Hi Scott
Please try 950 JDJ

AK 47
Mmmm yes, this does give me the Big Iron…
🤨📸
You should blow up an AK? Please
As long as it isn't an ak, lol
All the way up until he grenades an AK
Just you wait, Brandon.
The coolest shot in this whole video was the barrel hovering in mid-air after the table got smashed.
It was like Wile E. Coyote falling off a cliff! It just hovered there, completely disregarding gravity!
Had a cool wiggle to it also. Almost like it was swimming
Inertia is a property of matter.
I guess you could say... it's a free floating barrel....
I was watching the video and that shot played perfectly when I was reading this 😂
I love that he turned a bad accident into an amazing series.
That's how we need to take life, take something sad or bad and use it to make our lives more happy, can be jokes or a comic/book. I always do that, full dark jokes about my life and i don't give a sh*t anything haha.
It does take some serious balls to do that. I'm really happy he survived and made a full recovery. I heard about Scott from Brandon Herrera around the time that Scott had the accident. Scott's videos are so entertaining.

It's pretty crazy that the lower receiver was able to stop the bolt carrier dead in it's tracks and redirect it forward with that catastrophic of a failure. You did damn good Mr Stoner!
The lower faired well. Of course the upper came apart around the bcg so there wasn’t much rearward momentum.
I have a story for you, Scott.
Several years ago I worked in a gunstore, I met a lot of interesting people and heard a lot of stories.
One day, one of our regulars comes in, all bandaged up, it looked pretty crazy. His story, however, was even more crazy.
He explained he and one of his buddies had been out shooting on a field, he was using his old Winchester model 70, chambered in .270win.
His buddy brought a rifle chambered in .308, by now you're probably catching on as to what happened that evening.
Somehow their ammo had gotten mixed up, and he grabs a round, puts it in his rifle and chambers it.
The .308 goes right into the chamber of his Winchester Model 70 which was chambered for .270.
He pulls the trigger and the rifle goes boom.
Barrel went flying down range, the scope slammed right into his forehead, the left side of the receiver went into his forearm and the rest of the rifle went everywhere else.
The man calmly explained how he really liked that rifle, and if at all possible, would love to buy another model 70 if we had one.
He was truly an interesting man, it's honestly people like him that made the hassle of retail work worth it.
Helleva Story! Thanks for sharing it
That is a crazy story. Though I think he left the part out where him and his buddy were not drinking water that night lol.
But did you have one
Now this is a useful story! Scott, maybe the next one in your series should be about loading the wrong caliber into a rifle. Either the example above or maybe more common 300 Blackout in a 5.56.
@@hirschmeistr6842 I think we had one actually, not sure if we had one in the same caliber though.
This was like 5 years ago.
What would you like to see tested next? I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

my favorite part of the video is the facial expression on the thumb nail
The explosion gets me every time even though I'm expecting half the time
We're pretty much at that point where we're expecting it to happen so can't blame you for that really.
Yeah
I was expecting it when he was pushing the charging handle the rest of the way forward.
@AlAmin Abdullah i reported him
Sooooo glad the good, good folks @ Vanderbilt were able to ' Six Million Dollar Man ' , You back together--- YOU Sir came back to keep dominating ALL the firearms channels.
Rather than just using the safety, perhaps it would be even safer to insert the hot load as the 2nd round in the mag, so even if it "just goes off" when you take the safety off, only a normal round would fire. Only problem is you'd have to set up your string to work multiple times in a row. Just a thought
The barrel had a bullet lodged in it, a squib. So the gun would've exploded after the first round fired either way.
The table throwing will never get old.
Love you Scott!
We need a Scott and jujimufu collab. Table throwing contest.

Love how he is just owning the fact that, he almost died to catastrophic failure from a gun, and kinda made it his thing now to do it on purpose, in a somewhat safe environment.
Same
God the relief when I saw the intro thought I was about to see the Kentucky thumb back in action 👍
Bob's Big Boomsticks I love it! And then he asked "you're gonna blow it up aren't ya?"
I know grant given it's a hot round versus a squib load, but still knowing what would happen when using a rifle that has a catastrophic failure is important for me. As a Marine, I learned firearm safety not in just handling but remedial actions, which includes knowing when there's a squib load. That being said, it's kinda unavoidable if you happen to have that one hot round. Thank you for posting this one!
This series has highlighted that it is not just the chamber pressure alone that determines the _severity_ of an overpressure event - it's also the total energy of that overpressure event; The comparatively dinky 5.56 still did substantial damage to the weapon and surroundings even though the test subject fared quite reasonably. Similar was true of the pistol detonations. By comparison, .50 BMG is packing _significant_ energy, as Scott knows first-hand.
Well his thumb at least anyway.
He knows first thumb! I kinda wish these guys would stop giving politicians ammunition (dumb pun intended) to take away our 2nd amendment rights. But I also understand it's educational in a way about safety. I love Scott and his other friends channels but those politicians are tards and know nothing about firearms even though they are surrounded by private security with them. Stop electing the stupid ones!
Nobody has more respect for guns that are about to blow up than Kentucky Balistics. mad respect and glad you are still with us Scott after the first major gun go boom incident

*My entire argument when somebody uses 🤓*
Anyone else get the feeling that this guy is keeping the folding table industry in operation single handedly.
This series is amazing. Every episode has been top notch. Thank you so much for putting in the time, effort and money to do this. Lots of us appreciate it tremendously 👍
Im curious to know now, just what an after market optic would look like after such an event
Or if the mag was fully loaded
i’m pretty curious abt how powerful that bullet would be out of something that could handle the pressure……….
I was so relieved when Scott took off the Vortex AMG optic before blowing up the rifle. haha
Yeah I was in suspense
I didn't want to vortex to get wasted
Bob and the spray bottle 😂
I would absolutely buy my firearms from Bob's Big Boomsticks!
Great video, as always!
if they ever help a gun store sell inventory again maybe Bob should step up =D
My Cabbages! Every time, I see Scott demolish cabbages I hear the cry from Avater the last air bender.
Also, really cool to see, how a catastrophic failure on an ar15 looks. That barrel looked really messed up.
Thank you Scott, for being entertaining and informative at the same time.
Greetings from Germany.
I still go back and watch that series sometimes, probably one of my favorite animated shows ever.
Why, that's how you make Kentucky Coleslaw
Scott's local produce dealer won't have to worry about going under.
Way late but that’s the first time I’ve seen the forward assist actually utilized. I guess hot rounds need a little extra help. I absolutely love how this is Scott’s new mission.
Same here. I’m guessing it was because he followed the bolt back with the charging handle kinda gently instead of dropping it.
You make me proud to be from Kentucky, keep up the fun and educational videos!
He makes me proud that my passport says United States despite having squinty eyes!

Though Scott is likely a Hilltopper.

Been watching Scott for a while, and seeing him go from more serious, to more goofy and having fun with himself, has been great to see
Love the pseudonym you came up with. I think the "text me to claim your prize" thing is total scam bait. I don't think Scott is person promoting it.
Actually had one of these last year. Totally my fault. After reloading thousands of round over the years, I made the mistake of dumping my powder thrower into the wrong bottle. Yes, I added pistol powder to my rifle bottle. Thank God only the upper & bolt assembly were trashed. By design, I’ve only have one powder out at a time, but obviously screwed up here. Hopefully, my mistake will help others to avoid a similar fate.

He always has "fun with himself" 😂 🫡
He has a great amount of jokes per minute ratio. All of em good ones too. "Continue our war...on DIABETUS" lol
This also happens when a 300blk is fed into a 5.56. Yes it will chamber as it forces the bullet into the case upon chambering. Be extra careful not to mix your ammo.
Had that happen twice on our range!
@Scottkb722 A sucker's born every day, I guess. BTW... what did he win? I'm never so lucky☹️

When All three look different.
@@Melanie16040mark your mags with tape or something
I once managed to have a 300blk go off in a 5.56 upper. All the pressure went out the mag well as well, after first splitting the bottom of the bolt carrier. The upper came out completely unscathed and is still perfectly functional. The lower got a slight bow to the mag well but also works just fine. I did get a cool looking copper tube heat formed to the neck of what was left of the case. The lead core of the bullet shot out the barrel and left the jacket 😂
One of my sons, Ethan, had his M4 blow up when he was in Korea during the missile crisis. Luckily he was relatively uninjured and photos of his blown up rifle are now used in the training manuals
Bob finally busted out the spray bottle 😂😂😂
10:23 I like how the barrel levitated for a few seconds lmao
The more this guy does the more I like his content. Keep smashing and acting goofy Scott. You the man!
The quality of your content has gotten so impressive over the last couple years!
Would love to see these tests without a squib. An over pressure failure would be much more likely than both. But I know you kinda only get one go at blowing it up and you want a proper boom. Thanks again Scott
Some of the guns that were overbuilt to high extent might even survive any possible overpressure rounds you can make using any smokeless powder-based stuff but I would love to see it anyway!
I used to have an old Forehand&Wadsworth D/A #32 revolver in .32 rimfire and believe it or not but I ended up increasing the load all the way to maximum pressure possible in it's caliber by filling it's whole case capacity with the PETN-laced super-fine and really fast burning smokeless powder and the gun survived even that!So the barrel was just 2.5" and the bullet weight was 100 grains;the bore diameter .316" and case length .800" so basically the round was dimensionally identical to .32 S&W long and the muzzle velocity reached a whopping 2130 fps!So the damn .32 snub nose revolver ended up producing over 1000 fpe which is by the way exactly the same energy as the full sized (18" barrel) AK-74 rifle with ball ammo in 5,45×39mm! Just imagine the recoil by the way: the little sucker kicked like a good .44 magnum should feel!
@@johnsheppard1476 32 rimfire is cool!
Frankly, yes the forearms were missing, but the overall destruction was pretty safe all things considered.
The keltec RDB is probably relatively safe if an similar round was chambered and fired out of it. Since it had a downward ejection and the magazine well to direct the blast. Of course the magazine would still be destroyed along with the bolt and piston.
I don't know what I loved more, the intro or the bad jokes. Either way I friggin' loved it
What I like the most about this series is when you go gradualy up to se at what point the gun fails. Slightly hotter round each time. Can't remember if you blew up a leveraction yet, if not it's time!
There is no casual increments involved here.
Even in a .223 barrel alot of loads top out at 100% case capacity so if we assume 100% case capacity is max 55k pressure in order to create a 550k psi round you would have to literally compress the powder into a solid and fit 5-10 times more powder than 100% case capacity. Actually I take that back, I don't even think it's possible with the fastest rifle powders meant for .223 and ya he even said it's a squib so I'd bet that round wasn't even capable of blowing up the gun without the obstruction.
cia should have dropped a bunch of these rounds around afghanistan for the taliban to find on evacuation day
@@whatsmolly5741 Pistol powder or shotgun powder would do it. How much? I have no idea.
That intro lmao. I want to see a large revolver of some kind have a catastrophic failure in a future video, maybe a .44 magnum or larger.
I think that a bulpup explosion test would be interesting, considering the chamber is much much closer to the face i am curious to see how a tavor, mdrx, AUG,(do we really need to test a keltec) would hold up to failure.
i hope that one of those is in the works, havent seen a bulpup catastrophically fail

@@phalanx3803 i am so sorry to hear that. il run a mag in your name
Agreed. The concept of a full length barrel in a compact gun is absolutely fantastic. I have always wanted a 12 gauge bullpup. But something about a magnum three and a half inch shell going off right next to my throat never really seemed like a good idea
I've seen a couple of catastrophic failures with the AR, the inherent design directs the great majority of the blast into the BCG and down the magwell. Pretty much destroys the small parts leaving the lower repairable. In the two incidents I witnessed, no harm to the shooter, no forearm damage, no hand damage, nothing came back into the face. These were normal rounds, failure was determined to be a headspace issue. Those were pretty small blasts compared to your "test".😂
A couple? I spent a decade in the Army around ARs and never saw one blow up. Was it hot loads or cheap rifles?
Headspace is set even when changing barrels
Scott, the intros to your videos keep getting better and better. Thank you for the laughs my guy 🤘💀
FACTS they are great
8:40 when the peice fell out Scott's face was priceless 😭
i laughed so hard at the dealer character, absolutely funny.
I lost it when Bob started spraying you with water "No means no!" 🤣
Hey Scott, With that much force going downward, I imagine it would set off any rounds if they were loaded in the mag. That would be interesting to experiment with if you wanted to retry this again! Thanks for being safe and have a great day!
dang it, had the same thought and missed your comment. Agreed!
It did when it happened to me.
I’ve never seen it explode the rounds below it. They generally get scattered all over the place, but never go off. I’ve seen this in real world a few dozen times. I would guess 30-35 times to be more specific.
Would also love to see you get some ballistic fore arms for this idea too would help illustrate the extent of damage that could possibly happen
Great idea 👍
I died when the water bottle came out.
Just when I thought you couldn't be anymore awesome, you go and totally redeem yourself 🤣
The barrel hovering in mid air was excellent. That rifle actually had a true free floating barrel if only for a brief moment post rifle destruction/table collapse. Pretty cool 😎.
Scott I think you should get another AR and get a bunch of rounds that gradually increase in pressure until damage happens. That would be awesome to see.
The skits at the beginning always make me laugh 😂
That AR froze in mid air 😂. Pukka slow-mo

Blind Ryder 609 Ooooo. AK dust cover and bolt up in the face. Seen that on video before when an AK blew up. Most ARs that I have seen blow up on video usually blow out through the ejection port and down through the mag well but not in the shooter's face.

Double negative. The correct way to say this is “this man always puts a smile on my face”. Which is a little bit 🏳️🌈 but to each their own I guess
He's a genuine nice guy
This reminds me of when some people had issues with their adopted M16A1s.
And I love this fantastic video
My theory is that the destruction occurred primarily downward and laterally due to the bolt being locked into the receiver extension and the squib not allowing gas to get to the gas tube to unlock it. This setup needs to be done twice more. Once with a clear bore, to see if the gas system would prevent some of the damage and once with the lugs shaved off the bolt.
Donate two more ARs and I'm sure he'll be happy to do that for you. :)
500,000 psi is way too much pressure. The bolt would likely not have unlocked before the whole gun exploded anyways, like seen. The pressure is way too high, and way too fast. The powder being used for these loads is waaaay faster than a normal rifle powder, so the pressure builds up incredibly fast. It would explode before the bullet has even moved down the barrel much.
@@KimballPrecisionRifles I’m not saying it will survive. It would just be interesting to see what difference it might make in the blast patterns. I would especially like to see what would happen if it sheared the lugs off a weak bolt .
You are an example of turning a life changing event into a life lesson. These videos are are entertaining and informative at the same time. Thank you for sharing.
Aboit 30 Yeats ago, some FACTORY federal ammunition blew my uncles savage 99 up.. BUT, it blew the magazine DOWN ND off, no age to the shooter.
Federal loaded 1 powder charge, 1. Bullet, ANOTHER powder charge and another bullet! (The loading machine did that several times) so my uncle had 2 or 3 more OOPS bullets.
Federal bought him a brand new rifle. -- I have read in the 90s and 90s they had LOTS that were over pressured... MOST hunters I know won't buy Federal to this day fir this.
I am impressed you managed to get that much pressure, .223 loads take up the majority of the case volume so they are difficult to overcharge. I am guessing you used a fast burning pistol powder and the heaviest possible bullet?
