  • A simple and comprehensive tutorial on how to tie a simple yet elegant knot: the Pratt knot (aka Shelby knot). This is a relatively easy knot that gives a clean and professional look that can be used in all situations. The end result looks a lot like a Windsor, but is just a bit easier to tie. Enjoy!
    BY THE WAY! The owner of The Dark Knot contacted me, and is providing a discount for all you who watch my videos! Here they are:

    I don't wear a tie but maybe once a year. Usually i get someone else to tie them for me then just slip them off and keep the knot tied. but with your video I have tied several beautiful knots. Thank you for the video.

      ***** , no that's not cordura, thats a silk tie (I assume you're asking about the tie). The shirt is a J. Ferrar 100% cotton shirt. Nice one it is.

    What length is that tie? I'm 6' so I always buy ties in the 58" range. However if I tie a half windsor, like this, then I'm left with either a tie that comes no where near my belt buckle (too short). If I tie it so that the wide part reaches near the belt buckle, then the narrow part of the tie (the back length) comes no where near able to tuck into the keeper loop. Again it'd be way too short.

    • @ReviewOutdoorGear
      @ReviewOutdoorGear  8 років тому

      yeah, just buy the longer ties, especially if you tie some fancy knots.

    • @B-a-t-m-a-n
      @B-a-t-m-a-n 6 років тому

      I have the same problem cuz of my gut! Just make the tie the right length and see if you can't just tuck it into your shirt between the top buttons. That will keep it from peeking out from behind the tie. I also use a tie chain to keep it it centered, but be careful about losing those!

      I thought it was funny. You addressed the ladies and added the men as what seemed like an after thought. When usually it would be men looking for a vid on tying ties. (And before anybody jumps in....I didn't say women wouldn't want to, or need to, know, so cool it with any outrage)
