@@andyozFace If you alt+f4 then yes, as it counts as a crash. If you leave game normally you cant rejoin. So be carefull that if you rage quit a match dont alt+f4 as the server will reserve the slot for you so no one else can fill it.

What gets me is that the trapper's wearing like 800 pairs of handcuffs, so clearly at some point there was thought put into all those shackles and chains rattling around and making tons of noise. But then after the model was designed they decided to change their mind on their ambient sounds.
on auric every trapper comes equipped with their own bomber and flamer gang that conveniently spawn the moment u get netted. i wonder with the recent flame dmg changes if toughness can survive the short time it takes to un-net a teammate while they burn alive
It doesn't. I have been burned too many times when well-intentioned players took the net off. You can still try to save the netted guy, but don't do what Tanner is suggesting and be single-minded in the effort. Use your head and read the situation because there will be times when you can't reach your netted teammate.
Another thing that I see a lot of: NEVER DODGE BACKWARDS. so many times I see people dodge backwards because they think they'll be out of range. The net travels much further than the range that they fire from.

i know it will never happen but it would be nice to be able to break free on your own from a net. make it take longer or whatever but by god is it frustrating to have a run ended because nobody could be bothered to spend that half second to press a button.
The problem is, unless people do exactly what tanner says at the start of the video, you won't have enough time to un-net yourself anyway. If you get netted in auric chances are there's probably a horde next to you too and they will fucking melt you in 5 to 10 seconds if no one frees you during that time and you'll get downed anyway.

I remember being able to consistently dodge Vermintide's leech sorcerers based of audio alone on decent ping. But Darktide is so much louder and dense the game simply doesn't allow for that.
Well I can tell you don't know how leeches work. J_sat made a video and it was surprising. Basically if a leach is outside of roughly the aura radius of say Handmaidens stamina aura, you can dodge immediately after a leech spawns, you don't need to wait, hear it teleport? Just dodge instantly. If it spawns inside the aura radius, you must move a certain angle away from where you were relatively it the leech after it has spawned, which is easier the closer you are too it, so basically move sideways, but you must also dodge too.
While I agree with you on the principle of the first comment. Every once and a while you can run into a glitch where a trapper will immediately trap again if they have a free slot. Plus if you are using the one shot weapons it takes all but a second to kill then pick up before the teammate hits the ground
Trappers are my kryptoninte in this game and I thought I was just not good enough, it kept breaking my confidence that i could ever be great at DT even though I'm pretty great now at dealing with Mutants, Bursters and Hounds. But it's that the trappers can be silent and hidden and still net you and also that in melee you tend to get body blocked from dodging the net. I thought I just timed the doge wrong and kept being netted no matter how much I practiced melee and dodging. Thank you for explaining this, I'll break contact then to be able to dodge the net, I get it now. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. :)
Yeah it sometimes feels like they designed the trapper as "Some people will get netted and you'll need to save them" so they don't give a f*ck about providing proper tools to avoid that BS.
Ok i didnt play vermentide that much but im pretty sure they had a ranged disabler as well(that one fat soulsucker dude) did it not have body blocking your dodges in that game? Or is something else diffrent with it?
There is also one piece of bullshit you forgot to mention. Trappers can pull you through bosses and Bulwark/Crusher walls making impossible to save the poor bastard they got while also preventing you from shooting them.
General advice: Sound queue from the trapper shot happen before the fire. So don’t dodge too soon. Best advice : If you hear the trapper just dodge even if you haven’t seen it. Assume it’s targeting you. Often it is and you avoid it. Things not to do . Don’t slide under them. Although you may think it looks cool it doesn’t work😂. Don’t ignore trapped team mates. The nets may as well auto catch on fire after 5 secs. You will get a bomber and flamer on them and then you can’t reach them.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has issues with the Audio ques of the fucking trapper. please do Poxbursters next. because i swear the game director hates when i play psyker so much it sends wave after wave of Poxbursters to blow my ass up. i could make a montage of all the times i go flying off the god damn map because one explodes near me.
I do think sounds are somewhat bugged atm. For me, the moment a hound spawns or I let off smite/surge, that soumd goes digital, and all specials sounds stop. I still can't work out whether that's an issue with the current patch or an issue with my drivers.
Love getting the corner of whatever size the hitbox of the net is. Its clearly not smooth, has rough corners. Smallest edge gets too close its a done run.
Honestly they should just port over the hook rats sounds and just port it onto this one. Overall I disagree with it being a badly designed enemy but think they’re much more unfinished and rushed out than anything. Their supposed beeping sound is a great example if this and fundamentally doesn’t fit the enemy meaning even if the sound was bumped up most players wouldn’t make the connection (meaning you’d properly need to do another vid on them lol).
Trappers sometimes wont even run like they are suppsed to ive had a few instances where they were just vibing among a crowd or was beating the junk off of a teammate and netted another guy trying to save him
I cant count how many times my parties have wiped becauss nobody would pick up the teammates before dealing with the horde. Or how many times people have died in general to trappers because their teammates are thinking "theyre still alive, theyre good, theyre not a high priority"
Dunno if its just me but sometimes enemys treat me as if ive gotten pounced or mutie charged and just dont attack me when im netted. Trappers really are super jank.

There is ONE situation where you don't save a teammate from getting netted, when they are 50 miles ahead of the rest of the team and through a horde of bulwarks. Also, the problems you have with nets in pubs, are the exact problems I have with dogs. 9 out of 10 games I play, a dog jumps on me, and my team just doesn't care.

Okay, this is completely bizarre. After watching your video, it made me wonder if this might be a case of Fatshark's terrible optimization. Because honest to God, all of the Trapper's sounds you highlighted work for me with far, far louder and clearer audio. This is why I've never struggled with trappers outside of odd lag issues (I live in Japan and get put in NA / EU server when there's no players in JP) or just the odd bad play on my part. The trapper's breathing is very loud, the distorted "sam fisher" noise always comes through and yeah. This is honestly so bizarre to see because when you said "Listen here", I genuinely couldn't hear a thing. Whereas on my end, it all plays absolutely perfectly, you can tell exactly where the trapper is coming from and oftentimes I'll dodge them entirely based on the sound, even if I'm in a situation where I wasn't able to look at them. This sounds like one of those FS moments where on some systems something is completely broken. Except in this case, it seems to be completely broken on most systems and work fine on just a few, cause from what I've seen, most people struggle with the trapper in high difficulty. Now I atleast have an idea as to why that is. Suppose I can try to be more aware in their stead and be ontop of unnetting people, if this is such a universal problem. So good stuff, appreciate the information.
She's always laughing and breathing heavily when they're running too. Think his example of listening to a idle trapper was just not a good example. The mutant is silent when it's not moving.
@@warhero40000sometimes you don't hear them in combat. Hell I had times there wasn't even a spawning sound. Just randomly a net coming out of nowhere. Every time I get netted it's a trapper that made no sound of being there. Sometimes its just borked.
The trapper had to come eventually with this series and you addressed all of my issues with her. It is shocking how people STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW FAST YOU UNNET PLAYERS. To the point where you should run even into melee enemies to get your dude out because if you can react fast enough you get them out before anything happens. Do it 2 seconds later because you wanted to uhhh tap the rager on his shoulder and your ally is probably gone. It makes me twitch when you carry a game for 30 minutes straight 1 little mistake or shitty map design and you eat a net. Then people wont take 30 hp to unnet you, they try to kill shit around me 1 bomb and I'm gone, party wipes. The only time I kill trappers is if I have to run over from far away to get people up. Say I don't know 10/15+ meters? you should probably tap her out because she is most likely camping the body and if you run up to her she will probably be ready to shoot the next net THAT IS PROVIDED THE PERSON EVEN LIVED THAT LONG. Dogs will bark continously and have a very audible growl when they are about to pounce (9/10 times at least) and with experience you can have a twitch reaction to change melee and push when you hear it growl because it literally lunges itself at you, but trapper? f😃ck you, are you a melee player fighting in a horde? oh no f😃cking sound eat that f😃cking net and go f😃ck yourself. THE HARDEST DISABLER IN THE GAME, not even bosses compare because even beast of nurgle will spew you out after some time plus he has very strict requirements to devour you AND TRAPPER HAS THE LEAST RELIABLE AUDIO IN THE GAME side note i can't believe how f😃cking long it took fatshark to reduce her f😃cking stagger resistance i loved getting trapped because i push her or rev through her skull but NUH UH eat that net, the worst designed special in the game period

Something is wrong with the audio in the game. Things like hounds and bursters not making noise around immediate corners. Also, I think this game has too small of a sound table? Like too many sounds going on audio queues stop playing.
Looks like fatshark is intentionally trolling the player base with this enemy if those sounds are intentional.Trappers are without a doubt the biggest run ender as they start the domino effect. Usually it's then combined with bombers and flamers or pulling you into a horde.
If only they fixes trappers being able to get you through hordes and big enemies, like hooks from vermintide. Also I have seen people get caught theough solid objects.. that is not how physics work but ai digress.

What I hate even more is the fact that you can't dodge them in melee range if you don't stagger them for some reason. It's just insta-net if they fail to stagger because the net's hitbox is wider than your dodges. Also their net hitbox is janky as fuck, it can clip you with 1px and net you. And the fact that they can 360-noscope you with net, but that issue also happens with other enemies.

Trappers with Nurgle's blessing are the worst. If they're close and you know you can't stagger them, better not miss that dodge or headshot.
So all we need is for them to rattle their handcuffs while walking and a 10% hitbox reduction.

It makes me twitch when you carry a game for 30 minutes straight 1 little mistake or shitty map design and you eat a net. Then people wont take 30 hp to unnet you, they try to kill shit around me 1 bomb and I'm gone, party wipes.
The only time I kill trappers is if I have to run over from far away to get people up. Say I don't know 10/15+ meters? you should probably tap her out because she is most likely camping the body and if you run up to her she will probably be ready to shoot the next net THAT IS PROVIDED THE PERSON EVEN LIVED THAT LONG.
Dogs will bark continously and have a very audible growl when they are about to pounce (9/10 times at least) and with experience you can have a twitch reaction to change melee and push when you hear it growl because it literally lunges itself at you, but trapper? f😃ck you, are you a melee player fighting in a horde? oh no f😃cking sound eat that f😃cking net and go f😃ck yourself. THE HARDEST DISABLER IN THE GAME, not even bosses compare because even beast of nurgle will spew you out after some time plus he has very strict requirements to devour you AND TRAPPER HAS THE LEAST RELIABLE AUDIO IN THE GAME

Worst part cant hear the trapper or the hook rats always get caught by them unless i see them. Ps i dont mind still enjoy the game .. havent won a 5 bar game yet but win a bunch of 4 bars. Pretty sure that the Trapper is the only disabler in any worthwhile horde shooter that doesn't free the player upon their death.
Something is wrong with the audio in the game. Things like hounds and bursters not making noise around immediate corners. Also, I think this game has too small of a sound table? Like too many sounds going on audio queues stop playing.

Looks like fatshark is intentionally trolling the player base with this enemy if those sounds are intentional.Trappers are without a doubt the biggest run ender as they start the domino effect. Usually it's then combined with bombers and flamers or pulling you into a horde.

I think the netter is compareable to VTs leech who was VERY audible, his weird monologue and zapping noises made it clear that he is around.
If only they fixes trappers being able to get you through hordes and big enemies, like hooks from vermintide. Also I have seen people get caught theough solid objects.. that is not how physics work but ai digress.

Just wondering how the fuck a net can teavel through 3 crushers and a 20 poxwalkers to hit a player thats another bullshit thing.
What I hate even more is the fact that you can't dodge them in melee range if you don't stagger them for some reason. It's just insta-net if they fail to stagger because the net's hitbox is wider than your dodges. Also their net hitbox is janky as fuck, it can clip you with 1px and net you. And the fact that they can 360-noscope you with net, but that issue also happens with other enemies.
