Looking great Paul, your a real talented artist with the PE parts, my relationship with those is always bad, had some success with my latest project though, not full success but some nice success regardless. Your base is looking great, you look at the work done and you can see how real and effective the waves appear, you've done the USS Hornet proud. I know what you mean about the prices for such large vessels like my own, but like you said the 1/350 scale always turns out great vessels, the Revell Bismarck or Tirpitz is always beautiful to have, the non deluxe versions are cheap for what they are, it's just a suggestion if you fancy some legendary ships in the future. Looking great is the USS Hornet, you've done a great job with her, fantastic work. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and happy modelling mate 👍
Hiya Paul, watching Ron Calvery each day and now yourself with this build, I actually fancy building one of these kits. I appreciate they take up space though so need to think hard.. Looks amazing and the detail is great.. All the best, Chris
Thanks Chris appreciated. Should have a go. The aircraft carrier in smaller scale maybe .Am just getting my head around how to go about building them. And the pe is just a learning curve and can be hit or miss you get it right. But when you do, it gives you a satisfaction. Stay safe and happy modelling.
Paul, the railings on the island look really good (very realistic) I'll look for photos of the railing installations to send to you, but I can't guarantee that my search will be successful. What you may wish to consider is getting enough more B-25s, to model a complete deck-load just prior to the launch for the Tokyo raid. Take care and stay well. (Just had a week of enforced off-time due to a serious illness I picked up from the students at school, which I know you and Sue know all about.)
Thanks Tron appreciated, Sorry to here you have been unwell hope your feeling better now .Yes school children am still not fully over the virus I had at Xmas. Good idea on the b25 shall have a look, mean time stay safe and have a great week 👍
Very impressive Paul. You have certainly mastered PE! I’m not surprised that you are pleased with the finished model…you should be! Where do you display all your models as this one on a base will be huge!?
Thanks David appreciated. What I shall do is take it off the dio, After I took some photos. I am running out of shalve space so normally something else goes. But I do tend to keep my ships.
Looking good Paul , how about one of the Royal Navy Monitors from the Great War or World War Two from Trumpeter one big turret for shore bombardment or trumpeter do a Kriegsmarine WW2 destroyer . Regards Gav.
