For anyone wondering how much stuff I actually got rid of (sorry I cut a lot out because I waffle so much 🤣) it was not even one bags worth. Most of it didn’t fit and a few items I just didn’t love any more. I’m actually really proud of myself because I can see how my buying habits are getting better and how I’m choosing more things I love and will keep rather than just ‘quick fix’ things. I’m still no angel and of course I have a lot of stuff, it’s in the nature of the job, but I’m really happy with my progress 😬
Emma Hill I was going to comment that Emma - I'm pleased to see someone who actually keeps and reuses things for more than one season . It is a lot of stuff though - I couldn't handle so many options, but neither is my job in fashion !
Hey Emma! I really do a similar thing with my own wardrobe! Many of my items I put in storage and reuse year after year... not getting rid of a whole lot....
I find I enjoy my clothes so much more when they’re organised. When it’s chaotic, I end up wearing the same five things over and over because I can’t be bothered looking for anything. And my wardrobe isn’t even that big!
These are JUST the most satisfying videos on UA-cam Emma! Would happily watch every season. I honestly gasped when I saw the new shoe wall! We have so many pieces in common so I dream of having the cupboard space to spread everything out like this 🙌 This was so well put together, thank you (and Simon!) for all of your work x
That bottom rail is the real MVP of this wardrobe. :D I have a real bad habit of holding on to clothes that are not perfect for me in terms of style, colour or fit but that serve their purpose until I find something better. It's kind of ridiculous because I know they don't suit me and I don't feel happy wearing them. So couple of weeks ago I was feeling brutal and honest and got rid of all of those kind of clothes and I really should have done it sooner! I have fewer options to choose from but every piece of clothing suits me and looks good on me. Now I have to commit to not buying "back-up" clothing or clothes that are "all right for now".
Haha, me too. I just read Marie Kondo, her view is not to feel bad about getting rid of clothes that don't fit/suit you,. Just acknowledge that their "role" in your life was not to be worn often but instead to teach you, such as "that style/colour doesn't suit me / I can't wear that sort of thing anymore, so thank them for teaching you(!) and get rid of them. Must admit it made me feel much better about clearing out some of my more expensive mistakes!
I have a tip for anyone that loves Emma's zebra midi skirt from Mango. Polish brand Reserved (which has a store on Oxford Street, I believe) has the exact same skirt, but cheaper. And I mean the same material, the same design, everything. I tried on both skirts and went with the Reserved one, just beause it's cheaper:)
I loved it! The clear and concise Way you explain things helps me feel less anxious and more excited about re-organizing my wardrobe (and hopefully getting rid of things)
@@rashidaquetel563 It's totally up to the individual. Some like to have them folded, some do the Marie Kind fold, but I personally like them hung like this as I can see the brand label so I can distinguish which pair is which and it just makes putting outfits together so much easier and quicker 👍🏼
Wow how satisfying and inspiring!! I could watch an hour long video, I found it too short 😂 I have a similar style with you and you always help me out choose the right pieces with my small budget! I also find it so nice that your buying options have changed and you buy more conscious ❤️
x) the sock slide is precious! Congrats on finishing early. Looks beautiful and so well organized! Ok, I'm going to relax now and get myself a second leather bag without feeling guilty. For weeks, I've heard a voice in my head, saying, "Why do I need a second bag when I already have a perfectly good one that I've used for years?" x)) Thank you for the guilt-release therapeutic video :)))
I pretty much want your entire wardrobe, but I especially love your jeans and *bags* 😍 and I'm happy to see that my clothing rail isn't the only one with a slight curve to it lol
YOU NEED THE EVERLANE DAY MARKET TOTE 😍! I just bought it from the states without ever trying it on and it is BEAUTIFUL. It’s smooth leather which is already getting flimsy and I love it, reminded me of something you’d wear 🙊😩💕
Wow! I love how you transitioned from winter to spring with your wardrobe! So organized and the best method I've seen! Now I know what will help me! Impressive! Time to store things away! I love your videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your day with us! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
sniccoll Mine, too!! I've had a clear out for donation to charity, but my three cupboards are still a mishmash of different items. I need to sort my clothes by categories, but I never get round to it.
Emma Hill I bet you'd get requests from half the women in the country! I'd love to be one those minimalists, but I like to have choices and can't bear to throw out stuff I like!
just subscribed, because a) my daughters name is Emma b) you really deserve more subscribers c) your personality, your style, your contents are some of the best on youtube. thank you Emma
Love these wardrobe switch-out videos! Would love to see more about what you got rid of and what you were most excited to see from your S/S storage bins.
Thanks for a very inspiring video! I also do swich over and it was very interesting to see how you manage it. I´m looking forward to your new switch when it´s time for the autum/winter wordrobe. /Marie from Sweden
Nice work! Looks very organized. I find it easier to take everything out, too. It forces you to really make that decision to keep or let it go.Plus, if you don't clear off the bed you can't go to sleep. That helps with motivation! LOL
Aaaaagh! I loooved this! Thank you for doing this video! I already did my spring/summer swap out but now I’m motivated to organize it to display nicely! Thanks again for such a satisfying and motivating video! 😘
Only having seasonal clothes in your wardrobe has been such a game changer for me. Both you and The Anna Edit have filmed videos about it, and it has really caused me to make much less and better buying decisions as a result. Now that I don't have non-seasonal items in my wardrobe at a given time, I can actually see what I own for the season without the visual clutter of the other season's clothes, so I don't end up buying duplicates. Thanks for a great tip!
I would love to see a separate video of you going through the stuff that you decided not to keep and the reasonings behind those decisions. Can't wait to see your Spring/Summer style this year!
Thanks for the reply @@EmmaHill! Another idea for a video I think may be fun is organizing & shooting pieces for your Depop. Of course when you have more pieces that you are getting rid of. Love your videos so much :) xoxo
Sigh 😔. I’m watching this from Boston during a snow storm. We won’t be able to start the transition until late May. I’m tired of wearing my “ big” coat.
Gotta be savvy with the storage solutions haha Ideally I'd prefer to have my shoes hidden away but I needed the storage. We used to have 2 of those lift up ottoman beds but both broke which is a shame because they were great for shoe storage x
Excellent action trigger, Emma. I’ve been postponing doing this for myself, but you seem so joyful reorganizing your wardrobe that I’m actually going to do this right now! Thanks!
I could watch these all day 🙈. We’re about to look at new wardrobes so this is perfect inspiration - I just need to convince my hubby I need doors rather than sliding doors 🤞 x
Ahhh yes I had sliding doors at my mum and dads house and they were a nightmare. For a space saving solution they're great but if you can, I'd go for proper doors 🙌🏼
I really need to organize my wardrobe as well!! Still got a lot of stuff from years ago that I don’t wear anymore but couldn’t get rid of!! It’s so hard for me to bring myself to get rid of them! Do you have any tips on how to make giving up things easier?
You just have to be ruthless. They're just clothes at the end of the day so you have to remove any kind of attachment to them. I also think if I have something sitting in my wardrobe that's not getting worn it's such a waste, someone else would benefit from owning it instead so it's time to let it go so it can make someone else happy 😊
Emma Hill Aye that’s true!! It’s good to think that something that I don’t wear may bring others joy! Also my mum and I are such bad influences on each other cuz none of us can get rid of anything! I think we probably should de-clutter together to keep our wardrobe from exploding!!
Since I did that to my closet and to the closet of my two kids yesterday and was really exhausted at the end because it included the deep-cleaning of my daughters room who is really !!! messy it was a delight watching someone else doing it in such an orderly way Lovely Video as always
I love the video, you just inspired me to switch my w/a to s/s as well. Btw I love the bag from Mango, still pissed on myself I missed it when it was on stock. Anyway, your new midi skirts collection is asking for one specific video, how to style them (boots, bags, tees, blazers). Please? :)
Loved watching this on a Sunday morning, as I’m about to reorganize my dressing for spring today 😬 Thank you Emma for your very informative content, always. Lots of love 🥰
😮👏👏👏👏I always adore your style, not only in the outfit, almost everything, organized, stylishness , even your doggies 🐶 completely everything are beautiful on you. 😊💕
Someday I hope to have even half the amount of clothing you have. I would love to see a comprehensive jean video of your favorite brands, what you look for, etc. I tend to just get skinny jegging type jeans because I don’t really know where to buy trendy jeans like you wear.
I did a denim video only last week 👍🏼 I wouldn't wish for this amount of stuff, honestly you don't need it. I have so much because I get sent a lot of stuff as part of the job but I've started to be very careful with what I buy. Only buying things which I really love and will wear time and time again ❤️
Emma Hill Emma i bought the Arket jeans and they are fab! Next month I’m going to buy another pair! What I found very cool is that within 30 days you can return the jeans if you wore them and you are not satisfied!
Yes their denim satisfaction guarantee 🙌🏼 I didn't actually know about that until earlier on this week when one of my followers told me on Instagram. It's great!
Hi Emma, I've have never done the wardrobe changeover season thing!!! I just never felt the need for it, I do do the clear out two or three times a year and love the feeling when my wardrobe is all neat and tidy again , maybe this year I'll try and put my "winter stuff" away, I just hope still have clothes to wear hahaha!!
oooh excited for all your new summer bits! i get so much inspo from you! will you be having a getaway with your mum this year? i loved and laughed my way through your venice trip! x
I never thought of putting hooks on my wardrobe doors but I may hang my jewellery the way that you do yours (I just always worried that it would get caught on my clothes..) but if it’s working for you I may give it a try! 🤗 Thanks for sharing 🥰
I suppose it depends on the measurements of your wardrobe. I have about a 4-5 " gap between the doors and the clothes because these were custom made (before we moved in to the house) so for me it works. It might not work with a store bought/free standing wardrobe though. Worth looking into though as it's a great space saver and allows you to see all your necklaces when you're getting dressed 👍🏼
Emma Hill yes and I realised too that your bags are next to wear the jewellery hangs when closed! Thank you so much for replying back 🤗💕 I’ll check my measurements then before I go adding in any hooks 🙈 xx
Loved the video Emma.......that’s my next day off planned for me ....wardrobe clear out and re-organise..🤗......when you put things away for the season do you often forget what you have? ... but then again it’s nice to open up those stored items and see favourites.....just like Christmas or an ‘un boxing’ 🤗😃
Regarding your wardrobe, have you thought of replacing the fixed rail with a moveable one? Or just unscrewing the one that’s in the way and then screwing it back when you need it? I did that in my wardrobe and it was very liberating! Love your videos by the way 👍🏾
I Am Ella Bella I always need it 🙊 we had 2 rails in the coat wardrobe like the main part of the one the bedroom but we unscrewed the bottom one so we could have coats, dresses & suits in there. We now leave it unscrewed all year round 👍🏼
Hey Emma, thanks for motivating me tomorrow morning I’m going to organize my wardrobe and recycle my stuff . Thanks ur very well organized well done try to put lot video on this love ❤️ 🙏😍👏
Usually when I watch season wardrobe change videos it’s from people who do capsule wardrobes so you can imagine my shock when I started watching this video lol
HELP!!! I am drowning in clutter and just cannot discard things! I just found you and really admire your lovely clean uncluttered look. I am new but have suscribed hoping that I can be inspired!
I love organization videos! I have few space and I need to only keep items that I will use in reality. I like to see your way to do it. And it is very funny to listen "espardilles" with your pronunciation. It is a very funny french word, that in Spain we call them "alpargatas" (in spanish) and "espardenyes" in catalan (like the famous Castañer, made here in Girona :-) ). As you can see very similar french-catalan word.
I Love this type of videos! :) It would be interesting if you or Simon did a wardrobe switch in Simon's Wardrobe! Or just showing his clothes and how he organizes them.
Thank you for sharing your wardrobe switch Emma! I live in NYC with a tiny closet so a seasonal switch is an absolute necessity for me as well. Do you think the process has gotten easier for you because you do edit your wardrobe often? I also love your jean collection! I am really grasping the idea of “uniform” dressing and wearing only what I like and feel the most comfortable in. Even if that means owning tons of denim!
Lovely as per usual Emma! I love organizing my closet and because I live in Canada with four very different seasons it’s necessary. Although lately we go from bloody freezing to balmy What the hell happened to my hair humidity! Love organizing because there always some pieces that you forgot you had 😳.
How many times do you usually wear your clothes? I always find myself struggling with „the chair“ where I pile clothes not dirty enough for laundry (also I don‘t want to wash 10 times a week..) but I get tired of them and then I want to use fresh clothes and outfits..
Shannas M oh how many times do I wear them before washing or just in general? Not that we have room for a chair in our bedroom but this is a reason why we don’t have one, to avoid ‘the pile’ 🤣
So satisfying to watch and looks amazing. Definitely inspires me to do the same, it doesn’t seem that long ago that you did the Autumn/winter one 😳😱 I saw one thing missing though, your usual can of DC to fuel you through all the effort 😉 x
Omg I so loved that ❤️ I have been decluttering for over a year (on my other UA-cam channel) and right in the middle of the declutter I have now moved (with all my stuff) and so can’t wait to unpack and do a whole new wardrobe after that. Can I ask, your short coats, jackets after a half year pack, I assume the steamer does the job to make them nice or do you have to get them all dry cleaned? Xx
I don’t ever go to the dry cleaners, I prefer doing everything myself, saves money 👍🏼. I have a travel steamer and a normal one so when something comes out of storage and I want to wear it then I’ll give it a steam 👍🏼
The sock slide 😎😄🙌! I recently had a discussion with a friend about ironing and we came to the conclusion that there's two types of people: those who iron everything straight out of the wash, and those who only iron right before wearing the clothes 🤣😝. I'm deffo the latter, glad to see you are too 🙌🙌🙌! 💋😘
Do you give a wash before you put your off-season cloths into tubs?? I always afraid to put unwashed item into a box. And also do u do something about humidity in wordrobe??
All clothes that go into the tub will be clean. If something is dirty then it would go straight in the washing basket to be washed. But I wouldn't deliberately wash everything before putting them in the tubs. We don't really have high humidity in this country so that's not something I have to worry about x
@@EmmaHill Even though you don't have high humidity, I live in a part of Norway where there's a lot of rain, and a pro tip is to not put clothes away in tubs when it's raining! Just as a little tip if you ever need it, for example for your fall/winter switch over haha
Thanks for your replay^_^ I used to live in Dublin and humidity in bed room/ wardrobe was always bothering me... and I don't know if I should give a wash to wool knit wears which look clean but I worn few times before put into box away(@@;) Anyways, your video helps alot.
Hi Emma, did you keep the lovely check Arket blazer that you recently had in your try on? I could not spot it and just wondered if it had made it into "for keeps" !
I actually decided not to keep it, I looked at what I already had and even though I did like it I have some which are similar so didn't feel it was necessary to keep it x
I'm of jealous of your storage on the inside of your wardrobe doors - mine are made of glass so no hooks for me. Also, how do you store your long coats, Emma? Do you fold them to fit into the tubs?
For anyone wondering how much stuff I actually got rid of (sorry I cut a lot out because I waffle so much 🤣) it was not even one bags worth. celeste centelli they’re both Mango from last Summer 👍🏼 they have an outlet site so might be worth looking on there to see if they have them x
Sue Hadley haha yeh it’s soooo much stuff but I love it, for me it’s like playing dress up (or dress down in my case 🙊) all the time 😬

Mary Norton haha omg same here
You are right! I need to organize my closets so I can see everything I have !!!😐😐😐
Same - I like it colour coded too, otherwise too overwhelming!
this is the nicest color coordination i have seen can't wait to clear out some things in my closet

Yes, I feel the inspiration growing in me ! Thank you so much Emma !
Motivated 🤗
Loved the video Emma.......that’s my next day off planned for me ....wardrobe clear out and re-organise..🤗......when you put things away for the season do you often forget what you have? ... but then again it’s nice to open up those stored items and see favourites.....just like Christmas or an ‘un boxing’ 🤗😃
haha yeh it's always a nice surprise x
Great job I’ve also organised my wardrobes I’m petite 5ft 1 so I can’t reach high with heavy storage tubs
But I have many shelves for stuff
“SPADOODLES” has to become a thing!!! Love it 😍
I’m soooo excited for this video (haven’t watched it yet!) been counting down the moments since u gave us a sneak peak on your insta ❤️
I saw some really cute sandals♡ (the red and black strap sandals on the floor!) Which brand are they from??
Fave summer shoe video maybe?♡
that would be these (affiliate link) bit.ly/2SIyoUp I have them in both colours x
My faaavourite videos! That denim rail makes me insanely happy haha. Can I ask where that camel coloured hoodie is from? It's the perfect shade x
It's from the mens department at Pull & Bear x
Good job Emma! Congratulations! Love the video!
I think i need to have my wardrobes built like this so simple yet beautiful
This was the push I needed to do my wardrobe now!
Usually when I watch season wardrobe change videos it’s from people who do capsule wardrobes so you can imagine my shock when I started watching this video lol
Great organization video as always. Would love to see an updated shoe collection video :)
HELP!!! I am drowning in clutter and just cannot discard things! I just found you and really admire your lovely clean uncluttered look. I am new but have suscribed hoping that I can be inspired!
I also just switched over my wardrobes. Feels so good to get organized for spring/summer. 🐝🐞🌻🌞
I am changing my wardrobe style at the moment and this video is quite helpfull
I Love this type of videos! :) It would be interesting if you or Simon did a wardrobe switch in Simon's Wardrobe! Or just showing his clothes and how he organizes them.
It's very sparse in there, he doesn't do a switch, he has very few clothes, so it wouldn't be a very long video 🙊
@@EmmaHill Oh, I understand! I only thought about it because I really enjoy his tshirts and shorts 😂. What about a video were he styles you? 😊
Jane B I definitely think it helps to keep on top of things 👍🏼
Lovely as per usual Emma! I love organizing my closet and because I live in Canada with four very different seasons it’s necessary. Although lately we go from bloody freezing to balmy What the hell happened to my hair humidity! Love organizing because there always some pieces that you forgot you had 😳.
Perfect Wardrobe organization, the spring/summer can start ! 👌👌
all we need now is the weather 🤣🤞🏼
Emma Hill yes ! I agree 😉
Before you wash them. I don't really have space too and it drives me insane because it looks just untidy😩
Laundry basket? I usually only wear tops once but I’ll fish bottoms out of the basket a couple of times
"back to the wardrobe arena" lol love you Emma. Just de-cluttered mine as well and feeling so good!
I love it you made it see always so easy and effortless and I love your Handbags too 🥰
Lived watching this video. Thanks Emma ❤️
So satisfying to watch and looks amazing. Definitely inspires me to do the same, it doesn’t seem that long ago that you did the Autumn/winter one 😳😱 I saw one thing missing though, your usual can of DC to fuel you through all the effort 😉 x
yeh trying to cut back 😩
Emma Hill good for you! 👏🏻
Emma Hill thank you and I may invest in a steamer now xx
The sock slide 😎😄🙌! I recently had a discussion with a friend about ironing and we came to the conclusion that there's two types of people: those who iron everything straight out of the wash, and those who only iron right before wearing the clothes 🤣😝. I'm deffo the latter, glad to see you are too 🙌🙌🙌! 💋😘
Oh yes, I cannot be arsed ironing something that I might not wear for weeks 🙊
Me too! 😅🤗
Almost 200k !! 🙌
WENDY16 🙊
Love your videos Emma, especially these particular video as they inspire me to clean up mine! 😬 So thank you 🙏 💁🏽♀️😍
You must have million subs already. God bless you.
Love your hair 😻
i can't wait to change my clothes over , already had a clear out so i can't wait to add some new t shirts & nice tops . jeans last forever x
Fantastic. Love your system !
Omg I was thinking the same thing you managed to finish rather quickly good job
Hi Emma, did you get your Levi's shorts from the Levi's store or somewhere else? Xx
No they're all vintage so I buy them from vintage shops and eBay 👍🏼
I'm of jealous of your storage on the inside of your wardrobe doors - mine are made of glass so no hooks for me. Also, how do you store your long coats, Emma? Do you fold them to fit into the tubs?
yep just fold them up and pop them in 👍🏼
This was an amazing video to watch! Loved seeing your process. I do something very similar! Your wardrobe is honestly goals!
Where Doyle get your velvet covered hangers from ? My jeans slip off all the time !
I bought mine off eBay x
