Similarly iron supplements and dairy should not be taken at the same time. Unfortunately low iron count is something I suffer with regularly due to heavy periods so supplimentation is necessary
@Clarissa 1986 I understand, but some people live far from the sea or are vegN/vegetarian so eating algae or fish isn't an option. If you do a simple google search you'll find omega 3 supplements cause blood thinning. Which means it's hard for your blood to clot. Humans have been consuming algae for thousands of years. So it's very safe to eat. The supplements have been around for over 5 years and I personally haven't heard anything super bad about it. I'm super happy that fish don't have to die for my supplements. It's unnecessary
@Clarissa 1986 have you watched to doco? What were your thoughts on it? Having a supplement is a great alternative. And transporting frozen foods in some countries is impossible or too expensive. Vegans and vegetarians should be able to have access to supplements. If you don't personally like supplements that's ok. But they should be available. Yes algae is nutritious and good for you. It's been a staple food in Japan for millennia. Japanese people live a very very long time. So algae is safe The blood thinning is a non issue unless you about to have surgery. So you just stop taking any omega 3 supplements for two weeks. But even then it's not an issue if you have emergency surgery. That's what blood banks are for. 5 years is a long time. It's a very safe supplement.
One of the key aspects of this documentary is that it points out that the industry set up to check and regulate the fishing industry (which is where the scientific community will get it's stats on this issue from) is completely compromised as far as it's ability to accurately keep track of the true amount of trash filling up the oceans.
Thing is, the documentary is not wrong at all. Rather they have put out a powerful message that we need to be listening to. Never did they say that other plastic was unimportant, but they did use their platform as a direct way to put pressure on these companies who as we have seen in the film and in their responses, are pretty much bureaucratic pirates. I don’t think we should be downplaying the message; which may not have been the intention here, but from my perspective the way this video is presented just seems a little too lighthearted for the subject matter. Otherwise, it is good to fact check sources and question the information provided, but given the extensive amount of reliable sources already given from the film, I’m not sure quoting NatGeo is exactly what we are looking for to help our skepticism, especially since they are one of the platforms serving the “plastic straw agenda”. Just look at their cover with the seahorse on the straw, heartbreaking but distracting. Btw, Seaspiracy works because its “sea’s piracy”
As a deep sea fisherman this is accurate. We don’t however cut the damn fins off sharks. That was disgusting. We do document and also have MPI Officers on our ship to police everything we do and to maintain the laws around fishing management quota. All plastics are burnt or kept on our ship until we reach land. This is a good documentary
You're dead wrong, "deep sea fisherman", Robert Rangiuia, if you deny shark-finning is still occurring! Google quickly makes clear that the practice still exists in many countries whereby fish butchers mutilate live sharks, slicing off their fins for human consumption and then discarding the live but helpless amputated sharks back into the ocean, where, unable to swim, they die a slow death by suffocation. That cruel practice need to be ended!
I'm sure you understand that Greger advocates for a whole-foods plant-based diet. Isn't it disingenuous to refute his recommendations with most of the studies presented analyzing overall population? Our diets are so horrible that we can eat almost anything and be healthier. Hell, research on fasting has even taught us that we can simply not eat and be healthier. When we want to learn if something is healthy or not, we have to compare it using an example with some relevance. You've talked about this already in videos like the criticism of industry-funded papers for the benefits of eggs. Lastly, the only two studies you cited comparing vegans to other populations -Adventists' and Okinawa- come from cohorts that lived in remarkably different environments that what we have nowadays. They had a fraction of the pollutants. Further more, Okinawan's had a diet consisting on

A great review and a very honest one especially about the health benefits. I take a supplement to get the omegas. Anyway thanks for breaking it down!
Basically the gentleman said the movie is right about majority of the things. Yes they maybe oversimplify but People - all industries are hidden from our eyes and all just care about profit increase. Not even profit but profit INCREASE - and with years and years you come to the point of no-sustainability like that. Bottom line is that we are fishing and catching things that are not ours and are for sure not limitless. They are very limited and they are very connected - so how can we think it will have no effect ?
I'd encourage you not to do that. BPA deteriorates in sunlight, and so repeated use of the same plastic cups and bottles means you're ingesting more BPA than you would if you didn't use plastics (or if you used BPA-free plastics, which as far as I'm aware excludes most single-use plastics).
Sea shepherd already had its own documentaries. And merch... and actually they were rammed by the Japanese whaling fleet, not the other way around. They are a great organisation and people should donate!
No, the health data was just saying don't worry about not eating fish anymore. We need to save the oceans. It might be healthy right now for people to be eating fish but it won't be healthy for us when all the fish are gone and the ocean is dead. We're looking at long-term widespreading health or death.

Wait, he stated “ based on the evidence both eating fish a couple of time a week and not eating fish at all are both compatible with health “ given that he confirmed the points around environmental harm and population decline (just in a sarcastic way), why would you continue to eat fish?
It would be better for the environment also if you had never bought your device and not waste the electricity to access the internet, so why do you continue doing it?
Didn't expect fishing to contribute so much to ocean pollution tbh. The film makers do lie about it it's not the biggest source of pollution. It's still a valid point tho, just wish they wouldn't lie and make themselves untrustworthy. It's so off-putting. Edit: they didn't lie. That statistic only refered to the Pacific garbage patch and not total ocean pollution.
Did they actually say that fishnets etc. is the biggest source compared to everything else lumped together, or did they mean compared to other single sources of pollution?
@@carinaekstrom1 ok, I’ll try to find out, and write it here in the comment section 😄 Edit: Hi again I found out what they said: they said that all fishing gear including garbaged fishing nets, are the major source (meaning they account for more than 50 % of all plastic) of plastic in the "great pacific garbage patch", and that fishing nets alone account for 47 % of the plastic. This was about half an hour into the documentary, right before the interview(s). Hope I could help! :)
When it comes to the health part, you kind of nailed it when you said that it is not neccessary (for getting all nutrition needed) and when acounting for all externalities fish should be a no go. IThis issue goes so far beyond health and when it is not neccessary for health there is actually no compelling arguments. Also, if the oceans are being depleeted now, imagine if all people who eat meat switch to fish instead. Dead oceans for sure. I get that people are unwilling to go vegan but if we want a functioning planet thats is the most viable option.
but no ones ever going to do that. Its the same argument for hunting. Not everyone is going to become a hunter. I mean tags and legal limits and other regulations aside depending on where you live. Ppl say well if everyone became a hunter, well thats not going to ever happen. The other thing is all the environmental impacts of vegetable/ fruit/ grain farming. Might wanna really look into that one.
@@paddywan Thats still a short-term solution’s responsible for water shortages, destruction of habitat, and threatening/endangering many species across the world both plant and animal. Conspirasea was the best title option. Aside from the conspiracy angle, the producers could’ve gone with something “gate” as a way to denote scandal or corruption, but they didn’t want to get sued by a data storage company.
The show is built up on scientific facts, it’s not a conspiracy so that makes no sense? If the title was conspiracy people would watch the show with a closed mind and not take what is happening seriously.
Just a note on the personal choice argument. The personal choice not to eat fish is not a great argument as personal choice implies that you are the only one afected by that choice, in the case of eating fish, the fish is also afected by it. With that said, love your videos and they are helping me a lot following an healthy diet. Abraço!
The 80% of plastics being from land sources that you cited are from 2002! That is 20 years ago!!! Where are your current resources? If you know anything about citing scientific resources you should be citing current information.
What you forgot to consider about the sea turtles part was that though they tried to focus in on bycatch as the main factor, their hard evidence didn’t deny climate change as your fact check mentioned. Throughout the film, it repeatedly put emphasis on how much the oceans vegetation regulates carbon. It also made a point about how we are learning how marine life can help regulate temperature. So basically bycatch and overfishing was leading to destruction of marine vegetation which causes climate change and further affects animal populations. Since turtles eat sea vegetation, that could also be another reason why they are endangered, something also cause by overfishing or irresponsible fishing practices

Nutrition Made Simple Seaspiracy DEBUNKED in this comment. This is what happens when you read “science” in the title, but after all the video shows a talking bust giving HIS opinion most of the times AGAINST the documentary. While you base a few of your data arguments on some texts to debunk Seaspiracy, what you are really doing is to give your opinion regarding the “relevance” of the eating fish issue. Of course, eating fish has benefits, but this is not the point. We are talking about a huge problem of a global crisis (we are not only talking about our dietary benefits) and the point (that I guess you didn’t get) is the difficulty of raising public awareness on the climate emergency (sometimes you need to put things worse to make them realise). Videos like this one do everything BUT HELP; how relevant do you think it is to put the fishing as “one of the most” causes of plastic contamination, rather than “the most”, as the documentary explained? If you want to help the planet but also be the most accurate person in the world, go ahead, do this video, but don’t trivialise about the harmful fishing industry only because you don’t agree for personal reasons or because you feel guilty or not strong enough to stop eating animals. YOU ARE NOT HELPING THE PLANET.
Thanks so much for the video! Fice years ago I went vegan after watching Cowspiracy and it really bothered me that at that time that people either completely demonized it or agreed with everything.
@Clarissa 1986 I’m vegan and I’m curious about what your diet was (what you used to eat and if you knew what to eat to get all the nutrients you need). I would also like to know why did you take pills (assuming that it was not only B12). Because any diet can be unhealthy if you don’t pre-plan. And what are the facts of life you’re talking about. What are your (scientific) sources ? Or is it merely your opinion ?
Maybe we should dump fully informed people who've seen the documentary and have done a bit of research and reflection, but who won't stop eating fish in the reef. It's a double win for the earth and its inhabitants :)
Up here in Alaska a lot of small fishing families were pretty disappointed with the oversimplification of the industry. While of course they aren’t contributing very much to the growth of the ocean animals by fishing, they do participate in a responsible manner and are sure to follow the regulations set in place. It’s definitely interesting to hear their point of view on the issue
Those suggestions are amazing 😂 Appreciate & Admire the way you try to be as unbiased as possible & focus on separating fact from fiction while being humorous throughout the video. Thanks Doc ❤️ & btw the outro music is great
That one guy being interviewed trying to give the analogy for suitable fishing by comparing it to a bank made absolutely no since. The only way that I could make sense of it was that if you start a fishing farm with X-amount of fish and relied completely off of the fish that were produced from those farms. But this interview happend before they introduced fish farms in the film.
I think you misunderstood Dr. Greger. I think when he said what he did about fish was that there isn't any nutrition in fish that can't be had elsewhere. I love your vids. Please keep up the great work you're doing.
Don't those sunken fishing boats cause pollution? And all those plastics and nets aboard? Then there's all the global warming because of the diesel fuel being burned on the assault ships. Wonder if that will be in the sequel.
I loved the docu, you did not talk about the plastics, i found it strong and i disagree with you. Also talk to meteorologist, algea have a lot of influence on our weather, and we should talk about sustainable fishing, because what happens is that bog fishing boats will get regulations that they have to and can pay for, but a fisherman who lives on the coast of Indonesia could also be told that they are not allowed to fish, the SeaSepherd guy explained a bit about this. I would love to see more of Seaspiracy. The part of kayaking- why do you not talk about that ? Your video is also a bit debunked in my mind.
I really want to watch this video, but I feel like I need to watch Seaspiracy first, so I'll try to watch that this week or next. And I think they went with the name Seaspiracy because of how the name ties in with Cowspiracy, to show that they're connected, one is on land, one at sea.
I was fully hooked(see what I did there) on this video when you laid out 7 better titles than the actual title itself. I mean … ConspiraSea? How did they not chose that!

I'll say that again: best nutrition channel on UA-cam! I always look for unbiased nutrition information, and I this content is awesome. Two questions/suggestions for future videos: would you consider talking about (1) whether we need EPA/DHA supplements on a plant-based diet, or if we can stick to ALA sources such as flax seeds, and (2) how to get the right amount of iodine from algae? I personally get iodine from Dulse, but I'm always worried about using too much/too little seaweed, I'm not sure if I should get it every day, etc. Just a few ideas. Thank you for everything you do!
we touched on 1) in the miley cyrus/rogan video linked at the end of this one; usually a very small amount of dulse covers it (a quarter of a tsp or so), we'll look into salt and iodine in more detail soon :)
@@NutritionMadeSimple Thank you Doc! As for EPA/DHA, I was personally interested in better understanding pros and cons of getting EPA/DHA supplements as opposed to only relying on ALA sources. From my (little) understanding, there are some concerns about the long-term use of EPA/DHA supplements, and some doctors do not recommend them. I am a little confused about the evidence in this area, and so I wonder what's the recommended way to ensure a reliable source of omega3 on a plant-based diet, and if ALA sources are sufficient.

Excellent review although I wish the documentary talked more about the suffering of the actual fish when they are brought up to the surface (which is extremely painful for them due to the change in pressure), or the fact that they mostly slowly suffocate to death or that often the fish get crushed to death in the nets due to all the other fish being crammed in with them. I can't imagine what it would be like for a fish to go through that. Same with how the fish on farms are suffering as well.

10:14 The Question Dr. Greger was asked was a bit weird though: „What am I going to miss out on if I stopped eating seafood?“ It’s a bit weird because Dr. Greger can’t know what other things Ali eats. If the only thing Ali eats is fish and seafood, if he stopped eating it, he’s gonna miss out on essential amino acids, Essential fatty acids, and some minerals. If Ali is eating a balanced diet with minerals, essential amino acids, and he gets his essential fatty acids from seaweed/algae or another source he is only going to miss out on the pollutants. If the only thing he’s eating is fish he is going to miss out on the amino acids, fatty acids, and minerals in fish. Having written that, Dr. Greger DOES oversimplify, but to be fair the question was a bit hard to answer, and it seems as Dr. Greger takes advantage of that, to emphasize the bad things about fish, rather than the good things.
Absolutely - and one thing he overlooks is the cost of fish oil/fish vs algae supplementation. Most people cannot afford to source 2g+ / day of epa/dha from algae supplements, and this dosage has been absolutely shown in numerous RCT studies and backed up by meta-analysis, to have significant impacts on risk factors to all-cause mortality. See doi.org/10.1038/s41467-021-22370-2 . I estimated that to reach these levels from algae supplements, an average American would need to spend close to $3000 a year just on supplementation, which is more than some people spend on their entire grocery bill. It's roughly 30% of that to achieve the same dosage (or similar) from fish oil (generally speaking).
@@JoshuaBurtthelegendarysaiyan wow, that’s actually very surprising since the omega-3‘s originally come from algae, and it should be cheaper to extract it from them, rather than extract it from a fish‘s liver (or wherever from). Thanks for the share!

It doesnt matter if the numbers are a bit or a lot off, fact is, we are fishing in a industrial way and there is nooo way our fish is gonna survive for long :/ :(
Fisheries biologist / manager here. I manage small artisan fisheries, mostly invertebrate bivalve species. I agree with most of the content of this movie albeit it is dramatized for viewers. The global fishing industry is killing our oceans along with other threats such as climate change and ocean acidification. The only way to reduce overfishing and outrageous bycatches is by keeping fish off your plate. Unless you can access fish from very small, tightly managed tribal fisheries, don't buy them, don't eat them.
Why 'debunk' something like this documentary and make it seem total bullshit when it tries to raise long overdue awareness for the multiple problems we humans are causing in our oceans...and not just there!? Dude, you're doing more harm than good with this post. We and our oceans desperately need a change in our consumption and behavior, towards our planet's environment and resources. That's a fact and this change of paradigm needs to happen fast! So you better shut your mouth or support any activity or contribution that works in the direction of a more sustainable economy if our children and grandchildren are also supposed to enjoy the privilege of having fish and sea food in their diet.

A little update for you. You might want to modify you comment on shark fin. I live in Hong Kong and has lived in Shanghai recently; almost no one eat shark fin anymore, ie my impression is pretty much most the restaurants in Hong Kong don’t have that no the menu anymore, and those that still have it I don’t see it serve anymore (partly because it’s hard to get because the airlines don’t carry them, and partly because (as a Chinese) no one (not the young and not even the old, and not even the chefs) miss shark fin, at least in Hong Kong and Shanghai
Not sure what the point is making fun of a documentary that clearly educates people on the subject. You also left out the connection to the organizations that talk a good game about plastic being the primary cause, yet are connected to the fishing industry and thus don’t condemn overfishing let alone even bring the subject up. That was a key focus. As a scientist, I think you could do better and just stick with the facts and leave out the editorial or the stand-up, (e.g., looking like Santa Claus or criticizing the title). An article I read hypothesized it was to go along with a series of pro-vegan documentaries by the same guy, the other one being “cowspiracy.” By putting the word “sea” at the beginning, it aligns closer to the theme in terms of the readability of the title.
Because it's not really a conspiracy.
I’ll tell ya.
It’s the piracy of the sea :)
So it’s meant to mean “conspiracy” (seaspiracy) and “the piracy of the sea” (seas’ piracy).
That’s how I see it at least
Because it's a play on words with the previous documentary Cowspiracy.
Is this your main concern?
The best thing I learned from this doco was algae for omega 3! I feel like it's a great solution and I've advised everyone who takes omega 3 to get an algae based one! Very very happy they included it in the doco
@Clarissa 1986 heya.
So algae is safe
The blood thinning is a non issue unless you about to have surgery. So you just stop taking any omega 3 supplements for two weeks. But even then it's not an issue if you have emergency surgery. That's what blood banks are for.
5 years is a long time. It's a very safe supplement.
One of the key aspects of this documentary is that it points out that the industry set up to check and regulate the fishing industry (which is where the scientific community will get it's stats on this issue from) is completely compromised as far as it's ability to accurately keep track of the true amount of trash filling up the oceans.
literally
yes, this video misses the point

Just because you don't cut shark fins off doesn't mean it doesn't happen and doesn't disprove anything, it 100% still happens to this day

The Question Dr. Greger was asked was a bit weird though: „What am I going to miss out on if I stopped eating seafood?“
It’s a bit weird because Dr.
Fish get their omega 3 fatty acids from algae
He's gonna miss out on mercury you mean ? Those fatty acides come from algae and we absolutely dont need whales and dolphins etc
@@SuperYinox I know, I watched the video, and wrote my own comment..
Great video as always Doc. 🔥
Please make a full video wearing that Sombrero in the background or atleast for a few seconds. :) 😀
On it!
Definitely think he's wearing it 50% of the time 😂
Tax the rich who profited from the plastics.
Your channel is solid gold. Thanks for your honest and objective look at these subjects!!
I was a seafood fever and now i’m quitting eating fish. 97% of bluefins gone? That fact shows everything.
There are fish that aren’t bluefins you know
Wow the arrogance and the attitude. I had to stop watching after all the titles "comedy". There is something called continuity that helps people link topics. I'm just disgusted from the disrespect.
It doesnt matter if the numbers are a bit or a lot off, fact is, we are fishing in a industrial way and there is nooo way our fish is gonna survive for long :/ :(
One of the main points should be - the mass scale suffering of other specifies that humans are directly responsible for.
Bringing up Okinawans is a little silly. It has little to do with fish in their diet and more to do with eating less processed foods.
The documentary meaning is not anti fishing but anti trawling and commercial plastic nets.It is better to eat local fresh food. For people living on coastal areas it is better to rely on fish bug not for those who are living inlanders
The show is built up on scientific facts, it’s not a conspiracy so that makes no sense? If the title was conspirasea people would watch the show with a closed mind and not take what is happening seriously.
Thanks for this!! I watched it and just the bycatch and overfishing issues have me avoiding seafood but I did wonder how the science checked out.
Same.
If you want a reality TV show about Seashepherd, then you need to watch "Whale Wars", which originally aired on Animal Planet in 2008 if not mistaken.
Thank you
What they missed it out is China is one of the biggest consumers of fish and they will not comply.
Not only that, they buy our fish and turn it into different product and turn it into profit by selling it back to US and we buy them!
@Morgan Hope it isn’t just sams club, it’s everywhere! Costco, safeway, etc ...
@Morgan Hope i work in seafood industry for many years and the Chinese buys from good product fish to all the way to carcasses , they process it and turn it into something even more expensive and sell it back to US stores. And the US keeps buying them...it’s really fked system
I agree the information is not 100 % accurate but I respect the fact he is doing something positive for the planet. Because of that 👍👍👍👍👍.
Man, I love the alternative movie name suggestions. So funny! 😂
FYI the host of seaspiracy is an Australian, not English or ‘British’. I would have thought Americans would know the difference by now!
all the info online says British (born in Kent, Southern England), but feel free to post evidence to the contrary :)

@@NutritionMadeSimple yes you’re correct. My apologies, though his wife is Australian, he lives in Australia and has lost his British accent. He sounds Aussie, not British.
@@adamhofman4933 no worries we weren't completely sure either bc the accent was mixed so we had to check :)

We are living in an ear where even tobacco-industry can show us that actually smoking is healthy...when dairy farm...Etc are the main sponsors of a documentary x then how you want them to tell you that milk is bad?
About Seaspiricy it’s in my opinion well documented and worth watching it and reflect on our "life style" in general.as a vegan I’m not on the extreme but I do my best to harm less and be harmed less as well.
100% my favourite health/nutrition channel on UA-cam. I've been subbed to a bunch of different channels in the past at different ends of the aisle and the genuinely unbiased takes you have always drive it home. Can't wait to see the channel reach the next milestone so that more people can benefit. Thanks Gil!
As always very pragmatic with a good sense of humor :)
A 0.025% decrease is not worth having straws go mushy
We are all complicit in this "problem". The only option is to stop eating fish. If we don't we all die.

Just found out your channel. Great content and humour. subscribed!
Really?
Alternative titles are definitely something they should consider Lol. Loved the video. Checking the facts! :-)
Hello how are Neil
They also gave the information about omega3. Omega 3 originates from algae.
