- Опубліковано 28 чер 2024
- Anna is about to take on one of the toughest races she’s ever run.
There are just a few weeks of training left until she takes on 100 kilometres through the Lake District, and so she’s come up to Glenridding to recce one of the toughest sections of the route.
Whether you’re training for an ultra, intrigued about longer mountain races or just like mountain scenery, keep watching!

Just keep moving!
You can do it planned to do a 75k 4100+ in November in Taiwan 🇹🇼 but unfortunately it looks like I will have to go back to Germany end of October. Still doing the training plan. Though. Hang in there and good luck running 60-90k 5:39 a week is quite tough and takes a significant amount of time
Amazing ! What an awesome goal to set yourself. Best of luck Anna, you’ll smash it ! 😀
@@TomsRunningAdventuresI don’t know what your problem is, but I’m guessing it’s hard to pronounce.
Anna, I think you’re a great ad for the Running Channel! Good Luck!
Such an inspiration. I saw her run 115 miles few months back for Christmas. Now she is back with a 100K ultra marathon, truly an inspiration to the entire running community. She will absolutely nail this run.
1. Anna rules. Such an inspiration!
2. Shout out to the TRC team for the editing and cinematography! So good!
Thank you!
Anna you're such an inspiration! Thanks to the Running channel I started running ultra races and I am currently training for Kullamannen 100K in November. Thank you for all the amazing videos and good luck Anna!
Really glad we've been able to be a part of your running journey ☺ Good luck for Kullamannen! How is your training going?
@@runningchannel thank you! 🥰 feeling the like I’m in the best shape of my life 💪🏻
Love you Anna, you made me believe I could run a marathon and you also make me believe I can do an ultra, going to sign up for one next year. ❤
It was Anna's Tribe Run for Love series that made me want to do Ultras, and I plan to start training in 2024. And I'm hoping to do Tribe myself one day. Anna, you're still my favorite presenter!
Currently training to take it from doing a 5k to 10k. Did my first "long" run this weekend (7.5k) and discovered a beautiful trail in the woods. It was so magical! That's why I love trail running and I hope I'll be able to do more trailruns in the future!
Haven't commented in a while but I just have to here. The Lake District is just about my favorite place in the World and Anna is one of my greatest inspirations to run in the World. Coming back from a bike crash slowly but stuff like this gets me fired up. Cheers girl from North Carolina
First half is in 2 weeks because of you guys! Anna the OG so jealous that race will be beautiful enjoy it!!
Always love Anna's videos ❤ so relatable
Anna is such an inspiration. Would love to have her as a training partner, could learn soo much.
I have been inspired by your past videos as I continued my own running journey. I have a 100-mile race coming up in less than 2 months time.
Best of luck!
I wish this was a longer video. I enjoy your videos about ultras. Please do more of them. Longer and more detailed please. You are the best. Amo relatable.
"Why do you run such hilly trails?" I get asked.
Easy, the down hill!
Awesome video. That's why I do ultra and trail races. South Cannum 40 mile, Race to the King and Race to the Stones booked in for next year.
Dear Anna, fantastic effort! And you briefly pointed out something that I think is very important and kind of special about trail running and the trail running community as such: it IS for everyone. Everyone is welcome, regardless of where they are on their own running journey, it is inherently non-elitist, helpful and even during races there is more of a spirit of "being in this together" than racing against someone. I do believe a large amount of that attitude and atmosphere comes from mainly two things, (a) the lack of ridiculous amounts of prize money, which really helps to keep the kind of people away who have no interest in trail running beyond money and "beating everyone else" and (b) wholesome people like you, who celebrate the true spirit of trail running. Best of luck for your race!
I was thinking the other day that I hadn’t seen you on here for a while.. glad you’re still part of the TRC challenges.. sounds like an interesting run you’ve picked, you’ve never picked easy.
Love the lakes, I’ve done a few mountain marathons in Snowdon, but not managed a Lakes marathon yet, only a few long halves that have been fun.. wish I lived closer to get there for visiting and training. Have a few ultras on the south coast and Wales early next year, but think I wanna do the lap as my first Lakes ultra 🤔 but I’ll have see what my achy ankle is gonna allow me to do.🤞🏼
Good luck with your training!
Love Anna videos epic runner and my ultra journeys will be next year😅
Going Down is my Reward for going up. :) I lovvveeeee going down hill ...FAST!
I am aiming to do a 50k this upcoming spring. This will be my 2nd one. At age 56 I am trying to encourage my grandchildren that anything is possible. Dream be. You can do this Anna
I’m running this race and can’t wait looks like it’s going to be an adventure
Good luck Peter! 😁 How are you feeling about it?
@@runningchannel feeling good, excited!, training has been going well, nav is not my strong point but I’ll be using my Garmin and I’ve been studying the map/ route let’s hope we all have a good race 😁
So inspiring! I can't even fantom the distance just yet, but if I've learned anything in training so far, it's that our bodies are capable of so much more than we think - it's just about putting in the time to train. So who knows? Maybe one day? Good luck with the race, Anna! Have fun!
Anna is the original OG ! You've got this Anna!!!
Lovely to see you back Anna, you’re missed! I was to do my first Ultra in July with the Serpents trail 50km but I got COVID 2 days before. I was gutted so am looking for my next Ultra race now. Best of Luck with your race🤗🤗🤗
Hotel Babybels are the best! Not a big fan of that cheese at home but peeling one of those on a trip sparks a little bit of travel joy 😊 Looking forward to the final event video, go Anna!
Lovely day out. After Race to Stones weekender this year I have just booked the Shropshire Way 80k in April next year - can’t wait!
Awesome video! I'm doing my longest run to date this weekend: 15k trail race. Then, doing a version of a backyard ultra for the first time 3 weeks later. 😊
As a beginner runner, I love this channel ❤️
So glad to hear that! ❤️
Planned in the Rasselbloc race in January and some marathons to test before Race to the Stones in July 24
You'll smash it Anna!
Got my first Ultra on Sunday - Gritstone Grind. A 'shorty' at 55km and only 1600m ascent. Should eb fun - running with friends from my local club!
Nice one! Go well and have fun 👍
Well done Anna! Really great to see you doing a huge run again. You’re going to smash it!!
One of our favorite people on The Running Channel...more videos from Anna!!! Cheering you on from the US (South Carolina)
Go Anna! Loving seeing you back on the channel more :-) your spirit brightens my day. Cheers!
Inspirational Anna and great vid. As a Cumbrian lad myself(Keswick),it’s making me homesick for the lakes, I’ve been in Australia for nearly 20 years.
Good luck Anna. I’m sure you’ll be fab. I’ve signed up for my first 33 mile ultra in January, the Hardmoors 30, and then the Hardwolds 40 (actually 47miles) in June. I’m really nervous but hoping I manage it 🤞🙉
Love watching your challenges. I love the idea of ultras and trail running, but I’m training for a half marathon at the moment and I’m finding that tough enough!
Plus it’s all the time involved.
Looking forward to seeing the video on the actual run. Thanks Anna for sharing your journey. You are so cheery and relatable ❤
Thank you for giving us more of an insight into The Training Block of Joy 😊 quite interested in this race now; it’s on my list x
Good to see you back 👍👍👍
So beautiful! Anna, wishing you all the best on this adventure, but I know you’ll smash it!
Doing my first 50km race this weekend. I hope the training has paid off :)
I've been looking forward to hearing about Anna's ultra! What a beautiful place for it! Am excited to see the next episode, whether it's 2nd training video or the race itself
Love love love an Anna video! Your progress has been phenomenal Anna!
Thanks! That’s really kind 😊
Always great to see you on here Anna. You inspired me to do my first ever Ultra, which I did in 2022. It was The Big Bear Cannock 50k, which I did again this this year and noticed you wear there also. Best of luck for this Ultra, I hope it all goes well.
Best of luck! I’m running the 100k Thames Path Ultra next weekend. First ultra and cannot wait.
Good luck!
Anna, you are a wonderful inspiration! I’m so happy I chanced upon this video.
Anna you are EVERYTHING! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Best of luck on your Ultra. I have two within two weeks of each other in Spain - Trail Pueblos Blancos is 58km with 2,850M elevation and then two weeks after La Desertica which is organsied by the Spanish Foreign Legion and is 72km with just under 2,000 elevation partly through the desert in Almeria. Recovery will be key inbetween the races.
This is the ultra I'm doing as my longest yet! So lovely to see I'm in good company! I've managed to recce most of it now (just the back end of the Ambleside loop I need to recce now 😬). Great route - will see you out there!
Best of luck - you'll smash it!
Anna your enthusiasm and determination is inspiring!
love watching your story and following all your challenges
This looks so beautiful, good luck with your training and for the race of course! I'd love to do a 50k race next year, but as of yet the furthest I've run is a half marathon (two this year actually), so I'll be doing a 30k trail run next week and try to build up to the marathon distance and then sign up and train for a 50k trail race sometime next year.
You're awesome, Anna! Love watching your running adventures. You got this :D
Great video, Anna!!🎉 I swear, I started to think more seriously of doing some trails🤩 quite inspiring, indeed, thank youuuu😍😍
what a beautiful place to run/walk. I'm currently working on improving my fitness up to 10k, and then plan on getting to half marathon, I love the idea of an ultra but it feels so far above my current ability. I look forward to seeing/hearing how the ultra goes! You're absolutely smashing it
This is amazing!! Love it Anna! You are such an inspiration!!! 🎉😊❤
Thank you 🙏🏼
Anna, I love seeing all of your ultra adventures! I tried my first trail race last year, and although it was really fun, running at night and having to wade through a river up to my knees was not the best experience. I will be trying other trail races as soon as I can find one that is a bit less adventurous.
Yikes! Yeh, I have a feeling this one might look a little like that too 😬
You'll be amazing as always Anna, go and smash it! I'm doing Glasgow to Edinburgh Ultra in October which is 56miles basically along canals. Looking forward to it!
The scenery is absolutely stunning. Good luck and enjoy!
Amazing stuff Anna, can't wait for the next instalment! I did The Lap earlier this year in the Lakes as my first ultra and caught the ultra bug! Followed it up with the Serpent Trail 50km and now have SDW50 and Run to the Stones 100km booked in for next year!
Very inspirational! Good luck for the run and it looks beautiful there
Doing Tarawera 100 miler in Feb My first miler for my 50th birthday
Can't wait!!
Good luck Anna! I'm taking a bit of a break from ultras to focus on half marathons and a marathon for the next 6 months, but I'll be back in that beautiful community one day
What races have you got coming up? 😁
@@runningchannel The Hedgehog Half at Normanby Hall this autumn, building towards the Yeovil Half and Manchester Marathon in spring - probably some other fun thrown in along the way!
I actually saw you in Keswick when you were in the Lakes filming this and was excited to see what you were up to! I was doing same thing, running the hills, although not training for an ultra, YET. But Anna, you are such an inspiration and I can't wait to see how your race goes. Amazing effort and thank you for all the advice! You're going to do amazing!
Having a go at the Ladybower 50k next month, been injured for the last couple of months so hoping to just get round it and more importantly ENJOY IT 😁😁
I love the lakes, i did a 10k run earlier this year at the Keswick mountain festival and I’m going back next year to do a 16k for lakeland trails
Let's GO Anna! Looking forward to up coming content and best of luck. 😊 🏃
I saw your podcast interview (ultrarunning Sam channel ) very interesting and so happy your still taking the time share your racing journey and races.
Keep up the great content and inspiring other to keep on running and staying healthy 😊
Good luck Anna. Really enjoy following your running journey - a great inspiration and role model! ❤
Looks awesome! Very inspirational, Anna 😃, as always. I love your videos. Good luck with your run. Wish to have such beautiful area here. I am a bit jealous 😃
Keep on going Anna, you're AWSOME!!! I am finishing off my 3 ultras this year with a 50k in the Lake District, no comparison with yours! I have said this before, but you really are my inspiration!
Amazing! How are your ultras going?
100k Race to the Stones done (16hours 30), The big School Run 12hr endurance done (75k in 10 hours) Next up the Brathay Trust Ambleside 50k (mega elevations!!!) Huge amount of respect for Anna. If I get to be half as good as she is then I will be a happy person. ANNA ROCKS!! @@runningchannel
Anna is badass, great video!!
I'm doing the Great North Run next week then i plan to do my first 50km ultra (RTTS). running with muscular dystrophy brings it's own sets of challenges. Well done Anna!! Love this
I’ve been so inspired by your ultra videos and can’t wait to do one one day. I’m currently planning to take on my first trail race next spring, just need to find a beginner friendly 10k/half marathon one 😊
Love your videos Anna! Hope the rest of your training goes well… 😊
105km! Way to go Anna!
I will be doing a 25km trail race in Nov and a 50ish km trail race in Dec. Both are my 2nd tries. They are very much inspired by fellow runners like yourself.
Very tempting to go for a 100km race in 2024. Now you set me thinking about it even more!
Anna missed the videos…all the best with your training/race 👍👍👍
Anna you are amazing! Had to abandon plans for my first ultra this year due to injury, BUT, did book a place at Loch Ness Marathon inspired by your video. Cannot wait! Then back to ultra planning for 2024!
Good luck, Anna! I ran the Lakeland Trails 55km in July around the same area you were training in and the hills were no joke.
Lovely music! Always nice to see Anna🤗
Awesome vid Anna. Getting me psyched for my first ultra. Attempting the Lyke Wake Walk solo 67.5km. Not had much training the last 2 weeks due to illness. Hoping my previous training has worked.
Well done. Great video. Great that you mention that ultras can be for everyone 🤗
Quite inspirational, and beautifully filmed as well. Well done, Anna.
Thank you ☺️ Rachel, who filmed with me, is a very talented videographer ❤
i'm on this ultra too! caught up with you on training weekend a few months ago. cant wait for the event! really enjoyed the recces too, what a beautiful route!! nice to see that section in the daylight as prob wont be on the day....at least not for me anyway!! 😅 glad trainings gone well! see you out there 🗻👍
More videos with Anna please! You are my favourite, good luck!
Stunning scenery!
Missed seeing your videos Anna. It’s soooo beautiful where you were I can see why your doing more trails now. Good luck with the rest of your training and the ultra. I’m still on very short distances, but even a 10 k would sound good in that place.
Anna, glad to see you, good luck!
Anna! Good luck! You’re going to be amazing!
Great video Anna! You got this girl! Runna App is great - I'm about to start their 16 week programme as I train for Old Ghost Ultra here in NZL. Keep up the excellent training and looking forward to more video updates xx
bloody love you Anna and love the Lakes too (annual holidays twice a year for the last 18 years!) :) I'll be back up there next Wed for some more hill walking but first, my biggest challenge to date: The RIDUM 50km this Sat... bricking it but know i'll have a lovely day out in the Welsh trails no matter how long it takes me... :)
You are pretty fantastic Anna! And awesome to see you in your element, enjoying it and being so mindful with your running. It’s a super healthy example to set. I don’t share your love of trails though, I am just your average marathon roadrunner trying to get quicker - each to their own, goes to show how diverse running can be!
Hi Anna. Not a race of any real sort, but I'm on a personal 10 000 km challenge for the year on a turbo trainer (actually two, one in work, one at home) and watching videos like this gives me so much more motivation. Tomorrow, I go through 8 000 km on the trainer since the start of the year (at 180 watts)! Best of luck with this event, sounds ace (but my hip would never survive!!). Best wishes, Chris
Wow! Good for you!!!
Anna you are inspiration! Can't wait more videos on your 100K ultra Marathon. 🥰💚💛 Beautiful Views..
🏔️ ✔️
Awesome! And an amazing place to be running, The Lakes is such an unreal place!
I def wana do an ultra next year!
Your smile is infectious! Best of luck Anna
Not this year, but am running my first 100k next July (RTTS). Really looking forward to it! Always enjoy watching The Running Channel content and good luck with the 7 Valleys Anna
Wow, more power to you 🎉
Love seeing Anna on the trails and seeing more trail running on the channel. Good luck for the upcoming 100km+. 👊🏻
Aren’t they just beautiful?!
@@anna.the.runner I agree. The Lakes have so many beautiful trails to explore and enjoy 😌
Running a local trail marathon on Sunday 3rd Sept and then the North Coast Devon 110km in October
A couple of years ago when I started running and realized I prefer distance to speed, I set a lofty goal of running a 60k in the year I turned 60. I did a marathon last year and then fell out of running oomph. But just today I've decided to renew my goal and have spent a few hours today trying to decide how to train for my 60k in 2024. Your video is perfect timing!
Lovely to see you back Anna! I’m doing my first ultra in November with two friends - also ultra newbies. A 5k lapped course over 6 hours. Then London to Brighton 100k next May. Eek! Should’ve been doing Thames path 100k next weekend but injury after Leeds marathon meant I’ve had to defer it
