I recall reading somewhere that Rowling had said that when George found the Mirror of Erised he thought it was only an ordinary mirror, not realising the reflection showed a boy with two ears.
Although I'm not a twin, after reading the death of Fred Weasley, I analyzed his death. If it were me who suffered the loss of a sibling, it would be so hard to get over. So for George being his twin whom he shared everything with, dreams, anger happiness, the whole Umbridge thing, and so on, then having to see him dead on the ground was like he himself dying. This is something he will never get over. Thank you for the video, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
sad facts: george couldn't successfully cast a patronus after fred died because all his happy moments were with fred 😭 apparently, george slipped a note into fred's casket saying 'when we drank that ageing potion, i wish that wasn't the only time we saw each other old. 😓 lilly took care of fred in heaven just like molly did with harry 🥺
I can't speak for anyone else but Freds' death just crushed me and I had to put the book down and take a breather. Thank you very much for the research on Georges' continuing story. I'm glad he got married and had children and hopefully passed on that carefree prankfulness to them. My own take on the twins is that they were absolutely brilliant. Geniuses who could have done anything but turned their genius to joy and fun that was so desperately needed in a time of war.
I was so shocked by this death and further shocked when in an interview somewhere JKRowling said it was either Fred or Mr Weasley and I chose Fred. I was stunned by it. Love the video and can't wait for the next one.
She once said that she wasn’t sure between Sirius and Molly Weasley and I only knew about an impending death when reading the book so the whole time I kept thinking it was Molly and was blindsided when it was Sirius.
@@Littlebit31 Sirius and Fred's deaths hurt. I cried the most over Dobby and Fred but Sirius's hit me in a different way, I was stunned. Harry's only remaining family!! And then, two years later JK Rowling killed Remus as well and Dobby!! She broke apart every character that had ever supported Harry like family. Dumbledore too. Everyone that you connected to. Everyone that Harry relied on to be his older relatives, to act as his family. At least he had the rest of the Weasleys. I cried writing this 😭😭💕
What's more sad is the scene in order of the phoenex when Mrs weasley was with the boggart even in death she couldn't imagine Fred and George separately
When I think of how George looks into the mirror of erised, I think of what dumbledore said. “The happiest man on earth can use the mirror and just see his reflection” an outsider seeing George’s happy joking exterior might think the same of him if they could see what he sees, just with 2 ears but it’s the complete opposite interpretation
I was also soooooo sad when I read this piece in the book. I couldn't believe it. It's like this... in the books... they just outwitted everything and everyone... but this was the REAL LIFE war... and they were no match... They did their best... and it just wasn't enough. This broke me... and when the movie came out.... I got to see only a short piece of their images.... (although it was shortened in the movies for the sake of time...) You could feel the palpable sadness. Thanks for making this video.
Of coarse Goerge would see himself and Fred in the Mirror of Eirsed, they were truly happy with their shop going. Losing Fred just made that a little less happy. You are never the same when someone you love dies, and the entire Weasley family were changed that day. Unless you knew them intimately you could never tell, but they all lost a piece of themselves.
My headcannon is that after the war, George returns to the burrow. In his room, he sees thier beds, both messy after rummaging for clothes to wear. He saw Fred's sweater on the edge of his bed. He remembered how Fred told him earlier to switch their clothes to remind each that if ever they got separated they would still have a part of each other. George breaks down in guilt knowing that he never agreed to that until the moment he saw the similar "F" on the sweater on his brother's lifeless body.
I like the idea of ththe sweaters I would make it cannon. Just a few tweeks. They weren't living at Burrow when he died. They had their own place above store. Plus they were living with Aunt Muriel when they went into hiding.. Driving her crazy trying to run owl service from her house.
I always wondered if George would've commissioned a portrait of Fred that he could interact with. Of course that comes with its own pain as George ages and Fred doesn't. And after George passes his kids could get a portrait of their father so they could be together again forever.
MANY years ago I was in the waiting area of my doctors office. There was a mother of a six year old boy outside & the doctor had his identical twin in his office. The next time I was at the doctors he was hurrying in. He was late. He explained he was at a funeral. He asked if my parents & I remembered the twin boys from last time. Well there was a major car accident & one of them was killed. I had only seen them that one time in all of history but this fictional death reminds me of that real death.
Aww that fanfic was written so sadly "Separated by an inch of glass" My question to you Potterfolklore is, did Harry ever tell George about the resurrection stone that he had discarded in the forbidden forest, and if so would George had gone to look for the stone so he could communicate with his deceased Twin brother?
this might be a little late but there is a thing say after the battle. harry went to look for the stone for George but sadly disappointed when he couldn't find it
@@silly_.rabbit2 i know it was very sad😭 the only reason he couldn't find it was because afterwards the centaurs trampled it into the ground on there way to the battle, making it impossible to find even though he searched for hours
Fun fact: after filming the scene where Fred died, James fell asleep on the floor and everyone went to get lunch. He woke up to find everyone eating Fun fact: the part where George was crying at Fred's death, he was crying real tears because he visualized losing his twin brother in real life
Seriously though imagine having an identical twin who passed away and then having to look in the mirror knowing that the reflection could have been his twin..
Personally I don’t think that would be a good idea. Maybe if it was used only once for a bit of closure but not straight up given. It’s like the mirror of erised. George might’ve gone down a very bad road if he always had it and always seen Fred
I saw a comment once and it said: A year after Fred’s death George looked into the Mirror of Erised and saw himself with both his ears. Discussed in himself he turned away only to realise it was Fred.
I can't say that I saw it coming but when Fred forgave Percy before the Battle at Hogwarts, yes I believe he forgave him, it did make me feel a little uneasy. I thought, 'Something bad is coming.'
You forgot that George wasn’t able to do a Patronus charm ever again because of Fred’s death ☠️. J.K. I think 💭 said that once, if I remember correctly. 😉
Okaaaay first I’m surprised he didn’t become. Ghost of Hogwarts that continuously pranks it’s students and nasty teachers. Second I’m also a little disappointed that their pranks didn’t reach elaborate mega scale by continuously pranking deatheaters and lord Voldemort and show off how much of a cunning brilliant masterminds these twins are. Their pranks could have been the reason the war turned tides. A lot of deception and traps would have just made everything funnier and satisfying. They could have been a major forefront in the battle
Hey guys, did he release the Riddle animated story? I didnt know because I was hoping for it, but havent been up to date and didnt see it in the playlist. The graphic style looks so awesome.
Listen don’t get me wrong, but I mostly cry for George that is forced to live in a life without Fred, a life that is filled with grief because of his twin’s death, a death that he will never get over, for George, every mirror is the mirror of Erised, and although he still had a sense of humor, he will never be the troublemaker he was before, when Fred was right by his side, every single step of the way, although George may have moved on, Fred has a place in George's heart no one can ever replace, and ever since Fred died, there was a whole in George's heart that cannot be filled by anyone else, Fred's death left George a scar that cannot be healed, a mark or scar that burns deeper than anything, one that hurts more than any other scratch or booboo............ George had to suffer from his brother's death, George spent everyday mourning Fred's death, and Fred's soul is resting in peace........ Fred died laughing, while George lived crying, mourning Fred's death. P. S: ik that what I wrote might hurt most of u, it hurts me, but I wanted to write this.. 😔😞😣😭😭😭🥺🥺
I am so glad that George found some happiness after losing his brother. He found the will to go on in Fred's memory. George was never to produce a Patronus after losing his twin because all his happiest memories were with Fred.
During lock down me and my partner watched all the films, and I said to my bf last night I can’t imagine how George felt losing the other him, then I come across this video 👍🏻 perfect timing thank you
This was a long ass movie yet they killed off Tonks, Lupin and Fred OFF SCREEN? OFF FREEKING SCREEN? And yeah yeah, we see a brief scene where fred gets disarmed by witch extra number 12, but screw that, show us it, that was the idea of the film right? They aint kids no more, shits dark!
They were teenagers and we don’t know how significant the relationship truly was. The only issue should be them (George and Angela) getting together based on trauma bonds as it’s not healthy, however other than that you’re thinking a lot into teenagers who messed around..
My goodness! Your channel is just awesome! I have being following it since November (already subscribed) But,I have a doubt....in the Chamber Of Secrets, why did the Dursleys dint want Harry to escape? I'm a Potterhead but can't get this point.
I think they just wanted to make him miserable. They had already found out he wasn't allowed to use magic out of school. Knew he would be punished if he did. Locking him up would make him try to escape on his own. They then made his life miserable. So he would just give up and try to escape. Which meant he would be expelled. They didn't want him around but couldn't stand to see him happy at Hogwarts. Didn't want him to go there in first place. If he didn't go he would be living there attending public school while Dudly was away at boarding school.
I kinda imagine George having moments/years of looking toward his 'brother' just to realize he isn't there ... or pausing for Fred to finish his sentence just for it to be silent :(
Moll never lost a child up until that point, though...It’s a different pain. I didn’t realise Freddo even died first. It didn’t sink in and I had to re read it. So heartbreaking..
The excerpt describing George and the mirror of Erised was so poignant and beautifully written...but you don't cite the author! Surely authors of fan fiction deserve full credit?

So for George being his twin whom he shared everything with, dreams, anger happiness, the whole Umbridge thing, and so on, then having to see him dead on the ground was like he himself dying. This is something he will never get over. Thank you for the video, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The spell cast on them when adding their names to the goblet of fire will be the only time George saw Fred as an old man.
I'm sad that the movies didn't show his death scene, because not all people know how did he die...🗿💔
I'm pretty sure he died when a wall blasted
@@zoey9658 Yes😢
I want Fred Weasley to stay alive from the dead and stay live and never let go that promise and never lose hope and surrender
sad facts:
george couldn't successfully cast a patronus after fred died because all his happy moments were with fred 😭
apparently, george slipped a note into fred's casket saying 'when we drank that ageing potion, i wish that wasn't the only time we saw each other old. 😓
lilly took care of fred in heaven just like molly did with harry 🥺
I read an entire dear Fred fanfic in one night and I cried the whole time
I can't speak for anyone else but Freds' death just crushed me and I had to put the book down and take a breather.
@@Littlebit31
Sirius and Fred's deaths hurt. I cried writing this 😭😭💕
When James (or Oliver - I can't remember) had the scene dead in the great hall, fell asleep and only woke up when everyone else had gone to lunch.
it is james,he was fred. He just had to sleep and nobody woke him up
it was james who played fred, it was in rehearsal james said in a podcast
What's more sad is the scene in order of the phoenex when Mrs weasley was with the boggart even in death she couldn't imagine Fred and George separately
When I think of how George looks into the mirror of erised, I think of what dumbledore said. “The happiest man on earth can use the mirror and just see his reflection” an outsider seeing George’s happy joking exterior might think the same of him if they could see what he sees, just with 2 ears but it’s the complete opposite interpretation
When Fred died in the book I read it and couldn’t bring myself to keep reading
I’d love to imagine to this day you’ve just never read the end of deathly hallows XD
Fred and Doby were the hardest deaths for me.
Gred and Forge were an iconic duo. Change my mind.
EVERYONE DEALS WITH GRIEF IN THEIR OWN WAY! No, it’s not a “Who’s more hurt?” contest, it CAN’T be because no two people grieve in the same way....
I love it, the poem was heart touching the words was moving as well as Strong. GBU
I can't imagine that George would have been the same without Fred.
I'm not crying! You're crying! Talking about Fred's death is just...*wails*
The way I see it, Fred could’ve become a ghost so he and George could’ve stayed together.
Hi Dean! Haven't watched this but know it's gonna bring some tears 😪

And after George passes his kids could get a portrait of their father so they could be together again forever.
that one scene in goblet of fire where they both grew old for a moment, was the only time they would ever see each other old.
Every time I watch that scene, I cry a lot. George without Fred is unbelievable 😭😭😭
Aww that fanfic was written so sadly
"Separated by an inch of glass"
My question to you Potterfolklore is, did Harry ever tell George about the resurrection stone that he had discarded in the forbidden forest, and if so would George had gone to look for the stone so he could communicate with his deceased Twin brother?
Well Harry must tell him about it.
this might be a little late but there is a thing say after the battle. harry went to look for the stone for George but sadly disappointed when he couldn't find it
@@tahnealsimmons7133 WHY IS THAT SO SAD
@@silly_.rabbit2 i know it was very sad😭 the only reason he couldn't find it was because afterwards the centaurs trampled it into the ground on there way to the battle, making it impossible to find even though he searched for hours
@@tahnealsimmons7133 curse the centaurs (lol jk)
Bro george just took the sentence "i lost a part of me that day" to a whole new level 😔
Fun fact: after filming the scene where Fred died, James fell asleep on the floor and everyone went to get lunch. He woke up to find everyone eating
Fun fact: the part where George was crying at Fred's death, he was crying real tears because he visualized losing his twin brother in real life
Seriously though imagine having an identical twin who passed away and then having to look in the mirror knowing that the reflection could have been his twin..
It's hard to imagine George laughing without Fred
George is so strong, he didn't kill himself after Fred died...
Ive always found it disappointing that molly was the one that killed belatirix. I think it should have been nevil
Every time I think about Fred and George , my heart broke. They don't deserve to be separated.
Harry should’ve just given the resurrection stone to George then Fred can come back
Personally I don’t think that would be a good idea. Maybe if it was used only once for a bit of closure but not straight up given. It’s like the mirror of erised. George might’ve gone down a very bad road if he always had it and always seen Fred
I saw a comment once and it said:
A year after Fred’s death George looked into the Mirror of Erised and saw himself with both his ears. Discussed in himself he turned away only to realise it was Fred.
Fred's death was one of the saddest deaths in the Harry Potter series
I literally can't think of George without Fred. It was hardest for me to read Fred's death.
I can't say that I saw it coming but when Fred forgave Percy before the Battle at Hogwarts, yes I believe he forgave him, it did make me feel a little uneasy. I thought, 'Something bad is coming.'
It's comforting knowing that George got married and made a family
You forgot that George wasn’t able to do a Patronus charm ever again because of Fred’s death ☠️. J.K. I think 💭 said that once, if I remember correctly. 😉
Just started watching your videos.just really started getting into the Harry Potter lore always loved the movies. Great content keep up the work👍
Okaaaay first I’m surprised he didn’t become.
Did u know Fred and George weasly were born on the 1st of April that's why they love there pranks
Hey guys, did he release the Riddle animated story? I didnt know because I was hoping for it, but havent been up to date and didnt see it in the playlist. The graphic style looks so awesome.
I think Dean said he postponed the series for now
@@BBrunnel okay thanks for the update! Who's a good elf? You are! Yes you are!
Fred and George felt like one being living 2 lives. One cannot live without the other
Listen don’t get me wrong, but I mostly cry for George that is forced to live in a life without Fred, a life that is filled with grief because of his twin’s death, a death that he will never get over, for George, every mirror is the mirror of Erised, and although he still had a sense of humor, he will never be the troublemaker he was before, when Fred was right by his side, every single step of the way, although George may have moved on, Fred has a place in George's heart no one can ever replace, and ever since Fred died, there was a whole in George's heart that cannot be filled by anyone else, Fred's death left George a scar that cannot be healed, a mark or scar that burns deeper than anything, one that hurts more than any other scratch or booboo............
What if different time line rolls reverse George the one who dead and Fred was who lived?
i saw a theory that george actually died but fred missed him too much so fred pretended that he died and he pretended to be george
@@roxmorgan8152 that's so sad and so messed up
During lock down me and my partner watched all the films, and I said to my bf last night I can’t imagine how George felt losing the other him, then I come across this video 👍🏻 perfect timing thank you
This was a long ass movie yet they killed off Tonks, Lupin and Fred OFF SCREEN? OFF FREEKING SCREEN? And yeah yeah, we see a brief scene where fred gets disarmed by witch extra number 12, but screw that, show us it, that was the idea of the film right? They aint kids no more, shits dark!
anybody else watching this while crying
I still don’t like how they maid George marry Angelina. I’m pretty sure Fred and Angelina had a thing and maybe was even dating.
I've never liked that either.
Angelina got confysed
That made me feel creepy too. Because you know her and Fred at the least made out after ball.
They were teenagers and we don’t know how significant the relationship truly was. The only issue should be them (George and Angela) getting together based on trauma bonds as it’s not healthy, however other than that you’re thinking a lot into teenagers who messed around..
Love your video this is where I get my info
The one truly unnecessary death of the series.
Thank you for making me cry......
My goodness! Your channel is just awesome! I have being following it since November (already subscribed)
But,I have a doubt....in the Chamber Of Secrets, why did the Dursleys dint want Harry to escape?
I'm a Potterhead but can't get this point.
I think they just wanted to make him miserable. They had already found out he wasn't allowed to use magic out of school. Knew he would be punished if he did. Locking him up would make him try to escape on his own. They then made his life miserable. So he would just give up and try to escape. Which meant he would be expelled.
They didn't want him around but couldn't stand to see him happy at Hogwarts.
Didn't want him to go there in first place. If he didn't go he would be living there attending public school while Dudly was away at boarding school.
Excellent! Thank you for your kind explanation! 😃
For George every mirror is a mirror of erised
I've been waiting for this video for ages
I kinda imagine George having moments/years of looking toward his 'brother' just to realize he isn't there ... or pausing for Fred to finish his sentence just for it to be silent :(
Moll never lost a child up until that point, though...It’s a different pain.
I didn’t realise Freddo even died first. It didn’t sink in and I had to re read it. So heartbreaking..
The excerpt describing George and the mirror of Erised was so poignant and beautifully written...but you don't cite the author! Surely authors of fan fiction deserve full credit?
