Amen on that! A lot of our culture is trying to make everybody the same or put people in little pre-labeled boxes, and that's just not the reality of it. Everybody is different, and we should not expect everybody to be the same, and take some time and effort to get to know folks and their thoughts on things. A little care and consideration on that would make the world a better place. If everyone saw things exactly the same or just kept doing things the "way we've been doing it for 100s of years", we'd never come up with new ideas or improve the ones we currently have. All the differences give us the whole 3D puzzle instead of just one side of it.

So true, we do live in different realities. That seems so apparent now. Rather than argue against another person’s view of reality, it might be more productive to listen and try to understand a reality different from your own. And try to find ways to build community where you can. It isn’t easy but worth your time and effort. ❤️

I recently bought a used car from a couple. I had to sign an agreement accepting liability for anything during the test drive. Then more for bill of sale with terms like "there is no cooling off period." I could go on and on - the ad didn't have a blurred out license plate - but I noticed the last numbers were skillfully scrambled and they weren't the numbers I saw on the ad. This guys carful nature reminded me of the twins today and the wood splitter guy.

Ha! Yes indeed -- that was a good example of how distrust can be fostered by our culture. It was pretty cool to see that guy turn around in the end!

There are so many different worlds I think. And I think people tend to stay in their own little world with their own type by default. The where you live geographically world - landscape type stuff. The cultural worlds - different languages. The different classes and economic level. The different hobby world - skateboarders are a close community... Different religious worlds - and even within the same Christian churches - different churches attract different crowds. One comes to mind has a pastor straight out of jail with tattoos and does a lot of help with recovering addicts versus another that on the surface looks more 'clean' and has lots of families and kids.

So much in what you wrote -- and I especially appreciated the idea that appearances don't always correspond to our judgments =)

This rings very true. It reminds me of a time last winter/early spring when I was outside, sitting on a bed of cattails, counting on my hand using obscure names of numbers which are associated with, or bestowed by, the wind. And at a certain the names of the numbers seemed to resonate out; the very air grew very thick, and the stars and mountains pressed in all around. I could feel them seeming to enter into the world created by the speaking of those names; the bubble-like consistency of this name-world swelled, though space did not have anything to do with it; and the valley strained to hear the obscure names.
I know this sounds completely incomprehensible. I live in a different world! 😜
Or two worlds. One of which is the world described above, the other is one full of illusion and sickness. I try to always inhabit the former because it is more pleasant and I can think more clearly. It is a world where everything gleams with divinity, even in the darkest depths. The latter is almost forced upon me much of the time because it is a child of the world culturally construed by other people, because I haven’t yet fully developed my perceptions or learned the knowledges by which to resolve the contradictions which keep pulling me there. I can say I know and understand much more than I did though.
I think we can also make our way partly into other worlds, travel through worlds, or dissolve the boundaries. Sometimes when we focus intensely on the presence of another being we can have a sense of part of their consciousness, especially sensation, making its way over to ours. I don’t know too much about this because I haven’t practiced it enough, but perhaps it could be taken further. And then there are times when we might feel that our world bubble has popped open, and we are immersed in absolute truth.
There is more that could be said but I will leave it at that…

I believe I understand. I often feel the pull between two similar worlds. One is magical, bright, and everything is alive. The other, the one I was taught long ago, is mechanical and not so fun. Every day I hope to move more into the one than the other =)

    Kenton,
One of the 'things' You so adequately describe in this talk -- kind of, 'in between the lines' of Your talking points -- is that :
People..., and Their "perceptions", based pretty nearly entirely on Their experiences in the Whorl', actually DO, in a very real Way..., cre-ATE the Whorl' in which They Live.
And You, being One that Naturally takes responsibilty for the things You can improve upon, search out the particular 'exercises' that build, or enCourage the opportunities to alter One's Whorl'-view, by WILLING and then 'practicing' behaviors that have the Natural consequences of..., establishing 'new' Ways of seeing the Whorl', and thereby... "Present"-ing YourSelf with, a more pleasing Whorl'. For You an' fer Others.
    Sweet!
    🙂

When We Free an' strengthen Our minds -- better to say, IF We Free an' strengthen Our minds! -- Our Bodys will (Naturally!) follow.
An' the 'flip-side' of course is :
If We won't (Will not) Free Our minds, Our Bodys will (Naturally!) continue in..., a "state" of en-slavement.
      🙂

My mom had a few different jobs in her day. She was an elementary school teacher and compared it to working in a dentist office. She enjoyed both but said she really enjoyed the variety of people at the dentist office - all walks of life came through. She could interact briefly with all sorts of people from different worlds. A variety of demographics compared to just 25 six year olds. I think also as a teacher with 25 different kids at once its difficult to interact much one on one and see the different personalities when you are giving them all a one size fits all education.

Goodness! I ran some kids' camps this summer -- just over 10 kids. And that was a handful! I can't imagine trying to keep 25 on track!!!

It goes to show how different people actually are. You can take identical twins, growing up in the same house and going to the same school and all that, and though sharing a lot of the same life experiences, could have vastly different world views or their personalities shape different mindsets on how they consider the world around them.
I find it's really important to remember this when having in-depth and possibly controversial conversations with people. Regionally, politically, spiritually and just the general view of the world and different groups within it can vary greatly, and though we may encounter a similar world, the perception could be very different. If you really want to speak with somebody on a subject or just get to know them, it's good to ask questions and let them tell you where THEY come from, so you can better get a feel and understanding of who they are, and honestly... it would help break a lot of the hate in our culture, because often, even if you don't agree with someone, how they live/see life, etc., if you hear their story, it really makes you understand and respect their side of things. It may seem ironic, but I've also found that if you learn about someone very different than yourself, you might accidentally learn something about yourself and your own personality/world view that you didn't realize was "a thing". Learning and understanding each other I feel is a good thing, and it helps us understand worlds we may not have a "spaceship" to go visit. I think of it akin to what I like to call taking Google Maps vacations, where you just play around in street view and see neat things... they are places I may never travel, but just seeing what it looks like, you get a certain feel of the culture in that place. I never hear a lot of back sounds in your vids, so I'm in the camp that it's SUPER quiet there hehe.

@9:08 today one lady in lake tahoe said to the twins, "i'd like to meet your moms and share a bottle of wine with her" - she really did want to see into the twins world. Who raised them? How did they come up with such an usual adventure?

You talk about worlds. I remember going to a high school marching band competition my son was in and being blown away. Scores of different schools, many (including ours) were from out of state, and some with way over a hundred members. I started to imagine the hundreds of thousands of dollars (more likely millions) in uniforms, instruments and lessons. I began to call encounters worlds-of-their- own. Here was this happening I had no idea was taking place. They're all over if you look for them.

You only have to down tools, step away from your computer and spend some time in the countryside to see that your world is only a construct that you've made.
