  • Hello again! It's Week in the Life™ season again!
This video is an overview of the current status of my 2023 Week in the Life™ project and sharing some of my plans to make progress on it before this year's documenting week.
Initially this year I was hesitant to work on these past projects, but since opening up my project and gathering my supplies, I feel very inspired to work on it again.
In this video I share a few tips that have helped + inspired me. (And maybe they can inspire you too.)
The main tip I have is to open up your project and say hello to it again. Find out where you are in the project and remember why you wanted to make this project in the first place.
Then, I realized a few things that were helpful to me as I am getting started:
    1. Gather your supplies.
--This includes your album + kit + stamps + journaling / notes + photos (make some smart albums by date in your photo software or phone) + any other supplies you want to keep together.
    2. "Make it Fun if You Want it Done." -- Jon Acuff
--Adopt a positive mindset / mantra / energy about your project again. Get excited! Set up some rewards and make it fun for you. The messy middle is just that...the messy middle. Accepting that and letting go of the stress of that has been helpful for me. (And a whole lot more fun.)
    3. Take Some Action
--Do something today to get on your way! I actually took my album apart and I'm using clipboards to make it feel more manageable. The bonus is that I can work on my journaling, selecting photos, etc while in the family room. And it's easier than having my whole project out at once. I like that it's a reminder to break the project down into more manageable parts. I'm starting with a "one day at a time" approach, but you could also work on a batch processing approach (doing all the journaling / then doing the photos in parts / adding finishing touches with embellishments, etc). Be flexible and allow yourself to adapt to what is working for you.
I'm excited to be getting started on this project again. I've already made some initial progress and am excited to see the photos and stories that made up a week in our life come together in this project.

I'm hoping to post my progress on various projects at least quarterly. (Still figuring all of this out...making progress one day at a time!)
