Almost 15 years later and it’s so breathtaking to see this woman that young me looked up to be incredibly vulnerable. I work with psychiatric patients and to see such honesty from someone already under a public microscope is no minor deal. I know many people who struggle with what she struggles with will find solace in learning they are not alone and that there *is* hope for the future

It’s funny… I always knew Selena because my teen used to watch her Wizards of Waverly Place but I became a fan in recent years with OMITB and watching her grow with grace and dignity and such class! Not having enough friends at school, Having our first heart break, not having last relationships, battling with mental health, being single, and now not being able to have a future pregnancy. She's like a mirror of my life without the celebrity status obviously. I completely understand her not wanting to look back at her documentary because I can't neither look back to my past without feeling triggered. She has come so far and like I said to myself god has a purpose for the both of us at the end.

The fact that both her and Alek allowed time to create their work was just beautiful. It allowed for the perfect coalition of musical experience and reality being united in a way that's healing for themselves WITH that inclusivity of her audience. I really can't find anything as relatable as this film. I've learned on this earth from my own mental health issues (ive survived suicide 3 times, been through ideations and isolation when nobody knew), time was really EVERYTHING. I get that feeling of wanting to move past it, but also wanting to say "hey I've been through this and it was fcking difficult and here's what I learned so you don't feel alone, and I hope this can help". It was about allowing yourself the time to give yourself and treat yourself that moment of peace to say "hey I need a moment to make sure I'M okay". I respect them wholeheartedly for that. For them to all be so gracious with the time spent on this project, it is incredibly well done. I really wish filmmakers kept to this idea, because we'd have films that would keep up to this caliber. I keep on watching every day or certain scenes whenever I get down. These two are admirable and remarkable individuals.

Selena is a true blessing!!! I've gone through depression my whole life, it's hard to deal with. It's a daily struggle some times you don't even want to wake up.
