All quirky and fun stuff on the periphery and then smack dab in the middle of the room is a big black hole. Infact, the first thing we notice when she opens and closes the main door is a big black hole. No wonder her designs are so light and clean. When you can't control the darkness inside, you usually try to fix it on the outside. Even the black hole at first looks like a simple, non complicated piece before you realize how its right in the centre.

Definitely was. She put up with his excessive drinking & cheating for years on end! That, and unaddressed PSTD from her childhood. Family shame and ignorance prevented her from getting the appropriate help. She had an "image" to uphold (in her and her family's mind). Sad, as she really loved him... more than she should have!
Yes maybe she does have a lot of things in her apartment a total cluttered space but I try to turn this in a positive way. Every true artist who enjoy designing new things and have passion for it always put there love in to it designing it and especially there time as she does I think she make a very sophisticated and elegant piece of art and always make us happy with it.

I liked Kate looked like me. She is so relatable. She has allowed herself to age and mixed and curated family and art. I'm fortunate enough to marry an artist. We are middle class. We curated a similar look by trading with artists, me with a keen eye for dumpster diving.

It was a chic modern abstract focal piece. Kinda fab actually and the first thing I noticed. Juxtaposed quite nicely above the antique fireplace. She was a design genius. Her home was warm, artistic, eclectic and a beautiful mix of modern and antique like some of the best European homes. I lover her salon style of hanging art. We will never really know what happened. But yes clearly she was heart broken and distraught from the breakup of her marriage. May she rest in peace.

Money, possesions, fame, and a daughter didn't bring her the peace of mind I'm sure she yearned for. She must've had so much inner fears and pain and desperation to do this. Very sad. I truly hope if there's a god that she asked to be forgiven and that her soul is in a safe, peaceful place. Strength and peaceful thoughts sent to her daughter.

So sad, that "black hole" in the center of the living room. Bright colors, beautiful beach and woods landscapes cheer me up better. Love the fact that she had her daughter's art and notes about, that was the one bright spot.
This is what true Class & Money looks like. Her & Andy are artist. Artist always have eclectic tastes. ALL Doctors, Artist, Theature, professors, designers, lobbyist, Actors & Actresses, models, multi-Millionaires homes are filled with eclectic art & antiques like this! She find meanings in things & doesn't just "stage" her house. If you ever see her layouts, ads & Graphic art it's ALWAYS filled with stuff from her collections (Jewelry, tapestry, vintage paper & textiles). She collects stuff from all over the world to inspire her collections, portfolio, editorials & her fashion shows.
It just goes to show depression doesn’t care if you’re successful, rich, popular. It doesn’t matter if you’re the richest or the poorest person. Desperation is a REAL!!!! My Uncle took his life due to depression. People need to stop focusing on she had everything she should be happy. Desperation is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

Amy M. They’re drugs, but not all drugs work so they’re useless. 🙄I take antidepressants and I still have my bad days. So, medicine doesn’t make depression pooof gone it just lowers your moods.
It's not a "Chemical Imbalance". There is no test for that because it simply is a made up term used specifically so that they can prescribe dangerous drugs...Depression is situational, no matter what that "Situation" is.
@@Valkonnen WRONG!! there is reactive depression - also chronic which is physically-based and treated through nutrition and always check your thyroid function... people can also become depressed due to negative entity attachments..

I thought about her, today as soon it’s going to be two years that she’s gone already. I think her interior reflects everything from her and him and there’s nothing wrong with having something that might seem sad to some. Happiness, sadness are all part of the life and having a mixture of both display in the house is not bad. RIP and I hope Andy and Bea are also in a good place now.

All quirky and fun stuff on the periphery and then smack dab in the middle of the room is a big black hole. Infact, the first thing we notice when she opens and closes the main door is a big black hole. No wonder her designs are so light and clean. When you can't control the darkness inside, you usually try to fix it on the outside. Even the black hole at first looks like a simple, non complicated piece before you realize how its right in the centre.
I love Kate spade stuff. I have a few purses. Im sad she passed away. Her dark art work is a sign to me that she wasnt doing too well. A black hole in the livingroom is really dark.

I watched this last week then I woke up the next day n heard that she was gone. I hated her space, I thought it was cluttered n confused so now I've returned for a second look n I realize that it truly did tell you who she was. RIP beautiful lady. 🌹🌹🌹

Definitely was. She put up with his excessive drinking & cheating for years on end! That, and unaddressed PSTD from her childhood. Family shame and ignorance prevented her from getting the appropriate help. She had an "image" to uphold (in her and her family's mind). Sad, as she really loved him... more than she should have!

Yes maybe she does have a lot of things in her apartment a total cluttered space but I try to turn this in a positive way. Every true artist who enjoy designing new things and have passion for it always put there love in to it designing it and especially there time as she does I think she make a very sophisticated and elegant piece of art and always make us happy with it.

I liked Kate looked like me. She is so relatable. She has allowed herself to age and mixed and curated family and art. I'm fortunate enough to marry an artist. We are middle class. We curated a similar look by trading with artists, me with a keen eye for dumpster diving.

Dang that black hole could've been an indication of how she was. Everything is very cute, and colorful but you have this huge black circle sticking out....? A little of out the norm. If it was all black and dark art that would make a little more sense. My prayers for strength during this difficult time.

Beautiful home and art collection! The black round painting or "black hole" negative commenters keep referring to I think has nothing to do with her depression. It was a chic modern abstract focal piece. Kinda fab actually and the first thing I noticed. Juxtaposed quite nicely above the antique fireplace. She was a design genius. Her home was warm, artistic, eclectic and a beautiful mix of modern and antique like some of the best European homes. I lover her salon style of hanging art. We will never really know what happened. But yes clearly she was heart broken and distraught from the breakup of her marriage. May she rest in peace.
