Ty so much 4 ur video! I used 2 tsps baking soda, 1 tsp dawn dish soap 1 tsp vegetable oil 1 litter of water I mix all & applied all over plant every other day 4 several times. Prayed in Jesus' name over it & It Worked awesome 😂
My plant didn't had any pests but the problem continued. I poured some banana peel water in soil just once and fed the soil with crushed eggshells. None of the buds have ever fell again. Even the ones that had marks from where they would drop, they continued to bloom.
I live in the UK and grow my hibiscus in pots. They live outdoors from May to September and indoors for October to April when the cold would kill them. They seem to drop their buds more when indoors. They have no visible pests. I suspect the indoor atmosphere is too dry for them even though I keep them well watered.
This is the problem I'm having with my 2 Hibiscus plants that were planted in ground at least 2 years ago. It began happening just a few months after I bought them from Lowes. I've tried watering them less, watering them more, fertilizers, pesticides, literally everything. And for the last 6 months or so it seems like they stopped growing completely. I'm thinking about just digging them up and throwing them away. But I've never heard about this approach, so I'll try it w shampoo, I don't have that powder detergent. I know this is an old video for u, but thanks for the tip anyway!😊
Lots of great info here. You are very fortunate to be able to grow hibiscus outdoors. I had one 20 years ago that I would have to haul in and out of the house for the summer. The changes in temperature and humidity is hard on hibiscus.
Buds dropping before flowering can also be due to a bowl of fresh fruit too close to your plant (goes for all blooming plants) , because fruit releases ethylene gas that acts is a ripening hormone, Do not ever buy flowers in buds that was placed next to the fruit in the supermarket. Outside ethylene gases are less likely to interfere, however in a restricted space with low wind, a flower bed full of rotting leaves, can still cause problems. Keep fruit away from plants about to bloom, and keep pots and flower beds free from rotting leaves or spent flowers. Also remember to always deadhead the spent flowers, because ripening seeds inside the old flowers release a stop hormone for flowering. The more old spent flowers on the plant, the stronger hormone release and stop of flowering. In nature this is smart for reproduction, but as we want more flowers and no seeds, we must remove the seed pods quickly.
This is aphids or midge. They lay eggs inside the bud, eggs become tiny worms that eat bud from inside out. Cut one open with a razor you will see. Best way to treat is systematically. The soap spray helps deter bugs but in most cases the eggs are already inside.

Hi Swati, Rose of sharon also belongs to Hibiscus family. As my buds are turning yellow and are not blooming. And falling down. Originally last year flowers were of white and purple color. Should I treat the same solution like you did in this video. With best regards, Inder From toronto
I used ivory dishwashing liquid. One teaspoon for one spraying bottle. Spray the plants when the sun goes down and mist them off in the morning. Works very well with all plants. Ivory is water based.
I bought a hibiscus for my mom earlier this week and it's already making problems. flowers and leaves turn yellow and are falling off. The plant is watered and it was fine before I brought it in. I didn't see any mites or anything. It's been like 3-4 days since I bought it. I thought it's because I placed it next to a radiator, now I moved it elsewhere. It's watered and never went dry. I put some fertilizer too. Maybe it's the fertilizer that caused it?
Hello. I hope you are well. Can you plz tell me wht is the difference between desi and english/hybrid hibiscus ?? Also do english/hybrid hibiscus bloom throughout the summers or they just bloom till April? ? Plz answer
Desi hibiscus has relatively small blooms but they bloom more in numbers.it comes in red, white, pink colors(as per my knowledge) while hybrid hibiscus flowers are bigger in size as well as they come in many colors and their leaf size is also big. They both bloom round the year, atleast all the varieties that I have, they bloom round the year
Need help!! Yeahh same problem with my hibiscus also...but the pests are not in white colour...there are black pests on the whole flower and buds...does it works well with that problem also...?

Plants need each and every nutrients, but we don’t need to put so many things, just add compost once in 5-6 months and regular watering will do the magic.
I need help! I don’t have pests on my hibsicus, but all the buds fell. I water it consistently, making sure that the soil never gets too dry, without leaving the plant soaking wet. Is it because it doesn’t get enough sun? It is a small tree in my living room. I live an apartment with all the windows facing north-west. Ever since I bought the hibiscus about two weeks ago, it’s been dark and grey, and I’ve been wondering if that could be the reason., coupled with the stress of moving from the greenhouse where I bought it to home.
When I checked one of the blooms of my hibiscus, I saw a little hole right on the petal section. I'm so worried that it will fall on the ground before it will open... I think, there's an insect that eats the flower budds...
That's bud borer😞 it punctures the buds and eventually 80-90% of your buds would turn yellow and fall off..! Neem oil and chloropyrifos in very diluted form will work. Ask shopkeeper for the concentration, s/he'll help you out.
It has always worked for me...I never used any chemical to get rid of these bugs. Maybe there is some other issue with your plant, please examine. Make sure you don't overwater your plant because over watering causes this.
