I flew to Bembridge last week for my First away landing with my Mrs since getting my licence. Lovely place got a bit lost on the landing circuit and could not see the runway whilst on base which i stupidly mentioned to the Mrs. She got a bit nervious :-( Luckily after 2 large G&T's in the Pub she was all smiles and we flew back to Bournemouth very happy. Planning a trip to Duxford next with her mum in the back. Love Flying.

At last, somebody giving mention to Bembridge. As you put it, "Sandown's quieter cousin". Glad to see you fixed the shower leak! Looks as though you had a busy day of flying and looking forward to those videos when they come out.
It’s so true, there’s something extra satisfying when there’s a real mission. Great to see you having such an enjoyable day’s flying when you’ve got so much going on.

Ironically, as a pilot who only flies "missions", I long for the flights that are just for fun, with the freedom to enjoy flying for flying's sake. Love the videos!

I did this soon after passing my test, also partook of the fish and chips :) I fluffed up the first approach to 12 as the very short base leg took me by surprise and had too much energy at the threshold so floated down the runway in ground effect before going around! Nice airfield :)
What a lovely day out, three flights, landing at the best airfield on the IOW. Also fish and chips in the restaurant.

Recall the leaky Arrow door well Jon. Also provides “air conditioning” on hot days 😂😂. Equally important,which airport is closer to the infamous IOW festival? 😂😂😂😂

I think Haslemere is in view. Bear in mind our view from the cockpit is slightly different from the view from the under wing camera.

Redhill has a tarmac runway?? I had no idea!
I may be wrong, but its probably the taxiway used as a runway during winter.
Was that a "Farnborough Radar 125 decimal 255?" and did they not pick that up? That's the trouble with us Air/Ground chappies, far too pickie.

Bembridge is a great field to visit, with a great pub. What is your preference Jon mushy or garden? Always good to have someone to fly with. Was the door fixed on annual?
Definitely prefer garden peas!! The door seals have been replaced, but still leaks a bit. Waiting for the cover to arrive.
Very nice video and interesting like yours others all videos. I have a question, why you don’t brake the wheels before gear up ? It s avoid to rub…

@@TheFlyingReporter You did do this :) If you're looking at the front wheel of course it has no brake, the right wheel can be seen to stop.
I see you switched from farnborough to Bembridge, but it seemed that you did this without asking first. Were you monitoring both frequencies?
I wasn't in receipt of a service from them I suspect
