That's really surprising. The x3 has much more woofer surface so it should he able to do much better here and the c5 seems to be over-exerting itself. Firmware updates down the line could help with this.
The Xtreme 3s bass boost is at around 60Hz, the bass cuts off at around 40Hz I think they tuned the C5 differently because of size? But it's weird to me that the charge 5 has that much power at 45Hz
my charge essential over excursions from the 30-40 hz, and it's not in the LFM mode actually
the excursion in c5 between 40 and 60 is just a waste because it sounds inside the speaker, not in the air nor against a nearby object
That’s why x3 doesn’t excursion too much in the 40-50 area because it doesn’t need it, minimal bass is heard in 49hz
Bass based in pure vibrations it’s not a real bass, it’s a internal resonance
charge could get excursioning but actually a note is heard about 60hz, which it is that counts, in the xtreme a note is good about 49hz
nice review! i am looking for a jbl as yours.. do you think is better 2x jbl charger 5 to make stereo, or have better quality overall than only one xtreme 3? what do you think? thx in advance for helping :::)

Zeer interessante video's! Vraagje waar ik nergens een echt antwoord op vind: Kan je met 2 JBL charge 4 of 5 écht stereogeluid horen? Of is het 2x mono met enkel balans regeling links en rechts? En speelt die 5 ook beter zachte muziek zoals jazz of zang of klassiek? Want ik wil er niet die teringherrie mee spelen die ze in elke ad of youtube video gebruiken.

I had the Charge 3 in my kitchen, then purchased the Xtreme 3 but I always found the Charge 3 more pleasant to listen to and the Xtreme 3 too boomy. I've since sold the Xtreme 3 and will soon purchase the Charge 5.

Xtreme 3 is luider en meer bas maar veel duurder. Voor kwaliteit zou ik de xtreme 3 nemen maar qua budget zou ik de charge5 nemen.

Charge 5 is a clear bass, Good jazz, Powerful sound, And volume for its size, while 3 extreme will be more powerful, louder by 1-2 db, at a maximum of 3. But extreme 3 is much more expensive, and in general, extreme itself is not fish not meat) and the charge 5, it's just a bomb!

Compare the charge 4 with the charge 5 pls
Charge 5 sounds a lot different. I've had the Ch4 for over 3 years now, and received the Ch5 yesterday. Charge 5 has a tweeter and a woofer, while the Ch4 has a full-range driver, so the Ch4 is a bit more muffled in the high end, while the Ch5 is kinda too shrill for my taste. BUT, the Ch5 has an EQ option if you download the "JBL Portable" app, and you can turn down the highs a notch and it will sound perfect! So after doing that I'm very happy with it. The bass is slightly deeper than the Ch4, and slightly louder. And since there are 2 drivers instead of one full range, the sound quality is much better.
Only thing I don't like too much is the crazy amount of sound processing JBL uses in their more recent speaker models. 60hz bass on the charge 5 maxes out at 8/15 (53.33%) volume on my phone ... But it sounds good if course, I just wish they would simplify the DSP, so I could figure out how to eq it to my liking. Since the bass acts very differently at higher volumes. Know what I'm saying?

At around 50% volume, the Xtreme 3 is up 7db on the Xtreme 2 at 50hz
At around 80% volume, the Xtreme 3 is up 6db on the Xtreme 2 at 50hz
At 100% volume, the Xtreme 3 is up 5db on the Xtreme 2 at 50hz
50hz is the low end of the bass on both these models, being 5db - 7db up is very audible. So the Xtreme 3 does go noticebly lower and rightly so. It is a newer model and I noticed it is being a trend for JBL to produce newer models that go deeper than their last generation. Love it when reviewers take frequency response charts, so things like that wont be debateable.
Может кому-то будет полезно, по поводу что лучше, решил я вообщем купить себе новую колонку, была у меня до этого чардж 3, посмотрел что есть в магазине, и увидел что самое новое это чардж 5, не думая купил себе чёрную сборка tl, послушал не несколько дней и мне показалось что маловато Бассов как для меня, начал смотрел видео сравнения и пошёл делать возврат, покупая экстрим 3, купил, пришёл домой, послушал ее два дня, и каждый раз у меня возникало сомнение, что то не так, ну вот не то, да бассы сильнее, но они какие-то не такие, они не дополняют музыку, они просто где-то бубнят, высокие частоты кричат отдельно, низкие отдельно. Я начал думать что бы вернуть экстрим 3 и взять снова чардж 5, т.к. в чардж 5 реально звук по качеству лучше, в ней все сбалансировано как то, получаешь кайф от музыки, да экстрим 3 мощнее, но каждый динамик играет сам по себе. В итоге сделал я возврат и покупая чардж 5 снова, увидел в наличии зелёный цвет сборка nd, взял ее, ребята я очень доволен теперь. Звук в nd сборке мне больше понравился, чем в tl, очень приятный басс, на эквалайзере, в приложении jbl, я поднял бассы на верх, все остальное посередине. Я прям очень рад что попробовал и экстрим и чардж и выбрал то, что как по мне самый лучший вариант. Бассы крутые, звук очень сбалансирован, для любого стиля. Nd сборка реально лучше tl. Надеюсь для кого то мой комментарий будет полезен сьекономит вам хорошую сумму денег и поможет определится с выбором.

Nope due to the crossover inside so the higher frequency goes to the tweeter and the lower to the woofer
I really like how much of an improvement the racetrack driver over the Xtreme driver is!
Overall and for its prize I think the charge 5 is better than the Xtreme 3 because there isn't that much difference in power.

Partyboost don't change sound, bass and volume. You just get sound from 2 sides
Also connect plus don't change anything

not in JBL portable "bass EQ" +2.. if you'll use mono mode, then yes & the tweeter dies alongside too
That distortion is ridiculous, you can't hear any bass over the harmonics on the Charge 5 at all.

@@techderaudios Yes, but charge 5 works like charge 4 on the lfm, tk. starts at 45Hz, not 55Hz (the speaker will killy very quickly due to a lot of movement).

You cannot test them with LFM.... the charge 5 doesn’t go deeper it just distorted. When you listen to music, Xtreme 3 blows always Charge 5

@@_.ser._.john_.thats not LFM 😂 it's just a system bug with mono mode that's fixed on Android 11 and above, my phone with android 9 still works with mono mode. It just doubles the power sent to speaker
