PART 2: • The Samurai Responds |...
Tank Mane responds to the Samurai by providing logs of the dungeon. The truth finally gets revealed and Xeno is ready to conclude this AoE Drama. But then some guy on Reddit gets mad and says this drama has reduced all his respect for Xeno to 0. People are way too invested in a random tank not using AoE skills in a dungeon LMAO.

Imagine being the tank that decided to grief and the internet gets mad at the DPS.
Incredible.
The SAM ended up being a better tank than the tank, taking all the heat from the community instead.
The secret shirk upgrade nobody knows about
Classic.
what was the job for the second tank ? thought they were back up for when something like this happens
Should spam 3rd eye more, all that extra sword magic he'll be A TOP parser!

"meaningless drama" -- such an oxymoron: there's no such thing.
still wholesome for me -- drama like these are so far in between that it could make 3 parts video whilst in WoW, it's just another Tuesday.

Honestly, I hope there is a part 4 😅
Part 5 is the redditor making a youtube saying xeno's entire community is toxic cause of 1 DM he got.
I’ve been playing wow for a month now, no one has even spoken to me and I have not encountered toxicity either. Kinda sad, was hopping for some drama to spice my life a little 😂 guess it’s back to 14

my favorite thing about this whole mess is that the tank is just nowhere to be found. Man is just out here playing the game, minding his own business, letting his DPS die lmao
That tank is just living the Sigma life.
The tank: “I caused drama between the dps…. Man…. F’em!” LMAO
That's because FFXIV is such a casual game, there are a ton of people who just play for a handful of hours each week and that's it. Too many nerds out there thinking that everyone is playing ffxiv whenever they're awake and not at work and when they are not on ffxiv they are thinking about the game. It takes a long time to get into content that actually requires you to play even remotely optimally to beat it. If you're a dps pulling additional mobs you're a bad player plain and simple, does it make it HARD to tank? Absolutely not but it does make it harder and it's bad etiquette because instead of the mobs running directly to the tank so they can aoe it they need to chase down the mobs to hopefully be able to aoe them all in 1 hit and hope that they haven't spread out. Again, not hard but certainly harder than it needs to be and I'd absolutely let someone die who keeps doing this. If you want to determine pull speed play a tank or queue with a tank. If I were the healer I would tell the dps that if he doesn't stop pulling I am going to let him die and leave him dead. If you're not going to play your role I am not going to play mine either.
@@xxfloppypillowxxyou did watch the video right? you can literally see the smn die when they didnt pull ahead or anything. this tank just straight up didnt aoe in a dungeon trash pack. whats your excuse for that? you dont exactly need to be good at the game or "play optimally" to do that. you can have a job, be married, have kids and play 2 hours a week and still understand that tanks are meant to tank mobs by AOEing them.
also just because you play tank doesn't make you the main characrer, be respectful of the other players time or go queue with npcs
@@petsy9979dude stop shitting on the tank you’re supposed to be shitting on the samurai defending him for no good reason.

It's so funny watching a random viewer, with little to no engagement within a streamer's community, announce their dissociation with said community over the dumbest shit while riding on their high horse. Idk how Xeno can recover from this loss

Today I learned of fflogs replay.
Thank you this gift. Now I can show my friends how ass I am in real time 😂
gotta love how this drama teaches a lot of people including me that fflogs replay is a thing LOL
fflog have A LOT more features than just showing damage. Only if people knew....
Because it's so hush hush
"The streamer whose opinions I respect has shared his opinion and I no longer respect him, hurr durr."
What a strange reddit post, dude forcefully inserts himself just to say he's fucking off cause he's upset over something no one else took seriously lol
Bro thinks people are gonna flood his DMs lmao
the funny thing is the tank (according to fflogs) has been around since ShB and he's consistently parsing fat 0's, somehow not using his 123 and from what I saw the one log from Thaleia he was kicked and replaced before the last boss. I admire his tenacity, I just know he's got a ton of people pissed over those couple years but he's still there. Still forging ahead. A hero.
Mans just living his best life, simply enjoying the game and the vibes.
Which means... he's ACTUALLY trying his best?
I don't know if I should be awed or terrified by that information. I'm honestly perplexed.
I bet a lot of people told him to start AOE-ing. At this point I can suspect griefing already HAHAHA.
@NekoArcEnjoyerI really want to know how his Scion members feels about him bro 💀
ah i see the problem; they built Tenacity as a tank.
"You go my speed, or you kick me "
Amen, brother. I'll drink to that.
The only way to play.
It's just funny because tanking is the most braindead role.

I'm sorry but how fucking brain rotted and moronic do you have to be to not play these jobs correctly, not only are they all the exact same just with different names but they aren't even complicated to begin with.
Every button has very simple, straightforward, text that then proceed to function exactly as described. The most complicated part about the combat Is finding ways to create pseudo nuance by using these abilities in ways they are not meant to be used.
I'm not the smartest person in the world, this is my first MMO.
I understand not getting mechanics or not playing optimally with rotations and perfectly aligned cooldowns.
But I will never understand or accept you not being capable of fucking attacking and healing, or holding agro, or using rampart.
You are either actively trying to be bad, or you have a mental disability and shouldn't be allowed to play games. That's all there is to it.
[ ( ( *Rant Complete* ) ) ]
Or let you die right up til the final boss and THEN kick you last minute? :D
Hard agree
One of many reasons why getting kicked NEEDS to start triggering the 30 minute penalty.
This reminds me of a time I did Labyrinth of the ancients roulette. Had a healer in my alliance pull the first two bosses wayy early before everyone got there. I was a bit too close to the third boss and it accidentally pulled on me. Healer goes “Can you not early pull the boss we have sprouts here” She early pulls the last boss and tries to use rescue on me during ancient flare to get us both killed but I had arms length on so she killed herself. The things people do to go out of their way intentionally to be a cuck is real
i once tanked WoD (not just once, but this happened once), i overaggroed everyother tank as paladin, at 50. We had two healers in group, they decided that i am not worthy to be healed by them, not even once. I died, twice. Then i turned off my tank stance and said that if i am not getting healed, i am not tanking. Those two healers, who played together in group (they kept ressurecting each other with longcast ress), then called me toxic and i have been told they tried to votekick me. At the end of the duty, i got 4 comms (i was in group with a friend-dps, who told me about the votekick).
Reminds me of a LoTA run where my tank was shitting on our party for not playing 100 optimally (they were killing adds instead of focussing boss), and I told him to relax, then in the next fight he was shirking me and chasing me with the enemy autos. Actual psycho shit
If you cannot demonstrate the skills taught to you by The Smith before they let you do Sastasha, your roulette privileges should be revoked until you re-complete it.
They don't make you do that tutorial, at least I didn't have too.
they dont make you do that tutorial anymore strangely enough
You can also see in the log replay that the tank used some kind of dash and zoomed ahead of the group, the tank seems to be the one who pulled the mobs, and then didn't aoe
The saga that never ends
Isn't it a blessing?
Didn't it just end, though?
Im bugged that the sam was complaining about boss uptime when the smn was running from it. Hitboxes are huge and iaijutsu has a long af range. If you lose uptime to a jogging summoner that's a skill issue. Idk if it was the antlion boss or not but all them bosses got giant hitboxes bro like haha just move ?????
Thats the most funny thing.. Meele Uptime is now so piss easy in FF14 in the most case its just "Take a step back for the snapshot and then go meele range again." or like me when i play Tank in casual "Give a fuck about the aoe and dont dodge at all." (it does extrem low damage btw)
Melee dps bitch and moan constantly about uptime when its probably one of the easiest things to maintain in this game lol
I had once a tank refused to tank because i as a healer got acro. He didnt realize that i gain enmity automatically through heals and started crying because he didnt get the mops attention🤦🏽
Imagine losing all respect for your streamer because he expressed his opinion. Either way, good video. This has been quite an enjoyable saga.

@Intheendyourlifeisnothing well you already made the choice to play a game instead of doing anything else with your life so why does it matter where you are in the game you are still playing it
@@cyanmage1 In that case the next time I queue up as a dps to an expert dungeon I'll just press my 1 2 3. I'm sure nobody would mind at all.
@@ruily276 Pretty sure that's how 80% of the DPs play anyway, so you'll fit right in! Looking at you, BLMs that only cast Fire at 90.
@cyanmage1 I make a choice to play a game instead of doing anything else, but that doesn't mean I don't value the time that I spend playing that game. I want to actually enjoy myself. That's the point of the video game hobby. The last thing I want is to get into a dungeon with a lobotomy patient and one or two spineless enablers, making what could've been a fun, smooth dungeon run into a frustrating slog because they can't even do the bare minimum and expect everyone else to carry their dead weight in a team game.
That's like saying: "Well you already made the choice to eat a cheeseburger instead of anything else, so what does it matter if somebody spit in your cheeseburger, it's still a cheeseburger"
I actually struggle to put into words how impressively stupid this take is, you should be ashamed that this was a thought that even went through your head. I truly hope that you're just pretending to be this dense. If you're being serious, I genuinely pity you.
I have ACT set to auto open when I play. Even in dungeons it's good to see where your rotation is at
I have too, just because you need to run act before running the game unless you activate decaulion (or whatever is spelled) and you cannot open act whenever you want while in game (you'd have to log out and log back in for it to work).
I could give two fucks about DPS in normal duties lol
How do you do this? Every time I want to use ACT, like when playing AST on an extreme or another duty where it somewhat matters, I have to log out, open act and log in and sometimes I just can't be bothered. And I always forget to do it when I start to play.

People are talking about how Mane, Xeno, or the samurai feels
But what about how the healer feels?
For the healer it was probably just another Tuesday.
By level 90, healers no longer retain the capacity to "feel." That has long since died.

Your WAR guide way back at the start of HW is what showed to me that the approach to tanking in XIV is a fair bit different than what wee bit of tanking I had done way back in WoW. Prior to that I had figured stacking defensive stats as much as possible was good when in fact it wasn't.
Also this whole episode of cringe did have one silver lining: Folks learning about FFLog's replay feature 😃
same
To be devil's advocate, he never mentioned xenos but Sexnos 😂
Bro how has this shit gone on this long
We need a part 4 asap
It's very simple, the Samurai decided that instead of fading Into anonymity he would open his mouth and put himself directly in the spotlight which caused it to gain a lot of traction
I'll say this, for the guy who's all "well we don't know if they're telling the truth"
we do know this, this one specific thing that both the samurai and summoner have agreed on
"stop moving the boss"
*summoner responds*
tank didn't have aggro on the boss for whatever reason, and the samurai was pissed because the summoner wasn't face tanking the boss so he could get his rotation off. so, yeah, because of this we're all inclined to believe that the tank was having issues holding aggro in the rest of the dungeon as well.
and although it's an AH move for the SMN to put out the names of the players involved, lets also not forget that he had blocked out the other names originally, and it was the SAM that decided to start outing people.
Why is it an ah move though? DF is essentially public space. If you don't want your name attached to stupid shit don't do stupid shit in public.
Well, the SAM didn’t out the Healer or Tank, that was Mane. And to be fair to Mane, on the replay, if he covered the tank’s name the HP bar would be VERY hard to notice. Healer’s could’ve been covered.
But the SAM outed himself, probably for his 5 minutes of fame and to promptly get roasted by about 99% of the vocal part of the community (the ones on social media).
When I'm a tank, I pull W2W cause that's the speed I play as unless the healer has expressed they are having trouble to me then i will scale back the pulls a bit. There is a cpl duties I won't do W2W in. Stone vigil comes to mind as one.
His tone in the video makes him sound more of a jerk than anyone else lol
Correction his tone is giving very much I'm a Lil bitch 😂
If kermit the frog and Peter Griffin had a child
I'm not gonna lie, when doing lvl 90 or expert roulette I expect wall to wall pulls, cause the tank and healer should be competent at that point in game, I wouldn't expect it in lvling, msq, and sometimes in 60-80 dungeons, cause you get sprouts during those so I can understand, but at lvl 90? come on man. That's why I like expert and level 90, they're nice and clean no fuck ups, easy to just do my job and say gg and leave.
Same I expect that because it's pretty common to do wall to wall pull.
If you dont like how the tanks play, tank it yourself :)
@@HookahOtaku Stop griefing in your dungeons man no one likes you.
@@HookahOtaku 'tank it yourself' and then you realize how easy W2W pulls are and wonder why some tanks arent doing it
@@HookahOtaku 10 bucks this is a shit tank.
I don't understand the criticism that there could have been something going on with the tank via like disability or some other means. He was clearly using single target abilities, if he can press one button there's honestly no reason he couldn't just press the button that was tied to Unleash. Like maybe there was a gun to his head or something, but I don't think there's any disability out there that prevents you from pressing one specific button over all the other buttons that you can press.
And I mean sure there are excuses as to why he might not have been able to do it, maybe it wasn't on his skill rotation at all who knows. The point is, he was able to walk around the dungeon and use other skills which means he had some control over his character, there's no legitimate reason for him to have a physical limitation preventing him from using one specific skill.
People will do all they can to white-knight for randoms in this game. I've legit had a tank with a disability to the point where they had to communicate via macros explaining their situation, and STILL they tanked Dzemael like a champ. Actually best Dzemael run I had at that point.
It is thinking critically. Until you have hard evidence, this whole situation is he said/she said. The FFLogs helps clarify, but to me, there is still unknowns. The actual tank? troll or newb? Did he let Mane-tank die intentional because of spite or because of bad? SAM added fuel to this situation way more than needed. The guy's reddit post to me was really spot on UNTIL he added that asinine edit at the end. SMN seems sus because he keeps added fuel after the court of puplic opinion was clearly on his side..
Ultimately, we are all hyper-analyzing a situation that we would had never seen had it not been blown out of proportions, much like Xenosys says at the end.
"Stop running around, stand still and die so i can hit my buttons" 🫠
One time I tried to help a tank get used to invulning on dungeon pulls. Sadly we miscommunicated and they popped hallowed on the run to the mobs.
Their heart was in the right place. Their mind? Not so much. But they had heart!
they're confused but they got the spirit
Xeno's theory at 15:02 on how the tank could have boosted and played like this just to try and trigger all this drama is so funny to me, I'm making it my headcanon
5:03 Nah nah nah! I disagree! Growing up online turns you from boy to MAN!! I played DoTA since I was in middle school and I can swear to you, I will never pass up the chance to turn a minor inconvinience into a life changing altercation!!🔥🔥
Yeah I didn't get thicker skin until I started being terminally online and having people give me shit for anything be it either forum takes or game performance or people exposing you to shock content. The other psychos online will make sure you get dragged down with them ha.
Kinda wish Xenosys had scrolled down a bit more in Mane's post. Under one of the comments complaining about showing the tank and healer's names in the log post, someone explains that the tank is a known griefer. He's thrown tantrums before when asked to AoE, hold aggro, etc and is notorious for pulling stunts like this. Has multiple tank classes as well, so being a 'new' tank is no excuse at all in this scenario. SAM probably didn't know, Mane probably didn't know, but now anyone who has read the thread knows.
LOL you really did make this into a 3 part series. You mad lad! 🤣
I fried some catfish today and served it with collard greens and mac and cheese. It was delicious.
You're milking this and i'm all for it 🤣
This bait was powerful, and holy crap, I have this tank in my Blacklist. xffing
Also, imagine if with all of this, the tank just made other person play for them, or was botting. xdd
I'm not trying to be a parse monkey here, but the only parse the tank has is a 1 in a normal raid so....yeah, imo it's not that farfetched to think the tank has some pretty major holes in his gameplay. Smn was justified, sam roading them coattails, case closed?
As always though, great series, love the vids Xeno, keep up the great content
As a main tank i don't give a damn if dps or healers pull. The only thing I ask is bring them too me when you get to the end instead of just waiting for everyone to get there XD. Reddit post require names to be redacted which is fine. Not redacting names can and probably will get people banned pending the situation and how it is reported. If you watch the Log, the healer was in on it with the tank too most likely. (Speculation). A healer can easily heal a dps in a single pull, some healers can heal dps in a wall to wall pull. There must have been beef in the dungeon that isn't being told. Sounds like a standard day in FFXIV.
Little bit if a PSA here.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A SAVAGE/ULTIMATE RAIDER TO CALL A TANK OUT FOR NOT AOEING TRASH MOBS IN A DUNGEON!!!

Beyond pointing and laughing, some part of me worries this hyperfixation so many players have on maintaining an overcorrective anti-elitist mindset to the point of becoming toxic themselves presents a growing potential threat to the long-term health of the game.
To me, that is where there is a lot of nuance and potential discussion of this situation. At what point in this game is it okay to not be a newb? What are the best ways to handle it. This situation shows how not to handle the situation. I do not agree with being hostile, making fun of people, or dragging names through the mud. No need from the SAM to make assumptions about the SMN and blowing it up.
The philosophy of when you should call out bad/trolling and how to approach it without coming off toxic or actually being toxic. It is nuance, and it shows people care enough about how to not be toxic.
This is my main concern from all this... I would personally just have left, wouldn't have made a big difference as dps are a dime a dozen but if they refuse to do AOE it doesn't matter if I pull ahead of them (which I personally would feel rude if I did anyhow). I hold the tank as the one most in the wrong but no one (excepting the healer) is coming out of this looking clean atm.
just finished the other video thank you strummer
I can't wait for the next part when the healers mom makes a post on twitter about it
My favorite gamer moment was when I was tanking Prae as a WAR. I told the healer not to worry about healing me on the big outside pull and that I was planning to holmgang. I proceeded to mash the fuck out of shake it off, get mad that it wasn't doing anything, and die. Because I forgot holmgang was the same button on a different hotbar.
It reminds me of when a healer asked me if they were exoected to be able to manage big pulls. My answer was yes, by the end of Heavensward you should be able to handle big pulls. Tanks have plenty of mitigation and the healers have more than enough healing spells. The trick is simple timing and spacing your mits and heals appropriately. If you used a skip or playing a class you dont know i have no sympathy for you. Unless you say something im pulling big right out the gate. Im hitting the sprint and im gone.
First mob set tomahawk or shield lob or whatever your tanks ranged attack is get in the center aoe, apply mit if you drop below half and contune to the next mob. If you miss one or a greedy dps single targets dont worry and keep going, just be sure to pick it up at the wall.
Reminds me of a dead ends run I had last month. Warrior just got back into the game a week ago and they were doing single pulls. Fine. But the issue was the warrior was just using their mit all over the place and was getting popped by single packs. I was sage so I was using EVERYTHING to keep this war alive. I spaced out all my damage reduction used zoe shield. Haima panhaima everything on the length of 2 single pulls. At the end I asked him why didnt he use vengeance or shake it off. Warriors will get mad at this. They said vengeance and shake it off were iseless.😂 I just blinked and chuckled to myself. It was one hell of a run that took 50 min.
Vengeance? Useless? My man, that’s probably one of the first ones I pop! More damage and mitigation on top? Yes please!
Vengeance IS useless. Why would you even use that in dungeon when you have Bloodwhetting in your disposal?
/s
Nah actually, I'm half serious. Bloodwhetting is unironically just that good
@2Shiba Bloodwheting is indeed just that good lol. But my war tank that day usually used it at 3/4 hp lol kinda wasting its power.
And I usually use vengeance when bloodwhetimg is down.

3:51 Amen, brother, the feared hold-W-and hit-anything-in-range strat is the bane of inexperienced players
can we get a part 4, c'mon the tank needs make a video, a twit longer, and a reddit post.
thats so cool, i never knew about the replay function. it would have helped alot when i was trying to prog p8s and no one would say anything on wipes
Love the reddit guy who said he has never really seen any part of the community, then overreacts to a situation he wasnt even in then said hes disconnecting from the community...
alr bro slay ig
I imagine the tank is at home laughing at all of this.
We really are in a drought 😂
First 15 seconds of the video and I'm reading chat like "why he say "fuck me?"
The craziest part of all of this is no one ever took the time to look up the tank to see they're in a spanish FC and probably don't even speak english.
(edit: so literally none of this matters at all, not that it ever did)
When will we get the Netflix adaptation?
I bet the tank was simply some kid playing on parents account that was left unattended. It’s the only serious explanation I can think of unless they were just trolling.
I do not really like making fun on the guys in the Reddit post (before the edit). He was asking people to think critically, which seemed pretty reasonable. He felt alarmed on the bandwagon on the SMNs side of the event; something I feel is true. And everyone is like “no one asked for your opinion”. Like what? That’s not an opinion he literally spoke facts and crucified him for it.
His edit is asinine for sure though.
FINALLY, I HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS
The healer of the group is the real winner here, guys a ghost and just got on with their day.
healer POV: probably watching netflix, and actually has no idea whats going on.
Good lord. Imagine all the drama that will come out after the final patch before expansion because players are that bored.
when I saw xeno post on twt i was confused, but now that i've seen this video it all makes sense. lol
as a healer if someone is single pulling , i just go in front of the parrty y agro some and bring it to the tank , if he/she dosnt i just tank them
I've played on leveling roulette and high level dungeons with the same hroth drk tank a few times, the dude doing lvl 54 and 80 dungeons not doing aoe combo the same way, and switching between each target for each hit of the combo, it was atrocious constantly getting hit by the adds if there were more than 2 in a pack and surprise i was also a summoner
a dps getting all the irl aggro instead of the tank is the most fitting possible way for this situation to have panned out
So Single Target Tanking is the new Troll Meta?
Also u/kanyren is the new Pyro?
Thought this kind of incident are common. Im amaze we're still talking about it lol
DRAMA FROGS ARE EATING GOOD
Nomnomnomnom
People like to pretend, that there isn’t drama in FF, but it’s far from the truth. The more suppressed a group of people become, the more bold they are in private or behind closed doors. Drama exists everywhere, we are only human after all. Still a great community, but don’t be fooled, people like this exist everywhere 😂.
This has reduced my respect for Xeno to pretty much 0 and I will be disconnecting myself from this community. Feel free to leave your hate in my inbox, I'll go through and ban everyone in there in a day or two.
now that the content has been out, the logs are recorded. its time to name change and do it all over again.
I thought the SAM was overreacting until the Redditor made an appearance. Lmao.
Tanking in FF14 outside of savage content is probably the easiest thing you can do in this game. You can consistently fail mechanics as a tank and live through it.
I honestly don't see how someone can fail at tanking without it being intentional. I specifically don't like to tank because there's very little room to show off and be considered an exceptionally good tank. You get such a huge safety net.
Not even Savage tanking is that hard. At least for Endwalker. You got huge hitboxes so no positioning, no positionals to worry about, and the HP and Defense to survive an oopsie.
Current ultimates is where it gets hard to tank imo.
@@DFfan555 True but for Savages you have a general player skill requirement where if you screw up a mechanic as any role you basically cause a wipe.
The ability of some people to write 40020202929 words essays from the most insignificant situation.
These are adults btw 😂😂😂
By chronological standards, maybe.
Why didn't the healer just heal the DPS? you can literally do the entire duty without a tank just like you can solo war and 3DPS duties...
Wall to Wall pulls. Is the way! That's where I know what kind of party I got myself. Can the healer heal? Can the dps do AOE? That's how I know if I'm in a party that wants to get stuff done and move on. If I die as a tank, it's ok. I'll do it again, but there are fewer pulls. And of course I'll be AOE. 😂
I feel you on holding the dubya in dungeons. I usually just turn on auto run, any class. Sometimes if I'm feeling spicy I'll also add sprint so they have to at least try keep up.
I think partly it's legacy from maining warrior for a while... once you no longer fear being away from the healer, you have conquered all fears... and that extends to my other classes too at this point.
Somehow the redittor self inserted as the main character of the situation lmao
The main thing I don't get from this whole saga, if indeed the tank wasn't using his aoe is... how could that even feel remotely ok. Not in a messing with other players time way, but in a "this is boring as shit" way. While doing the last few levels to get my nin to 90, I got put into sastasha which scaled me down to 27. Rogue/Nin at 27 HAS NO AOE BUTTONS AT ALL. So I'm sitting in the dungeon doing my 1-2-3 against pack pulls and feeling like the biggest jackass in the damn world.
But good news though, because Rogue gets a talent to reduce fall damage. That will really help make pack pulls not feel like anus.
Tank: Whats an AoE bruh? 😎
