I showed my mom your family's videos a few months ago and now it's all she watches . She try's all the recipes and started a garden. She's not in the best of health and to see her do these things is really great . I'm very thankful for all the Really Great stuff you post ..
When it’s so hot and humid in the mountains, nothing better than cooling your feet in a small shaded creek and eating some watermelon. I remember as a young guy soaking a watermelon in the creek while we fished, then cutting that melon and enjoying sitting in that cool running water while we ate it. Summer days are made for fun. Be safe, stay hydrated and enjoy everyday. God bless. - Tennessee Smoky
@@thepressleygirls Katie, I am going to respectfully disagree with you about the dry vs moist heat. I'm born and raised in eastern North Carolina. I married a Marine and we got stationed in Ridgecrest, California. It's in the Mojave Desert and I about died, figuratively speaking, in that dry heat. It's so dry that it sucks the sweat right outta your pores and it doesn't have the chance to cool you down when the wind blows. When the wind blows out in the desert, it just feels hot, not refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I like a lower humidity day over 80-100% humidity any time, but the wind blowing on your skin when you're sweating feels better because it's cooling you down. I enjoyed this video and the scenery is amazingly beautiful. Corie, I would've screamed too when that snake caught its prey! I'm no fan of snakes at all. Y'all have such a great dad. I hope he has a wonderful Father's Day! My daddy will be turning 90 years old on the 27th of this month.
I just love how appreciative you are of the simple things around you. A lot of people would drive by the pond and not give it a thought but you take the time to really appreciate all the beauty around you.
Absolutely a lot of people don't even give it a second thought and take it for granted. My friend had to go to China for business. He was in Beijing and because of the air pollution, you could never see the blue sky. Found out its always like that. During winter everyone has to wear gas masks. No joke.
I could feel the heat through the video, ha! I know, this heat is crazy. Triple digits here in Texas as well. Beautiful scenery and that pond with that pretty tree was a small paradise. I agree, Katie: having a pond like that would be lovely. Haha! Corie screaming at the snake! That was amazing seeing him stand up, ready to strike. Thank you for taking us along. Glad your dad was able to pick you up for a much deserved rest. God bless ya’ll!
I usually take a ride to the mountains to escape the humidity. But it looks like I'll be staying home this weekend. Times are definitely changing, but we're all very blessed. Loved this video 🤗 It's so good to see y'all making a video together again. I loved how you both were watching for your Daddy to give his little Chitter and Chatter a ride home. Have a wonderful weekend, and have a very blessed Father's day celebrating with your families. 🙏💕🌻
Katie, you’ll be glad when you have your new tank and sending unit and be able to tell how much gas u have.Glad your back.We enjoy every video you all make! Bless you all!
A walk down a country road on hot summer day with a loved one. Blackberries on a fence row, turtle, snake, and fish in a pond. The only thing missing was a tobacco field. And the smell of cow pies and skunks. Memories!
It’s been in the mid to high 90’s all week and usually we get those temperatures in July and August here in middle Tennessee. It’s fun hearing y’all talk and tell your stories and the scenery is beautiful .
What a beautiful video, I felt like I was walking along with you girls, I love the heat myself and you live in gorgeous country, with the pond and the rolling fields..❤
I love the way you both cherish and respect wildlife. I dug a small 10 ft wide pond and added a pool liner to hold water and on the edge set flat rocks making it look natural in my 3 acres of Pennsylvania forest and it soon attracted local salamanders and frogs.
Looks like we're sharing our central Texas heat/humidity with the rest of America. It's extra hard on the Appalachian region because they aren't used to a heat index of 105+ like we are. You guys stay in the shade and drink lots of water! The creek rocks will still be there when it cools off, Katie. 😄
I'm from the Hill Country of Texas too and I feel for them that they are having our heat. I got in the truck yesterday and it said 112*. C'mon Winter!! I am so ready!! Try to stay cool girls!
So happy to see you both in the video. Missed these. Glad it was you two and not me out for a walk in that heat. Surprise berries are always an extra treat, aren't they! I thought maybe your dad would drive on down the road a little to tease- no ride for his crazy twins. I hate snakes...I would have been out of there not watching but it was interesting. Thanks for working up a sweat for us.
When your Dad was coming down the hill and you guys yelp with joy (let me tell you, in his heart, when he sees you walking, he feels like the night in shining armor, it brings him more joy to pick up his girls, then you getting a ride home - that sweet, precious moment, when hearts are fill with joy on both ends for different reasons, that is truly what life is all about..I love the way you love and respect your parents - good parenting, good adhering to parents - very unique family in this day and age..may God keep His blessings upon you all the days of your lives...each one of you are so special.
I was enjoying the walk in my cool, air conditioned home. It is brutally hot here in Texas also so I'm only out for a few minutes at a time when it's like this. So glad your dad came by on the last leg of the walk. That pond is beautiful. I remember the music videos from there. Stay safe & hydrated in the heat. Hugs!
The humidity in the mountains or rural areas with lots of trees makes it seem so much hotter. My Dad would have asked what i was doing and if he did not need me to help with anything...make me walk on home.
This view is absolutely beautiful, thanks for doing this walk and sharing. Makes me Homesick for the mountains been a while since 😪.. I've been. Great idea Katie!
"hotter than the hinges of hell" is what we say here in TN! Careful ladies. It was good to see you together! Having you Dad always to depend is wonderful! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next video!
Katie, Canton! Just there last night! And the Ingles, in Jasper no doubt. My wife and I just moved permanently to Marble Hill last week and just love it! This is truly God's country up here. May God bless you and your family.
Sure looks like a beautiful place to live. Wife and I have been going to MaggiesValley all our lives about it around canton and Bryson city and Cherokee we love it up in the mountains. That’s some beautiful land where y’all are walking and all that.
The jet stream did a weird loop & NJ was in the 60's today (July 18). I am FREEZING in shorts & a tshirt. But the heat & humidity returns later the next week.
Thank you for taking the walk for me. Memories! I can no longer do those walks, to old. Question, are you sure y'all are not in W.Va. The scenery looks like it.(I know it's not) So pretty. Thank you! Our temps about the same. The fishing sounds like a good idea. Here, all I ever heard the orange flower called are 'Day Lilies'. The bloom usually last 1 day, others bloom take over so you don't really notice that. I had oddles of them till I had to start paying someone to mow, there for no flowers at all now. Love your mama's flowers. Love you girls! Stay Sweet. Blessings!
Those were actually wild Orange Daylilies, although some people do call them Tiger Lilies, or Ditch Lilies, or Tawny Lilies. They're not really a member of the lily family, though. There are Tiger Lilies which are true lilies, but they have dark spots on the petals, and they're poisonous, while Orange Daylilies are not poisonous, and are, in fact, edible. Having said that, it was a lovely walk, and it was sweet of the two of you to take us along. The pond was beautiful, and that snake was very strange. And, there's nothing better than finding a bunch of wild blackberries, or any edible berries, for that matter!
Wow. Your area is so nice. I know it was really hot but thank you Ladies for taking us along. I often dream about living in a place like that. Hope it cools down a little for ya. Take care. 💎
Daddy to the rescue. I saw that look he gave yall when you looked in his window lol. Stay cool girls. Its dangerously hot a lot of places. And It's just June. I'm already waiting for fall 😊.
Your best videos are when you walk and tell about what you are seeing and share stories. Thank you for blessing us with this type of video. I could feel the heat as you described it and watching you.
I think this is probably my favoritest video y’all have made. It was funny and fun and there was the cutest snake!! That dude was trippy! Love you guys!!!
We lived in Raleigh for 5 yrs and vacationed in Asheville, NC. It does get hot and humid! I sent you both messages on FB! Love your Mom ( I’m learning how to cook from her…) and we LOVE your music!
Thanks for this video. It was relaxing to watch it. I did recognize the pond from your other video. I live in Columbia, SC and you do get used to the heat, but I am glad we all have air conditioning! Dennis Morgan
Looks like a brown water snake. I have a few in my pond. They try to blend in with stuff on and in the pond in order to let the fish and frogs come to them since that's what they feed on.
Those ones you called tiger Lilly we call ditch Lilly in TN. Those pretty orange flowers are milk weed, important to monarch butterfly. And the other, with the small pink flower and fern like leafs, is simple crown vetch.
Glad to see you both together again. Yes all of us has been dealing with this heatwave. We have been having heat advisories here in my area of Florida. Drink plenty of water while outside. Sorry to hear you had a breakdown with your truck. My motorcycle is down right now here. Got to rebuild the clutch. Looking forward to getting back to the mountains myself. That’s a fine mess of blackberries
I loved this, particularly your dad picking y'all up at the end. We never outgrow that... I often do the same (in hopes my husband will happen along to spare me the rest of the way). 💓 It's stinkin' hot here in TX, too!
What a cool video! It has been mighty hot this week, fortunately we're being blessed with a little cool down this weekend before the temps rise again next week.
I love these sightseeing videos y'all... I hope y'all never take for granted and overlook the fact, that y'all live in paradise... So beautiful up there... 😊👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤
Alabama is known for tornados also, in 1998 and 2011 they destroyed rural communities around Birmingham and killed and injured dozens of people. Mississippi is also part of the southern tornado alley. Be careful in this awful heat and humidity!
You two are a blessing to watch and listen to. I love your accent and that's coming from a Texan. I first saw you on video yesterday when you failed the Appalachian vocabulary test, since then I've watched many of your videos. You are part of a family that others wished they had. I love rocks too. Agates are so pretty and you are prettier. I found myself watching you guys shop in thrift stores and I loved it. So relaxing to watch yall. You're so funny and down to earth. Keep up the videos and don't change who you are.
I'm getting a break from the heat today. It's 68 degrees. It was 91 yesterday. I enjoyed your walk. It's a beautiful area where you live. It was fun seeing you two in a video again.
0:31... you girls are too cute !! Loved this video. So nice to take a walk with you both. Here in NYC, the humidity can get up there. So far, it hasn't been too bad, but I'm not looking forward to the dog days of summer.
Not a car in site lol That was a great walk. As a kid we always assumed an abandoned house was a haunted house. lol It’s humid and hot in Rockingham county too.
I just love you two! 💕 those orange flowers, I believe are butterfly weed, and the light pink ones are vetch. I haven’t rode in the back of a truck in years. So fun!
It's been in the 90's here in Indiana this week, with the heat index reaching triple digits. I generally prefer open windows to air conditioning, but I've made an exception the past few days. It's only 69 degrees as I type on this Saturday morning, though.
Hey y’all, I enjoyed tagging along with y’all on your walk & talk. That’s an Awesome pond to. Yep the heat is on down here in Darlington SC as well & the humidity has been dripping from the trees seems like. Yes Katie I think you do get acclimated to the normal heat in your area, but even for us down here it’s way HOTTER & More HUMID than normal! 105 some days last week. Mr. Matt showed up as most dads do right on time lol 😂👍🏻 Stay safe & hydrated GOD BLESS YALL 😇🙏🏻😇🙏🏻👍🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️
Oh my.......I was so nervous when yall were picking the blackberries on the side of the road that yall were going to run up on a snake!!! As someone who lives in Florida, I'm sorry yall are having a heat wave but you can survive!!! I love all the scenery!!!
Whew! Down here in the Sandhills we've had a few 100-103 days and routinely have 70% - 90% humidity (and daily rainstorms). The humidity is all summer, every summer. Good luck y'all! I hope you arent dealing with it all summer like we do.
It’s beautiful there. Here in California, we have dry heat. We have strange weather going on. Past few days have been mild and I’m not complaining. Lol next week we have 4 days of 100 plus days. But humid heat kicks ones butt!!!! Stay cool ladies and God bless.
When I used to hunt in south central Alabama, when we would have our summer work days at camp I used to think that was the hottest most humid place I'd ever been, and I live in Florida.
I've never seen a water snake catch a fish before! 😳 The purple flowers you were admiring @12:40 are Crown Vetch. Think carefully before you transplant it into your yard, it's incredibly invasive! It's nice if you have a steep bank that you want a groundcover for (as long as it's not near your flowerbeds or garden), and has a lightly sweet scent.
In the process of getting a new tank in my old truck too. A gas leak is nothing to mess with my sister's truck had a leak and ended up catching on FIRE when she was driving it! She was able to get out safely, but the truck... That was toast. The orange flowers are daylilies . They are edible. Pick the blossoms and dip in a fritter batter and fry. Yum!
Enjoyed your nature walk this morning. I was afraid the snake was going to be in the blackberry bushes. We are in triple digits in SW Arkansas right now with mega humidity. I walked this morning but only 30 minutes. Love you girls channel. And Tipper's.
I’m from SC and just got back from Pigeon Forge. I’ve have never felt it that way in NC and TN. Dang near took me down!! It’s unreal how Hot and Humid it is🔥 you girls be careful not to get overheated. Keep up with the hydration.
Well that’s my walk for the day😅, love when you two are together. I’ve told Corie now both…. Love to see some fishing videos 🎣 with who ever comes with🐠💛🐠 take good care🌻you live in a gorgeous area🌳
I THINK the flowers at 12:41 are crown vetch, but I'm not 100% sure. Really pretty! We had some serious thunderstorms here a couple of days ago. Sustained lightning and thunder for like 6 hours overnight, BIG BOOMERS, then it got pretty cold. We had gotten up around 80 degrees before that. Now we're back to like 60 degree high afternoon temp in NY. So weird to have 60 high in mid-June, even for NY. Just strange. There was an old field that had some wild blackberry bushes and we transplanted a few of them into our yard 3 or 4 years ago. We have an excellent yield that past 2 years. I just love them! I'd love any recipes ya'll do with the wild blackberries. I don't can, sadly. I don't have the jars or a big enough pot to boil the jars, but any other uses would be fun to watch. Oh, Katie, btw, I LOVE your necklace! Hugs!
I showed my mom your family's videos a few months ago and now it's all she watches . She try's all the recipes and started a garden. She's not in the best of health and to see her do these things is really great . I'm very thankful for all the Really Great stuff you post ..

The lilies are day lilies & grow wild all over the South. You girls are so lively & I love the way ya'll love the beauty of nature!
they're also edible!
I live in south Louisiana and the heat index is 108 and very humid. I feel for y’all walking in that heat!
That’s insane!

Thank you girls....I so enjoyed the walk.

What a beautiful video, I felt like I was walking along with you girls, I love the heat myself and you live in gorgeous country, with the pond and the rolling fields..❤

The first one is a ditch lily/day lily. Tiger lilies have spots on them. The one you talked about digging up is butterfly weed.
What a wonderful walk, with beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing! The pond was lovely but the snake...eeww. good there's Dad!

0:31... you girls are too cute !!
It's been in the upper 90s here in Michigan this past week Cooled down a lot today. Stay safe, pretty ladies!
I just love you two! 💕 those orange flowers, I believe are butterfly weed, and the light pink ones are vetch. I haven’t rode in the back of a truck in years. So fun!
The heat ! It's going to be another week of it 😬 great walk & talk, thank's for sharing!
It's been in the 90's here in Indiana this week, with the heat index reaching triple digits. I generally prefer open windows to air conditioning, but I've made an exception the past few days. It's only 69 degrees as I type on this Saturday morning, though.
Daddy ti the rescue❣️. I was wondering where that charming pond was! Enjoyed your walk and hearing all about the area!
"Danger noodle" and "nope rope" got me! 🤣
105 🥵🤯, that’s too hot! Thanks for watching! ☺️
We've had high 90s and high humity hear in Ohio too, good to see you girls.
Oh my.......I was so nervous when yall were picking the blackberries on the side of the road that yall were going to run up on a snake!!! As someone who lives in Florida, I'm sorry yall are having a heat wave but you can survive!!! I love all the scenery!!!
Same here in Northeastern Tennessee; 100+ degrees and 80+% humidity last few days . Thankfully, it's much cooler today.
Whew! Down here in the Sandhills we've had a few 100-103 days and routinely have 70% - 90% humidity (and daily rainstorms). The humidity is all summer, every summer. Good luck y'all! I hope you arent dealing with it all summer like we do.
To good! Thank you!
Thanks for taking us along on the walk. I really enjoyed the scenery.
Thanks for sharing your walk! The scenery was beautiful. It reminded me of my grandmother’s house in East Tennessee. Bless you both!
I've never seen a water snake catch a fish before! 😳
The purple flowers you were admiring @12:40 are Crown Vetch.
Hugs!
That was fun, thanks for bringing us along!
So cute to see both your personalities. Keep on.😁😘🙏
Thank you girls for taking us along on your walk it was so beautiful.....except for the snake!
