- Yall, we're 4 months into the new year, let's hope this vid lands. We're redesigning 3 characters from the Yandere simulator and yip-yapping about them while also getting off-topic.

Hello, this is just a little bit of a fun fact or thing about the last rival son the last rival is gyaru which was a movement in japan that fights against beauty standards like being meek, Having black hair, and also having pale skin I feel like you should lookup kogal looks for the other gyarus if you do I think you would like it :3
I thought the bullies were the only gyarus in the game, but thank u for informing me, I didn't really search up Japanese fashion when I was designing these characters, so they might be lacking in so areas, but next time I'll do better research to better improve the characters ☺️

This was a really fun video! Please don't apologize for the yapping, idk about everyone but for me, and I think many others, that's the most fun thing about watching people's speedpaints! It's great so see the thought process behind the designs since it helps so much in learning how others do it and perfecting your own work process :]
Your style is also really pleasant, I love the shading especially!
If I may, a little thing that I think could be better is the music you put in the speedpaint - it would be great if it was a little more quiet, it was hard for me to process what you're saying bc it was a bit distracting (tbf I'm very sensitive to audio things so it might not be a big issue, just what I thought while watching!)
As for designs, I think you did a great job! I don't personally know a lot about Yandere Simulator since I barely watched stuff about it and it was years ago, but I looked at the characters' info to give more of an opinion :]
Starting with Ayano, I'm not great with very simple designs so I can't really say I would do anything differently - I was thinking about a small accessory relating to Senpai, but found out he is very bland personality-wise in the game (which I had some thoughts on, but that later!) so I wouldn't know how to go about that - maybe something relating to love, like cherry blossoms from the tree that is a place of confession in the game, or omamori? Maybe a strap for a weapon on her leg hidden by the skirt? Anyway, not much ideas. I did want to say that you mentioned overdoing it with the blue in her palette, but I think it fits well with her personality! She's a very bland character that has basically one trait - being obsessed with senpai - so one-color palette feels fitting, with the small amount of red hinting at her dangerous side.
Osana is my favorite from your designs! She looks way prettier with the changes you did and I like the backstory you thought of! Also, hard agree on the thoughts on her personality - tsundere characters always annoyed me so much, I have no idea why so many people found them cute! I don't think having feelings for someone is a good excuse to being awfully mean to them (or worse, hitting them, which I hate considering that it's physical harm that is very much dismissed when it's a girl "playfully" hitting a boy?) and I don't know why with this personality their relationship would end in any other direction than Senpai finally having enough of her and not wanting to deal with her.
And finally, Raibaru! This is the one I have the most thoughts on! Your design is very cute, but personally I think it doesn't fit the character that well. I'll start with the comment you made on her body type; I completely understand what you meant, but it's actually a pretty common misconception of how muscles work! Firstly, you can very much have both fat and muscles, from what I've seen it's actually more common for stronger people to not be that skinny, no-fat route is taken more by bodybuilders than people focused on physical strength. So while I think it's great to show a bit more muscle on her, I wouldn't make her skinnier. Also, muscles that arent flexed aren't that clear and can look more like fat than muscle, they're actually pretty squishy, only becoming hard when flexed! MajorPectoralis on tiktok has a playlist of videos where he explains and shows how it works/looks, I recommend checking that out because it's a really helpful thing to learn for drawing various body types! :] (a fair warning that people make a lot of suggestive comments about it, so if you don't like them I wouldn't read the comment section!)
Thus, as as much as they could've shown she has a bit more muscle, I think chubbier body type fits her better. I'm also conflicted on her eye color, because I like how lively it is in the original design, but yours looks very pretty as well, so not really a complaint :] I don't know if your backstories for the characters are meant to be a deeper exploration of them or replacement of what is in the game, but from what I've read Raibaru was very proud of her achievements as an martial artist, so I don't think she would be self-concious about her body build caused by work-out. But the big sweater still fits her having a cute appearance and clearly also embracing that, so I don't think it affects the design negatively, just my thoughts!
Anyhow, I really liked the video! Would say sorry for the long comment but suppose that would be similar to you apologizing for your yapping lmao, I like sharing my thoughts and hearing others so I will just assume if someone came this far they were interested in reading it. Your designs are really nice, I struggle with simpler designs so it was great to see how you went about them. Hope your channel gets more recognition soon, I had a lot of luck to have this in my recommendations! Also, hope you'll have a great day
And this is just about my thoughts about Senpai and their (I realized they can be both a girl and a boy, that's neat!) relationship with other students, not the video, so feel free to skip if you're not interested in that :]
While reading about Senpai it's clear they are really bland and have very little personality, don't stand out at all. And who does it remind me of? Ayano! Maybe she saw the similarities in them and fell for the idea that they might be someone like she is, someone she can be herself with, ironically making her finally actually feel something more. And one does wonder why would they be so popular without standing out, but maybe it's because their personality is heavily influenced by others? Everyone can basically spill whatever they want onto them if they go about it in the right way, pretty much like a blank canvas. And that made me think that Ayano could have very conflicted feelings about it - seeing someone that doesn't stand out at all, just like her, being so popular. Should she be happy that it means she might not have to pretend to be like others as much to be liked, or be angry that people didn't like her when it seems so similar? Or be angry that all of these people influence Senpai with their more colorful ways of being, making them someone different, less like her? I found it very interesting that actions of Ayano (and with that actions of others, since she is the one to put a stop to them causing different scenarios) apparently can change Senpai's personality a lot. And, while Senpai is clearly popular, it seems like they aren't actually aware of that, maybe thinking a bit like Ayano, that they don't fit in well? I'm not really a fan of this game, but hearing the comments in the video I thought it's really fun to think about the story more, since it's not that developed in the game itself, so you can add so many layers of your own onto it.
U make a lot of good points,Though I didn't read the whole thing, I'll still keep in mind your analysis and thoughts for later videos if I want to keep redesigning the characters
Also, thank you as well.when I was making this video I got a little carried away and forgot a lot of topics and ideas I was gonna bring up, instead I kept talking about non-important things and gave them different back stories to justify their personality and actions.I barely explained their designs and my reasoning😭😭😭.Next time I'll better analyze the characters and I'll try to get less off topic.

please don't worry, I suggest you to have a tiny script of your main ideas into a shortened sentence based on your preferences. like just write it down, bad or not. it'll make it more genuine but allow yourself to be out script if you wish to. this is your channel, not mine and I highly respect you for this video . Thank you for the advice, I wrote down keywords, so I wouldn't talk too much about things that dosn't matter, and so I could talk about other things i noticed or wanted to talk about, but in the end I got off track and stopped looking at the paper of keywords and got off track😅

I always assumed that it had to do with the fact that he offered to help her up when she fell after running into him. Not sure if it was ever actually sated in lore but I always had the idea that she was, maybe not bullied, but at least outcasted because of her kind of apathetic(I think that’s how you would describe her, maybe)personality. So I always thought it was like an ‘oh my gosh the first person to show me basic human decency.’ Possibly misconstrued as an act of kindness instead of basic human decency due to her prior social experience.
But. I have no idea if this is actually the case or has any standing in actual Yandere sim lore. This was just my assumption way back when I was more active in the Yandere sim community. A headcanon perhaps even.
And honestly yeah I don’t fully understand what makes the anime harem protagonists so attractive. I guess maybe because they’re usually not creepy or anything which I feel is just a basic thing you would want in a partner. Sometimes I guess you can say they’re kind. I can’t think of a harem protagonist that’s mean anyways. Most of the time I would define them as characters with basic human decency. Which I’m starting to think is more rare than it should be if the internet is anything to go by.

I think It would make sense for her to be avoided by everyone and then only noticed my Tarou,making her fall for him,but everyone tends to forget that she has no real emotions meaning she wouldn't really care.maybe deep inside she wanted to be noticed.also harem protagonist are not always dissent(mainly depending on the anime they're in)some r always innocent and child like, others only take advantage of girls, most of the time it's a copy pasted personality that makes them feel watered down and empty

For me I always felt theres a way to get Ayano to kill but still be semi stable like maybe she had a low dopamine but upon meeting or hanging out with Senpai it was extremely there to the point that she gets addicted to the feeling.
Have her be into maybe true crime to spark the ideas like have Info-Chan be a true crime podcast. That gives her ideas. You could also have her have a limited amount of friends but the friends she does have encourage her to try to get with senpai but when she asks for advice she mistakes what they ment. Like you have to beat the competition and then she actually beats one (physically) i just think it makes her have some interests and things instead of the blank slate because compared to other yanderes in the genera she just doesn't compare at all to them all her interest are Senpai and the possible dopamine high she gets from her violent behavior.

Pg 2 makes a lot more sense than what I came up with(my idea was, she was always a psychopathic menace from the beginning)

i loved and still love yandere sim but everything with the dev ruined the entire game’s reputation and it makes me wanna cry cus the game is so good 😢
Fr, I like the game play and silly aspects of the game,like mods and gliches.i liked how there was so much to do in th game and how every character had their own thing going on,I also like how all the characters in the school looked different and had their own unique vibes going on,like the gyarus or the science club or the game clud.
the dev is a disgusting person, and I hope he gives the game to people who actually know how to make a game.this game has been in development for 9+ years
