I don’t drink much, but my brother who is in AA told me to listen to this. Bob and his way of outlining how when he feels bad he feeds the beast of outside validation and making himself feel good by bad things and putting others down does not work. Had up that’s me. Thanks for sharing Bob and helping this non-alcoholic seeing the light and explaining how people like “us” think

I first started listening to AA tapes /talks about 3 years ago. I didn’t care the topic(Lord knows I need them all) it was their voice the tempo , timbre of their speech that I needed to ‘hook’ me. After the First talk, I played a second and that’s all it took! 💥 HOOKED! Lol I played the same few tapes over before bed just to be lulled by his magic voice! Today the topics just get better and better, THANKS AA. Bob, you kept me coming back! you were the first speaker I wanted to repeat or tried to play again. Jus Sayin....

“I had Climbed up on the throne of judgement playing God in the state of separation. Between me and you.” This is the most important thing. We humans need to stop creating separation between us. Alcoholics anonymous is the first program to give us a process to get closer to God and eliminate the illusion that we are separate from God.

Bob has done sober research. The awareness is tremendous. Most are uncomfortable going to the depths he has! If you dont let the car own you or put on a nice outfit for the day its ok, I saw Bob speak in a lazy blue collar town west of chicago, he showed up in a tailored suit. Circuit Speaker ego was what allot of people thought of him, I see he is aware of himself. AA can be a room full of hypocrites as long as we are not all sick on the same day! Bob is a great speaker helping others wake up

Im on day 2. I've been in and out for 13 years. Treatment more times than I can count. Somehow, I am at the top of my career right now but at constant conflict with others at work and at risk of being fired because im restless, irritable and disconented. When I was stuck in treatment all i could think about was get the job back, get my family back, the girl, the money, the new car, none of it works. I dont even know how to stop managing my own life. These tapes are the only thing that give me an inclining of hope. I keep praying God will relieve me of the bondage of self because I'm so exhausted of self.

I have always struggled with anger , resentments, and unforgiveness. I have been working on it with a therapist and 12 step sponsor, and it is getting better. I was told that resentments only hurt you, not the wrongdoers. I had to write down my resentments and how they affected me to see the damage to motivate me to let go. I also had to write down my part in the resentments so I could see where i was in the wrong, make amends, change behaviors, build my character and reconcile relationships if appropriate. Obviously there are some situations you don't play a part like if you were abused. I really get into psychology and human behavior so I like to understand why people act how they do for example mental illness. It helps to have compassion on them and to wish them well. This is NOT justifying or condoning it just helps to understand, have compassion, and wish them well. Its also not good to get revenge, not only because of consequence but they will get their karma and there will be justice. If it motivates them to change and make anends be happy for them.

As someone from India, where English is spoken by many but often with varied accents, it's refreshing to come across a speaker whose message is accessible to non-native speakers and Listener
I am deeply grateful for the effort you put into speaking slowly and using simple vocabulary. Your structured presentation and straightforward sentences made the content easy to follow, ensuring that I and others like me could fully grasp the important messages being shared.
Thank you for recognizing the diverse audience on platforms like UA-cam and for making your insights accessible to people across the globe. Your approach not only helps to convey your message effectively but also ensures it reaches and benefits a wider audience.

Talking about not be proud of our past. I can relate to that too. I looked up the antonym of pride and I thought it was humility. I was wrong. It is shame which I have so much. Ashamed who I am. Yes I have to work on my character defects. I have pride, shame ,envy, jealousy, resentment, greed although I personally do not have much etc etc

Depression ( the one he is speaking of) comes from thinking about myself too much. SELF is the problem. If I am in conflict with people who aren't related and/or don't know me then I'M the problem 🙃.
